She was charming.... inquisitive... demanding... even occasionally bad-tempered. But he loved her anyway. After all, she was just a cat ...wasn't she?
Veterinarian Troy Shelton has no idea what he's letting himself in for when he rescues a friend's cat from the shelter after a dog attack. The friendly but demanding calico soon has Troy and his pregnant collie wrapped around her furry paw. But strange things begin happening in Troy's home when he’s away, and he could almost think someone else was living there besides him.
Torn and hurting, Katerina appreciates Troy's gentle care. She also appreciates his strong form and handsome face as much as the way he cuddles her. She's trapped in her cat form until her wounds heal, but once she's well again she finds herself oddly reluctant to resume her human form and life away from Troy. But someone else is interested in Troy, and that someone else has already tried to kill Cat once.
This is a classic tale which is nicely done. Vet looks after injured animal which turns out to be more than meets the eye.
Troy is an animal vet. When a cat from the shelter is injured by a dog he takes her home to care for her. Will Troy work out everything isn’t as it seems? Could his new friend turn into more.
I’ve read a few injured shifter books. I really enjoyed this.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Meet Troy's new roommate...

A Cat for Troy is a fun paranormal romance novel with a happy ever after and lots of Cattitude! This is the third book in the Wishes & Dreams paranormal romance series, featuring Djinn and Shapeshifters! While each book can be read as a stand-alone, it's recommended to read them in order for continuity.

Will the devil hunting her endanger more than herself...
I just adored this slow building romance with a dash of danger about a man falling in love with a cat before loving its human dual self. Sure I do believe this book at time crosses over with the previous story as the couple staring in it is equally part of this tale too, yet I did not feel it impeded my reading.
Plus for a shifters story, it was not all mating talk, urge of reproducing, the burgeoning romance between the H&h is all about getting to know one another, to appreciate their inner qualities and discover if they will be compatible in the long run.
Katherine and Cat are one person but two different personalities, I loved the world view through Cat’s lenses. This is the first I read about a domestic cat shifter, and she was so Kitty like, all princess attitude and still a cat. Napping lazily on the couch or pouting over her bowl of food then running crazy after some moving light. Like my own home fur spoiled girl. So much, she at times lost focus on her human’s self schedule. Why in fact Katherine makes truly her appearance only later in the storyline, and while close to Cat, she is also a separated entity from her feline self, more driven, in a different way, an artist in the soul. Yet they have in common their interest for Troy. They both agree, he is the one for them. Troy is the ideal sweetheart, kind, caring, always ready to oblige. He takes care of others, constantly trying to please them, whatever they are on two or four legs. Why he talks to animals, seing them as equally deserving beings, he does more than nursing them, he respects them.
In all, it is an awesome and moving read of two persons finding their way toward the other despite life’s challenges. 5 stars

