2 stars!

Earlier this year, I read and ADORED book 1 in this series . It was everything I could ever ask for in a NA romance 鈥 fun, entertaining, and truly a breath of fresh air with likable main characters, witty banter that had me grinning from ear to ear, and a believable romance that wasn鈥檛 just hinged on a heroine having big boobs or a reformed playboy hero like so many NA books today. Not only did I fall in love with the story and characters, I also found in Elle Kennedy a new author to book stalk and whose writing was so fresh and engaging I couldn鈥檛 wait to read more from her, especially this second book in this series. Thus, I鈥檓 really sad, disappointed, and quite frankly, a tad bit annoyed that I didn鈥檛 love or even like The Mistake much because believe me, I wanted to love it badly.

One of the biggest issues I had with this book was the way the author portrayed college life and the character stupidity that resulted because of such a shallow, inaccurate, and offensive portrayal.

鈥淚鈥檓 allowed to hook up. No, I should be hooking up, because that鈥檚 what college is all about. Having fun and getting laid and enjoying the fuck out of yourself before you go out in the real world and your life turns to shit.鈥

I don鈥檛 know why I feel so offended by this motto but I do. I think it鈥檚 the standard for NA books to have characters with this kind of mentality who treat college like it鈥檚 a huge joke. As a college student myself, I don鈥檛 find this to be true one bit. Maybe this kind of setting is present for some schools but it鈥檚 not a majority and I wish authors would stop portraying colleges like it鈥檚 a hotspot for orgies and guys are nothing more than manwhores and girls sluts. Aside from Hannah and Garrett (from book 1) the guys in this book 鈥 including Logan 鈥 have getting laid at the top of their to do lists and all the girls can鈥檛 help but want to get nailed and desperately want to lose their virginity, like the heroine Grace for an example (this is literally the first thought of hers I read).

鈥淚 started my freshman year of college as a virgin. I鈥檓 beginning to think I鈥檒l be ending it as one too.鈥

The first couple chapters of this book consisted of Logan moaning over Hannah, him nailing girls, Grace stuttering and wondering if she鈥檒l ever lose her virginity and somehow this is supposed to be considered normal and just pure entertainment value because I mean, it鈥檚 college right? *insert sarcasm* And if you鈥檙e wondering if colleges in the US are all like the way they鈥檙e portrayed in NA books (especially in this book), the answer is NO! I won鈥檛 hide that book 1 also touched on this kind of setting, but at least in that book the author didn鈥檛 allow her main characters to fall victim to that kind of mentality unlike Logan and Grace here.

To build up on this aspect, the characters also made some really dumb and unbelievable choices that made me scratch my head and go huh. Logan and Grace officially meet in one of the cheesiest ways 鈥 him accidentally stumbling upon the wrong dorm room and happens to find her room instead (hmmm okay鈥). They鈥檙e strangers at this point (except Grace has only been fangirling about him for so long and can鈥檛 wait to tell her best friend about him ugh) and you鈥檇 think that since they don鈥檛 know anything about each other they鈥檇 chit-chat and that鈥檇 be the start of a potential relationship right? Instead, Grace 鈥 who knows absolutely nothing about Logan except that he鈥檚 HOT 鈥 invites him into her dorm and further invites him to watch a movie. And then they proceed to mess around. I鈥檓 sorry, but that鈥檚 something I find hard to accept considering they are complete STRANGERS at this point and have next to zero interaction.

These problems I mentioned above are all issues for me because of my inability to separate fiction from reality and how easily I鈥檓 able to compare & contrast the story setting along with the character age so these things may very well not be issues for anyone else. But for me, these were kinks and hindered me from liking the book from the start.

As the story progressed, I found myself relaxing a bit more as the humor, wit, and golden dialogues I know this author is capable of writing appeared and for a while I enjoyed the story. I liked that even though Logan was pining after his best friend鈥檚 girl, he was upfront about it, knew it was wrong, and definitely didn鈥檛 act on the attraction. His dedication and love for hockey along with his commitment to his family were admirable qualities and even made me feel for him. And when he made the biggest mistake of his life romance-wise, I liked that he didn鈥檛 crumble away and throw his hands up and say whatever. He fought for his girl and got his act together.

Grace...what to say about this chick. Overall, she didn鈥檛 leave much an impression on me as a standout heroine who could match the hero. Like I mentioned earlier, the college setting snafu and Grace鈥檚 naivet茅 annoyed me so much and even though she made Logan grovel, there was nothing else about her that stood out. While the author painted a vivid background for Logan (hockey, family), there was nothing on Grace. I mean, when I think about her character my mind鈥檚 a blank slate whereas for Logan I feel sympathy, love, annoyance and compassion.

The last quarter of the book took a nosedive for me as obstacles were swiftly cleared away with little development and oh my god...the part where Logan and his dad resolve their issues made me eyes roll. The engaging writing I came to love in book 1 was mostly absent in this book sadly. Once again, it may just be me but I felt the story was more telling than showing. The author tells me Logan and Grace screwed like rabbits. The author tells me time passed. The author tells me this happened while that occurred and it鈥檚 so frustrating to read such lackluster writing! The story did make me crack a smile here and there but the thing is, those parts all involved Hannah and/or Garrett. While I love those two dearly, I wanted something about Logan and Grace to make me sigh, swoon, or laugh over. It just didn鈥檛 happen for me.

I am definitely in the small minority who feels like this book was a bust so don鈥檛 let my one opinion stop you from checking it out. No matter what, The Deal will always remain one of my top favorites but as I have zero interest in the other side characters (not the manwhore Dean, not Logan鈥檚 other teammates, not Grace鈥檚 backstabbing, drama-creating friend Ramona, etc...) I highly doubt I will continue with this series.

5+ stars!

This series is 100% NA greatness! It鈥檚 got everything you would want in an NA read. It鈥檚 funny, sexy, sweet and the characters are not at all annoying which seems like a rarity in most NA books anymore. Elle Kennedy really excels at writing these college/hockey books. The Deal was fantastic for me, but I have to say鈥 I loved The Mistake EVEN MORE than the first book. As much as I liked Garrett, Logan really just made this book for me. When I read about John Logan in The Deal, I knew I wanted his book. I didn鈥檛 know it would be this amazing, but I鈥檓 glad it was!

