In this long-awaited next installment, Brianna and Stephan are settling into their new home outside of Le Sueur. The river that runs behind their house provides a peace Brianna had never found in the city.
It’s been three years since she stood in a courtroom and faced the man who’d held her captive and altered her life forever. Since then, she’d been trying to move on with her life...trying to find her way.
The move was part of that. Too many people knew who Stephan was—who she was. They needed a fresh start.
But demons are funny things. They follow you wherever you go. With the help of Stephan and a new therapist, Brianna will have to face the changes in her life and confront her fears.
Sherri picked up her first romance novel when she was twelve and immediately she was hooked. She would stay up reading long after everyone else in her house had gone to bed, needing to see the hero and heroine get their happily ever after. But Sherri never imagined becoming an author.
At the age of thirty, all that changed. After getting frustrated with the direction a television show was taking two of its characters, Sherri decided to try her hand at writing an alternative ending to give the characters the happy ending they deserved.
Since then, writing has become a creative outlet that allows her to explore a wide range of emotions, while having fun taking her characters through all the twists and turns she can create. You can find a current list of all of Sherri’s books and sign up for her newsletter at .
As a reader, it is rare to find an author who touches my heart in such an intimate manner. Sherri Hayes Finding Anna Series did just that. I’ve agonized with Anna and Steven during the first four books of the series. I’ve rejoiced with each step Anna took forward fighting to leave the pain, fear and torturous memories of being sold into slavery to pay her fathers debts. In Change, the fifth book in this series, Anna is still growing and it is evident that she is finding her voice. She is a survivor! This is a book that may not be for everyone, but it tells the story of one young woman’s journey and the man who saved her.
I was so happy to see that Anna and Stephan were getting another book, and it did not disappoint! It’s been four years since everything went down and Anna and Stephan have moved to a new town and gotten on with their lives. Anna still struggles with anxiety but is working a therapist to help her overcome certain obstacles. This was a beautiful addition to their story, not only did you get to see how their life has progressed but you get new and exciting plot twist to keep you firmly invested in this story. A beautiful love story with plenty of sexiness and heartfelt moments, I couldn’t read fast enough!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The blurb for book four had said that book four was the fourth and final book of the Finding Anna series. At the end of book four there is an epilogue that covers five years into the future. In that epilogue we learned that Stephan and Brianna moved to the country, that Brianna received her GED, and that the two of them got married.
As I started Change, the fifth book of a four book series I was already questioning what to expect. Would we pick up after the epilogue? What story would be told? Unfortunately, at the end of Change I am still questioning the addition of another book. I'm also wondering if there will be future books.
Change does give us more time with Stephan and Brianna, two characters we've come to love. We quickly find out that, even though book four's epilogue shared the events happening in the five years after Ian Pierce's trial, book five starts two years after the trial. At this point Stephan and Brianna have moved to the country, but Brianna hasn't earned her GED nor have they married. Book five focuses mainly on Logan and Lily's wedding and the events leading up to the wedding. There are several fittings and a bachelorette party that Brianna must attend and it's at each of these that she must deal with a gold digging fellow bridesmaid who would like to take Stephan. Brianna handles herself well and has faith in her relationship with Stephan. Logan and Lily get married at the end of the book and Stepan asks Brianna a very important question at the end of the reception. Then THE END. I'm just not sure it's the end of Stephan and Brianna's stories. Will there be more? I feel this might be the way to add books to the series. For anyone who enjoys Stephan and Brianna's stories this would be good news.
If there are going to be more books, I think the author should either take out the epilogue at the end of book four or should give the readers the choice either a) to finish the series or b) to continue with Stephen and Brianna's story. Those who wish to end their time with Stephan and Brianna should read the epilogue in book four. Those who want to continue with Stephan and Brianna should NOT read the epilogue in book four. It was just confusing to have so much information from book four's epilogue and have so little of it covered in book five. At the end of book five I felt a little lost. I enjoyed what I read, but unlike at the end of book four where I felt I got closure, at the end of book five I feel like I'm dangling, waiting for another book to continue the story. At the very least if another book is going to be released a mention of it would alert the reader that the story continues. As it stands, I'm guessing the story continues.
I do highly recommend reading the Finding Anna series by Sherri Hayes. It is easy to fall in love with the characters and the story is a good one. I just have questions as to what the author's intentions are for the future of this series.
I can’t wait for the next book!!! The entire series was so gripping I couldn’t put them down. Anna’s story is so tragic yet her strength and love brought her through so much!!!
Reviewed for Change is the fifth full-length book in Sherri Hayes’s Finding Anna series and the next installment in Stephan and Brianna’s lives together. It picks up where the epilogue of the previous book, Trust, left off. Four years have gone by since Brianna’s abuser, Ian, was killed, giving her a reprieve from testifying at his trial. To escape the after effects of the media glare, she and Stephan have moved to a beautiful new home in a rural area outside of Le Seur, but Stephan has kept the condo in Minneapolis for when they go to the city to visit. They’re living a nice quiet life, and Brianna is far enough along in her recovery from being sexually trafficked that she’s decided to finally go back to school in the coming year. To prepare for that, she starts learning to drive again with Stephan’s help. She’s also starting to become more comfortable with deepening her sexual play with Stephan, so he slowly introduces new toys and equipment into their sexy times. Without work, Stephan is a little restless, so he explores new opportunities. While Stephan and Brianna continue to grow and change in both their relationship and their personal lives, Logan and Lily announce their engagement and Lily begins whirlwind preparations for their wedding, which she wants to include both Stephan and Brianna. Brianna must work to overcome some of her fears in order to be a part of Lily’s big day. Between the changes for Logan and Lily and Brianna’s friends, Cal and Jade taking next steps in their relationship, wedding fever makes both Stephan and Brianna start to consider what the future looks like for them. Meanwhile, Brianna comes face-to-face with her past when she spots a man she knows from her time with Ian and it looks like the man is about to abuse another young girl. She must also deal with one of Lily’s bridesmaids who sets her sights on Stephan.
Brianna is still very quiet and submissive and can be easily frightened by the unexpected, but she’s come a long way in the past four years with Stephan. It was exciting to see her relearning how to drive and preparing for the upcoming GED classes. It was also heartening to see her as such an eager participant in her sex play with Stephan, something that now brings her comfort and solace rather than pain and degradation. With Stephan’s patient tutelage, she become more comfortable with several new sexual scenarios, making this the steamiest book in the series yet. Even though I know that Brianna is only a fictional character, I couldn’t help feeling proud of her for pushing herself out of her comfort zone to be a part of Logan and Lily’s big day, since they’ve been such good friends to her and Stephan. It’s not easy, at first, with Lily’s college friend, Bridget, flirting rather blatantly with Stephan. Although Lily has words with her at one point, everyone for the most part tries to ignore the annoying woman until she does something really devious. Even that, Brianna handles surprisingly well. But one of her best moments is when, following a fundraiser at a fancy hotel, she spots a man who abused her when she was with Ian and she has to muster her courage to try to prevent him from further abusing the young girl who was accompanying him. The way Brianna steps up to help the girl in the aftermath was wonderful and makes me wonder if, as she continues to grow, she might have a future in counseling or some sort of victim advocacy. I kind of hope so.
Stephan is still the same patient, loving man he’s always been. After nearly facing prison in the previous book for having purchased Brianna’s freedom from Ian and being forced to step down from his job as CEO of the Coleman Foundation, he was just looking for a quiet place to escape the media, some of whom had painted him in a very derogatory light. He’s found that at their new home with Brianna whom he’s crazy in love with. However, even though he’s wealthy enough to not have to work, he rather misses the challenge, so he’s been scouting new opportunities. In the meantime, he teaches Brianna how to drive again and helps get her acclimated to the idea of going out alone to school when her GED classes begin. When she starts to show an interest in other types of sex play, even though it still gives her anxiety to try new things, he eagerly but patiently introduces her to more exciting forms of play, which really satisfies the dom in him. As best man for his best friend, Logan, he’s also involved in some of the wedding planning, which places him in Bridget’s orbit. He isn’t the least bit interested in her blatant flirtations, but he tries to be polite without doing anything to encourage her. When Brianna spots one of her former abusers, Stephan doesn’t hesitate to go after the guy in a smart way to try to prevent even more abuse from occurring and completely supports Brianna’s need to make sure the girl is okay. I still adore Stephan and think he’ll always be one of my favorite book boyfriends.
Change was yet another sweet and sexy installment in Stephan and Brianna’s romance. I believe that Sherri Hayes intended to end their story with the fourth book but I’m so glad she decided to continue. I enjoyed seeing this couple experience new changes for the better in their lives. I’m glad Stephan was able to get back to the philanthropy work he loves so much, because he’s really good at helping and caring for people. I’m especially impressed with the strides Brianna has made in her interactions with others as well as in her life as both an individual and with Stephan. Because of what happened to her in the past, I think she may always be wary of other people but she bravely faced a number of things that made her anxious without melting down, so she’s grown a great deal. Since Brianna was also able to expand her sexual interests, there were plenty of yummy, sexy scenes for her and Stephan that explored new territory for them. I think it’s wonderful how loving and trusting they are with each other. It was also great to see Logan and Lily and Cal and Jade take steps forward in their relationships, which spur Stephan and Brianna in the direction of making decisions about their own future together. There’s a touch of drama and conflict with Bridget and her machinations, and there’s also a small amount of suspense and excitement when Brianna identifies one of her former abusers. All in all, Change was a very well-rounded book that was a pleasure to read. I was excited to learn that the author has plans for one more installment for Stephan and Brianna, which I’m very much looking forward to, but it’s going to be very hard to say goodbye to this couple when the time comes.
Note: This book contains a small amount of explicit language and a number of explicit sexual situations, including a D/s relationship, bondage, spanking, sensory play, and use of sex toys, which could be objectionable to sensitive readers.
Brianna and Stephen, how do I explain how much these characters mean to me? This book gives you so many great feelings as we are brought back to this wonderful world a few years after the last book takes place.
Brianna is in the end proven to be such a strong character. You can see how much she has changed even over just the years we missed of their lives but also from the first time we met her.
Stephen is it possible he got even more wonderful? His caring nature is something every girl should strive to have. That protectiveness and that willingness to do anything to be with Brianna is such a powerful feeling.

