This books is part of the "Fall-ing in Love with Daddy" one-week giveaway on ProlificWorks.
Reese Morrison lives in Philadelphia with their partner, two precocious children, and intermittent housemates, guests, and homeless, queer teens. Their hobbies are volunteering on too many boards, planting gardens that they forget to water half-way through the summer, making up songs for their kids, and putting off writing their dissertation.
Reese and their partner both identify as genderqueer and are part of a vibrant community of queer and trans folks. They started writing because they were dissatisfied with the lack of trans and genderqueer characters in what they were reading and finally decided to do something about it. Many, but not all, of their books are kinky (for a whole range of kinks...) and they feel that it's important to represent a range of backgrounds, dis/abilities, gender presentations/ identities, and body types in their writing.
I thought this was really nicely done. Reese Morrison puts a lot of thought and sensitivity into Philip's character. Both with the Daddy/boy interactions, Jason's growing disablities, and with Phil's ongoing experiences being trans.
Only 30 pages, but it reads like it's longer - well developed characters as well as their relationship. Nicely done.
Reread July 2022 Just a quick little reread to get past the big heavy book I read yesterday and it was just what I needed.
Original review Very short and very sweet but obviously a winner. I will devour anything that Reese Morrison writes and this is no exception. This book has a trans MC and a disabled bisexual MC. They are an established couple and have Been together for over 10 years when Phil decides to see if his daddy will go along with something new. Jason gets worried that his connective tissue disorder is getting in the way of Phil's ability to love him. He has some worries about potentially needing to retire early and / or starting to use a wheelchair instead of the cane that he normally uses.
Of course both of our MCs are worrying for nothing because Jason will do anything for Phil and Phil anything for Jason. This is sweet and fluffy with one explicit scene and minor age play. No ABDL. Small mentions of different medical procedures for trans folks, specifically trans men including top and bottom surgery.
Disabled bi fat MC, connective tissue disorder and chronic pain. Uses mobility devices like cane, modified car for driving, and discussions of wheelchair use.
We come into this novella with an already established couple. Philip and Jason have been together for almost a decade, and Philip completed his transition through that. As always we get some much needed diversity in Philip and his trans identity and Jason grappling with his disability. But they both come together to support each other and their needs in the most impossibly sweet and sexy way. Another lovely read from Reese.
This was a lovely little window into a married couples life together. Both facing personalized and internalized pressures, this short story focuses on them opening up with one another. What results is a sexy little story that packed quite a punch.
I adored how Reese Morrison writes such unique characters. Jason and Philip were no exceptions. This was a great afternoon read.
I did learn a lot with this short story, the author packed a lot in these few pages and while the "little" dynamic isn't for me, the rest of the story was pretty enlightening in a good way.
The author touched on quite a few sensitive topics through the characters in a way that read organically and easily. It was so much more than just a story about two people sharing a kink and for that alone it's worth the read, even if the kink isn't your thing.
Morrison just always gets me right in the feelings. So many of her stories focus on joy and this one is no exception.
This short story is about Jason and Philip who have been a couple for over 10 years. They are both still happily in love with one another but some small issues have been piling up concerning their D/s scenes and Jason's mobility. There is so much to these characters despite the short word count. Both things are handled with care and respect as the couple works through them and it culminates in a sweet bedroom scene.
I've received an advanced reading copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Anything You Want is a cute short story by Reese Morrison. It's about husband's Jason and Phil. I really liked their story. It was sweet, sexy and very well written.
I can't not love anything Reese Morrison writes. Sorry, just not possible. Once again, this was not my kink at all but I liked the way the author wrote about her character's needs and mostly their relationship. Jason and Phil have been together for a long time and the problems they face in this story reflect that. More the sex scenes or passionate conversations, which I really appreciated was how Reese gave us two soft people in love with their spouse, that showed their commitment and worship to each other with small mindful acts such as noticing when the other was having a bad day and cooking their favorite meal and letting them relax or hugging in the couch and watching tv. I also really loved that we got some beautiful trans representation and with one of the men being significantly older and dealing with a disability comes with its own insecurities so we got casual and not so casual conversations about gender expectations pre and post-op, getting older, dealing with pain and a degenerative condition and how that does not affect the love they feel for each other, how they still love each other's bodies, scars, wrinkles and hair and all the things that make us human. This was delightful, simply delightful. Thank you to Reese Morrison for allowing me to review this DRC.
Anything You Want is a short and sweet story for Jason and his boy, Phil/Pip, who have been together for ten years now but each man seems to be worried about something. It's adorable reading Phil go from adult to little as it's such a quick change and Jason's love for him as both shines through. Though it's a novella, there's a fair amount of history given on the journey they've had in life so far and then about what they both have on their mind at the moment. I felt like we get to know them quite quickly and understand the worries they have, each valid but with a little communication, minds are put to rest. A recommended read from this author. I love her other work that most often includes members of the disabled and trans community. I would love to hear from and explore more with this couple again in the future to see how things progress. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. This is a sweet littles daddy moment with big issues that was amazing and lovely to read while even giving us the steamy goodness that is craved. Jason was everything Phillip could ask for in the husband and daddy area, he understanding of Phil's needs was such an amazing read, taking care of Pip when the need to be little was overwhelming. Only something was off with them the last few weeks, was Pip done with Jason as a daddy, fear of the unknown was one more thing that Jason didn't think he could handle along with his body's mobility.
This story is just long enough to give readers a snapshot of a beautiful relationship: one built on trust, open communication, and so much love it’s almost overwhelming (in a good way). Both Phil (Pip) and Jason have been worrying about things they truly need to share, and when they do, it’s sweet, hot, and a lovely affirmation of what they mean to each other. I liked both characters so much, respected the dynamic they’d built together, and was really happy with where the story leaves them. Well worth a read.
