Illuminating. Some of the info is definitely worth paying attention (pls see below), some of it's questionable and some has earned Mr Icke some icky attention from the ... eh... medically inclined, I'm sure. One of the Holy Grailiest info bundles for the lovers of conspiracy theories.

So far, a DNf. I'll be back!

Q:
In summary:
Media: Keep the adult public attention diverted away from the real social issues, and captivated by matters of no real importance.
Schools: Keep the young public ignorant of real mathematics, real economics, real law, and real history.
Entertainment: Keep the public entertainment below a sixth grade level.
Work: Keep the public busy, busy, busy, with no time to think; back on the farm with the other animals. (c)
This is most definitely true.
10 years ago people still could read a page of text without complaining and bitching. Today, they
are starting to struggle with a paragraph of undiluted info. What's next? 'Can you Twit me this report?' 'This sentence is very difficult to read, can we summarize it into 3, 4 words tops?'

Da Vinci, Leibnitz and Descartes would have shot themselves in the world of today.

And the Truth Shall Set You Free is pretty typical David Icke. There's what I consider to be mostly good information mixed with bad information. Things I agree with, and things I disagree with. In this one he's particuarly hard on Israel/Mossad, not that they don't deserve it. What Icke does is pick through piles of various "conspiracy" related books and pieces other peoples research into his own work. The only variation is you throw in some new age overtones and ancient astronaut stuff. Nothing about the Reptilians in this one though. I don't think his books are bad but I wouldn't recomend them to a novice who is just starting to research the new world order because you have to be able to weed out a lot and discern a lot of information.

I have to say that I found this in part the most boring book of David Icke's that I've read. But much essential information is revealed, and especially the first chapter and last two chapters (plus postscript) are admirable.

(I've no idea of when Icke was born, but he must have an immensely strong Saturn in his horoscope - and a Saturn-Mercury aspect - in order to master all these details.)

The first chapter reveals some interesting information about the "hijacking" of Planet Earth by extraterrestrial beings thousands of years ago. Throughout the book Icke calls the consciousness of these controlling beings "the Prison Warder consciousness". This takeover led to a "blocking, imprisoning vibration" which prevents us from accessing the higher levels of our consciousness, making us forget who we are. Today a few of us have managed to dissolve this blocking frequency, and even more will soon do the same during the present period of spiritual awakening.

In other chapters we're appraised of the engineering of both World Wars, light is shed on both Kennedy assasinations and on Clinton's involvement in all sorts of illegal and nefarious activities, including drug traficking.

Again and again we are shown how the same characters are involved in all the dark schemes. In fact it seems like ALL the politicians and leading figures of the last century formed part of the Illuminati. Also, there is an interesting chapter devoted to cults and how we are manipulated into forming our views on them, in fact manipulated into regarding certain organizations as cults when in fact they are not.

Neither are the bulk of New Age adherents spared the author's condemnation.

As I mentioned previously, the crowning work of the book is the last two chapters, where it is explained all about the "Great Transformation", as the author terms it, how all is not lost, but how essential it is for each one of us to break out of the control, and not be afraid to express our individuality and show who we really are. When we do this no-one or nothing can harm us.

In a fascinating postscript Icke describes an incident at a theatre where he sits next to Jimmy Carter and experiences the malevolent Prison Warder energy immersed in him. Finally by opening his heart and using the power of love Icke manages to shake off this horrific energy. A fascinating and enlightening experience.

I can recommend this book if you like me have perseverance enough (or a strong Saturn like Icke) to plough through endless details and long lists of names. The reward will be further understanding and enlightenment about the sorry state of affairs in the world, which "Truth" will help us to finally shake free of the Prison Warder Control engulfing our planet.

Nearly 500 pages of detail explaining the power and influence of those few who seem to have been able to control the majority, mainly through money, over the centuries. Even if you are sceptical about the content & I know many people will be, that does not detract from the message. It is obviously well researched and a great insight into how we, the Mr & Mrs average people, need to adjust our inner selves to bring a halt to this corruption of the human race.

Read it, digest, enjoy and move forward to a more enlightened life.

This man is obviously a nut although I don't think he's that far off on some of his observations. This book entertained me although it wasn't fiction and it rambled considerably in more than a few chapters.