I was so looking forward to a sequel to this series so when I heard there was one, I jumped at the chance to read it. I had already preordered the book, but then got an opportunity to get the book earlier from booksprout. I had technical issues in getting it, so I just had to wait until I got my copy to read and review. It was everything I was looking for. Stephan has proven time and again his love for Brianna. She has grown so much under his care. She still has a ways to go, but with his help, she will continue to blossom. Got a little frustrated with the whole Bridget situation though... what a bitch!. Hope there is more to come.
Did NOT like. The suspension of disbelief was already slipping dangerously throughout the original 4 book saga, but with this one, you'd have to add an apparent complete disregard from the author towards her own story and characters. She seems to forget SO MANY events that happened in the previous books and plainly contradicts them. It's like she doesn't even care. Romance was waaaay too trite (even more than in previous books) and kink/sex was much less appealing, since I was increasingly disliking the characters and the story as a whole.
This was one series I was not expecting to love as much as I did. It pulls at all your heart strings and keeps you wanting more. The love they have for one another is just so great. I really hope there ends up being at least one more book for this series, I’m not ready to say goodbye yet.
A continuation of the growth between Brianna and Stephan. As things change with their friends Logan and Lily who prepare to get married. Brianna slowly takes additional steps to get more of her freedom and independence back. As she struggles to be out without Stephan , help make decision and the one where she drives etc. This is another step into their relationship as well.
A great read and quite emotional. Loved it.

