He was my foster brother.
He swore to protect me.
He failed.
They all failed.
I’m an open box of passé photographs, snapped in chaste daylight, but filtered in sepia. I’m the past that he tried to forget, and he was the future I needed. When he left six years ago, I screamed for him every night. But then it all stopped. My screams were suddenly muffled by cruelty, and further coaxed by pain.
But he has come back. He’s not the cute big brother I had a furtive crush on, or the bad boy, rich brat that I hated to love.
He’s the ruthless vice president of Wolf Pack MC, and he doesn’t answer to Royce Kane anymore.
He answers to Sicko.

Dark and delicious! Looking for your next mindf*ck from Amos Jones? She delivers!!

Sicko is a gritty, delightful treat about perseverance, unconditional love, and finding hope, even in darkness. It’s equal parts sexy, edgy, and thrilling. These characters are larger than life and the twist and turns you’ll experience while reading this book will certainly keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page.

I instantly fell in love with both Royce and Jade. There’s no doubt they were meant for one another. Their connection is palpable and magnetic. And despite all they endure, their love was constant and unwavering. Gah! It hit me right in the feels!

Amo Jones delights in pushes the limits and I enjoyed each and every moment of being stretched to the max!

P.S. Wicked Is Mine!

5+ F*CK FATE CROWNS

LORD. I’m all up in my feelings at the moment. It’s been about an hour since finishing Sicko, and I feel bereft, like I’m floating around aimlessly. What do I do? How do I leave Jade and Royce behind? I don’t want to. I’m not ready.

Jade is FIERCE. While she suffers in this book, she endures. There is a quiet strength to her. She isn’t loud or boisterous, but she carries a lot in her shoulders for those she lovers. Her strength is unparalleled, and she, I might dare say, is Amo’s strongest heroine. She is beyond words.

Royce is so different then her other heroes. His alpha nature is silent. His dominance is quiet and subtle. It is there. It is just different. It oozes off of him versus being something that he walks around shouting about. There is pain in his life and it has shaped the man he becomes, the man with dark parts that match his soul. His love for Jade is infinite, and he is willing to do anything and be anything for her, and that is what will win readers over.

This story. I wasn’t expecting it. I can tell you that after reading the few chapters she released in an anthology, I had an idea of the basis of Sicko, but it is so much more than that. There is, like all Amo bkkks a layering to the stories. The pieces falling together when she wants them to be revealed. It truly felt like I was in a whirlwind at the end. Most importantly, the themes of family being more than blood and of love and soulmates being something that transcends is beautiful.

The Wolfpack MC is a whole new world filled with lovable characters. God, I want stories for them all. This is a standalone, so absolutely no guarantees on that, but get ready to fall in love with a new crew of secondary characters.

This is a DARK romance, so this book won’t be for the faint of heart, but Amo handles these moments and scenes with such grace. It isn’t gratuitous but important to the characters and their journey. It is essential to them and who they are and their journey to their HEA.

Sicko easily slides into one of the top spots I have for my Amo books. It is heart wrenching and hopeful, a story that stayed with me long after it was over. It moved me. It played with my emotions. It was everything.

After much deliberating and ping ponging around with what to rate this book I've decided on 3.5 stars.

Sicko was one book I was highly anticipating!! I needed it in my life and I was one happy bitch when it landed on my ipad!!

Ok so this does come with a warning which is new by this author, she never does that!! We readers know what she's capable of, we know she likes to f#ck with us, so the question is, are we prepared?

This is where it missed the mark for me, I was hoping she'd wreck havoc on my dark soul but sadly it didn't live up to that warning. I crave, need, to feed that dark side of myself and I had everything crossed hoping that this book would give me everything I wished for. With a name like Sicko I was expecting to read more than one scene, I wanted it all.

With my dark reads I’ve become very picky with my ratings, mainly because I’ve gone pitch dark and that’s where my dark soul seems to be the happiest. I waited and waited for this to lead me down a dark path, it did eventually come but I would’ve liked with that warning more than what we got. But in saying that new readers taking a step towards the dark side proceed with caution, that warning is for you.

The storyline was all twisty and suspenseful which I loved, throw in one certain sex scene and my inner sl#t was rejoicing!! Oh and hands off girls Wicked is mine!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥I hope we get his story!! I need more!! I didn't really connect with our hero, I was more drawn to the dark, broody, silent Wicked, sadly he outshone Sicko.

This author is taking the book world by storm, book after book her writing just gets better, from her storylines to uniqueness she's unstoppable!! And I still stand by this..Sadly this book just wasn't for me..

More of an outline or a rough draft than a finished novel

Disclaimer: none of the content that Jones prefaced the novel with a trigger warning for offended me. What offended me was the writing.

The novel's premise is a dark romance involving sort of step-siblings Jade and Royce Kane. When Royce was a toddler, the Kane family adopts baby Jade. The two are very close growing up, and together with Royce's two best friends are a tight-knit friend group. When Royce is 18 and Jade is 15, they go to a house party where Royce is stabbed and hospitalized after a fight. Nothing comes from this, and after an undisclosed amount of time, he leaves home and tells no one why or where he's going. Jade is heartbroken, and soon afterward, her (step)father starts raping and abusing her.