This is a classic conspiracy theory book that blames Jews and Masons for a lot of things. If you're not offended by that concept personally then it's not terribly hard to get through.

Some may say he is just a conspiracy theorist. But his books are good reading and must have some element of truth in them to be bagged as conspiracy. Certainly thought provoking and more stimulating than mainstream news

This book starts off reminding you that you're Infinite Consciousness so nothing is outside your grasp and then plunges into the mess the world is in, hoping you'll step up to do something about it! Very worth reading.

This was such a mixed experience for me.
I struggled to get through the first part. Too many details, names, dates, and historical stuff for my brain to digest or hold its interest.
I’m not saying it’s NOT interesting or valid (I haven’t checked all the literature or proposed facts, but I think it’s amazing it’s all there so anyone who would, could).
It’s, just not info my brain restrains or relate much to. The overall ideas and societal, spiritual, human and psychological elements, on the other hand, I was very interested in.
And I do believe, intuitively, that much of what Icke is pointing to has truth and validity. I don’t doubt that there are people in power behind the scenes throughout history, that are pulling the strings, and that does not have humanity’s or Earths wellbeing at heart, and that have agendas we dont know, and that will put out smokescreens, manipulate, lie, kill and many other horrors, to see their own horrific ends met and plans fulfilled. I don’t doubt they are driven by greed, violence, blindness and hostility, and that dark forces that are beyond this earth, are very much part of this and in control. And that there are a lot of pawns and scapegoats in this play, that have no idea what they are doing or what role they have been assigned. And how bad, very very bad things, are up ahead, if we don’t change our ways.
It’s all so sad and so horrific. A ‘living nightmare that honestly scare the shit out of me.
So even if I can’t say I believe every detail, I do believe there is truth to the general picture and much info here to be aware of and stuff to take notice of and that we need to be careful of the choices we make (or don’t make) as we write our own history, and to be responsible in that choice.

I also believe that what Icke writes in the second half of the book, about how we can set ourselves free, how we are all One, how Love and Respect is the answer to the worlds problems.
Now THAT is a world and a future I’d want to live in and want to work towards. And the way Icke writes about this, I felt a strong resonant twitch and leap of joy in my heart, as I read it. More so than in the first part of the book. Whatever that might mean.

This probably won’t be my last Icke book, as it’s definitely something that’s made me curious and want to explore more and there are gems in here’s for sure. But at the same time, there’s a lingering wariness I can’t quite understand...

Enriching. Don't underestimate Mr. Icke, I feel he's right. Anyway this book is nonfiction and the facts are all corroborate with logic and different other sources.
Excellent book, a real guide :)

One of Icke's better early books. All the core information is here, sans the Reptoid elite, which is a pity as that's the tastiest part. Still an entertaining read for anyone who hates/mistrusts everything and everyone. David still manages to end on a positive note, bless 'im. The truth shall set you free... well if you believe everything in here you'll wind up believing in the universe-creating power of your own thought, which is very nice but ultimately ineffectual in the face of gene-splicing hologrammatic Luciferian reptoids, I'm guessing.

Well it took me a long time to read this one, a year or more. That is because there is so much material in this book and lots of it is really heavy. The focus is surprisingly not on aliens here but on the system of this earth. The financial system, the political or religious to name some. Then there all kinds of info as I get to wonder who told him all of that stuff.

Largely a rehash of his previous book, notable only for cramming in as many additional conspiracy theories as Icke could add to the stew. Doubles down on the Protocols of the Elders of Zion too. Full review:

I see these Icke books now as being good entertainment and food for thought but have given up considering the complete reality of a world under the spell of a dark intentioned cabal of Reptiles. There I have purged my past and I feel better.

