I decided to try and brush up on my Spanish and was wonderfully surprised by the selection of eye witness books available in Spanish. Anfibios is am instructional book that briefly covers many facts ranging from mating to self defense among Amphibians. I loved the side trivia provided to lighten the factual nature of the book. I also enjoyed the ways that the pages were displayed, often with excellent depiction of movement. THe composition was highly engaging.
These DK Eyewitness books are a huge hit at our house. They are full of interesting facts and colorful pictures. We are using these as non-fiction read-alouds for early elementary and typically cover one 2-page spread a night. (The books are aimed at Grades 3-7 for an independent reader.) The books are well-organized and contain sections at the end about jobs in and tools used for studying the topic and places to go for more information.

Our library has a little different cover of Eyewitness Amphibian, so I'm not sure it's this book--but we're appreciating these more and more (ie read in small chunks and appreciate the pictures.) I LOVE the page where it shows the dissected anatomy of a frog--great if you want to do a real dissection