The book picks back up four years later, where Jade inexplicably transfers from Stanford to UCLA medical school (even though Jones never mentioned her completing her bachelor's prior to turning 19. I guess Jones thinks that you can just casually transfer universities straight into a prestigious medical program with no BS, no MCAT, and no extracurriculars). There she meets up with Royce, now Sicko, who is now practically the second in command of the motorcycle club he belongs to (again, no explanation of how he rose in ranks so quickly or why he joined other than a quick scene of a woman at a gas station telling him to go into their bar one day then mysteriously disappearing as he pumped said gasoline). Roy is very hot and cold with Jade. He tells her wants to sleep with her then to get away from him the next minute.

While this is happening, Jade keeps getting texted by her dad to meet up, and he eventually takes her to a super secret, super exclusive sex club that brands the women who enter (this branding is never brought up again). Also, as an aside, her father's name is Kyle, and at the end of the novel during the big reveal she discloses that she renamed him James in her mind to dissociate from the abuse (which is fine, but she said it so nonchalantly and chose a name only two letters off from her own which is never explained).

The dad is both working with his son as what appears to be a drug mule underling and has his own business as a prolific human trafficker that apparently no one knows about. He pulls dumb shenanigans like killing a cartel member to get them angry at the MC and killing the MC President's wife to make them angry at the cartel, all while sending his son creepy torture sex tapes of Jade and him to Royce.

Anyway, Royce and Jade finally hook up after he has a threesome with his roommate and her and a partial fivesome with her, his roommate, his two childhood best friends (remember them? The author kept trying to sneak info about them in, as if she expected us to already possess the knowledge of their lives even though she never mentioned it at all), and himself.

Later on, the four guys rescue Jade from a sex slave auction and finally capture the dad. At this point, the whole plot goes to shit. Prior to this, the book wasn't well written, since the author couldn't decide what time period she wanted to write about and seemed incapable of informing the readers of when she switching between the past and the present.

Here's what she managed to fit in what felt like less than two chapters:

-Jade helped the dad, her rapist escape, to enact a dramatic showdown, but in the process let him blow up the MC clubhouse

-Royce apparently left home because after the hospitalization, his dad (who was so disguised his own son and his son's childhood friends who were always at his house didn't recognize him) forced the four guys to sleep with each other for some reason. Was it filmed? Was it blackmail? Was it a fetish? We don't know, Jones didn't say

-Royce's roommate (one of the four) raped Jade when she was 15 repeatedly on the orders of the dad, but apparently it's okay, because she looked older than 15. And he did it to altruistically save his sister (who I guess the dad kidnapped to make a sex slave, too, but Jones never expands on this so why should we care)

-Jade's real parents are the MC president and one of the dad's first sex slaves.

-The dad and the president were friends in high school, but after a car accident where the dad's girlfriend died, the dad chose to take up a life of crime and spin a bunch of crazy webs to enact revenge (in the form of raping the president's daughter, whose conception he manipulated)

-Jade, despite mentioning frequently how much she dissociated when she was raped by the dad, managed to free Roy's roommate's sister when she was 15

-the sister then found Jade's mom (who by the way faked her own death and went on the run, but somehow had a bat signal that helped her locate another freed sex slave) and the two started a vigilante group of ~•~powerful~•~ women

-that group? Anonymous (like okay, V for Vendetta, calm down). Does Jones ever explain how a homeless woman and a teenage girl managed to start such a power organization that in just 4 years would be able to do crazy things like infiltrating a US military base willy-nilly.

-that same group is also able to plot with Jade, even though she's closely monitored by the dad.

-the cops arrest the dad and joke about how long they'll need him before they turn him over to Royce to be killed

𝕊𝕥𝕠𝕣𝕪𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕖: Adopted into the Kane family as an infant, Jade forms an intense bond with her older foster brother, Royce. Overly protective from the start, no one is more surprised and traumatized than Jade when he mysteriously takes off one night—leaving her alone when she needed him the most.

Four years later and Jade is no longer the young girl who idolized her foster brother—and Royce now goes by a different name: Sicko. He’s back in her life to protect her from his enemies, but it’s already too late. There’s no saving her now.

Will these two stop fighting fate and give in to the bond their souls crave? Or will the monsters lurking in the dark be the ones to bring them both to their knees?
*~*~*~*
𝕊𝕖𝕩 𝕊𝕔𝕖𝕟𝕖𝕤: It bears mentioning that this book has a trigger warning/author note for a reason. Even if I focus solely on the two main characters the steamy scenes between them are still savagely erotic and filled with raw angst. The heat is blisteringly hot and Sicko redefines the OTT alpha male that Amo is known for. 🔥🔥🔥🔥/5 flames for frequency, description, and LOTS of variety.

$: $3.99 on all platforms! Amo pushes every limit with this standalone MC romance novel. I love how despite the gut-wrenching and HEAVY content of this book, Amo still manages to infuse epic girl power vibes and a sense of hope. I recommend going into this book blind—but prepare yourself for a gritty, raw, and *DARK* romance read that will keep you up well past your bedtime.

⚠️ I’m telling you now, that if you have triggers please consider reading the author note before going into this book. It’s a veeeery dark romance read.

GAH! Amo Jones just mic dropped the entire world with the brilliance of Sicko. This dark MC story allows readers a glimpse into this Author's dark and devious but ALWAYS sexy psyche making us demand more. Royce and Jade were beyond epic. Their story was gritty, intense, raw, passionate and so emotional. With Sicko, Jones declares to the world that she can once again deliver an outstanding blockbuster in any genre and will showcase her superior storytelling ability in the process.

