Some of the dialogue has become very repetitive. If thier eyes were to widen any more they would roll out. On top of having thier emotion expressed with widening eyes there felt like a lot of filler material was included just to stretch the number of words. I've noticed it getting worse with each volume as well.
Author has made the main character's (Rio-Haruto) retinue (Celia, Latifa, Miharu, Aki, etc) (incapable, weak, unable to fend for themselves, etc.) So that his powerful and capable spirit Aisha spends most of her time babysitting. Aisha is as strong and capable as Rio and should be helping Rio when fighting the monsters and evil antagonists. If Aisha fought alongside Rio when Lucius was escaping, he would not have escaped. But because author uses Aisha as a babysitter, then she helps very little if at all. Rio spends most of the time saving people like Flora (second princess Beltrum) (saves her more than 4 times already) Liselotte (princess Galarc, guildmaster of Ricca) saves her more than twice, in exchange for nothing for the purpose of nothing. These "victims" are meat shields, weak minded, incapable, and talentless to the avalanche of evil people that do as they please. This repeats forever in this light novel. Rio has little or no ambition. Has little or no vision of change and improvement. Wants to find Aki's half-brother (supposedly teleported as a hero) and another teleported girl. (because he wants Aki and Mosato to not worry about these people anymore). Haruto gains nothing. Nor do Mosato or Aki do anything for Haruto (Rio). Author has a double standard, saves (Japanese teleported, Flora Liselotte, etc.) all of the time, doesn't do anything for anyone else. Rescues forever and always the same inept and incapable victims and avoids the captured slaves of the people of this alternate reality dystopia (evil world). Rio's only objective and the author's only plot main arc, getting revenge and killing Lucius, was not fulfilled at the end of volume 7, because the author prioritized the well-being of the second princess Flora. Flora has done nothing to compensate Rio for all of the times he has saved her life. Because she is a weak person, unskilled and weak-minded character, all she does is fall victim to the next time she is used as a pawn-meat shield, etc. most problems to Rio (bullying, torture, false accusations, assassination attempts, etc.) have saving Flor as its origin. There is no point to doing this over and over again, forever. King (Garcías Idea) allows RIo to study at the magic school (to spy on him, control him) and allow all of the "nobles" children to bully, abuse Rio. This author is unwilling to improve the situation for the "few good" characters (Rio, retinue, Spirit Folk). There is no point to the teleportation and summoning of the people from Earth to this evil dystopian world. (Unless the point is to torture, abuse, enslave, rape, etc. them) Hiroaki is a "hero" summoned by Flora, who complains, eats, and does little or nothing to protect, save and improve this evil world. This contradiction is ironic and tiring to read. It is a very unjust and unfair light novel. The worst is possibly that the author does nothing to improve things.
I have really enjoyed this series. Book 7 was filled with action and so I ordered book 8 as soon as I could. Then I read book 8 and nothing happened. There was no action. Rio did not develop any of his relationships . I get to the end of the volume and I realize I might as well have not read it. It seemed half the size of other volumes . I feel like I paid for a filler arc. Now I wonder if I will read any more of this series. Wow I'm so bummed because I was so looking forward to this volume.
This book was more about the aftermath of the previous book and a bit about the daily life of the characters. I mainly got the feeling that it was more of a lead into the next book rather than a true story in itself. It was like it was wrapping up the previous book and then setting up for what was going to happen in the next book so don’t expect much from this.
Another excellent and great addition to the series once again, with great character growth, the main character trying to grow as a person, and great interactions with the various side characters. Though, a pretty brutal cliffhanger LOL.
This book is a very easy read. It rolls out some backstory but not over whelming you. It also gives the hint of telling of the timeline difference. Which was sorta nagging at me. Could probably use a little more action. But all in all a pleasant read.
The shoddy dialogue and repeat explanations killed this novel. What is it with Japanese authors thinking they need to explain what they already made obvious.