This is a classical book, it has many strengths, a lot of stuff there now seems to be spot one, especially when it comes to the European Union. Also, the richness of the detail, the author is not shy of writing, and the book even full of repetitions has plenty of information that is very useful. Still, I am shocked by the entitlement of the author and his many inabilities to deal with questions, how one-sided he is but claims to be open-minded, and how anti-western and anti-Jew or Judaism though he claims not to be, I will give examples, no problem, and I am not proposing to shut down his discourse, I will just post my perception reading the text and how David Icke left out a lot of the history of the world and the reality, though the author does poses as a sort of know all, still I am giving credit because I did agree to a good extent with his work. For instance, he developed further the description of the UFO phenomena and how it may have affected us and still may be affecting, us from The Robot Rebellion it was a good development because this part was still a bit sketchy.
My problems with the author start when he blames all the problems of the world on the Western civilisation, as all the others were all pure and blameless, honestly his perception is appalling and absurd, the Western civilisation has its problems still is better than any other that has appeared. Talking about the crimes of Israel and not a word on how the Islamic world operates, still living comfortably with the gains of the Western society, when is David Icke planing to move to Qatar? Must love there as he does not say a word, only Jews and the white men commit crimes, we have to endure five hundred pages with his low brow jesuitism, complaining like a little girl about everything, so that is it, the book got old, in the nineties we had this mega trip of white guilt, jewish guilt, etc...
I will give you the biggest example of all that exposes the mentality of these "conspiracy theorists", and I will take the French Revolution as an example. All of them up to today complained about the Vatican, the Church, the Ancien Regime of the Monarchs. So the French Revolution came, but surprise surprise, they were also not happy... So with them, we cannot win either way, Perhaps progress is a screwed-up process, and this manipulation may be necessary, the odd thing this book proves to me, is that the Illuminati may have been right along, and people such as David Icke should pack his stuff and go live in Nepal, or not benefit from any research from Israel or any Jew. He opens his mouth to complain about the Talmud, which he does not understand anything about, but leaves the Sharia which has a big effect on the whole world free of any criticism. Great thinker... Yes, I found it incredibly bigoted and entitled.
And for last a thought, the author has been saying that one attracts people with similar vibrations to themselves, well, I have been in David Icke's forum, and guess what? It is the most hateful and tin-foiled conspiracy group, really scary, that can make on think about the effect of his one-sided ramble.

One of the most important books of the 90's, and the moment when David established himself as a pioneer within what has cynically been labelled conspiracy theory 'research'. Whilst this was not the first Icke book I had read, and by the time I discovered this book, a lot of the information was accept much more as a given, when this came out in the early 90's, it was an essential and innovative collection of information regarding the 'physical' aspects of the conspiracy. Whilst he has gone on to write more ground breaking content in the late and early noughties, this remains a wonderful introduction to the 'ground level' aspects of the conspiracy, such as the banking industry, pharmaceutical industries, secret societies and the military industrial complex amongst others. If you have a friend who refuses to acknowledge even the most obvious driving factors between what is really going on in the world today, then despite the age of this book, you could do a hell of a lot worse than handing them a copy of And the Truth Shall Set You Free. Cometh the hour, cometh the man. David has been a guiding light of information for three decades now. The truth he was laughed at and ridiculed for all those years ago is now playing out in front of our very eyes. Educate yourself, get informed and get ready to stand up for your freedom, before its gone completely. 4.5/5

I got through maybe sixty pages. I've only put a handful of books down mid-book in my life, but I can't do it. I thought it was going to be more "everyone's consciousness is connected in a fourth dimension" type of book based on the first page or two. Then it went hard into conspiracy theory territory. Judging by the footnotes, the author cites other conspiracy books as if they were mainstream by saying "as it's widely known", and there are many of this instances. At times this felt like a synopsis book rather than a book of its own merit.

Maybe I just never got to the "good parts", and maybe the early part was just setup for a late reveal. I can't do it. I don't care if Da Vinci, George Washington, and whoever else were in some ultra-secret society. I don't care about the name Rothschild or veiled antisemitism. It just doesn't matter to me. Maybe I'm not the target market.

Or maybe Nicholas Cage (National Treasure) and Dan Brown (The Da Vinci Code) ruined the "brotherhood" genre for me, the former for being good and the latter for being less than stellar. This book predates them but unfortunately has been overshadowed and does not stand up.

There are far more...important?...books on my to-read list. I'm not going to waste my time on this one.

I'm not sure I agree or even understand some of the sections on multi-dimensions but there was enough in there for me to keep at it and read the whole thing.