Returning to her MC roots in Sicko, Jones tells the story of Royce "Sicko" Kane,Vice President of the Wolf Pack MC and his foster sister, Jade. This story was honestly one of Jones' best stories to date. It is fulled to the brim with blisteringly hot chemistry and passion. Royce and Jade have a painful history and as the story unfolded, my heart ached at their struggle. In particular, seeing Jade's pain and all she endured cut me to the core. But what I loved more than anything was the author's skillful portrayal of Jade's resilient spirit and her will to persevere. In addition, Royce might be this author's sexiest badass Alpha to date (sorry Nate!) His dedication and love for Jade was so profound it was almost written in the stars.

Overall, I loved Royce and Jade's connection and the threads that tied them together. This story was full of painful secrets and gritty moments but more than anything highlighted the strength of their love and how perfect they were for one another despite years of pain and turmoil between them. Amo Jones knocked it out of the park with this absolutely amazing story! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula

I’ve been a fan since day one of Amo Jones and her writing that draws you in with each book/character she’s written.

Sicko was dark, heartbreaking, soul searching it redefined what love was when your in total darkness and looking for a way out. Jade was an incredible character one who has this self worth and inner strength I’ve not seen before, she stands out and commands your attention. Her journey was one of pain and belief that there was a light at the end even though at the time I honestly couldn’t see how she’d come through it like she did, I’m a huge Tillie fan but jade has taken the lead...The subject matters are tough and yet handled with respect I admire Amo so much I can’t tell you.

Sicko aka Royce there are not enough words to describe how bloody gorgeous this man no wonder he’s been claimed lol he’s journey takes some unexpected turns I didn’t see coming but that’s the beauty of Amo’s writing twists & turns are her crowning glory one I hope she never changes.

Breathtakingly beautiful, strength, honour, belief.....and a whole group of sexy arse men WICKED WAS LIFE! he needs a book just sayin!

Amo Jones has completely outdone herself with this incredible book! This book was undoubtedly phenomenal and nothing short of the epicness I have always come to find from the Dark Queen herself.

I won’t lie, this book was extremely difficult to read at times due to the dark and sensitive nature (please read the authors trigger warning), but I would not have it any other way. Amo Jones doesn’t slide past the dark and gritty, no she gives you all of the bad with the good. She doesn’t just give you hearts and rainbows, she gives you the pain, anger, and trauma that it takes to get to the love, lust and happiness. She gives you the raw and real like no other author I have ever experienced.

This book was truly outstanding! The emotional rollercoaster that I was taken on brought out every possible feeling and emotion I could possibly imagine. I certainly didn’t leave this book with dry eyes. I felt everything Jade and Royce felt like I was there right along with them.

Jade has this quiet strength about her. She is extremely fierce and beyond loyal to those she loves. She experienced immense pain and trauma, but through it all she endures with her head held high and fighting for herself and those close to her. Jade is without a doubt one of my favorite heroines of all time.

And then there is Royce...this protective, possessive alpha has claimed a tight grip on my heart. Royce has this silent deadliness to him. The lengths he would go through to protect Jade and his family, because that is exactly what the Wolf Pack MC is, it truly something and watching it unfold throughout the book...it was nothing short of outstanding.

This book was dark and twisted, full of unexpected twists and turns, never quite knowing what was going to happen next. When it comes to Amo Jones...expect the unexpected.

Amo Jones is undoubtedly one of the most talented writers I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Her storytelling is truly one of a kind. Her words grab you tightly from beginning to end and no matter how many books you read hers never let you go.

What can I even say? The last review I wrote for Amo said her words are, "unapologetically savage, disturbing and jaw dropping!" and you know what? That doesn't even cover it! Now I don't know what I THOUGHT I was going to get when I started Sicko but I was not prepared!

This is Amo at her best! Sicko is meticulously written, insidious, gut wrenching, heart pounding and triumphant! I am under Amo's spell and I never want this magic to end! I know this is a standalone but I'm already prepared to beg for more!

This is one of those books that leaves you breathless from page to page, you want to devour it as quickly as you can but at the same time you want to savor every word because they're so amazingly addictive and compelling.

I do want to say this, there are tough subject matters in Sicko. Some scenes are vile, very intense, jarring, cruel and merciless. Amo does not censor these characters which makes this book both delectable and devious! What will I read next? Who knows.....my heart and head can't let this book go! I need more!!

That was one wild ride. You know a book is phenomenal when you can’t put it down and finish it in one sitting. Amo Jones definitely does not puck with fate with Royce and Jade’s story. Their journey was all sorts of messed up with bombs dropping left and right but their hea was inevitable. They were endgame. Nothing, not even time and pucked up situations would get in the way. The author delivered another out of the box type of read that is nothing out of the ordinary for extraordinary Amo Jones. She will blow your mind with this dark and epic story!

