**'It's impossible to tell a story without becoming someone else. Putting words together can be complicated, contradictory at times and even seems like a monstrous act which implies some kind of metamorphosis..'

Enjoyable read!
An entertaining and contentious at times book #5 in the ongoing 'A Woman Lost' series. Recommended book and series!

I've listened to this audiobook as part of my

This is book 5 of the ‘A woman lost series by this author which follows the life of Lizzie, a socially awkward historian academic, and her family. I haven’t read any of the previous books in the series but I didn’t find any issues in catching up with the story as the author subtly recounts what happened so far. In this installment, Lizzie’s wife tries to organise the perfect Christmas party while family issues and weird situations threaten to wreck the festivities. Will the Christmas holidays be ruined for the Petrie family?

‘A woman loved is an entertaining, quirky, and sometimes hilarious family Christmas story. I love TB Markinson’s writing style, it’s word crafty, funny, and irreverent. She manages to make ridiculous situations sound plausible and laughable, in an endearingly geeky and self-deprecating way. Her stories are the perfect recipe to enlighten anyone’s mood. ‘A woman loved isn’t an exception, if it was a movie it would be a mix of ‘Meet the parents with ‘Love actually. It shows the best and worst of extended families.

The audiobook version is read by Stephanie Murphy. I’ve listened to her narrations before and I found that she is the consummate professional. This isn’t the easiest story to narrate because it has a good number of characters, both male and female who interact with each other frequently, but Ms. Murphy makes it sound easy. Her pace and voice quality are ideal for the lightness and humorous tone of the story which, despite dealing with heavy issues such as infidelity, parental absence, and family conflicts, it’s all taken with a pinch of salt. This is a good choice if you are looking for a family Christmas audiobook that will entertain you and fill you with holiday spirit. I couldn’t have chosen a better ending for my 12 Lesbian Audiobooks of Christmas Challenge.

Unfortunately, this audiobook isn’t available in either Audible Escape or Scribd but you are guaranteed more than 6 hours of entertainment for the price you are paying. 4.5 stars.

Goodness, that's one hell of a stressful Christmas, lol. Kudos to Sarah and Lizzie for keeping it together. I would have lost the plot very early on!

This is the first book I've read by the author (and book 5 in the series, I know, lol!) I think it was on offer for free somewhere so grabbed it while I could! I can't say no to a free lesfic book!

I really enjoyed this! Lots of characters (who I'm assuming I would know better if I'd read the first four books, lol!) Loved Lizzie and Sarah, and the whole story was brilliantly written. It must have been hard to have a story that mostly spans only three days or so, but there's enough going on that it keeps you interested. I'm super curious about the cliffhanger at the end! Loved Lizzie's little inner monologue and her humour and wit, and smiled quite a lot through the read 😊 I look forward to reading another by this author.

Another great and lovely book. It sometimes made me laugh out loud. I just finished this one and I am going to start reading the next one straight away. Lovely main characters, with some awful family members. Fun reading without angst.

Loved it!

Lizzie is preparing for her wife’s perfectly planned, family Christmas! When all the family arrive and the atmosphere is buzzing with tension and underlying issues that threaten to spoil the magical family day, Lizzie is desperately trying to save the day but with all the stress and unruly guests adding complications for Lizzie to navigate, it is nothing but a crazy few days in their home.

I just love Lizzie and this amazing series. A Woman Loved is the fifth book in the series and offers a comedic, festive, holiday story about the craziest family I know. Although part of series, I love how you could read these stories stand alone, but I do recommend reading the other books in the series first so that you have the full Lizzie effect. Understanding her character and her family’s parts that they all play really gives you a deeper connection with them all and you’ll have a great time reading the story because you really can’t help but feel like you are a part of all the mayhem.

I adore Lizzie for all she endures. Her and Sarah really do have a whole host of characters within their friends and family who put them in these brilliantly hilarious situations that always leave Lizzie in a bit of a spin. In this story she was so cute, and actually for Lizzie I think she handled it all with a calm that I haven’t seen in her before. She is definitely settling into family life, and Lizzie with babies and kids is just the cutest thing EVER!!!