It鈥檚 Logan鈥檚 junior year. He鈥檚 a star hockey player who can get any girl he wants. He has a great set of friends and he鈥檚 loving life. At least that鈥檚 how it appears on the outside. The truth is, Logan鈥檚 life isn鈥檛 all rainbows and sunshine. His college life is good, but his home life鈥 not so much. Grace is a college freshman. She鈥檚 an awkward girl who tends to babble a lot, especially around good looking guys. She and Logan make the sweetest pair.

Logan and Grace鈥檚 relationship wasn鈥檛 easy in the beginning, but I loved that all the pesky relationship drama was over with sooner rather than later. It鈥檚 a relief not to have all that happening right at the end of the book! Logan is one of those characters that I connected to immediately. He had so much depth and was willing to sacrifice so much for family and for those that he loved. He was completely devoted and a stand up guy. There were times in the first half that Grace irked me, but overall she was a great character too. I kind of love that she didn鈥檛 give in to Logan so easily. I also loved that she was supportive of him and what he felt he needed to do with his life after college.

One of the best parts about this book is that even with some of the more serious things going on in Logan鈥檚 life, it still made me laugh out loud on more than one occasion. It was straight up funny!
I鈥檓 comfortable enough with my hetero status to say that if I did play for the other team? I wouldn鈥檛 just fuck Garrett Graham, I鈥檇 marry him.

鈥淪eriously, Grace, don鈥檛 stress. You know what they say- haters be hating, and bitches be bitching.鈥

鈥淟orris? As in Logan and Morris? They fucking Brangelina鈥檇 themselves?鈥

As soon as I finished reading this, I bought the audio version as well, because I know I will re-read in the future. I loved it that much. This is a series I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a college romance with steam and humor. 5+ stars!!! I鈥檓 so looking forward to the next one in this series!

鈥淚 need you. I can鈥檛 stand the thought of being without you.鈥 He releases a shaky breath. 鈥淵ou鈥檙e the last person I think about before I go to sleep, and the first person I think about when I open my eyes in the morning. You鈥檙e it for me, baby.鈥

Really good college romance! I have to admit, I still loved The Deal better (it had more of a "spark" to it), but this was a fun read too.

Title: The Mistake
Series: Off-Campus #2
Author: Elle Kennedy
Release Date: 28 April, 2015
Rating: 4.5 stars
Cliffhanger:. No
HEA:

Elle Kennedy simply rocked my world! In February, I had the immense pleasure to read The Deal 鈥 absolutely cute and sexy new adult read that made me smile for days 鈥 and now, barely few months later, I am on cloud nine once again. Why? Because, well, Elle鈥檚 won over my heart for the second time! She鈥檚 just that good.

I admit, I was a little bit afraid that given to my foul mood these past few weeks, I wouldn鈥檛 be able to fully enjoy The Mistake. I was actually sure that there is no way I would be perfectly satisfied with this novel. I mean, how can someone write a book that is just as good as The Deal was, in a matter of few short months? Masterpieces take time, right? Wrong. Elle Kennedy made me realize that if you鈥檙e talented enough, you can write and publish a book very quickly and still make it a hit. So praises for that!

You probably all already were in love with John Logan while reading The Deal. How could you not be? This hockey player is a cause of plenty hearts attack and lost panties. But behind his cocky attitude, smart ass comments and man whoring ways is hidden a young man who鈥檚 hurting. Firstly, he has a painful crush on his best friend鈥檚 girl. Logan is fighting his pull toward Hannah of course, but it is tearing him apart. He鈥檚 ashamed, uneasy and lonely. He tries to forget about Wellsy 鈥 using the booze and sex, but it doesn鈥檛 help much.

What鈥檚 more, he also has an alcoholic father who is dragging him and his brother down.

Grace, on the other hand, is adorable girl with a heart of gold. Maybe a bit predictable and socially awkward, but in my opinion it worked pretty well. She鈥檚 a freshman and a virgin, who doesn鈥檛 have a filter when talking to hot guys, which frankly means she blabs everything; some stories were comical!

When they meet, they discover they are pretty good together 鈥 they have fun, the normal and the sexy type too and Grace cannot believe her luck. She really did hit a jackpot with Logan. But he鈥檚 still mending his heart, trying to get over Hannah and doesn鈥檛 know if Grace is just a sexy distraction or something more鈥

In her usual fashion, Elle Kennedy delivered very steamy, get ready to change your panties New Adult romantic comedy, that will make your heart swell, your lady parts beg for attention and laugh out loud like crazy lunatic.

The Mistake simply doesn鈥檛 disappoint. Logan鈥檚 story is as engaging, thrilling and sexy as Garrett鈥檚. I am sure that every person who has read and enjoyed The Deal, will love and cherish next part of Off 鈥 Campus Series.

It鈥檚 a perfect mixture of anything that I appreciate in New Adult novels. And I am really mesmerized with it and cannot imagine how I will survive the weeks before additional part in the series releases. Those hockey boys have a big piece of my heart and it literally kills me to wait for Dean鈥檚 and Tucker鈥檚 story. I really hope the author will hurry up and grace us all with sequel just as quickly!! I need more. I am addicted to Elle Kennedy鈥檚 writing. She鈥檚 the boss. So please God, let the third book come out immediately.

Welcome to college in 2015!! In all honesty, college life hasn鈥檛 changed since I was in it. The parties, drama, school work are all still part of it.
I love the college drama because it brings back memories. :)

Okay, here is quick 2 sentence sum up of this book: One evening Logan ends up at the wrong apartment where he meets Grace. A MISTAKE is made that leads to Logan trying to woo his way back into her good graces. Below are some 鈥済et to know you questions鈥 I made up for this couple.

THE DATING GAME questions with Logan and Grace:
1. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION OF GRACE?

鈥淢an, she really is pretty. Not drop-dead gorgeous or anything, but she has a fresh-face, girl-next-door look that鈥檚 seriously appealing. Freckles on her nose, delicate features, and smooth, creamy skin right out of a makeup commercial.鈥

2. DURING YOUR FIRST CONVERSATION WITH LOGAN YOU COMPARED HIM TO THE INFAMOUS SERIAL KILL, TED BUNDY. WERE YOU NERVOUS AND THAT'S WHY YOU STARTED RAMBLING ON ABOUT RANDOM STUFF?