This is just my personal and honest opinion and like any review this should 'be taken with a grain of salt' as I'm sure this will be an unpopular opinion as many of my friends & fellow readers genuinely enjoy this book

Sicko is a Dark & Forbidden romance between foster siblings Royce (Sicko) and Jade. This book comes with a warning from the author that this book may be hard to read at times and it is extremely dark & twisted which as a reader I appreciate warnings & triggers as I know how important they can be for others but personally I don't need them (I generally get more triggered by how a topic is handled or told rather than the actual topic itself ie if the writing is good then I'm ok with the content). For me this particular warning was possibly part of the reason this book ended up as a let down. I will say I don't often read Dark Romances and not because I don't enjoy them, as truly I do, it's more so they tend to hardly ever live up to the hype for me and can fall more on the predictable and slightly formulaic side. But when the book starts out with a warning/premise like Sicko's did it's really hard to lower your expections. I mostly found this book underwhelming and dissapointing. This review might end up a mess and all over the place but for me that's pretty much how the book felt from chapter 2 onwards.

Jade - she was definitely an interesting character and their were times I could at least connect to her. What she went through is a heartbreaking situation that I would never wish upon anyone but I do not like the way in which this topic was handled, such an important issue that imo could've been written better and in a more engaging way but half the time I felt it was hard to make sense of Jade's actions and choices which were eventually explained at the very end but by then I had lost any attachment to her and honestly it didn't feel believable or cohesive to some of her thoughts or personality. I assume we we're purposely kept in the dark about this side of the story to help build 'intruige & mystery' but honestly I was ready for the story to wrap up long before her true intentions/twist was revealed and I was no longer invested in her story.

Royce/Sicko - He honestly could've shown up at the very end of the book and the story would've still played out the same. He felt like a secondary character & for me he felt non existent or non crucial to most of the story and the parts of the story he was involved in just didnt make and logical sense (more on this later). I never connected with him and any time he was mentioned I was either frustrated (and not in a good way) with his thoughts/actions to the point where I never felt his love or connection to Jade. I just didn't care enough about him and skimmed most of his parts. His nickname 'Sicko' felt like it should have played a bigger role in his personality and maybe then I would've enjoyed him more but it was mostly 'telling and hardly any showing' the Author definitely could've played up this part of the story as the warning had already stated the book would get dark so the whole 'Sicko' thing ended up feeling underplayed. The build up for his character and supposed darkness felt off, It had so much potential but for me it was wasted.

Wicked was by far the best character in the book. He was only a side character and was friends with Royce and a member of the MC and I would've gladly read about him and only him for majority of the book and I'm sure I would've loved it. His part and role in the story had more emotion and inturige than Jade & Royce's entire relationship.

The Communication in this book was horrible. It was an endless cycle of the two main characters going back and forward refusing to say what was happening in their lives but then also getting annoyed at each other for all the secrets and lack of open communication. I understand holding some things back but as the reader we had a pretty good idea of what was going on as well as certain things definitely had knowledge of so the fact that these two down right refused to communicate was just plain annoying.

I felt no chemistry or connection between the main couple it was mainly a lot of 'telling instead of showing' and I find if I can't connect to a coupleI usually don't even end up enjoying their steamy and personal scenes. I didn't enjoy those scenes in this book and they felt very average to me and I was mostly bored during them. The forbidden aspect wasn't really written in a way that ever made it feel forbidden and I honestly don't think anyone ever cared or objected to these two wanting to be together for the whole 'foster siblings' reason.

This next portion of the review will be tagged as a

For me personally the story wasn't dark enough. Yes it explored dark themes but it felt watered down for the most part and the flow of the story as well as the emotional connection just felt off.

This was without a doubt the most predictable story I have ever read to the point I felt like the story itself was making fun of its predictability. For 90% of the book nothing shocked, wowed or blindsided me and It felt intentionally predictable like maybe the author was making us think we had the whole story figured out and to only then throw in a last minute twist or two but by that point those things didn't make sense, wasn't believable or I personally just wasn't interested. Basically at this point I had already checked out and was no longer invested in the story.

I've noticed that with Amo's books (the one's I have read) seem to follow a similar formula and flow that by the time the story ends I've either worked out the plot twists or I've disconnected from the story/characters maybe others enjoy this style of writing but I do not which is sad as I do want to read Wicked's book but I'm afraid it'll only end up dissapointing me.

There is probably more I can say but honestly I'm just tired and I'm sure you are all sick of me also haha but like I said this review is most definetly an unpopular opinion one and those interested in this book should still read it. Also its midnight here so this review might not even make sense and have 100 typos, I'm sure ill edit and redo it later😅😭

It’s no secret that Sicko was one of my most anticipated reads this year. Amo is seriously the queen of dark romance, and she majorly fucked some shit up in this one. Be aware that there are some very dark themes in this book.

My gosh. I’m going to warn you now that my review will not, and can not, do this book justice. I don’t have those kinda magic words the way that Amo does.

"A well-made lie will continue to burn the tip of your tongue well after you've been fed the truth."

Sicko was so much more than I was expecting. You might as well throw your expectations out the window before starting this book. Sicko book is dark as hell, it’s addicting, and it’s fucking phenomenal. I was having a damn anxiety attack through a lot of the book, in a good way! 😂 My heart was pounding, stomach was queasy. You know it’s a phenomenal read when you have physical reactions like that to a book.

These characters are some of my favorites that Amo has ever written. Jade is a mother effing QUEEN! She is one of the strongest heroines I’ve ever read about. And Royce. Sicko. Holy, shit. Everyone needs their own Royce. And the dynamic with the other characters and the Club was amazing. I loved it. I love that about MC romances. The club is usually one big family, and that sticks very true in Sicko.