I have been granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.
My Recommendation: 9 (I received this book free in exchange for my honest review)
What a sweet, fun fluffy read; this book warmed my heart and all the right places and honestly, I couldn’t put it down once I started reading.
As a parent of three kitties, I enjoyed all the actual domestic cat-like behaviours. Cats have an attitude no matter how much you love them, which makes them so precious. The one thing that kept popping up in my head throughout the book was just this is so precious. Honestly, I did wish I could be Troy‘s cat. I’ve always said I wanted to be reborn as a cat in my next life, and Katerina, you are living my life. Can we switch?
Overall this is a beautiful light read. It has so many cozy feels; there’s a little bit of danger mixed in there to give it some drama. It was well placed and complemented the overall plot. Overall, this book is perfectly balanced, and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series.
This is a kind of standalone series with interconnecting characters. Though I haven’t read the other books, I wasn’t lost in this one, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and now I’m interested in the other characters and their stories.
So please take my super high recommendation in my sample approval that you will fall absolutely in love with this couple and think they are so freaking precious. Happy Reading
She’s done it! I always said if I was going to be a shifter I’d want to be a spoiled housecat. Author Allie McCormack has written a housecat shifter and I knew I had to read it. This was an entertaining tale of love, magic and danger. Troy is a sweetheart and Katerina is awesome as Cat. The villain was really creepy. I think I would have enjoyed this more if I’d read the previous two books but as it stood I really liked this tale. I’m off to purchase the first two books in the series.
A big thank you to NetGalley and the author for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I think this is my first time reading this author. This is part of a series (book 3). I had no idea so this reads great as a stand alone. I found this to be a fun, quirky, cute read. Troy and Cat are very interesting. I loved that Cat was a Maine Coon! This book also has some suspense. Great beach read. 3.5 stars
The premise was cute, and I loved the beginning. But tell me why authors seem to love adding unnecessary filler scenes, just so that we can get cameos of the previous couples in the series? I get it, they're all friends, and some readers love reading about the other couples. But since I didn't read their books, I could care less about their relationships.
This could have been shaved down by at least a third, but since it wasn't, I just got really bored towards the end.
This is truly a delightful read! While parts are intense and full of suspense it is a fun story. I loved the eye rolling feline attitude not to mention the snark about male sanitation. I will have to add this author to my search list as I would like to read more from this author. I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and freely leave this honest review.
Allie McCormack's paranormal romance trilogy ends with a whimper instead of a bang. Books one and two were all about the Djinn and the magic, plus the heartstring tugs of kids and animals and the slow-burn sweetness and heat of complicated romance. Book three is a massive recap punctuated by a Cat-shifter (Maine Coon, yet!) who manages a high-power fashion design career, but can't trust her fellow Shifters to have her back when she's attacked by a Rogue. There's a procedure she should follow, but she manages to convince herself that she can't to the Shifter Council unless she can prove her case. Whatever happened to show the evidence and let the pros take over the investigation? Having worked herself and her Mage/Djinn/aware human cohort of friends into this Catch 22, she hangs out with the vet who saves her from the attack without knowing she's a shifter, thus endangering his life too. He knows everybody in the group, but lacks their awareness of the paranormal - and for some benighted reason they can't seem to enlighten him so that he can at least protect himself. It's bizarrely and needlessly complicated, v-e-r-y slow-paced (I almost quit reading at more than one point), weakly romantic and just plain uninspiring. This is a voluntary ARC review.
I very much enjoyed this paranormal romance which is a clean, slow-build romance with plenty of action. Troy, a veterinarian, brings home an injured Maine Coon cat who quickly becomes a loved member of his household. What he doesn’t know is that the cat is actually a shapeshifter with a human side, Katerina, a world-known fashion designer. Katerina is hiding out at Troy until she recovers from a vicious attacked initiated by an unknown supernatural foe. As alluring as life is at Troy’s, and she really likes the man, she does have a human life to get back to. But will Troy like Katerina as a human woman? And that deadly threat is still out there
Unlike a lot of shifter romances out there, this isn’t fated mates fighting a destined bond, hot sex, alphaness and a focus on babies. This getting to know each other--even if Troy doesn’t know he’s getting to know Katerina some of the time--and chemistry that grows naturally as they spend more time together. It feels like a real romance and the magical steps of falling in love instead of basically starting the story with the completed product as fated mates.
If you like suspense and thrills with your romance, don’t despair. This novel delivers as Katerina tries to discover the identity of her deadly stalker while trying to keep those she cares about safe.
This is the third in a series, while the reader can understand what is going on without reading the others (I did) the storyline of the supernatural threat carries over from the previous books. Plus, a number of characters from the previous novels play large roles in this with continuing developments in their relationships. McCormack has created a magical world of shifters, djinn, and mages that live among us. To fully enjoy, I would recommend reading all the books. I plan to.
One minor annoyance: if you are fighting for your life and you are worried about your sister’s babies, your friend’s children, you don’t wait until your grandmother gets back from a cruise, no matter how long she has looked forward to it, if she is in a position to help you. You reach out to your brother, even though he is on the opposite coast, for help. I just think the author could have come up with a better reason for Katerina to be isolated the way she was.
