The best thing about Murakami's writing style is his articulation - how he manages to describe the most complex of situations with mere everyday words. Translating Murakami, hence, requires an intricate understanding of the subtlety of expressions, which was missing in this book. Especially for the story "Barn Burning", if anyone already reads the English version of the story (from the book "The Elephant Vanishes"), s/he would be able to confirm that the Bengali readers have been clearly misdirected from grasping the actual notion of the story's conclusion. It is an incredibly beautiful story, which has been made to seem pointless and vague due to poor translation.
What an amazing collection! Though I've already watched the movies "Tony Takitani (2004) " and "Burning (2018)" I still loved the stories. But personally my fav would be "The wind cave" cz there is so much emotion going on and it just comes out of a broken heart.
And again its just Murakami being Murakami. There is nothing else that can describe him. It's a Murakami class!