"Sometimes people are just bad. There's no reason why they're bad, or no defining moment that made them snap, sometimes, they're just evil."

Ok, now the story and plot!? This part is what I meant about throwing your expectations out the window. There were so many things going on that had me guessing and having to wait to see if I was right, and some things that just slapped me up side the face! And Amo’s writing as always, will have you glued to the pages. I was up until 3am with a migraine still wanting to read because I couldn’t put it down.

This is one of those books that grips everything that you are and doesn’t let go, even after the last page. You won't want to let this story and these characters go.

"You're mine, Duchess. In every fucking way that is possible for a woman to owned by a man. You're mine."

Sicko is a stand-alone, but I’m greedy and I want more! That’s how much Amo makes you love all of these characters. You want all of their stories. Seriously one of my top reads of the year. Absolutely love Amos books, but she outdid herself with Jade and Royce. Five epic starts from me. Do yourself a favor and read this book!

Amo gutted me all those months ago. She has gutted me again, this time with the full length book!

"live each day in oblivion and wait for fate to show up on our doorstep with a bouquet of flowers hanging over its scythe."

Sicko by Amo Jones is not for the faint of heart, the story deals with situations that can be hard to talk about, it's life though and it is happening. Amo takes you into her world and I FU#$ING LOVED IT!!! I do not read many books like this (I can count on my one hand how many I have read before Sicko). I had a taste of Sicko back in 2019 and I wanted to read the full length book and I am glad I did.
Now I am wanting to know will there be more Wold Pack MC?????

Nothing twists me up more than an Amo Jones book! My soul waits with bated breathes after each release silently pleading for more words! It has felt like an eternity since my last Amo fix and I was ready for more! The thing is I just wasn’t prepared for Royce and Jade! The raw, and gritty beauty of their story is one that will imprint its place on your soul and you will never forget it!

My mind is in disbelief and I am in a state of shock!! I don’t know where to start or what to say I just know that NOTHING is as it seems! Read each word diligently and know that you will not be handled with care! You will be speechless at times and at others your rage will take over!

Royce though a gorgeous alpha male has the softest of hearts! I loved the goodness that living within him and most importantly I loved how Jade brought this side of him out that others couldn’t even pick at! They bickered and argued but only because the love that was within was the all consuming love we all search for! Ideal, no! Tough, at times yes, but in the end love was all that mattered.

The only thing is the darkest of demons are always lurking closer than we think!

If there is one book you get in 2020, let it be Sicko!

Heaven won’t take me, and Hell won’t welcome my demons back. I’ll be left in purgatory again, only this time for real.

This was one of my most anticipated September releases. The second I read the blurb to this book, I've been salivating for it. And I think this may have been my favorite Amo Jones book I've read to date. The woman sure knows how to write a kickass heroine and an antihero that will make your ovaries quiver. And this story brought that in spades.

Jade is one of the most fierce heroines I've ever read from Amo and I couldn't get enough. We first meet Jade as a 15 year old girl, reeling with her budding feelings for her foster brother. Though there's no ice factor here. The author did a phenomenal job layering their foundation with just enough chemistry when we first meet them that shows that Royce's overprotective brother routine is so much more. Royce has been Jade's everything, ever since she landed with Kane family as an infant. He's her protector, her confidant, and her dirtiest secret in her mind. But just as she begins to come to terms that her feelings for him are no longer that of an innocent young girl, he disappears. And leaves her in hell.

It's been four years since Royce left and now everything is different. Jade has been stuck in a hell that no one knows about. And when her foster brother makes a sudden reappearance, it turns her world upside down one more time. Royce is no longer the wild boy she knew. He's darker at the edges and the VP of an MC. He also seems to almost hate her.

The chemistry between these two was incendiary. I couldn't get enough of them. They were volatile and erotic and it hurt so good. They almost get off on tormenting the other in their own different ways. But both harbor secrets that can destroy everything.

What made this book all the more intriguing to me, was the author's warning in the beginning of this book being DARK. Like spare no details sort of dark. So of course I began to brace myself from the very first page. Now perhaps I'm a bit desensitized when it comes to my dark reads, but while this book certainly skated on the edges of dark, it never fully plummeted into that icy water for me. I spent the entire book waiting for the other shoe to drop, and while it did, it wasn't as dark as I expected. Now what it does touch on is a very relevant subject. One I have mad respect for the author having touched on. However, I also expected this to be a little darker than it was or what it promised to be.

Now don't get me wrong, a walk in the park it was not. It was gritty, depraved, and with plenty of dark edges. I suppose I just expected a bit more. The one big thing is that after everything that Jade has been through, there's no fallout emotionally from it. Considering how young she was, I was fully expecting to deal with some emotional turmoil from this, but it felt a bit brushed over.

That aside, I practically inhaled this book. There were so many twists and turns, and I love it when a book can manage to take me by surprise so completely. There's so much that's unraveled, that I'm desperately hoping this will be a series, or that we'll at least get Wicked's story. Because GAH.

Sicko and Jade's relationship was anything but traditional. It's full of turbulence, pain, and secrets. It was utterly delicious. Jones brought her A game when it came to creating their brand of emotional punishment, because DAMN. It hurt so good.