This hopefully, not last book in the Slave series, may be her best work yet. For all those waiting to know what happened to Brianna after court and how her life has been this story gives those answers. Marvelous sad at times yet triumphant. Brianna has fought hard to recover her life and with Stephan by her side she has made it. Hopefully the end of this book is just the beginning of their story and Sherri will show us the next chapter in Brianna and Stephans life together. We can only hope so.
What a story! A truly in-depth story of healing from trauma. I love a good trauma read and these where *chefsKiss 🤌🏻 If you want a slow burn journey to recovery in a not so traditional relationship this series is perfect for you.
Only reason it’s not five stars is I would have liked to have seen a little more of the happy moments, weddings, maybe babies and what their future would look like - not much changed in the time jump for book 5. Still a great read that will probably leave me in a book slump for a few days
This was a wonderful story of getting on with your life after what she’d been through. She’s at a place of peace and Stephan is there to help her all that he can. She is growing stronger ever day and together they are getting stronger together. This was a wonderful story and they show what being supportive and being what ever the other needs can do for a person emotionally!

Thank you for writing this. I'm working through a lot of trauma of my own and this series is like the stories I tell myself when I can't sleep.
It does happen, maybe my story wasn't as dramatic as Brianna's but one day a wonderful Dom helped me learn how precious I was and now we have a beautiful life together..
I bought 2-5 immediately after reading 1 and I'd buy anything else that comes after.
This was great addition to the Brianna and Stephan story, beautiful and emotional. The love between this two is strong,he is her rock, supporter and lover. They starting fresh, they need to put past behind and forever. Could they escape demons ? Can Brianna has handle herself ? Enjoy reading

She has suffered so much and now she has moved away to try to find some peace but it may not be so easy. She will need his help and even a professional to help her cope what happen to her. Can they help her? Will she ever feel normal? See if she can finally put the past where it belongs

Have read the entire series of Finding Anna. Lovely, heartfelt storyline. All I can say is “more please. The wedding, what happened to Alex, will Stephen ever be forgiven by society, will Anna finish school, baby. I would like to see Anna save Alex somehow from another Master. Thank you for a wonderful story.
Honestly love this couple and felt this is a nice wrap-up to their saga. There are some glaring inconsistencies with the previous books (for example shooter died in previous books, here it mention they hired him a lawyer and he only has to spend five years in prison...) that are hard to ignore but if you're not too picky it doesn't ruin the overall moments between Brianna and Stephen.
The connection between these two main characters are so strong and beautiful.. some scenes touch your heart and some touches your soul. And the hotness will blow up your kindle. Or book, whatever you prefer. 🤓
An amazing story From book 1 to book 5, It has Suspense, Intrigue, Love, Romance, Sexiness. It makes me feel like I'm sitting watching a movie. Cheering for the heroine. I totally recommend Reading this book. Very enlightening.
I really hope she's going to continue this series because I've gotten kind of attached to Brianna and the other characters. I would love to read more about her journey
Really enjoyed and can't wait for the next book. Their story had me at the first book and I couldn't stop reading. Just how he takes care of her at the same time wants what's best for her.