鈥淣o. Well, maybe a little. I don鈥檛 know 鈥 yeah. Stranger danger and all that鈥 But 鈥 you know鈥︹€

3. WHAT KIND OF GIRL ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

鈥淚 want someone to cuddle with and watch movies with, someone who wears my jersey and cheers for me at games, and cooks dinner with me.鈥

4. HOW HAS DATING LOGAN "CORRUPTED" YOU? ;)

鈥淗e鈥檚 corrupted me with the dirty words he whispers when we fool around, and I like it. I like the thrill of being bold and wanton, and I love the way his warm flesh quivers when I taste him with my tongue.鈥

5. WHEN IS IT APPROPRIATE TO TELL GRACE YOU LOVE HER?

鈥淚鈥檓 not sure what the etiquette for I-love-you鈥檚 is. I told my first girlfriend I loved her after two weeks of dating. My second, after five months. So maybe I should split the difference and tell Grace鈥 at the three-month point. Yeah. That seems like an appropriate amount of time.鈥
~
Now that you鈥檝e gotten to know Logan and Grace a little better have fun reading about them in THE MISTAKE. One of my favorite parts happens at 63%. I had so much fun finding a gif for that passage. That's the great part about goodreads is even for those who haven鈥檛 read the story they are still able to join in the fun laughing at a gif.

The Mistake is my second book by Ms. Kennedy and I鈥檓 anticipating more books in the Off-Campus series.

I really, really need a John Logan in my life.

A.m.a.z.e.b.a.l.l.s!! Plain and simple! I read a few months ago and while I enjoyed it, it didn't rock my world (I guess it's because I wasn't into NA romances back then). But after stumbling upon Pearl's and Nicoleta's awesome reviews (click their names to read them!) I decided to continue with Logan's story and oh boy I am so glad I did! Because despite his mistakes and many insecurities, I fell for him head over heels! I've even named our children.

鈥淚 broke up with her to avoid getting into a serious relationship with her, and now it turns out that's what I wanted all along.鈥

Yep, that's John Logan, aka Hottie McSexy. Having a thing for his best friend's girlfriend was driving him nuts, and when he met sweet and funny Grace he thought that he was using her as a distaction, so he messed up. Big time. But when he realized his mistake he was determined to win her back, even if he had to compose love poems and pose in his underwear. Grace was reluctant to trust him but eventually she gave in to his charm and seduction skills and holy alien babies! the result was explosions! fireworks! volcano erruptions! that led into melted panties, a streak of drool hanging from my mouth and believe me when I say this, being turned on while in public is really uncomfortable. I mean, I was in the bus and tried my best to hide what I was reading but I'm afraid that my tomato-red cheeks gave me away!

鈥淗e's got this whole manly thing going on that makes me want to rip his clothes off and lick him like an ice-cream cone.鈥

Amen sister, join the club! We can gather every Friday and worship Logan's abs and his toned arms and his sexy smile and his blue eyes and...ok, time to stop. is a freaking goddess! I still can't fathom how she can create so many different swoon-worthy male characters! Hotties here, hotties there, hotties everywhere! was one of the sexiest books I've ever read but still it wasn't just about sex! It was also about alcoholism and dysfunctional families and broken friendships and problems we've all pretty much faced during our college years (but unfortunately there weren't delicious hockey players to distract us. Life is so unfair). The whole thing with Ramona was too close to the bone and honestly, I thought Grace was a far better person that I'll ever be. And so was Logan. My heart ached for him and his hopelessness about his future, but he was so admirable even when he was weak, such a complex and fascinating character that when you didn't want to do dirty things with him you wanted to hug him and make his handsome face smile again!
鈥淛ust out of curiosity, what constitutes a 'nice cock shot'? I mean, is it the lightning? The pose?鈥

I am pretty sure I laughed so hard my stomach hurt in this scene, and in many more! It was such a hilarious and amusing book that I couldn't hold back the tears while I chuckled! It should be illegal for Dean to open his mouth, and both Logan and Grace's narratives were pure entertainment! I loved Grace and her babbling, she was a really refreshing female MC and stars above! she never annoyed me, not even once! I totally understood why it was so hard for her to trust Logan, and her stupid jackass scene made me love her even more! Her whole relationship with Logan made me want to dance barefoot in a green meadow and roll in the grass and gather flowers and sing until I run out of air! They were witty, they were hot, they were funny, they were adorable!

combined great characters and friendships, laughter and sex in the most appealing way and I have to admit that suddenly hockey became my favorite sport!

P.S. The talk between Logan and Hannah didn't remind you of Friends and Joey's temporary infatuation with Monica?

Another wonderful addition to Elle Kennedy's Off Campus series. Delivered with Elle's trademark humor and vivid characterization, The Mistake is another fantastic read for me.

John Logan is the hot, handsome and popular college jock who is pining for his best friend's girl. Since she's off limits, he turns his amorous attentions elsewhere. Yes, John Logan is a bit of dog. Then he meet Grace Ivers. Grace is a freshman and a virgin. Yeah, I know what you're thinking. Ugh, not another virgin. But there's a perfectly good reason why she is, so I personally didn't mind. Besides, this is New Adult, virgin heroines and manwhore heroes are staples, but that's where the similarities with other NA books end.

Logan is a fantastic hero, and although, Garrett would forever be my number one, I gotta admit that Logan managed to make me laugh so hard with his crazy abbreviations and all around hotness. Grace is another likable and relatable heroine. I like the fact that the heroines in this series are more than just placeholders. They are actually as well developed as the heroes, which in NA, isn't usually the case.

鈥淎re you trying to buy your way into my good graces?鈥
鈥淵up. And excellent pun, by the way.鈥
鈥淚 wasn鈥檛 punning. My name just happens to be a homonym.鈥
鈥淚 love it when you talk homonyms to me.鈥

Much like The Deal, The Mistake's biggest strengths are its likable and relatable characters. John Logan and Grace Ivers may be your typical college-age kids but they both have goals, ambitions and life outside "finding the one". I liked that they act like college kids and their struggles and issues fit within that age range. These characters worry about school, they worry about their prospects after college, they worry about their future, etc.