There were a few pieces that felt unresolved for me in the end, but they were pretty minor and felt insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Ultimately, I devoured this book and couldn't put it down for even a second. If dark, dirty, and deliciously erotic romance is your crack, welcome to your next addiction. Jade and Sicko's story will grab you by the throat from the beginning and own your heart at the end.

" The Royce you knew isn’t the Royce that you’re about to know. I’ll fuck you within an inch of your life just to prove a point, Duchess. "

'Sicko' is a Dark Romance Standalone by the best selling author Amo Jones. Told in dual perspectives, this book is the true definition of Mindfuck!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, make way for the Queen of Mindfuck Romance!! Amo has truly outdone herself in this book's and I was shocked at how quickly this climbed up to my top reads of 2020! Royce Kane and Jade own my fucking Soul and are gonna stay with me for a long long time.

" My heart cracks in my chest, but instead of it being from pain, it cracks open to allow Royce back in. "

The Kane family adopted Jade when she was dropped at their Doorstep. However their son , Royce was not thrilled at having a younger sister. Soon , they both developed an unbreakable bond that forged on for years to come. Both of them had a strange relationship. Everytime Jade saw Royce with another girl, another piece of her soul was chipped away , yet she couldn't face her feelings. That was Until Fate fucked them all. All of a sudden one night Royce left his home , leaving Jade alone. All alone in another Monsters clutches.

“You’re a sick bastard. You know that, right?
I smirk, running my tongue over my lips and swallowing the blood that had fallen.
“One would say a Sicko.

Royce Kane was the definition of bad boy. If there was one book boyfriend that would want to have in real life , then yeah that award goes to Royce! That man was hotness incarnated! After leaving his house , he found solace with a new family, the Wolf MC. He became the Vice president and was known by Sicko. Things changed when he returned home. His little Duchess wasn't the little girl anymore. She was a full blown woman with the capability to bring any man down to his knees. Suddenly ,denying the attraction between was an even more tougher task. But she wasn't the same anymore. Her eyes held a vacancy that signalled towards her dark past.

"That’s what Jade is to me.
She’s a walking, talking , fucking witch that is everything my soul wants and craves.
My body craves her, but my soul fucking needs her."

This book was definitely the darkest book Amo has ever written. Which is why she included a warning at the start of the book. It wasn't like dark all throughout but there were scenes that had me gulping back shudders. But I still loved every word. I would take any sort of Mindfuck from Amo jones!!! Because I know she is gonna make it worth it with lots of steamy scenes and a Hot as hell hero whom you will hate to love!

This book is a definite recommendation to all the dark Romance lovers, but like I said before , it is dark so tread carefully. However if you once dive into this book, then I guarantee you that Amo won't let you leave until the very last word!

Holy Moly!! I feel like I’ve been waiting forever to read this book and it was SO WORTH THE WAIT.

I honestly think that this is some of Amo’s BEST work yet. She touches on a lot of hard subjects and taboo material that most authors stray away from, even in the dark romance realm. I love that she is always pushing the limits and with this one the limits are pushed to the edge. She does it in a way that you’re saying WTF, but also seeing what beauty and light could come out of something so dark and treacherous.

Royce is a force to be reckoned with and someone you do not want to cross. He’s your typical Amo alpha male who takes over what he wants and when he wants it. Jade is hands-down my favorite Amo heroine, period. She is put through absolute hell and comes out as this strong, thoughtful and compassionate woman. These two have such a strong connection to one another. No matter what they do from children all the way up to adults, they just can’t seem to get enough of one another.

I so wish that this book was not a standalone. My only gripe about this book is that the end was too quick for me. I felt like the beginning part of the book explaining the situation, Royce and Jade’s dynamic, and everything in between is a great piece but then towards the end it felt very rushed. I know Amo Jones said that this book was just gonna be a standalone but this would’ve been a great series with just Royce and Jade. Not only that there’s so many side characters that I want to know the stories about. I hope in the future that she also writes about them too. I would love to get a whole Wolfpack MC series that would be awesome. I WANT MORE.

This book is by no means for every person. There are going to be people who love dark romance that will not like this book. It’s A LOT. I mean Amo Jones puts in a trigger warning in the beginning of the book, which she never does. It’s a touchy subject, very taboo, and this is just not for everybody. If you don’t like dark romance or are a little iffy about reading this I would definitely consider thinking things through before you read this book. Because even for me who loves dark romance, I had to pause and center myself quite a few times while reading. It definitely pushes some of my limits but overall I loved the story and the characters. If you have it within you to read something very questionable but you're able to read it with an open mind, this is probably going to be a book that you are really going to like. If you were looking for a book that will push your limits to the absolute max, and then bring it back down to a palatable level, this is definitely something you should read! Highly recommended!

4 “You can’t fuck with fate stars 🌟
Love is love, but when it’s unconditional, it’s for life.
Jade and Royce are foster siblings who have been inseparable since childhood, but when Jade is 15, Royce (18) ends up leaving without saying anything, and breaking Jade's heart in the process.

We fight a lot, but we love hard and when it comes to him and me, one cannot exist without the other.

That's where the story picks up.

Four years later, Royce is back. But he is no longer the possessive yet sweet boy Jade knew. He is now Sicko, vice-president of the Wolf Pack MC. Try as she may though, Jade can't hate him.
I’m addicted to Royce Kane, and if you try to lock me in a rehab clinic, I’ll only find my way back to him. You can’t separate fate, no matter how hard you fuck it.
The author just kept throwing one twist after another and I almost had 'book-whiplash' from it all.

