The author writes that it is a serious crime for the "heroes" and visitors to leave the castle "without permission". I do not know why the author would make this alternate reality world such a hellish place. The people summoned and teleported do not give their consent (ever) and still they are treated like prisoners. What is the point of creating an isekai light novel where the other worlders are enslaved, abused, kidnapped etc? The local people are mistreated, enslaved and abused as well. So why would someone create through writing this hell of a world? Who would allow all of this abuse? Why isn't there any justice or fairness in this hell? Why is Rio so worried about helping Aki, Sumato and Miharu, if he has not gained anything and been flooded by problems and conflicts with all of the nobles and kingdoms? The author writes about all the parties, and all the shopping and all of the eating but the main character and his retinue spend the majority of the time in this hell of a world hidden away from the corrupt and depraved human nobles. Aki, Sumato and probably some of the heroes wish to return to Earth, but Hirato (Rio) has no Earth to go back to because he was "killed" in the bus accident (where Rikka and Latifa also died. Aki and Sumato want to see if the last 2 missing heroes could be their brother. The only Other than getting revenge and killing Lucius, Rio has no other goals. This is why, the author spends a majority of the light novel, talking about shopping, eating, bathing, and irrelevant conversations (feelings and emotions). So the light novel has no real plot in volume 2-6 then 8-9 and I hope the author gets back on track soon. The author makes Rio (Haruto) androgynous, as to not stand out and be as invisible as possible. Makes Rio not have ambition, nor desire, so the author doesn't even talk about money. Rio does not make any money, but spends highly on lingerie, food ingredients, clothes for all of his friends and retinue. It is illogical and nonsensical that this person would accept to become an honorary knight (to have even more responsibilities and to be tied down by the human kingdoms that have never ever helped him, but have tried to have him tortured, killed, harm him and his friends, etc. there is no point to this story, the evil nobles, terrorists and ambassadors (Riess, Lucius, etc) create massacres, destroy cities and towns, and nothing ever happens to them or the Proxia Empire (that is not really an empire).
Another very fun addition to the series and they must get the volume to be sure. The main character is very interesting, and that he has a great balance of incredibly powerful, and very humble as well. It is interesting that him being humble doesn’t really come from a sense of false modesty, at least not completely, but an awareness of the social dynamics he is involved with when concerning royalty. It is an interesting twist in my opinion. Though, if you have gotten to this volume, you will know that he is rather dense in terms of romance, that is a fairly common theme along this genre. Ultimately, it left with a rather fun and enjoyable cliffhanger.
Getting pretty intense these days. Reveal, and reunions driving the story forward. I'm loving every page. Can't wait for the next volume, and I am hoping the series continues past 10.