Christmas is usually a crazy time of year for most people but for Lizzie and her family it is more so than ever. With all the running around and extra dramas that presented themselves and sort of threw Sarah’s plan out, it was great to see Lizzie running around driving herself a little bit crazy because you could have a great chuckle with every passing moment and chapter, whilst thoroughly feeling immersed in the story.

I really hope Lizzie and Sarah will get a bit of a break now, although I doubt it, and I can’t wait to see what waits in store for them next. I highly recommend this series, as it is just a great comedic romance that will definitely put a smile on your face.

The is a funny Christmas story in the continuing series. It covers only a few days before, durring and after Christmas. Sarah has gone over the top in her holiday plans inviting all the family. Much is happening with couples and any of it can upset the peaceful celebration Sarah wants. Ethan and his wife may be splitting up, two marriage proposals are in the works and Peter and Tie are upping their marriage war games. In between everyone must be fed, entertained and peace maintained. Lizzie is growing personally and is actually supportive of so many in all the mayhem.

One of the great things about these books is following Lizzie’s attempts to understand everyday relationships, however in this book the author has provided an overload that any sane person would struggle to comprehend. In fact it quickly turns into a bit of a farce, which is occasionally very funny, but would have been my Christmas from Hell.
I nearly gave four stars, but I didn’t like the ending so if possible I would have given 3.5 stars.

Murphy Law has nothing on this family

I really enjoy this series and I was stoked when the fifth book came out so close to the last one. This one is by far the craziest out of the series and what was even crazier is the Lizzie is considered the sane one...the sane one, how is that possible. Casey I think is my favorite in this one and the Ethan Lisa situation breaks my heart a bit. The Peter Tie powder keg doesnt just explode...it was so big scientists are still trying to figure out an adjective for it. And then you have Maddie Gabe and well I hope they dont mess it up. Lits happens in a two day span and boy is it a rollercoaster. Fans of the series will scratch their heads but enjoy this addition to the series...it is by far the most active

Book 5 in the A Woman Loved series. I loved this one; really quite funny in places, and a nice cliffhanger to have us all going mad until we read the next one! As I’ve said in other reviews for this series, don’t even try reading this if you’ve not read the others, you will be quite lost.

Petrie Christmas

Chaotic Christmas for the Petrie clan. Sarah and Lizzie continue to grow in their relationship. Having family for the holiday can be difficult at times, but the Petrie's take it to a whole new level. T.B. Markinson created a wallop of a Christmas. Sit back and enjoy a family of chaos. I love this series.

This is the fifth instalment of the Woman Lost series by T.B. Markinson, one of my very favourite series. I’m glad to have the opportunity to read another grand story of Lizzie and family.

This story shows us what it is to spend the holidays with all the Petries under Lizzie and Sarah’s roof.

One of the things I’ve liked the most in the series is the inner musings and quirks of Lizzie. This book is hilarious and emotional. It’s quite the ride to watch Lizzie dealing with all the Petries together as she does her best to make sure all of her wife’s efforts to have the perfect Christmas come to fruition, without going insane. I love Lizzie and it’s great to see how she and Sarah have become a strong, loving unity, for them and their children.

It's an excellent story, the series is brilliant and this book it’s exceptional. I didn’t want to put it down, just to keep reading. The characters keep developing nicely and the story is marvellous. I’m looking forward for the next one; hopefully Markinson won’t make us wait too long for the sequel after that surprising ending.

I highly recommend the book. Also if you haven’t read the previous four books of the series, I kindly suggest you do before this one.

The one word I’d use to sum up this installment of the series is chaos. Even though Lizzie made it her "personal mission to make everyone’s Christmas come true, there was no way she could avoid stepping out of the frying pan and into the fire. From one conflicting relationship to another, in addition to food poisoning and an ominous Tie-phoon, Lizzie just couldn’t catch a break.

At this point in Lizzie's life, being the “clueless one no longer applies to her because her family and friends are coming to her for advice. According to Lizzie, they “assume [she] had all the answers or ability to help them navigate life’s tricky waters, which is a compliment considering how much growing she had to do to get to this point. Overall this was a decent continuation of A Woman Lost Series. This story ends with a cliffhanger, so on to the next book.