Minor spoiler: Over the years, Jade has been sexually assaulted multiple times by a mysterious James Doe. (I pretty much guessed who 'James' was from the start, and I've never felt so sick being right.)

I loved Jade and Royce's story. It was gritty, raw and emotional, and one thing was clear: they were made for each other. 🖤

As a brother, he kept me safe, but as a lover, he keeps me sane.

She’s not just my rock, she’s my whole fucking world. I knew that from day one. My life began with her, and it’ll end with her.

I gotta say, the sex scenes here were something else entirely. Hot and downright filthy. There's even a threesome here so, enough said.

She’s a walking, talking, fucking witch that is everything my soul wants and craves. My body craves her, but my soul fucking needs her.

“You’re mine, Duchess. In every fucking way that is possible for a woman to be owned by a man. You’re mine.

Another element I loved in this book was how the MC members and their lifestyle was portrayed. They were rough, sure, but they were also welcoming and loving, which is exactly what both Jade and Royce needed.
Sometimes it’s not about blood.
It’s about who is still standing beside you after seeing you at your worst.
Now I need Wicked's book, because he's made quite an impression in this one!

Confession: Sooooooooooo, I went into this book expecting a very dark and taboo kind of story, and I have to say this wasn't as dark as I expected. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of twisted stuff going on here, but not like I thought. Maybe I've just been been reading too many dark romances!

The blurb promises a dark and twisted read, and I'm excited! 🖤

**** 4.5 Stars!!!!

What an addictive book this was for me! All I wanted to do in the last couple of days is read!!! I was hooked from the start, and I just couldn’t seem to look away from the darkness that this story brought!

The author does give a warning at the beginning of this book and I definitely urge readers to proceed with caution if you aren’t a lover of the dark genre. If you are though, then I highly recommend giving this a go!

I do feel Sicko... aka Royce, could have been even darker. This would be where my half a point dropped from my rating. In saying that though, I will warn that I have read a ton of very dark books... so my opinion may be a bit jaded. Others I am positive will think he’s dark enough!!!

Once again, this is a book you need to go in somewhat blindly as there are a ton of secrets that will have you guessed until the end! I personally love these kinds of stories!!! They keep me hooked all the way through!

I haven’t read a ton of Amo Jones work; but after reading Sicko, I will be checking out her backlist for sure!

This was a read that I won’t ever forget!

I’m convinced this writers books are not for me. It’s always the same with this author. Unbelievable scenes and plots. So much shit that goes on but makes no sense to the story or is never explained. It’s like ok why?? What does this add other than make my brain scream. I cannot for the life of me follow her stories.

This book reads not like a novel but an outline of thoughts and it was a struggle to get through because the flow was non existent.

This book is supposed to be dark but it’s not even close it’s just a clusterfuck of weird shit.

Sicko was the dark gritty MC romance that I think we were all waiting for. It was going to be forbidden, dark, and it was going to leave you wanting so much more because the passion that these characters were going to evoke in us, was going to make this story unforgettable and thrilling. Sadly, that was not the case for me and while I did enjoy certain parts of this story, I was expecting MORE.

Everyone knows by now that I love a good forbidden romance and when you pair it with an MC setting? There is nothing and I mean absolutely nothing better than that. Going into this story I had my expectations set really high on the level of darkness that I was going to be wrapped up in and then I saw the author’s warning and do you know what I did? I grabbed the wine because I wanted to be ready!!! With everything now in place, I got into a comfortable position and started down a rabbit hole because with a warning like that? We were going to get fucked right?

giphy-17.gif

Maybe it was just me and the fact that I’ve read some pretty messed up dark reads in my time and nothing shocks or scares me anymore, but this was not a dark romance to me. I kept waiting for the moment where I would have to put down the book for a while because it was too much or I would cringe due to certain scenes, but that never came and I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t disappointed in that. I needed the story to have more depth, I wanted to feel more of the characters connection, and I wanted to be shocked.

I know that most of my review seems critical in a sense and it might come off as me hating the story, but believe it or not, I did like certain parts of it. I loved how the author depicted the brotherhood of the MC and we knew that no matter what, they had each other’s back. Royce was a leader in his own right and I really liked that he protected everyone around him.

Even though this was not my favorite and some things didn’t work for me, it might work for you and for that, it’s worth giving a try.

"Distraction is the key that cracks open a broken soul."
description

Sicko is a stand-alone MC/Thriller Contemporary Romance full of non-stop action, suspense, and captivating characters. Jade was left on the doorstep of the Kane family as a little baby. Adopted by the Kane's, she was accepted and cared for. Although she feels brotherly love from the majority of her siblings, the love she has always felt from her older foster brother Royce is different. Royce and Jade have a strong bond and no one or nothing is going to tear them apart. When one wild night, Royce suddenly leaves Jade behind. Jade is left vulnerable and broken. Then when Jade and Royce are reunited four years later, both are completely different people, and yet, the intense attraction between the two still remains. Royce, now a patched in VP of a ruthless MC, goes by the name SICKO. Jade, enrolled in college, is anything but the innocent college girl partying and having "fun" with her friends. Both Sicko and Jade have four years of secrets and baggage to unpack. As they both struggle with the desire to reconnect, the obstacles continue to try to overcome them. Despite all that they have been through, when Royce finds out the truth about Jade, will he still want to claim her as his?

