Ooooooof.

Honestly, I'm glad this series wasn't my first thing by Rina Kent or I might have never made it to the other series I loved.

I really enjoyed book one, but the book two and three writing felt like it was done by a different author. It was SO repetitive with the characters' inner thoughts and motivations. Literally, the same thoughts, emotions, and plot directives regurgitated themselves over and over again here. It just felt very...directionless, messy, and childish, sadly.

The bright side is that at least this was one of her earlier works, which means I have already seen how she has progressed with her writing and storytelling since then (as the series I first read by her were written later than this one).

And in Kent's defense, I also did read these connected series VERY out of order. As a result, I already knew some of the twists that occurred here and therefore didn't have that surprise/tension that I might have experienced otherwise. For that reason, I am rating this two stars instead of the one I was initially going to rate it.

Any why one star? Because of the initial reasons I mentioned above coupled with the fact that I just can't in good conscience rate a book I skimmed so heavily any higher than that.

But oh well. Still gonna continue my Rina Kent binge anyway!

Long live the King and the Queen!

I knew this book would be good and it certainly lived up to my expectations. Aiden and Elsa鈥檚 story has been quite a roller coaster ride. From the beginning they stared at each other across a school yard and had a connection that couldn鈥檛 be ignored. At the end of the last book Jonathan, Aiden鈥檚 father had made it a point to destroy what they had, in his quest to get back at Elsa for the sins of her mother.

In addition to Jonathan鈥檚 manipulations, which destroy all trust Elsa had in Aiden, there is still a lot Elsa doesn鈥檛 know about what happened when they were kids because her memories have been returning to her very slowly. Aiden fears those revelations will turn her against him even more than Jonathan.

Elsa finds herself surrounded by new and different characters in this book, which was a great surprise. I liked that a lot about the book as well as the fact that the rest of the horsemen, Kim and the Elsa鈥檚 rival Silver are returned. The relationship between Aiden and Elsa is scorchingly hot and steamy. Their passion is beautiful, all consuming, and violent at times. It鈥檚 like they can鈥檛 control themselves and can鈥檛 get enough of one another.

The intimate scenes were sizzling and the connection Aiden and Elsa share is much deeper as we find out more about their childhoods. I love the way Rina Kent writes so that you can feel the need they have for each other and though Aiden is sometimes a possessive and Jealous prick, he really just wants to protect Ella. He also has an extremely dirty mind and has no problem with telling her his every dirty thought.

Aiden is such a compelling character. He is a sociopath but he controls himself for the most part. His mind is funny and the parts of the book told from his point of view are awesome. We get to see how he his brain works and also how he feels about Elsa and even about his friends and other students.

鈥淎 moment later, he strides in our direction. He smiles at me so wide, I鈥檓 tempted to cut his face open. The only reason I don鈥檛 is because Elsa would hate me even more.
Knight can still do it, though. With the right encouragement.
I tuck that idea for later.鈥

This book also sets up some of the next books in the series. I want to know more and find out who the rest of the horsemen will end up with and what is they mystery between Xander and Kim. I would almost think that Kim鈥檚 brother Kai is their son, but his age doesn鈥檛 add up. So I don鈥檛 know what is going on with them. I can鈥檛 wait to find out more.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

鈰嗏媶鈰 reading the Elsa and Aiden trilogy made me want to play chess too 鈾燂笍馃懜馃徏馃ご馃徎

嗒溾亐鉃 I just want to cry I swear. BECAUSE I ALREADY FINISHED READING THE STORY OF ELSA AND AIDEN 馃槶. I swear it seemed like yesterday that I started their story and I'm already at the end, I can't really believe it, but at the same time I can't wait to continue this fantastic series. 馃槴

- after discovering the real plan between aiden and his father and seeing his father again after 10 years, elsa decides to start a new life, starting to live with her father and her two new brothers: knox (and yes, the boy who saved her from the pool) and teal.
the first few days for elsa are really difficult, going to every place in her old house she has vague memories but nothing precise, so she asks to hear everything from her father and starts to connect everything.
the following friday elsa and her family are invited to a charity evening and from here on the war between her family and aiden's begins.
after more than a week has passed elsa is more and more convinced that she wants to forget aiden, but when she helps silver from a bad situation with adam, silver tells him something that will make elsa change her mind. 3 days after this event, finally aiden, thanks to silver's help, decides to tell elsa everything, ending up telling her that the engagement between him and silver had always been a farce between them and that, in a few days they would announce the dissolution of the engagement.