Logan, despite his carefree persona, faces a very uncertain future after college putting his dreams of playing professional hockey in jeopardy. Grace is trying to find her place in college away from her best friend's negative influence and under the watchful eye of her father. Logan and Grace had quite a rough start with regards to their relationship with Logan still stuck in his own misconceptions about his own feelings, hence, the title. But once Logan wised up and realized the huge blunder he made, he immediately set up to win Grace which was the best part of the book!

鈥淕ive me another chance. Let me prove to you that I鈥檓 not an egocentric ass.鈥

There's nothing quite better than reading about Logan putting in a Herculean effort of wooing his girl. Nothing. It was cute, romantic and hilarious at the same time. So many laugh-out-loud moments in this book especially with the boys getting a bit more page time this around. I simply love the banter not only between Grace and Logan but also between Logan, Garrett, Tucker and Dean. In romance, it's mostly the heroine with her girlfriends who would gab and talk about the finer points of the hero's physique. This time, we get a lot of the guys bantering and egging each other on but mostly just being there for one another.

Another winner from Elle Kennedy for me! She definitely knows how to deliver a well written, sexy and sweet new adult romance that's low on the angst and high on the humor with a dash of touching moments. Yes, definitely recommended if you're looking for a light easy read.

I wonder whose book is next?

There are always high expectations when you read a sequel to book that was so good that you worry if the next one will manage to keep up. Well, no worries here, because The Mistake was as fabulous. I don't know how the author does it but she, again, managed to deliver great story with great characters. And I'm gonna repeat myself here, this is how NA should be done! Now, excuse me, while Snoopy will do the dance again.

- I loved the setting. College, sport, hockey, it all worked for me.

- I loved Grace. The girl was smart and cute. She was a bit shy and timid at the beginning but once she caught her wind, she didn't take shit from a bitchy friend or Logan. And when Logan made his mistake, she stomped her feet and made him work for it, though she knew she would be giving him a chance.

- I loved Logan. He was sexy, cocky and stubborn as a mule. I loved his persistence and the grovelling part. Once he realized that relationship with Grace is what he really wanted, and what he did was huge mistake, he never gave up. That boy sure knew what to do to redeem himself.

- I loved their relationship. They were a very good match. Not only were they hot for each other but also talked to each other. They knew about their hobbies, their plans, their future, their dreams, there was simply connection there, and not only on the basic, carnal level.

- I loved the bromance. Seriously, these four hockey hotties know how to make you laugh and melt your heart at the same time.

- I loved the story. There was no unnecessary drama, it was funny and steamy. There was not too much sex in the book but still, it will twist your panties.

- I loved the writing. The humour, the dialogue, the banter, POVs, it was all amazing. That Skype joke? Excellent!

To sum up, if you're looking for something cute, light, heart-warming, swoon worthy and sexy, this one will do it for you. Highly recommend!

Two down, two more to go. I heard Dean The Dick Shot is next;) Bring. Him. On. !

He absolutely makes me nervous. He's John fucking Logan, one of the most popular guys at this college. And I'm Grace fucking Ivers, one of thousand of girls who are crushing on him.

You know what I love? A sexy bad boy. Know what I love even more? A good grovel. What else? A sassy and sharp witted heroine that makes the sexy bad boy work for it. So this book? My golden trifecta.

If you've read , then you remember Logan, Garrett's best friend and roommate and also the poor bastard that manages to get a crush on Garrett's girlfriend. Seemingly Logan has it all, his choice of girls, a promising hockey future and infamy on campus. But deep down everything is not quite so perfect. His promising hockey future? A mirage that he perpetuates to his friends because of a secret he hides. His pick of girls? Irrelevant because he can't have the one he wants. But then knocking on the wrong door changes the course of his life when he meets Grace Ivers.

Grace Ivers is an introverted freshman with a mild case of OCD that's as endearing as she is quirky. Prone to babbling when she gets nervous, I knew just after a few short lines that I'd love her. Her internal dialogue never failed to bring a goofy smile to my face.
I've given handjobs before, plus a few blowjobs that I know were a huge success because...well, semen and all that. but I don't have enough experience to consider myself an expert penis-wrangler or anything.

What starts out as an unlikely friendship quickly turns into something more. Unfortunately before Logan realizes just how perfect Grace is for him he manages to fuck things up so perfectly there may be no fixing it.

I'd say this book is split in 2 halves; 1. Pre-monumental fuck up and 2. Post-monumental fuck up. And in between those two there's one deliciously perfect grovel. As much as I liked Grace in the first half of the book, I absolutely loved her in the 2nd half. She's a lot more assertive and self-assured in the second half. She really grows into her own and becomes that much more endearing.

To be honest seeing how Logan was crushing on Hannah in the last book and this one I was afraid that he'd be "settling" for Grace. But that was never the case, not at all. As a matter of fact, I loved how the author handled that situation. I seriously loved every page of this book. The humor and banter between the guys (and my beloved manwhore Dean) was pure gold.
Just out of curiosity, what constitutes a 'nice cock shot'? I mean, is it the lighting? The pose?"
"Well, the trick is, you've gotta keep the balls out of it."
"Seriously," Dean insists. "Balls aren't photogenic. Women don't want to see them."

As for Logan, let's just say my lust love for Logan never wavered. Well it may have shaken slightly at one point but boy did he make up for it.
Trust me, baby, you're the only woman I want. The only one who gets me going."

Everything the man said and did had me feeling all warm and lusty inside.

There was the one "friend" of Grace's, Ramona, that I wanted to punch in both ovaries and then not-so-gently push her off a bridge because hello twat alert! I was glad to see that Grace wasn't such a pushover with her as she was in the beginning, but hopefully she never gets a book. I swears every time I read her name all I could think of was crazy Ramona from Real Housewives and I wanted to reach through my kindle and throttle her.

True story ;)

Aside from that, I really loved this. Logan was absolutely swoon worthy. I loved him and Grace together. I loved him in general. Sure you get another hero with "daddy issues" but I couldn't find it in me to care.
Belonging. It's the only way to describe the exquisite rush of sensation that washes over me. His lips BELONG on mine.