"More in control. He's a weapon that's been sharpened and only utilized to cause mass destruction. I'm in trouble."
Told in multiple POV, Sicko is a gritty, dark, and violent read with passion, suspense and a twisted plot. There are many elements of this read that drew me in and kept me hanging on to every single solitary word. The relationship between Royce and Jade is one of passion and just like fire and gasoline when the two come together it's like a fiery explosion. The MC Club and Joyce's brothers provide a family element that all MC Romance readers LOVE. Additionally, the sex club (that plays an important role in the plot) certainly offers an erotic flair that dark romance fans will DEVOUR!!! The absolute standout is the strength that Jade displays throughout the entire story and the love in which Royce just cannot stop himself from giving her.
"Always knew you'd be beneath me one day..."
Overall, Sicko is an absolute must-read for readers who enjoy taking a ride on the rough side. Sicko is anything but light and fluffy (so readers beware). It is dark and the twisted plot will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire read. Although there were some plot points that were unrealistic, Royce and Jade and the dynamics between the two were so intense, that I could not read this bad boy fast enough! This was my first Amo Jones read and I can honestly say- I am DYING for more!

💀🏍 THIS IS an F(BR) with my girls Simply Nik and Ari!!! 🏍️💀

2.5? Maybe 3?

Sicko started off SO strong –forbidden/taboo romance between foster siblings! with an obsessed hero!–but then things torpedoed way downhill into some messy dark/MC/vigilante/sex trafficking book that barely made any sense. Sicko tried to be too many things at once, and it didn't quite work for me.

Jade is Royce's foster sister who got adopted when she was dropped off at his family's door as a newborn. He’s always been obsessed and protective of her, and you can clearly tell how they feel about each other. Right when they're on the verge of something, Royce is forced to leave his family and leave Jade for years. He joins an MC (which genuinely felt like it was randomly thrown in, because we barely get to know anything about the club) and when he comes back, he hates Jade for some reason. So the obsessed hero we got in the beginning? Gone.

Royce makes her life hell, not knowing that she lived in hell while he was away, because she was raped by a man practically every day for years. This is the part when things started to devolve for me, and I was just like... what the hell is happening with the story. There’s a mystery surrounding Jade’s rapist but it is incredibly obvious who the rapist is, so that part isn't exactly suspenseful. The book also kind of glossed over the years-long rape part too, which was strange.

So many parts of the book felt all over the place. It starts off as a taboo romance. A third of the way into the story, all of a sudden it becomes an MC book? And then a vigilante/revenge book at the end? There was so much thrown in without any development or details that it just ruined the read for me. Everything was either too obvious or too ridiculous or not fleshed out enough, especially the revenge stuff at the end (which have been amazing to read, if we didn’t get it in the last 10% of the book). If this was an entire story about the revenge and had more depth, I would’ve enjoyed it so much more. If this was just a taboo romance, I would've enjoyed it so much more.

Amo is called the dark queen for a reason and this book proves that point. If you think this story is going to be like any of her other books then you are sorely mistaken. She takes you into the deep, dark underbelly of the world and makes you crawl your way back out, losing some of your soul in the process. My heart was in my throat and I couldn’t read it fast enough. Seriously, I didn’t stop once I started, I was completely enthralled.

Honestly, there just aren’t enough words to give this story the justice it deserves. You better armor up that heart because Amo is going to destroy you with Sicko and Jade. Don’t say I didn’t warn ya.

Without question, a top read of 2020.

After finishing Sicko, I really had to sit on it for a bit to try to gather my thoughts, try to come up with some sort of coherent review. Spoiler alert: I was unsuccessful. I mean, how do you try to properly summarize a book that both steals your breath away, yet simultaneously breathes it back into you, making you feel so alive? Because that’s what Sicko does. That’s what Royce and Jade do. The person you are at the start of this book will not be the same one who finishes it.

Amo Jones, for me, is a pillar of the book community. She doesn’t pull punches, doesn’t shy away from the darkness, and isn’t afraid to blow right on by the lines of safe and comforting. This is a woman who has sharpened her skills over time and her writing has a way of pulling you under without you even realizing what’s happening. Nobody makes my dark heart sing quite like Amo Jones. Sicko is a pinnacle of her career.

Jade is one of my favorite heroines of the year, and is sitting pretty at the top of the list of queens Amo has created, right up there with my best girl Tillie. Jade is the definition of resilient, she’s fierce and determined. Being forced to grow up in ways nobody should ever have to, she may have been bent, but never broken. She twisted things to make them her own.

And Royce? Yes please. Brings new meaning to the words possessive alpha. But Sicko? Pffffft, he blew Royce out of the water. Like this is a MAN. Unapologetic. Oozing charisma. Shot caller. He may not be one of the Kings, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t royalty.

The relationship between Jade and Royce though is unparalleled. Their connection tangible, built on a foundation that started immediately between the two. It was instantaneous and unavoidable. The raw emotions that these two bled for one another made my heart race. There is no beginning and end to Royce and Jade, they are a constant. The same soul living in two bodies.

In true Amo fashion though, this book is dark. It’s emotional, it’s heavy, and it will make your heart and soul ache. You’ll want to rage and lash out. But the journey is so incredibly worth it. I promise.