- thanks to the cancellation of the engagement, elsa and aiden are able to spend more time together. Elsa, however, still doesn't trust aiden 100% and for this reason she will put him to the test, and he will do everything to regain her trust.
the days pass and elsa and aiden return to the way they once were, but there is only one problem: elsa has to marry ronan. elsa obviously doesn't want to, but at the same time she doesn't want to ruin her father's career, because if she were to marry Ronan, her father would have a great ally and could beat aiden's father.
as soon as aiden finds out, he returns from china and goes to get elsa. together they spend a beautiful evening where elsa truly understands that she loves aiden, and at the same time aiden will help elsa to bring back her memory. how? by going back to where it all began, but that's where the problems arise: agnus, elsa's father's right-hand man, locks them in the old cellar for several days. the first day passes quite peacefully, but the second not at all. after spending hours and hours talking, elsa during her sleep begins to feel sick because of the heart problems.
after 3 days they manage to get out of the cellar, elsa is taken to the hospital but after a few days she returns home.

- and finally elsa and aiden also had their happily ever after, after 10 years, they got back together, just like those two children who found each other by chance. elsa and aiden have learned to know each other and to help each other, sure some ways were not the best, but despite this they found each other and they couldn't be happier like this:, married, they live together, they go to the same university and they will have a child. finally those two kids kept their promises and they couldn't be happier.

after hearing the whole truth from aiden's father and from aiden himself, and seeing her father, she decides to start a new life: she returns to her house with her two new adoptive brothers: knox and teal.
since she started living there, however, the memories are stronger and more frequent, but thanks to the presence of her father and her uncle agnus she slowly manages to feel better.
the days pass and elsa returns to the r茅s with kim and her new older brothers, but without her aiden, she will try in every way to avoid him, because she wants to put herself first for once.
a short time later silver and aiden talk to him and finally understands that there has never been a bond between the two of them, and for this reason she decides to give aiden one last chance.
spending more and more time with him she understands that when she is with aiden the real elsa comes out, the one she didn't think could be there, and she does it calmly because she knows well that aiden would be the last person in the world who would judge her.

after losing his elsa by telling him the truth he feels lost, for him the days are endless, the sleepless nights are even longer, and he knows very well that he can't do anything to have elsa back in his arms except wait, but since he is not a patient person he decides to stay as close to her as possible but elsa rejects all his attention, so finally he decides to tell elsa the truth and he is ready to lose anything to get her back.
after telling elsa the truth he does everything to get her back and succeeds, but he only has one last goal: to make elsa remember everything.
he decides to take her back to the old cellar, telling her about the pain that elsa's mother inflicted on him, both physical and mental, but despite this, being in that room with elsa by his side wasn't so bad for him.

i really liked aiden as a character, because from the outside he seems like a slightly crazy boy who expects everyone to do what he wants in the way he wants, but as soon as you start to understand why he is like that your heart melts. i realized that i love him too because deep down he is just a child who was mistreated, who suffered great traumas, including abandonment and many physical traumas. because of them he decided exclusively to no longer feel feelings, but only anger, because the anger he felt was the same amount of pain he had suffered.
i think that of all the male characters, even if i haven't read them all, he is my favorite character because he is the most complicated to understand, but once you do, you can't help but love him.

喹 鈥р倞藲鈹aiden and i are not the darkness and the light; we both have stained minds and souls, but we are not soulmates. we are lost souls who complete each other in a perfectly imperfect harmony.

after finishing this trilogy i have to say: i really need to read a book from ethan's pov. i think that if there was also a book of his, the series would end perfectly, maybe not telling the time with elsa's mother, but maybe a new relationship.

About halfway I got bored. I just don't think they needed 3 fucking books doing exactly the same thing. the only thing i actually liked in this book is that aiden changed. even though he's still a psycho, he sat and thought things through before jumping to conclusions. unlike elsa.

Even though i thought about it for a millisecond i still wrote this when i read THAT scene: Please I lost all my respect for elsa in this book. Fuck this. She made a whole big deal about silver and aiden but when it comes to her and ronan, then she needs to think about it. Fuck it, she鈥檚 a bloody hypocrite and she doesn鈥檛 deserve shit.

Overall, i'm proud of them because they BOTH were hella toxic to each other. fucking psychopaths.

So.. this couple had 3 (three) books and NONE was good, this is loser behavior of them.

