This author continues his morbid passion for creating drama from rape/sexual assault/ torture/ gore/ human trafficking/ slavery and everything that is evil in our world. It is moronic to write and create a completely different new world, just to make it as bad or worse than our tragic reality. As a second tragic fault, the author seeking that his main character become as invisible as possible (victim of bullying, physical and emotional abuse, the murder and sexual assaults of his mother, etc. etc. etc) makes him androgynous so as to sink him more into the tragedy that is his life. But author makes main character (Rio now) tell the three Japanese that were accidentally tale-transported, that his name was Haruto (his old life's name) and not Rio, to create fake/cheap drama about the confusion/nostalgia of their old love/old stepbrother, etc. It's as if they choose all the possible faults and try to create suspense/drama from this. Who would want to read this? Again, since this is fiction, since this is a whole new world, what is the point to make an alternate reality that is much worse that the really evil world we live in today? Who would want to read this? Author makes Rio, the main character a person filled with fear- self loathing, etc. when everything the main character has done is right and honest. Rio does not rescue the slaves found with the three Japanese people sent/teleported to this new world. Because Rio did not want to interfere with the contracts made in this new world??? He did not even check to see if there were other worlders in the group of captured slaves. Why did he save Latifa and the 3 other Japanese, and not save the rest of the slaves? It's illogical, nonsensical and senseless. If the people are not Japanese then they should stay slaves and suffer torture and sexual assaults/ physical and emotional suffering?? what kind of logic is this? Why would people from other worlds be sent to that hell of a place? Who would want to read or see this? much less experience a hell worse than the evil we experience here on Earth?
This volume is a quite a sharp change of tone compared to the previous 3 volumes, which was more focused on Rio's adventures and exploring the world.
Finally reunited with his first love in a very odd manner, the rest of the book pretty much becomes an awkward love comedy in tone, as Rio decides to wuss out and keep his true identity a secret while catering to her needs hand and foot.
Along the way, the secret helper inside Rio finally awakens, but actually just adds to the romcom antics so that was a rather big letdown at times.
For those that have been liking Seirei Gensouki so far for the more serious tone, especially from Rio, this is definitely a rather jarring change. Nevertheless, the book does offer enough hooks to keep me engaged although the next vol promises to see the return of another heroine from the earlier volumes.
The story is weak and the author tries to fill pages with repetitive lines over and over. Pages are fill with pointless shopping scenes. Even the description of characters expression are repeated endlessly. It looks like Fanservice is used just to thick a checkmark, when is used, doesn’t make any sense nor is funny. The few combats are just boring. After reading the description of their house I can’t think of anything else than the ‘Flinstones’. I know this volume is supposed to set the grounds for this arc, but honestly it doesn’t add much to this serie.
Once again, another excellent addition to the series, with the appearance of some new characters that are old history, and leaving with a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more. Another addition to the series you should definitely check out.
The story progressed and has more information about Rios situation even if he is not forthcoming with this information. He is gathering a harem even if he is unaware of it.
En este volumen es que realmente comienza la historia. En los volumenes anteriores descubrimos los origenes Rio y conocemos un poco mejor como es el mundo en que vive.