With that off my chest, I still recommend this book highly. Good characters (McCormack nails the attitude of cats that is portrayed perfectly with Cat), a well-developed romance without being cheesy, thrills, adorable animals and adorable kids. Go read. It really is one of the better paranormal romances I’ve read in a long time.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this ARC in return for an honest opinion.
When I saw the cover of A Cat for Troy, same as with A Gift of Jacinth, I knew this would be a part of the Wishes in a Bottle series. And although you can read the books seperately, I think you will enjoy them even better, if you read them all. This one is about Douglas' colleague Troy. He agrees to take the wounded cat into his care, since Douglas is unable to take care of it. The calico cat, named Cat (by Douglas' children), certainly has a personality and Troy would swear she understands what he says. Katerina is thankful that Jacinth was able to save her from the evil dog attack. But since this wasn't the first attack on her family, she and her shapeshifting sister will need to hide untill she finds out who is after them. Luckily, Kat's sister will be able to hide with Julian and Alessandra (yep, from Wishes in a Bottle). Because Douglas has his hands full with his djin wife Jacinth and his newly returned children (yep, from A Gift of Jacinth), he asks his colleague Troy to look after the cat (and of course not telling Troy that she is not actually a cat, but a shapeshifter). Slowly healing, Kat is finding out that she really enjoys Troy's company. And even his dog is pretty okay - for a dog that is - duh. So, she is reluctant to shift back to human, also because she is still not sure who is after her. But when it appears that the one after her is now also threatening Troy, Katerina needs to come up with a plan. Or lose everyting, including Troy. Will she succeed? Find out for yourself in this wonderful cozy read. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
I've read a lot of shifter books, but this one stands out as truly unique. Katerina/Cat is an impressive young woman, a successful fashion designer, in her human form. In her other form, she's a beautiful calico Maine Coon whose behavior is exactly what we'd expect from a cat - part demanding queen, part lackadaisical feline who just wants to spend the day basking in a sunbeam.
As was hinted at in the earlier two books (with some overlapping scenes shared with A Gift of Jacinth), there's a malevolent force threatening Cat and her family, and this story is as much about ferreting out that threat as it is about the growing affection between Troy and Katerina as well as Troy and his Cat.
I won't spoil the details, but suffice it to say that Troy and Katerina fight hard to get their HEA, making this book a beautiful capstone for the entire three-book set. I enjoyed every page of this wondrous journey, and I highly recommend this book and the entire series for anyone who loves paranormal romance. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Sweet entertaining romantic fantasy story. Part of a series, but the story is easy to follow without having read the previous parts. Kat shifter Cat is attacked by a dog and ends up with a single vet with a dog to recuperate. Cat quickly feels at home with vet Troy, feels attracted to him and hopes that he also likes her in human form. But it's not that easy to explain and things are complicated by the threat of danger, not only for Cat herself, but also for Troy. Fortunately, Cat and Troy have both magical and non-magical ones that can help with the danger. And very nice original storyline. I especially enjoyed reading the first 200 pages, then it gets bogged down in explanations and extensive descriptions. Occasionally the pace picks up again and drops again, making it a bit on the long-winded side for me. For a patient reader. I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving this review
Veterinarian Troy Shelton rescued a lovely calico cat from the shelter. The cat had been injured and was still healing. It didn’t take long at all for Cat to work her way into the hearts of both Troy and his pet collie.
Katerina/Cat is glad for Troy's gentleness while she recovers. She likes the human. Until she heals, she won’t be able to shift to her human form. And as she heals, she isn’t sure she wants to hurry back to her fashion designer life regardless! But Troy may be in danger too since Cat is still being hunted by something supernatural who had caused her current injuries.
The emphasis in this book is not the shifter aspects but is instead a slow burn romance between Katerina and Troy. Once he gets over the shock, will Troy be attracted to Katerina as a human woman? Will they be able to work together against the threat that is hunting her?
A Cat for Troy is a sweet and clean romance novel that tells the story of Troy, a veterinarian, a Maine Coon shapeshifter named Cat, and her human alter ego, Katerine, who is sought out by a rogue werecat. What most caught my attention about this novel is that the protagonist is a Maine Coon, and I have always dreamed of having a cat of that breed (I hope my adorable and loving domestic cats do not find out!), In addition, the plot It is well designed and, although it is preferable to read the books in order, they can be read as stand alone. By mistake, I started reading the third book before realizing that I also have the previous two, so I'm going to chain-read the first two books. That is how interesting the story seemed to me, that I am not going to put those books down until I finish reading them!
Lovely read. I liked this book very much! The chemistry between the two main characters is palpable, even if it’s a chemistry between a man and his cat.... Jealous much? Often I had tears in my eyes ..from laughter.. It’s that Cat has no qualms to get what she wants. Even with eminent danger hanging over her head. A very real danger as shows her “accident . It’s clearly bringing the shifter world into the human world and not otherwise as so often seen in Romance. The reactions are so vividly described it’s fantastic! I did love the style, story, characters and animals so very present in this book and can only say: read and enjoy!