In the first book Elsa seemed to have potential to be a good female character, I was hoping she would be stubborn like Astrid and closed off, like truly a mysterious female character. Then she started disappointing me, she always says she's gonna do one thing and then does the opposite, SHE IS SO ANNOYING and repetitive, like I said before, half of the dialogue she has with friends and Aiden is THE SAME in all 3 books, it's so repetitive it seems like the author wrote the same things over and over again.

With that being said, here's my statement: Aiden and Elsa didn't need 3 books for their story, their traumas, past or their romance. It could have been ONE good or at least interesting book instead of THREE half-assed ones. Not even the revelations shocked me, not the cliffhangers in every book ending.. I only kept reading because I want to finish the entire series. But it's not interesting enough to keep someone at the edge of their seat.

Now about Aiden, the guy just doesn't have a personality, he says the same 5 robotic lines through all 3 books, these are like "you're mine", "I'll kidnap you", "don't let him touch you", "can I fingerfuck you?" or "I'll destroy you", that's all the boy can say bc besides that he doesn't have another dialogues as I mentioned, it's all repetitive.

Teal was such a breath of fresh air in this book and I kept readind for the scenes she, Ronan, Cole and Kim appeared.

I still have xanderkim and silvercole books to read and I truly hope they'll serve all aidenelsa couldn't.

gladly finished the series. and honestly, while i really enjoyed the overall story, by the end i found myself hating rina kent all over again. she completely ruined the series with all the dramatic teenage highs and lows鈥攊t鈥檚 just too much.
and on top of that, she keeps destroying her own characters.馃う馃徎鈥嶁檧锔

unsurprisingly, everything 饾棶饾椂饾棻饾棽饾椈 does is rooted in childhood trauma. he seems like a monster, but as i kept reading, i realized鈥攈e wasn鈥檛 meant to be one. he was meant to be healing.

饾棽饾椆饾榾饾棶 still isn鈥檛 my favorite, but her childhood and trauma made me cry, i鈥檒l admit that.

that said鈥 the chemistry between aiden and elsa? just wasn鈥檛 there in this book.
sure, they were still going at it like rabbits鈥攂ut unlike before, there was no actual tension, no spark. just鈥 scenes. 馃樁

also, how is aiden only 18 and somehow acting like he has decades of experience?? 馃憖i have 饾槻饾樁饾槮饾槾饾樀饾槳饾槹饾槸饾槾.听

alas, the conclusion of Aiden and Elsa's story is finally here.

was everything answered? yes.
did everything live up to my expectation? ehhh..

this was a decent read and the writing was still good but the drama was a bit OTT for me and kind of all over the place and everything was kind of resolved pretty fast, especially when it came to the drama between Ethan (h's dad) and Jonathan (H's dad).

鈥漌hat I feel for you isn鈥檛 only love, obsession, or addiction. It鈥檚 all of those and more.鈥

i still loved the characters and i reaaalllyyy can't wait to read Xander and Kim's book. their "relationship" is just full of mystery that i really wanna know why the hell Xander hates Kim!

Aiden is still crazy but very swoony here, and Elsa? weeelll she annoyed me in the beginning since i thought she was a bit too harsh on Aiden but i still liked how she didn't forgive him too easily and made him work for it. i mean, i would probably be as petty as her if i found out my boyfriend was "engaged" to someone else this entire time.

i think this was a nice conclusion to Aiden and Elsa's story and im so glad they got their HEA.

This series is just okay. Although this book was better than the last two books, however, it was still problematic and not entertaining.

It was good that Elsa and Aiden got their happy ending. The other characters were interesting too. Cole and silver, then? I kind of guessed them together in the first book when it was revealed that they are going to be stepsibling. And Silver is a completely changed person here. In the previous books, she was a bully and always tormented Elsa about Aiden. And now she doesn't even care about Aiden anymore. Isn't it weird? If the author decided to make Silver a protagonist in the future book, she should have started changing her before. Now the sudden shift of her character is completely unbelievable and obnoxious.

And, Silver and Aiden faked their engagement. She was territorial about him for other reason. Can you find the similarity? It sounds a lot like and by

And Kimberly and Xander, another predictable book it will be. They were childhood friends, right. Does anyone remember by ?

And Ronan and Teal, right? It will be interesting. At least I haven't found similarities yet but who knows.

I feel the author took inspiration from every bully romance, merged them together, and here is her books.