If you loved The Deal, I'm almost positive that you'll love The Mistake. I know that I sure as hell did and I absolutely cannot wait for the next book. I'm hoping it will be my manwhoring Dean. If the set-up in this book is what I think it is then his book is sure to be one verra interesting read.

This will be short because iPhone. And lazy.

I really enjoyed this...just not as much as The Deal...which is odd as I truly enjoyed both Logan and Grace just as much - if not more - than Garrett and Hannah.

So far I have been very happy with Kennedy's female leads. They are level headed young women. And, most importantly, they manage to avoid causing me to harbor homicidal tendencies toward them - a seemingly tremendous feat these days it seems.

However, I felt that this one was a little slow to get going...and I just didn't find the conflict here to be as compelling as I would have liked.

Otherwise, another Kennedy winner.

I'll be curious to see what happens with the walking STD that is Dean in book three. He's perhaps a little too skanky for my NA tastes lol.

Logan thought he had feelings for his best-friend girlfriend. So when one night trying to forget about his messed of life he meets Grace, he鈥檚 surprised how he can鈥檛 push her out of his mind. They start to get closer until one fatal mistake pushes Grace away, making Logan realize too late that whatever feelings he could have before, are nothing compared to what he feels for Grace. But months pass and she wants nothing to do with him. Until they meet again and this time Logan is settled on proving Grace that she鈥檚 the girl for him. She only has to believe in him this time.

I believe this series is on its way of becoming some of the best NA books of the moment. They are steamy, sweet, and hilarious and had just the right amount of drama and angst to keep us on our toes. From the first page until the very last one, I simply couldn鈥檛 put this book down. This was a completely addictive reading, and believe me I don鈥檛 mind being a Elle Kennedy junkie not even a bit. And despite being an easy reader to please, I鈥檓 weirdly picky with the details and there was some moments that made me itch: .
Overall, this a great book, very well written, funny and steamy and if you haven鈥檛 started this series yet, do yourself a favor and start reading them!!

Characters Development: I loved, LOVED Logan. I didn鈥檛 like him more than Garret, but definitely as much. Yes, he had a moment of stupidity but he man-up, took the consequences and redeemed himself. He was so adorable and sexy that it was impossible not to love him. I really liked Grace as well. She wasn鈥檛 a doormat and she made Logan grovel when he certainly deserved it. But she was also supportive, fierce and very honest. She was a great heroine. I loved to see more of the others (namely Garrett and Hannah) and I can鈥檛 freaking wait for Dean鈥檚 book!!

鈥淚鈥檓 comfortable enough with my hetero status to say that if I did play for the other team? I wouldn鈥檛 just fuck Garrett Graham, I鈥檇 marry him.鈥

The mistake was such a stellar sequel and tbh I enjoyed it more than I did the last time and we also see Elle Kennedy improve and evolve as a writer. The way she carried the tropes and give the character depth and life. I really enjoyed it. It was very easy to read and also very short, the book that I have was only 270 pages so I really flew through it and it was such a feel good book. The vibes were flowing through and the banter was amazing as usual. Logan and Grace definitely deserved their own story and this book proves that.

鈥淎nd just in case my reaction to your idiocy didn鈥檛 make it clear where I stand with us, then let me spell it out for you.鈥 I whirl around to scowl at him. 鈥淚 love you, you stupid jackass.鈥

Like I know many people like Garrett more and don't get me wrong before my reread I loved him more too but after this I can easily say that Logan was my favorite because that man knew the definition of grovelling he grovelled through and through. The way all these men have such dirty mouths also I love how we got to see his struggles as well like the one with his father and how it was affecting him and his life and how much lonely he felt and his guilt it was so well done.

鈥淲hat are you doing?鈥 I whisper. 鈥淲ell, you were looking at me like you wanted me to kiss you.鈥 His blue eyes become heavy-lidded. 鈥淪o I was thinking I might do that.鈥

Then we have Grace our FMC she was literally the cutest. THE CUTEST I love her so much and I love how strong she is because unlike other romance women she did not back down. Grace stood up for herself and literally made Logan grovel for such a long time until she accepted him and don't even get me started on how well she handled the Ramona situation (yes I still don't like Ramona) Grace was definitely a person who you'd think is innocent and weak but she really isn't she's kind to you but if you do her worng you'll have to face hell and if you want the situation or go back to how it was then AHAHA you either have to grovel the way Logan did or it's a bye bye for you.

The romance was >>>> this book was very cute but what surprised me the most was how hot it was and Logans dialogue ls didn't help 馃槶 but truly it was very cute. I felt like romance played a very vital role because of Grace trying to find love and Logan wanting love but not knowing it. There was communication later on and that is what I loved. Grace was understanding and forgiving Logan was loving and protective and both of them were just perfect..

Now although I rated it lower than what I gave the deal I still enjoyed it more and some parts of this even more than the deal.

Some of their banter that I enjoyed:

鈥淚鈥檓 comfortable enough with my hetero status to say that if I did play for the other team? I wouldn鈥檛 just fuck Garrett Graham, I鈥檇 marry him.鈥

鈥淕o away, G. I鈥檓 wooing.鈥

鈥淚 nod in approval. 鈥淒amn. I should go into modeling.鈥 鈥淵ou photograph really well,鈥 Garrett agrees in a serious voice. 鈥淎nd dude, your package looks huge.鈥 Fuck, it totally does.鈥

鈥淛ust as the door opens, I look intently at the screen and act like I'm still chatting with her mother. '--And she stuck her finger in my ass when she was blowing me, which was fucking incredible. I never thought I'd enjoy having anything up there, but--'
Grace screams in horror.鈥
I WAS WHEEZING

鈥淪eriously, dude, put on a shirt.鈥
鈥淗ey, you know what they say,鈥 Dean drawls. 鈥淚f you鈥檝e got it, flaunt it.鈥
鈥淣o, I鈥檓 pretty sure they say put on a shirt when you go for a run, you cocky narcissist.鈥
His jaw drops. 鈥淣arcissist? More like realist. Look at these abs, Wellsy. Actually, touch them. Seriously. It will change your life."

