This book gives an excellent introduction to the theory of special relativity. Professor Resnick presents a fundamental and unified development of the subject with unusually clear discussions of the aspects that usually trouble beginners. He includes, for example, a section on the common sense of relativity. His presentation is lively and interspersed with historical, philosophical and special topics (such as the twin paradox) that will arouse and hold the reader's interest. You'll find many unique features that help you grasp the material, such as worked-out examples,summary tables,thought questions and a wealth of excellent problems. The emphasis throughout the book is physical. The experimental background, experimental confirmation of predictions, and the physical interpretation of principles are stressed. The book treats relativistic kinematics, relativistic dynamics, and relativity and electromagnetism and contains special appendices on the geometric representation of space-time and on general relativity. Its organization permits an instructor to vary the length and depth of his treatment and to use the book either with or following classical physics. These features make it an ideal companion for introductory courses.

وبغض النظر عن دكتور محمد حسن وعن إني كنت هسقط في المادة ديه :D
بس الكتاب ده فعلا كويس
ومناسب جدنا لدراسة النسبية للمرة الأولى , والرياضيات بتاعته سهلة وبسيطة

I must say that this book sets right many a wrong notions undergrads have about STR. This is an important book in the sense that it puts into its readers mind, the right thinking patterns and does so without invoking heavy duty math.

Easily the best introductory book for self-study given the amount of worked out numerical examples and time spent developing the subject. For those at least familiar with the topic and have a solid grasp of basic differential and integral calculus.

اولین ی کتابی که نسبیت خاص اینشتین را در آن مطالعه کردم. خیلی دوستش دارم، هنوز هم هیجان زایدالوصفی را به خاطر دارم در شبی که برای اولین بار از این کتاب خواندم که چگونه رابطه‌�� معروف اینشتین به دست می‌آی��.

A magificent literary masterpiece of joy and sorrow, tragedy and hope, love and despair. With brilliant twists and turns, Robert Resnick's classic "Introduction to Special Relativity" will take you on an epic journey that will fundamentally change your understanding of human nature, the world we live in, the War of 1812 and the Finnish economy. An absolutely fantastic piece of literature when I read it back in 1957 at the age of 8, and now as I re-read it as a 82 year old man, it is just as phenomenally poignant as it was when I first read it. As the great author Frank Lloyd Wright once said: "I have this thing where I get older but just never wiser. Midnights become my afternoons."

Good introductory book on STR. Good physical explanations. There are better than this though.

A truly well-written book to mathematically understand the Special Theory of Relativity. Would recommend to first-year physics undergraduates although high-school students can also understand it.