鈥淎s long as you have this spark in your eyes, I鈥檒l always recognise you as my Elsa.鈥

Aiden and Elsa鈥檚 story started off really well, with all the mysteries and suspense surrounding their past, Elsa鈥檚 forgotten memories, the betrayals and rivalry that led their parents down a path of destruction, and their volatile relationship that later developed into an ardent and emotional mess.

While I did enjoy the last two books in their story, Twisted Kingdom fell flat compared to the previous ones. A lot was happening, yet nothing really happened in the end. So many inconsequential events and subplots were thrown in just to justify another book for Aiden and Elsa. Honestly, their story could鈥檝e been wrapped up in two books max, and I don鈥檛 know why Rina decided to stretch it out when she couldn鈥檛 even write a proper redemption arc for Aiden or meaningful character growth for Elsa. What was the point of Aiden and Elsa鈥檚 fathers鈥 rivalry? It started with a bang, only for both families to turn into business partners by the end. Their rivalry ended up being a useless trope in this book.

I really liked Elsa in Deviant King, but after the ending of book one, she just became this annoying and frustrating girl who is obsessed with Aiden because he brings out a different side of her, and she can鈥檛 resist him or his dick. She ignored him, then tried to stalk him, justifying it with how she can鈥檛 help it because she鈥檚 obsessed with him. I wish she had shown some growth, developed a backbone, and made Aiden grovel before accepting him back into her life. But instead, she opted for the easy route, letting him fuck her into oblivion.

鈥淗e stole my fucking heart and soul, and there鈥檚 no way I鈥檒l be able to get them back. He鈥檚 a thief, remember? A damn thief.鈥

Aiden was just Aiden in this book鈥攜ou know what I mean. I was hoping to like him more if he actually grovelled or begged, but he did nothing. He was slightly different in how he took care of Elsa and tried to protect her from her past because he knew the truth would break her. But he鈥檚 still a fuck-up, and I can鈥檛 forget that. Honestly, I don鈥檛 even know how I liked him in book one.

鈥淲hat I feel for you isn鈥檛 only love, obsession, or addiction. It鈥檚 all of those and more. Do you know what that means, sweetheart? It means I can鈥檛 live without you.鈥

Elsa and Aiden鈥檚 relationship took a major turn in this book. From being her bully and tormentor to her protector, we finally see how he was always hers and how deep and potent their connection runs. I was eating up all the drama and angst鈥攗ntil I just couldn鈥檛 anymore. Seriously, it was so clich茅. Like, Rina, we know you can do better, so please use your two brain cells and give us something good other than the same childhood connection and marriage promises.

鈥淭here hasn鈥檛 been a day where I haven鈥檛 thought about you. Every time I manage to sleep, I dream of you. You were my obsession since we were kids, but now it鈥檚 way fucking worse. I don鈥檛 know how I managed to spend eight years without you in my life when now I suffocate if I don鈥檛 see you for hours.鈥

Elsa tried her best (well, as best as she could) to keep Aiden and his dick away, but the moment he showed her some kindness and care, she gave in. They are good together, but what about character development? What about the therapy sessions they both desperately need?

The ending was underwhelming, and I don鈥檛 even know how I feel about it. I鈥檓 only giving this book three stars because the dialogue made me laugh, the smut was hot, the drama was entertaining enough to keep me reading, and because of Cole being the little bitch of their group. I already love him, so hopefully, Rina won鈥檛 ruin his book for me.

The final book to Aiden and Elsa's story brings much more intimate details. This book was incredibly done and has satisfied my expectations.

Who was dead is alive now, the person who was supposed to love turns out to be a monster and the devil pursues to give safety and love. The author has smoothened the rough surfaces but before that this incredible series dumped dynamite among chapters.
I absolutely love Aiden and Elsa's pairing. Rina Kent's heroes are not insta-loved, they are a-hole, obsessive and deviantly scrumptious. I recommend Rina Kent's books to bully romance lovers out there. Her books are dark.

FIVE TWISTED STARS for Elsa and Aiden 馃挅馃挅馃挅!!!

馃専馃専馃専馃専馃専

I LOVED IT.

I LOVED IT.

I LOVED IT.

This was one of the hardest reviews to write and that is the reason why I took a few days of a break after I've read the book to write this review.

Rina didn't disappoint.

She really shocked me with some parts and I totally loved it.

She wrote the story that kept my attention from the first to the last word.

It was really easy to read.

The storyline is so interesting that I couldn't put the book down because there were so many secrets which made me read until I discovered them all.