鈥淲hat rhymes with insensitive?鈥 I tap my pen on the kitchen table, beyond frustrated with my current task. Who knew rhyming was so fucking difficult?
Garrett, who鈥檚 dicing onions at the counter, glances over. 鈥淪ensitive,鈥 he says helpfully.
鈥淵es, G, I鈥檒l be sure to rhyme insensitive with sensitive. Gold star for you.鈥

At some point almost every day, I'm reading while my husband is sleeping. Sometimes it's after he's gone to bed, sometimes it's before he wakes up, either way, it's a constant.

And it's normally not a problem.

Then came THE MISTAKE. Even when I was able to hold in the sound from the bursts of laughter, I couldn't stop the full-body shaking.

He was not happy.

Oops. #sorrynotsorry

SPEAKING of hashtags, the only thing that could have been better in the first 85% of this book, would've been if instead of Logan just showing up and making a scene in the dining hall, he'd've taken a selfie and tweeted it, #PipeDownStevens.

Just sayin'.

I wanted to like this book so much. It just made it so hard.

The premise is cute, and the book definitely is addictive and has some fun moments, but a bunch of small things (and some not small things) ruined it for me.

Normally, I would just ignore them, but they kept building up. Here's a list of some of the things that bothered me:

- The male characters in this book fetishize wlw

- Grace keeps saying she has "minor OCD" because she likes to clean. I know this is a super minor thing, but it's a huge pet peeve of mine (as someone with OCD who is severely impacted by it). If it was just said once, I could ignore it, but it was brought up again and again by different characters. Also, Grace wants to be a therapist- she's a psych major! She should know the difference.

- Grace's dynamic with her friend Ramona could have been good, but some things just ruined it. I like that it's addressed that it isn't very healthy, but some of the ways it was handled bothered me.
Details:

- In every romance, there's always that last minute fight. And the one in this book? Horrible. Specifically because of how it handles mental health issues.

4.5 AMAZING GRACE STARS...

Technically I am old enough to be Logan's grandmother!! I just googled "youngest" mother in the world ... OK, will take some of those entries on Wikipedia with a grain of salt. I really enjoyed the first book in this series.
But, I did lower my expectations a bit starting this one. Why? Well, I have been burned in the past with too high expectations with a series.

We have a bit of drama, we have a bit of lust, we have a bit of everything really. Logan is so cock sure of himself. I love that Grace does not bow down to his total manliness.... she is strong, independent, knows what she wants... she does want him but she is not going down without him having to grovel.

Friends! Mmmm, I don't think so ...

I won't say too much as you are better off just reading it without seeing too many quotes.

GOD THIS GUY IS INCORRIGIBLE. AND TOO DAMN GORGEOUS FOR HIS OWN GOOD. HIS CHISELED JAW IS COVERED WITH SCRUFF, AS IF HE HASN'T SHAVED IN DAYS ....

The cover is perfect to depict Logan so I am not even going to waste my time on Pinterest looking for him ...

Loved meeting the characters from THE DEAL!

The Ivers family practically founded Massachusetts, and we've got some Scottish and Irish roots, I think.

Of course you do, Grace... no wonder I fecking loved you.

There are some real LOL moments in this book. I was grinning like an ape for a lot of it.

I gave the last book 4 stars. I think Logan's struggle and his commitment to family was really heart wrenching and that is why it was maybe a better read for me.

Cannot wait for the next book in the series. Dean, maybe?

.... AND AN EPILOGUE!!!

I'm definitely obsessed with Elle Kennedy's books 馃ぉ

I love Logan and Grace so much it's inhuman, I swear. The whole thing about Logan's list of things to do to get Grace's forgiveness was adorable, I think it was my favorite chapters in the whole book 馃ス

Oh god, and how bad I felt with the whole Logan's father thing, it broke my heart. Thank goodness we got to see that he recovered in the epilogue 馃ス

The next book is Dean's (which, to be honest, is the one I'm least interested in out of the 4) and I'm not in a hurry to read it, what I'm most excited about is knowing what will happen with Allie, Hannah's best friend, so I know I'll enjoy the book at least

If you haven't heard of a book called The Deal by this same author, then you definitely need to go and check it out. I read this book a few months ago and fell in love with characters and story. It was amazeballs and I totally recommend it. Once I heard Logan would be getting his own book. I could not wait to dive right into this one. And, it did not disappoint.

John Logan, Garrett's cocky best friend, can't seem to get rid of his pesky crush on Garret's girlfriend Hannah. He doesn't want to lose his friendship, so he decides to go out and screw Hannah out of his mind. It isn't hard for him to find a willing woman, since the guy oozes charm. But then an address mix up to a party lands him to Grace's door, a college freshman. Logan starts talking to Grace after finding out they share a mutual like of action movies, something he hasn't done with any girl in a while. Graces proves to be the perfect distraction, or at least she seems to be. He is unsure about his feelings for both Grace and Hannah. Unfortunately, things go down that cause Grace to push him away. Logan is determined to not let Grace go.

I can't believe Elle Kennedy did it again. I applaud you. This was a great second book in the series! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little scared of maybe being disappointed with this one, which can happen with the second book of a series, but that was SO not the case here. This book was full of steam and humour. I LOVED Logan! How could I not? He was funny and very easy going, not to mention really hot! I even really liked Grace. She was a freshman and a virgin, and very sweet. She doesn't really fit in with anyone, and definitely has her quirks which were very humourous. I totally liked her personality. She was adorable and perfect for Logan.

I loved this book! It was a great second installment. I loved seeing Garrett and Hannah in this book, as well as some new characters make an appearance. I had some great laughs with this one, and the steam was super-hot for an NA book. I loved seeing another part of Logan that we didn't get to see from the first book. There was more to him than what meets the eye. He has to deal with an alcoholic father and that was something that was hurtful for me to read. I was so glad he met Grace and had her support through some of those tough moments. Overall, I was very happy with Logan's book and seriously can't wait for Tucker and Dean to get their own book...hopefully. If you read and loved The Deal as much as I did, than you must give The Mistake a read as well. I highly recommend this one.

