Cartoons and humorous quotes.

Ashleigh Brilliant is painfully underrated. I stumbled across his work during a particularly cold evening in the English Department's common area. As you'd imagine an English Department would be like, ours had books scattered on every table and stand for students to browse through while they wait for professors or take a break from work. I picked up this anthology of funny one-liners and it was so hard to keep my teary laughter quiet in that serene space. I immediately ordered his book and been recommending him to anyone who would and wouldn't ask. Besides the incredible one-liners and pleasant drawings, you can tell he's a phenomenally sharp writer and thinker. In this book, he organized his pot-shots in sections with specific themes. He prefaced every section with a paragraph or two talking about the content up ahead. I was hooked on his style of writing immediately; his writing is of humor and precision which is a hard combo to come by -- let alone do so phenomenally. I'm used to the conventional humor or comedy content that's more story-oriented and prefer it over observational humor. But Ashleigh Brilliant drew me in and gave me a new appreciation for personal and observational humor told in short paragraphs, single sentences, and creative drawings.

If you're someone who uses humor to get make sense of the world or to process difficult and complicated feelings, much like the therapists he mentions early one, I would prescribe him to you.

Fourth in the series from Ashleigh Brilliant - there isn't much to say about this that people haven't said about the first three, but as the content is all new, that's not a bad thing and the series remains fresh and refreshing.

If you just scatter enough words about, you're bound to hit a gem every now and again. Brilliant has a better-than-average skill at this--some form of the library angel, mayhaps. Several of the things I'd been looking for are in this volume.