Once again, Lizzie and Sarah continue to create a world that grows with them. This is truly one of the best series I have ever had the pleasure to read in any genre. The range of emotions that are cultivated through this story are amazing. What I have enjoyed most is the humor and wit that plays out with all the characters through word and action. This a crew of quirky characters with Lizzie always leading that pack. Sarah even with her logic and sense of family missteps in the weirdest ways. The twins add an amusing diversion and more personality to this saga. The intense thread of love that spans this series deepens in each book. The only difficulty I had with this book was the cliff hanger end. TB. Markinson until this book has not done that with this series. In all honesty I would be eager for the next book even with out the hanger but now the anticipation is greater. Curiosity and patience make for great works. My hope is that this is one of those never ending sagas.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily leaving my review.

This is Book 5 of the series. I would highly recommend you read the other books in the series to get a better understanding and background info of all the characters, although, it could be read as a stand-a-lone book.

This series just gets better with each book. Excluding book 1, this one would be my favourite. I wanted to pace myself with this book so it would last a little longer but that went out the window. When I started reading, I was hooked from the very beginning. Great bunch of characters and it continues flawlessly with the story line. It is no secret that I love Lizzie and all her quirks. Maddie is my favourite secondary character. Looking forward to reading the next in the series, especially with the way this book ended.

First, a caveat: I adore Lizzie. I simply adore her, so there you have it, she can't do wrong in my eyes :P

But add to that Sarah wanting to organize the perfect Christmas party and... well... you know that things will get hilariously wrong. *coughs* food poisoning *coughs*

And having Lizzie being the one to who everyone turns for advice is bewildering. For her, and us *laughs*

The story is frankly lovely, and seeing these two women enjoying their life together is a thing of beauty. They deserve their happiness.

Except, of course, that Lizzie's family has a way to intrude in it, and this time, is Lizzie's brother arrest what gets to be the cherry on top of their celebration *headdesk*

I simply loved it, and I want the next one ASAP!

Stephanie Murphy's narration is delightful.

Markinson has outdone herself with A Woman Loved. She manages to give personality and depth to all of her characters…and that is not an easy task considering the number included here. A family Christmas with the Petrie family has drama, humor, romance, and a total surprise at the end. I love her witty dialogue and creative scenes. I seriously enjoyed this from the first word to the last. And about the last words…OH MY!

A great addition to the series.

I just finished “A Women Loved 5th book in T.B Markinson’s “A Lost Woman Series. Another great addition to the story. Lizzie and Sarah have Christmas for their friends and extended family at their house. It’s a Murphy’s Law holiday, if it can go wrong, it will. This book has some funny moments. Start the series from the beginning, it’s a good read.

An Epic family Christmas

Holidays and families can be exciting and trying. But seeing their love for each other and the twins is beautiful. It is so endearing how this couple navigate the minefields of drama with so much love. The growth of their marriage is inspiring mixed with great dialogue. They truly bring out the best in each other. I loved being invited into their home for the holidays. This could be on my yearly Christmas reads .

I thought this was great book. Lizzie and Sarah are planning to have the entire Petrie family at their house for Christmas Eve. There are announcements, mystery, conflicting personalities, and the weirdness that ensues when family and friends get together. Will Lizzie and Sarah survive this Christmas or will they surrender and kick everyone out before dinner even happens?

Wow!

This series gets better with every book. Oh, the drama of a dysfunctional family during the holidays! This book has that and more. I love this series being told from Lizzie's point of view and all of her internal dialogues remind us that we all battle some sort of "demon" within ourselves. That really brings these characters to life for me. I highly recommend this series!

Wow!

This was so funny, lots and lots of drama. Also, lots of love. I love Lizzie and Sarah's relationship and their bond. I love how Lizzie is becoming more comfortable and how she's evolved and how she stands up for Sarah. I really loved this book. It's 4am where I am and I just finished this, and it ended in a cliff hanger so now I NEED to start the next on in the series.

Lizzie is always awesome but I have to say this time she cracked me up so much I laughed all through out the read.
This time Christmas is a gift that kept on giving, and lizzie is truly witty.
I loved everything about this book....each time I an awed by TB's brilliance. She is one of the best storytellers out there right now.

And I thought my family and extended family were dysfunctional.
Weather, wine, good food, bad food and angst makes a party go downhill oh so fast.
Is divorce in the air or is it just history rearing it's ugly head again?
Can a family talk with each other than to each other?
Everyone needs a break and get in their own corners.