鈥淵ou鈥檙e the last person I think about before I go to sleep, and the first person I think about when I open my eyes in the morning. You鈥檙e it for me, baby.鈥

The Mistake is another enjoyable Hockey romance from Elle Kennedy, and I never thought I鈥檇 say this, but she is now my favourite author of sports romances. This woman writes this genre so well鈥攏o matter the trope, she nails it every time. I thought she might make the virgin trope in this story feel cringey, but she handled it so gracefully. Though this book wasn鈥檛 as good as The Deal, it was wholesome and absolutely swoon-worthy.

Grace was sweet, thoughtful, and understanding. She really knows how to make men grovel because the things she made Logan do were so fun. She may seem naive and innocent because of her virgin status, but Grace is incredibly secure in herself, and I really liked that about her. When Logan messed up bad, she made sure he knew he was in the wrong and made him work to earn her forgiveness (and a date with her). Even though I didn鈥檛 love how she handled the Ramona situation, I鈥檓 glad she eventually stood up for herself. Honestly, I need to get my hands on that groveling list so I can make men beg and cry in the future.

鈥淎nd just in case my reaction to your idiocy didn鈥檛 make it clear where I stand with us, then let me spell it out for you.鈥 I whirl around to scowl at him. 鈥淚 love you, you stupid jackass.鈥

Logan is one of the most popular guys at Briar. He鈥檚 sweet, caring, and the biggest cinnamon roll who wanted love but didn鈥檛 realize it. For a while, he thought he was in love with Garrett鈥檚 amazing girlfriend, Hannah. He鈥檚 an incredible guy, but when it came to Grace, he always managed to screw up. That said, he also earned the title of Groveling King in this book because this man knows how to grovel. He did everything he could to win Grace back, and all his big and small gestures only made me love him more. Logan鈥檚 strained relationship with his dad added a vulnerable element to his character development鈥攈ow his dad鈥檚 alcoholism affected his dreams and life. It was raw and real, and I liked how Kennedy handled the whole situation.

鈥淚 mean it, Grace, I鈥檓 in this for the long haul. You still have two years left at Briar, and I鈥檒l be in Munsen during that time, but I promise you, I鈥檒l come see you as often as I can. Every available second I have will be yours.鈥 His voice thickens. 鈥淚鈥檓 yours.鈥

Logan and Grace are the perfect example of we don鈥檛 fit in each other鈥檚 lives, but somehow, we do. They might be the cutest couple in the series, and they had so many sexy, funny, and sweet moments together. I loved how protective Logan was of Grace and how he made her feel confident鈥攂oth inside and outside the bedroom. Their romance was perfect, and I loved watching them fall in love, especially as Logan slowly realized how much he craved love and how he finally found it in Grace. The strangers to lovers arc was beautifully executed, and the way Kennedy developed both the emotional and physical intimacy between them was just chef鈥檚 kiss.

鈥淗annah was trying to describe love to me last semester. She said it feels like your heart is about to overflow, and that when you love someone, you need them more than anything else in the world, more than food or water or air. That鈥檚 how I feel about you.鈥

I鈥檓 already so in love with this series, these characters, and their joyful, lovely, unforgettable love stories鈥擨 don鈥檛 want to leave their world just yet.

FOUR STARS
{BR with Mel, Sharon, and Dee}

I really enjoyed this book. It had some lovable characters, a few laugh out loud moments, and definitely several panty melting inducing scenes as well.

Although I found this an enjoyable read, I couldn't help but compare it to "The Deal", and find that it didn't quite measure up. I didn't like that Logan was so hung up on Hannah, and then the realization later on just made me roll my eyes a bit.

Grace was a very head strong heroine and she didn't put up with any of Logan's crap. After he F's up royally with her, she makes him suffer for quite a while. I thought she kind of was a little too harsh with him and not quite enough with her supposed best friend, Ramona.

Logan had his swoon worthy moments, especially when he saves Grace's reputation after some slanderous comments are made about her on the internet. AND his tenacity to win her affections back had my heart fluttering at times. His family dynamic was pretty messed up and his reasons for turning down the chance to make it to Pro Hockey was not really believable to me.

But there were some very memorable funny moments and once Logan got his head out of his ass, I was rooting for this couple to resolve their issues and get their HEA.

Overall, this series is pretty fabulous and is one that is not to be missed!! If you haven't already, go out and get these books! You won't regret it!!

(it鈥檚 actually a 3.5) john logan is so witty and cute and had me smiling the whole way through. and i absolutely loved grace and found her super relatable (i love you, you stupid jackass) sounds like something that would come directly out of my mouth. why is it a 3.5 then destiny? i felt like this book was super fast paced which i liked, but i felt like it really lacked a storyline. he makes a mistake that doesn鈥檛 happen until about 35/40% ish through the book and then after that it鈥檚 solved super soon. that was my only problem but it was enjoyable nonetheless!

4.5 Understanding What You Actually Want Stars
* * * * 1/2 Spoiler Free
Earlier this year I had the extreme pleasure of reading The Deal by Elle Kennedy (/review/show...). I blatantly stated my admiration of how she took a genre, New Adult, and made it work for someone who usually doesn't gravitate to it. I went on to talk about how she used all of her talents to make her characters not whine or manipulate to get what they wanted and just "manned up" time and time again. I was so happy about this book I begged all of my friends and anyone who would listen to read it.

And they did....and most felt the same way I did.

In this next installment, The Mistake,
we continue with the characters we met in the previous book plus our new love interest for Logan. Ah... Logan.

Logan, Garrett's best friend has been dealing with a huge problem...we had an inkling of it at the end of book one...He seems to be crushing big time on Hannah...Garrett's woman. Yup... this is not good...and he knows it... and feels all types of bad stuff...shame, want and just unease... He is having a real hard time dealing with all of it ...so booze and broads are the way he is blocking out these confusing feelings.

But they are not really working and now his other buddies are getting weird about his crankiness and anti-social behavior. He realizes he just has to suck it up and stop behaving like an ass.....and he will after this last party.

We meet Grace... she is a freshman and has led the uneventful life of smart, capable, and predictable. The only way she has colored outside her lines is with the encouragement of Romona, her childhood friend. They were both kinda opposite in ways...and Grace allowed Romona to push her to her limits...But this friendship sort of worked...and they decided to apply to Briar and room together.