"Twisted Kingdom" is a dark high school bully romance with enemies to lovers trope.

This is the last book about Elsa and Aiden's story and the third book in the "Royal Elite" series.

And...

...it's pure perfection.

I was so sad after I finished the last sentence because I became so connected with the main characters.

It was so hard to say goodbye to them even I know there are more books, in this series, in which they will be as side characters.

Elsa and Aiden's relationship is deep and broken, but also beautiful.

Something you can't find in every book.

They proved that true love doesn't know about a dark and painful past.

It's all about forgiveness and love.

Love that becomes every day bigger and stronger.

If you're looking for a dark romance series, this is the series you MUST TO READ NEXT!!!

Highly recommended!!!

P.S. Can't wait for the next book in series 馃槺!!!

P.S.S. Ronan is mine 馃槣馃槏鉂ゐ煍!!!

I'm giving 4.5猸 to this book...
I think I will rate this couple trilogy as almost 4猸...

Twisted kingdom was a lot more interesting than steel princess.
I finally was able to understand their past, even if it wasn't really a mystery.

I didn't get bored in this one, so it's a bonus. Aiden is still the same possessive psycho and Elsa is still stubborn like a stone, but at least they really evolved from that toxic relationship to something more stable.

I loved how Aiden were more human and show his care (sort of) for Elsa in this book. They're definitely a match.
I also enjoyed more of her new family and the boys interactions.

But I will take a break from this people, and maybe return to it after Cole's book...
A series with all 5 couples (Levi, Aiden, Xander, Ronan and Cole) in the same trope (dark bully enemies to lovers), is reaaaally too much to my taste, and I know that I will compare and I will find all the same.

Sooooo I'll take a break. 馃し馃徎鈥嶁檧锔忦煒傗潳锔

Why aren't more people talking about the fact that Agnus almost killed Elsa?? Aiden was so nonchalant about it, it completely goes against his character. Makes no bloody sense! Instead he was having coffee with Agnus when Elsa woke up in the hospital after TWO DAYS. I hate Agnus with a passion now and I don't even like Elsa that much so that says something! God, this was so fucked up.

"The thought that Dad trusts him burns at the back of my throat like acid."
...
鈥淵ou killed my mother,鈥 I breathe, my face going up in flames.
鈥淪hut up, Elsa,鈥 Aiden whispers harshly, but only I can hear him. 鈥淒on鈥檛 provoke him when we have no exit plan.鈥
...
"He鈥檚 a psychopath, isn鈥檛 he?
If he鈥檚 so detached after killing someone, he must be some sort of a psycho."
...
鈥淚鈥檝e been by Ethan鈥檚 side since we were ten years old. I know from experience that if he stops trusting someone, he鈥檒l cut them completely out of his life. I can鈥檛 afford that.鈥
鈥淲hat if I tell him?鈥 I try to keep the challenge out of my voice.
鈥淓than lost so much...He finally thinks he can start anew with you, Knox, and Teal. If you tell him unnecessary things, he鈥檒l cut me from his life, but he won鈥檛 cope well with it. If you want to be the reason behind that, then by all means, go right ahead.鈥

And he almost lost Elsa, again, because of you, Aggy.
I'm only putting in snippets I highlighted but believe me, there's a lot more that pissed me the hell of.

鈥淎re you threatening me?鈥
鈥淚鈥檓 simply stating facts.鈥
...鈥淪ounds like a threat to me.鈥
He smiles without humour. 鈥淏elieve me, this isn鈥檛 how I issue threats. You鈥檙e lucky to be amongst the few people I鈥檒l never threaten.鈥
We maintain a war of gazes for what seems like an hour. Agnus doesn鈥檛 flinch or even blink.
A stone. He鈥檚 a damn stone.
鈥淗e鈥檚 right.鈥 Aiden faces me. 鈥淪teel Corporation remained standing because of Agnus. If he leaves, it鈥檒l backfire on your father badly, especially with the competition between him and Jonathan.鈥
鈥淵ou鈥檙e supposed to be on my side.鈥 I glare at him.
鈥淚 am, sweetheart. That鈥檚 why I鈥檓 telling you to disregard your emotions and give free reign to your brain.鈥 ...鈥淒eep down, you know this is the best thing to do.鈥
鈥淚鈥檒l give you time to think about it.鈥 Agnus places the cigarette to his lips. 鈥淚t won鈥檛 be long before Ethan finds out you鈥檙e missing. I disabled the ability to open the door from the inside. Stay here and process everything carefully, Elsa.鈥

That entire interaction made me want to chuck this book at the wall. Aiden is such a little bitch for defending Agnus even though he's seeing right before his eyes how Agnus is coming off as threatening to Elsa. Don't fucking tell her to disregard her emotions. Protective, my ass. And it's funny that Steel Corporation remained standing but no one, not even Jonathan, knew about it. EYE ROLL.

