Mad Love

Rate this book
In this third volume of the Don't Close Your Eyes series, the love triangle between Jase, Kinsley and Klive stalls.
Exhausted with Klive's mind games, Kinsley cozies up to Jase.
At long last, Kinsley is his to urge toward the wild side he's used to living on, but is she cut out for his way of life?
Similarly frustrated by Kinsley, Klive steps back, resolved to define her as a momentary lapse in judgement. He embraces his responsibilities for Nightshade without reservation.
While 'sweet Kins' loses her inhibitions with Jase, she meets a side of herself she doesn't recognize. An inner war ensues as she simultaneously battles old enemies but adds a scary new one when testing the temper of not only Inferno, but the biker gang's leader, Ray, after he threatens her and her co-worker, Sara.
Not one to back down, Kinsley's foolish mouth pushes her luck to dangerous places.
Despite his best attempts to allow Jase to carry his own baggage, Klive deploys his alter ego in disguise and steps off the sidelines to stand beside Kinsley in keeping Inferno at bay, officially bringing Nightshade into an inevitable turf war.
Henley has a face! He's real and has her back, but in accepting his protection, Kinsley draws closest to the one placing her in the most peril due to his disrespect of those who control Nightshade and Klive.
Set in the tropical locales of Florida, this dual POV romantic suspense follows Klive, Kinsley and Jase into their perilous conflicts between good, evil, love, hate and the bounds they break when pushed to their limits.

HOT HOT HOT! Layne steps up the steam factor in her 3rd offering of the DCYE series, and controversy to boot! Love it or hate it, you're invested in the saga if you're with us this far. Hang on tight, because as we've discovered, there are as many as 11 more books to go to reach conclusion. We were impressed with the writing in book 1, drawn in further by book 2, but this 3rd book has amped up the stakes, and it's getting crazy interesting. Congratulations, Lynessa, we're in for the long haul. More Jase, more Rustin, more Klive and more stranger danger hotness! Looking forward to book 4!

If you read the first two books, this one will slap you in the face, make you like it, then feel dirty for liking it, then want another, then want to slap self, then slap the book characters like Constance does. Naughty naughty characters. Kinsley falls from grace in epic fashion, but I can't spoil for other reader. Can't stop thinking about it.

Kinsley need a spankin'. Very let down in her behavior. She need to get straight and come to Jesus baby! Oooh Jase. Shame on you! No you didn't! Time for Klive to take over and fix this mess!

‘Mad Love, the third in Author Lynessa Layne’s ‘Don’t Close Your Eyes series, ramps up the danger and intrigue surrounding twenty-five-year-old college track star, Kinsley. This series, written for young adult readers, is loaded with sexual tension, and ‘Mad Love is no exception. The competing gangs, Inferno and Nightshade, become more defined in this novel, but there remain a number of just-barely-answered questions about the true identities, roles and motives of her two love interests, Klive and Jase. Set in bars, at parties, on the beach, in bedrooms, etc., the author has succeeded in catching the vocabulary, emotions, and the haunts of many adolescents and readers in their early twenties. She also offers a song list at each novel’s beginning to help set the moods as her readers enjoy the plots she weaves. In ‘Mad Love, the all-American, level-headed girl known as “Sweet Kins has managed to have a tear-the-hair-out, kick-the-teeth-out fight with a beauty queen who has bullied her for years. She has gotten involved in some kinky sexual behaviors. She also walks with head held high into danger and goads the very dangerous criminal head of the Inferno organization. She has both Klive and Jase wrapped around her little finger. Or does she? It is possible their romantic love for her is no more than a cover for at least one of them as they line up the time and place to murder her. Who can she really trust? Although I continue to struggle with Kinsley calling the men, even her romantic interests, “sir, she is a strong young woman who demands independence. That said, for twenty-five, she seems quite immature. But these are facets of her character that make her the young woman she is. ‘Dangerous Games: Enemies to Lovers is book 4 in the series and is already lined up for reading on my Kindle.

Ms. Layne’s book 3 picks up her characters without missing a beat. The story continues to be compelling and rolls along at a perfect speed. Although I am not sure just what Kins is thinking, the results she gets keeps me panting for more. I love these characters. Can’t wait to see what they do next!

I started the series with this book so I was a little lost in the beginning. The chart in the front of the book that gives you a little detail about each character was so helpful. I liked this book so now I have to go back and read the first too so that I feel like I'm all caught up. All I know is Klive.. I'm rooting for you baby... Can't wait for the next book!!!

I won a copy of this book on the giveaways page and I'm so glad I entered.

It's a nice love story but it's already very normal, nothing surprising.
