In this book, Mai Mannaseh describes the troubled psychology of modern Lebanon symbolically through her traumatized, orphaned, psychogenically mute protagonist.
Very easy to read; it's written in 2-3 page paragraphs. The existentialist or soul searching paragraphs are good, although they remind me too much of blogs. But then between each three of these Mannaseh forces in a tear-jerking mexican series twist, which just feels out of place.