鈥淒id he just lock us in?鈥 I murmur in astonishment.
鈥淭he phones are outside,鈥 Aiden curses again.
鈥淚 can鈥檛 believe he did that. Dad will never forgive him.鈥
鈥淗e wants you to think carefully about what to say to your father.鈥 Aiden glances at me. 鈥淗e probably doesn鈥檛 want to hurt you. If you give him what he wants, he鈥檒l let us out.鈥
鈥淗ow? He locked us in.鈥 I contain a frustrated yell.
The psycho."

Aiden is literally defending Agnus after he locks them in. He tells Elsa that if she gives Agnus what he wants, then he'll let them go.... IS HE SERIOUS?! Who the hell is this Aiden??

"All his actions lead back to my father鈥檚 well-being.
Well, all except for locking me in a basement with no way out.
That reality of things hits me hard when Aiden pulls and pushes the door with no result.
We鈥檙e trapped."

Agnus only ever cared about Ethan and clearly wanted his dick. What he did is despicable. I don't understand why the author inserts so many "psychopaths" in her book in order to explain and condone selfishness and obsession. He almost killed Ethan's daughter! There's no way in hell that should ever be overlooked! "After all, he has no moral compass stopping him from eliminating people who don鈥檛 fit into his bigger picture." What Elsa said is true.

"I might not have accomplished much, but I at least saved her and Knox. They鈥檙e the best thing that happened to my life after Elsa.
And Agnus."

Oh he means the Agnus who left his daughter locked in a basement for more than two freaking days only for her to fall very ill? The Agnus who did what he did to his mentally unstable wife? Sure, sure.
And Ethan, you really did accomplish nothing. Karma's a bitch, bitch.

I found it funny when Jonathan said this:

鈥淲here鈥檚 your dog?鈥 I poke Ethan. 鈥淗ave you lost the leash?鈥
鈥淲atch it, Jonathan. I won鈥檛 allow you to disrespect Agnus.
鈥淭ouchy, aren鈥檛 we?鈥
鈥淗e saved Aiden that day,鈥 he says with an edge of smugness. 鈥淚f it weren鈥檛 for Agnus, you would鈥檝e lost your only son.鈥
鈥淎gnus the saviour,鈥 I mock.

Yeah.. pretty sure Jonathan didn't specify he meant Aggy when he said dog, but you sure did lol. And sure, this is the Agnus you love so much and know so well but don't realize he almost killed your Elsa. Give me a fucking break, Kent. I will never root for Ethan and Agnus now. Fuck them both. What a dumbass pair! Oh and Agnus wouldn't have had to save Aiden if you hadn't put Aiden in that situation in the first place.

This is ridiculous! I've read the books that come after this so I know what eventually happens between Agnus and Ethan so it pisses me off even more!

When Ethan said this to Jonathan I wanted to laugh:
...But do you know what鈥檚 the difference between you and me? I consider Elsa鈥檚 well-being before my own.鈥

After reading Jonathan's book, I think Ethan had a lot of nerve spewing this bullshit. You consider her well-being before your own? Are you so sure about that, old man? I don't believe this shit for a second.

And then:
鈥淲ait,鈥 I say against his mouth. 鈥淲hat were you and Agnus talking about earlier?鈥
鈥淲e鈥檙e planning something. It鈥檚 going to be fun.鈥
Aiden and Agnus are planning something.

I fucking hated Aiden in this instance more than any of the others. Goddamn it, I needed Agnus to face consequences. Not even a few cuss words aimed his way? Seriously? It wouldn't have been enough but the author doesn't even give us that. Instead he gets off scot-free and Aiden conspires with him. GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK, KENT.

I really can't excuse what Aiden did- or failed to do. I seriously can't forgive or overlook this type of bullshit. I don't give two shits about Agnus and Ethan being together, I needed Agnus GONE or for the millionth time, he at least needed to pay for what he did.

If this author wanted a trilogy so bad, she should've made sure to remain consistent and should've made shit make sense. A duet would've been better but money talks I guess.