Once again, Grace is being pushed by Romona. There is a party happening and the target is Dean, star Hockey player...for Romona has him in her sights and will not let up for anything. She insists on having Grace come...and there they are at the house. Logan is there too...and so drunk, he will not remember bumping into Grace after he finishes with some type of hook up in the upstairs bathroom. Grace cannot believe how amazing he looks in person and just files the meeting away in the back of her mind.

Logan is realizing he is lost and one last escape from the house with Garrett and Hannah all lovey-dovey proves it. He high tails it to a gathering he was told about but cannot remember the number of the room....ending up by mistake at Grace's dorm room. She opens the door, stunned to see him there. He asks about the gathering, confirms he must be in the wrong place, and explains he has no phone to see where. Grace, when nervous blathers...and because she is really nervous with this muscular God in her doorway, she talks about stranger danger, Ted Bundy, and serial killers. This is so damn cute...Logan just kind of watches...and assures her he is no threat...and just wants to use her phone.

With every relationship or meeting... there is that connecting point... it is something we all have experienced in our lives...it is when we know we have something with this other person...It doesn't have to be earth-shattering...it just has to mean a little something which reveals an insight to them which you can hold on to...and in the revealing of Grace's love of action flicks, these two had that moment.

Things happen... touches and kisses which ring bells and whistles...and both of them get really carried away...and then not...Logan and Grace both kinda freak out... him with a quick exit and doubt...her with a feeling of meh...

Logan doesn't know what to do with this doubt... it bugs him big time and confronts Grace the next day. After they figure out their issues... this two sort of hang together a bit... but during all of these times...there are other issues happening ... family promises and responsibilities hamper Logan.

He is awash in misery...his father is an alcoholic who just cannot seem to make rehab stick. He has lived for a large part of his young adult life with a missing dad...either missing figuratively or just checked out in the booze. His other brother Jeff has run the auto shop and handled the dad so Logan could go to college and play hockey. Promises were made... time is running out for Logan... he will soon have to give up everything he loves to relieve Jeff and take over the shop and care of the dad.

Grace is fighting new experiences too...she is feeling like she is only following in Romona's footsteps...the only friends she has made are Romona's and she doesn't even like them all that much. They have caused her distress and she is thinking maybe this roommate thing with her childhood friend is not the best.

Grace is happy with Logan; she decides she wants to be WITH him...and when all of it comes together...Logan fumbles...he says and does somethings that cause pain for both...It only takes a moment and conversation with a good friend to figure out he effed up big time. Grace is important to him and he wants to fix it... he needs to fix it...

This is a simple yet complicated love story that just works... the conflicts are real not manipulated. I would suspect those who went to college and had the coming of age experience there... would relate to this.

Because during those years... so many things can happen...The pressure of new people and the baggage they bring... the feeling of finding your way in a big ocean after being in the small high school pond. Understanding your bodies and all of the urges which can cloud your judgment without the buffers or safety net of restrictions by the parental figures in your lives...These are things that can just be the tip of the iceberg in maturing...and they are touched on in this story.

The other thing I loved was the sex is not porn perfect... it is kids being who they are and all of the doubt and hang-ups of it all. And the moments when Logan figures it all out... swoon-worthy.

In fact, Logan is The Man... He makes mistakes and works to rectify them. He is loyal to a fault with his family; his heart will make you wish he was part of your family. His love for Grace and willingness to go the extra mile for her... priceless. He will be your stealth book boyfriend.

Grace is wonderful, too. She is not a weeping willow- she has an inner core of what she thinks is right and sticks to it. She is fortunate to have parents who each in their way gave her the foundation to be who she is and have their support. She makes some tough decisions, sticks to them, and in the end... they pay off. She grows on you...and you will like her.

Elle Kennedy has taken a time where people develop into who they will become. She has stripped it down to the basics and made it relatable. I was able to put myself into these people's lives and be there with them every step of the way through their POVs. The drama and issues are things which many may have experienced in their own lives...here we just get to see how it can just come together and be good.

This is not an earth-shattering story...but it does give us a love that is earth-shattering for our Grace and Logan...and in the end...isn't what we all want?

I am looking forward to the next fella and his story...Maybe Dean...we shall just have to wait and see.

John Logan feels!

description

I've buddyread this book with my pretty sis Bea who by the way, just celebrated her birthday yesterday. Belated happy birthday, sis! :) (Click her name to read her awesome review) :)

is the second book of the Off-Campus series. This time around, the story focuses on John Logan, star defenseman of Briar's hockey team, and Grace Ivers, a freshman girl who's been infatuated with him ever since she attended college at Briar. After Logan mistakenly went to the wrong room which was Grace's, the sexual tension slowly built up between them. Being a popular and desirable hottie, Logan didn't plan to seriously fall for Grace since he's got tons of personal issues. Grace on the other hand, was extremely attracted to him so when Logan practically dumped her, she promised to never again engage herself with him. Too late because Logan finally realized his 'mistake' and is now chasing after her.

Although I like the first book much better, this book is still a very fun and enjoyable read. Since , I already found Logan's character interesting so I decided to really read it ASAP because I feel like I'll be missing a lot if I won't. And wow, I really loved it! The story was typical college romance but it didn't feel like a clich茅 to me. It's because the story is just written so good! The main characters are also the cutest thing ever! Logan and Grace made me fall in love with their romantic interactions and steamy encounters. The chemistry was undeniable and the relationship development amazed me. There was also no insta-love and no cheating involved, and the spark was already visible the moment they collided.

Not only did this book offer swoon-worthy moments and sexy times, but there was also family drama that made me tear up at some point. Plus, there were lots of funny moments that made me cracked up so many times I lost count! (Highlight of the year: The red velvet couch. Lol) I especially love the "wooing" moments here. Isn't it so great when a guy extends so much effort just to ask for the girl's forgiveness and to prove that he's worth a second chance? Talk about the feels!

quickly becomes one of my favorite New Adult authors. It's hard not to fangirl with her because her writing style is especially the best! There's emotional depth in her stories and the humor totally makes them an overall entertaining read. Plus, she really knows how to draw brilliant characters. What more can a reader ask?