An ARC was provided to me by the author and I have chosen to publish a fair and honest review.
A short story with a large dose of sweetness, Morrison writes his characters with great respect and sweetness. The two MC are an established couple, who face a moment in their relationship in which they need to make changes and Phil a trans man who wants to take another step in his relationship with his Daddy; and Jason with a degenerative disease that hinders mobility must make a decision to make his life more comfortable which implies recognizing that his physical condition is deteriorating, the concern of what these changes entail and the time to face them and cope with them as a couple is what is narrated in this short in a really sweet way.
This is a sweet and sexy story that gives you a look into the lives of Phillip and Jason. The two have been happily together for years but recently there seems to be some tension between them. It all comes to a head one night when Jason and Phillip finally decide to figure things out. I enjoyed the love and emotions throughout this book. It was nice to see the interactions and the connection that Phillip and Jason have. This story may be a quick one, but it has a lot to say. The two men quickly endeared themselves to this reader and seeing the depth of their relationship made for a wonderful read.
This was sooo sweet and steamy! Phil and Jason have been together for ten years. Jason feels like Phil is hiding something and is he ever! Jason finally get out of Phil what he’s hiding and to Phil’s surprise, Jason is willing and ready to accommodate Phil. Loved, loved, loved this story sooo much. It was short but sweet with a side of heat! Overall, a great read! The story was really well written, the pacing flowed smoothly, highly recommend. The story kept me engaged, I literally could NOT put it down. I’m voluntarily reviewing from an advanced copy that I received. My review is solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
Philip/Pip and Jason are a committed couple each with their own challenges. One of them is not being considerate of one another. They each want to please the other and are careful about what they want to ask of one another. So when Philip has been having a hard time at work and decides there is something that he wants that seems outside of their dynamic he hesitates to ask. But his ask is not too much because just like he wants to please, so does his partner. This was good because of the emotion and thoughtfulness that sits behind their actions with one another. It is a short story that was really sweet and a pleasure to read. I received an ARC for an honest review.
Oh wow. As soon as I started reading this, I was immediately sucked into the world of Phil/Pip and Jason. And it's a wonderful world!
Jason and Phil have been in a Daddy and boy relationship for a decade, but there's something more that Phil wants. And it's up to Jason to find out what he wants.
I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just say this book is a must read. It's classic Reese Morrison, with sweet and relatable characters. It's a short story, but long enough to feel a connection with the story.
Anything You Want by Reese Morrison is an age-play romance told in dual POV. I loved this story. Fast-paced but truly memorable and vibrant characters.
Phillip waiting for his Daddy to text him. Jason is Phillip’s Daddy.
Phil is a transgendered little boy and Jason is a kind and sweet Daddy.
They grow a lot in this book. They learn a lot more about each other. This is a short snippet of their life. I really liked it. I would love to read more about them in the future.
3 stars because there were parts of this that I really liked and parts that didn’t seem quite right, at least to me.
I mostly liked how transness was depicted, though there were a few times it felt like it was getting a bit close to toxic masculinity. I’m certainly not saying how a trans man can talk about himself, this is just how it came across to me.
I also like how disability was depicted. I really liked how accepting both Philip and Jason are to what the other needs, in terms of affirming actions (Philip) and physical needs (Jason).
Super short, sweet and wholesome (and k!nky) romance with an established couple. After 10 years Phil needs something, and this novella show's him asking for it and receiving it.
Top tier disability representation, I adored that it showed Jason's internal conflict and how a supportive partner can really make things less overwhelming.
The author was new to me and I'll be looking to read more of their work in the future.
I really loved this. It was short and sweet, and over all perfect. One thing I epically loved was how the main character was trans, but wasn’t angsty. I find that with a lot of books with trans characters, there’s a ton of angst and drama and problems, and I really appreciated that in this book the character simply was. They story had a trans character without focusing the entire book on them being trans. There aren’t enough romances like this.
This is a sweet, short story about an existing couple, Phillip and Jason who are in a daddy/boy relationship.
Phillip has got something on his mind and he has been keeping it from his daddy. Jason loves his boy but is struggling with his health issues. This is a short story but it confirms that a boy shouldn’t keep secrets from his daddy and that a daddy should never forget that his boy will look after him too. A really well written and heartwarming story.
I received this book as an ARC - my first ever ARC, in fact! This is a short and sweet bite-sized romance about a married couple dealing with some insecurities and uncertainties. Even with how short it was, I connected with the characters and understood where they were each coming from with their own insecurities. It's only about 15K/50 pages long, so it's the perfect refreshing quick read for anyone looking for something with a HEA other books, or who might be in a bit of a reading slump!
This was so different! A little trans boy wanting to introduce something new into his relationship with his Daddy and husband. A Daddy warring with his own worries and questioning why his boy seems to be so nervous lately... This short story is fun and sexy but also deeply emotional. What stook out for me is the complete love and devotion Jason and Pip have for each other.
This was really cute (and pretty hot) but no one is surprised about that because it's Reese Morrison and they're a babe. Pip was adorable, I was also feeling Jason and their relationship. As always love the rep. As someone who has a chronic illness, I can say it was done super well. And real talk now I'm just waiting on that full book haha. I'm a patient person, I can wait as long as it takes.
I received a copy of this book from the author, and this is my honest review. If you're looking for a swoony, cute, heart-melting short story, you've found it. Phil and Jason lighted my evening. It is astonishing how, in a way or another, Reese manage always to get me all emotional. Do yourself a favor, and read it!
Cute book! Really sweet story about an already established couple, how they communicate and grow with the challenges live throws at them. Their love for eachother shines through all the pages and give you the feeling like you sit on a cozy sofa infront of a stove while enjoying a hot chocolate. Love it!