My favourite book from the trilogy but I still don't like Aiden and how he never shows any emotions.
I am happy that we had more of Teal and Knox in here.

So I gave the first book 5 stars
The second book 4 stars

And now this
See the thing is, when the characters constantly have sex all the damn time, there is a breaking point for some people. And the third book was my breaking point.

This series should have been a duology. It would have been hands down one of the best series I would have read this year. But this last book ruined everything for me. I鈥檓 sorry but this one was filled with TOOO MUCH EXTRA DRAMA. Like the side characters are getting their own books, so I don鈥檛 want to read about them here. I just want Aiden and Elsa. But even their story was being dragged on and on. Lmao this one scene god. I have to speak about it because IDEK. So Aiden and Elsa are LOCKED in the basement. So what do they do? 馃檮
They had sex....... Anal sex for the first time.

And each book Elsa omg Idek what happened to her she went from being strong to being hypnotized by Aidens dick.

So anyway the two stars is for the epilogue because I鈥檓 happy that Aiden and Elsa finally got their happy ending and was also happy to read that Aiden was still as possessive as before.

I鈥檒l always love a found family trope. Elsa finding Ethan, Knox, and Teal makes me so happy. She deserves to know the truth and they all did. The backstories with them all about what really happened hurt my heart.

鉁 (鉂佱礂蛨爽岽椡) 嗉 Warning : This review contains minor character and plot spoilers! Read at your own risk.

Twisted Kingdom is the final book in the Aiden Elsa trilogy, and I am both sad to say goodbye to this couple and also so relieved it's finally over. I don't think I can take another chapter in Elsa's head before I start bashing my skull into concrete. While I absolutely couldn't stand Elsa in the second book, and she did get on my nerves a great deal in this one, the plot was the biggest part of this book and it's the reason why I find it to have been the best in their trilogy. Ignoring character review, I'm going straight into my review rants. I kind of think I might lower my review in the future, but for now I'll settle for this!

: 虠虁鉃 My Review Rants

There was no reason why Aiden and Elsa needed a trilogy. A duology would've been absolutely enough, I would almost argue that you could skip the entirety of Steel Princess except for its final ~20 pages, and jump straight from Deviant King to Twisted Kingdom and miss nothing at all. There was a severe lack of development in the second book, but I was surprised and relatively happy that this book served the plot I was starving for.

The trauma Elsa endured was guaranteed to be dark and gruesome from the first book and the snippets we got then, but this book takes a full nose-dive straight into her past and we learn EVERYTHING alongside her. And it was brutal. Elsa was so young, so innocent, and had to endure so much abuse at the hands of her mother and then watch as Aiden himself was abused because of her as well. I loved seeing Teal and Knox be tied into Elsa's past and to know they got a happy future thanks to Angus and Ethan made my heart warm.

I will say, I was considering giving this book a 3 star rating because of the flashbacks we got. I really loved the dive into Elsa's abusive childhood and the complexities of her mother's mental illnesses, but child Elsa made me cringe. She was seven-years-old in the flashbacks, but she read more like a 3-4 year old instead. I often caught myself grimacing or questioning the flashbacks because of that, but I did my best to overlook it until the further in we got and the deeper the flashbacks delved. The kissing between child Elsa and child Aiden, as well as the bizarre marriage promise to Aiden while he was literally tortured and locked up was really unsettling to me. I know it was used as a tool to show child Elsa gave child Aiden the strength to get through the abuse, but it just felt so odd and unnecessary. But maybe I'm overthinking that! Either way, it wasn't really my cup of tea during the flashbacks.

I loved every side character in this book. Aunt Blair, Uncle Jaxon, the four horsemen, Silver, Kim, Teal, Knox. Every single one of them were so fun or interesting to read about during the book that it added so much more life to the characters and series.

Another thing I enjoyed was the LACK OF SEX!!!! YES!!!! I know, Elsa and Aiden not having sex??? Unheard of, truly! But the entire first ~60% of the book, there is no sex. It is pure plot development and psychological recovery and focus on family, growth, and uncovering the parts of her memories that were hidden too deep in her subconscious. I really appreciated that her time taken to focus on herself and learn to trust and stop fighting against Aiden took over a majority of this book because their sex life was a bit repetitive.

Speaking of sex though, gotta say another thing I didn't particularly like was the fact that they not only had sex, but also had anal sex in the same spot where Elsa's mother blew her face off... I don't know. It just felt weird to me, but maybe I'm just too new to dark romance, which could play a part in it! Maybe as I delve further into the Rina verse, I won't be so nitpicky over such details and will learn to let loose like the characters can.

Also!!!!! I wish we got Aiden telling Elsa he loves her!!!!!!!!!!! There was so much emphasis on Elsa telling Aiden she loves him for the first time and the few times she does do it throughout this book, but we never get a direct quote from Aiden himself telling her he loves her, and that really sucked. It felt like such a massive waste in character development for him. I know he shows he loves her through his actions and the way he cares so so so so so much for her, but the verbal affirmation of his love would've been very sweet! Even just once.

: 虠虁鉃 Final Thoughts

4/5 for the plot, because I genuinely loved how everything tied in together and finished up. I do think the epilogue was ridiculous, and it's weird to jump 3 years into the future when the next book goes back to the next couple in high school, but I guess I'll stop dwelling on that! I really enjoyed the plot and the development of all of the characters in this book and I genuinely cannot wait to jump into Xander and Kim's book next. I'm giving this book a 1.5/5 for the spice because honestly? I'm tired of reading about Elsa and Aiden having sex. It got boring in the second book lol.

Great trilogy! Even better ending that I anticipated. I just stand by the fact that Steel Princess didn't need to exist, and this should've been a duology.

鈥淲hat I feel for you isn鈥檛 only love, obsession, or addiction. It鈥檚 all of those and more. Do you know what that means, sweetheart? It means I can鈥檛 live without you, so don鈥檛 you fucking dare leave me.鈥

5 鈥滱iden King and Elsa steel鈥 stars 猸愶笍猸愶笍猸愶笍猸愶笍猸愶笍

I thought the worst monsters were the ones from my childhood. Turns out, my worst monster had the most hypnotic metallic eyes and the inkiest black hair. He has a penetrating gaze that dissects me and sees straight into the darkest depths of my soul.
My monster is all tall, powerful, and beautiful.
My monster is Aiden King.

This trilogy ended with a BANG. I am not going to be forgetting their story for a long while. It鈥檚 imprinted in my mind. I honestly loose interest in characters when it comes to trilogy but fortunately I couldn鈥檛 get enough of Aiden and his possessive ways. This author is fucking brilliant and am thinking why the hell did I started it so late and at the same time glad that I finally did. Each book packed a hell of a punch. Their was so many unexpected twists and turns, mystery, suspense and whole lot of romance.

鈥滷uck them.鈥 Aiden grips my chin with two fingers as his other hand yanks my boy shorts down my legs. 鈥淚 need you, sweetheart. I fucking need to be inside you like I need air.鈥
I need you, too.
But I don鈥檛 have to say it aloud. Aiden must鈥檝e read it in my eyes. He really knows me more than I know myself.

What I loved the most was how I got to see the soft and vulnerable side to Aiden. Don鈥檛 worry he was definitely his arrogant, possessive and obsessive self but with whole lot of sweetness too. His love for Elsa was fierce and so beautiful. They truly were soulmates.

We finally got all the answers about their past and it honestly made me shed a few tears( which is really hard for me). How they had to pay for their parents mistakes. But then again it only made their journey more epic and amazing. They were each other鈥檚 strengths as kids as well as adults. I don鈥檛 know how this author does it but their chemistry was just as steamy and hot as the first time. Honestly each time just makes me blush more and more and I wound not have it any other way.

The secondary characters were just as funny and interesting as ever. I also loved the two newest addition Knox and Teal who are foster siblings of Elsa. I enjoyed how we got a little glimpse into Ethan and Jonathan鈥檚 mind as well. Ethan was truly an amazing father to Elsa.

She鈥檚 mine. Fucking mine.
It鈥檚 not only her body or her heart that I鈥檓 interested in, I want her entire soul so she鈥檒l never be able to leave me.
Some would argue this isn鈥檛 the right thing, but fuck the right thing.
Elsa and I didn鈥檛 meet under the right circumstances. We just met, and then we re-met, and then we became inseparable.

I am sad that their story has come to an end, I feel like I still haven鈥檛 had my fill of them and here I thought I was going to get bored(silly me). Their story shows us that we can overcome anything and always to look for the future. I can鈥檛 say it enough but you need this author in your life ASAP. Fall in love with Aiden just like I did.

P.S : I think Ronan and Teal are going to have their story. A arranged marriage romance. That鈥檚 my best guess. Also I can鈥檛 wait to get my hands on Cole and Silver鈥檚 story. 鈾ワ笍