Veterinarian Troy and Katerina meet as she is a wounded housecat (shifter), hurt badly by a rogue were-leopard that stalked her and her sister. He takes her home with him, to heal in peace. She can not change until she is healed but stays even after that. Now she has to meet him in person to see if he will like her in that mode. She also wins over Cherie, his dog, as both sides of herself. The storyline is terrific, with so many wonderful aspects of the shifters and their tight-knit groups. Loved how Troy accepted all the things he was learning and they all accepted him. The ending was great and I agree that she is home now. Well done.

This is book 3 in the Wishes and Dreams series. It can be read as a stand alone as I have not read the first two but they are on my TBR list. Troy is a veterinarian and is asked by a friend to pick up a Maine Coon cat from the local shelter that was attacked by a dog. He's unaware that the cat is a shifter being hunted by a rogue shifter. Cat is happy to be safe with Troy but decides he needs to meet her in her woman form. The story is a good one with several unusual characters. Looking forward to reading all in the series. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Quick little read. The writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story, I found myself in love with not only the characters but also the world that was created.
The descriptions of the characters and their feelings are so involved, you can truly picture it in your mind. Their attitudes toward the events that are happening make the story even richer.
This is a must read if you love cats! And doubly so if you love shifters. This is a clean paranormal romance....which is about as hard to find as a dragon shifter. The characters are wonderful, the plot engaging, it’s a page turner for sure. There’s a lot of suspense and a plot twist or two. It is easily read as a stand alone book, but characters carry over from the first two books in the series and you get to enjoy them again. Seriously, this is a really, really great book.
Important to go in with expectations understood. This is NOT a spicy romance, the story is about as spicy as a Doris Day movie: it's not. It had all the old time feel good romantic cute, and that's good enough to bob along on. For me the story dragged a bit, author getting right into explaining the whys and wherefores of the magical world construction. I enjoyed the story line of a cat sheltering wth a human. the denouement was well executed.
Once again, Allie McCormack has given us another great story that has been updated. I think this one is my favorite of the series so far. The characters are well written and endearing while the story line is engaging and entertaining.

I am loving this series, so much fun. Kat an injured and in need of shelter cat shifter is taken home by a Vet. The author has written a wonderful character in Katarina the shifter with cat attitude, living in secret, bossing the dog, turning her nose up at cat food. Using the shower and stealing food. It is a fun clean adventure with some mystery and a healthy dose of attitude. Highly recommended.

A slow but entertaining book about a shifter romance . Kat is a cat shifter she is injured when she is found by Troy in her cat form and can revert to human form until she has healed. A bit different but enjoyable read. It has action and romance and challenges . Note this is the third book in a series although I haven’t previously read any 3.5/5
A cute, clean story that kept me on my toes with tension and a steady flow of information that made the story interesting and not overwhelming. The pacing was fantastic and the characters endearing. I really liked how the duality of having two characters in one was handled.
I think I’m going to by myself a paperback copy of this book, despite the cheesy cover ;)
This whimsical take will take on an adventure you never expected. I love this book and characters! The author truly gives this harrowing moments that you can't forget if you tried. I will definitely read this author in the future. Until next time Happy Reading!
The pacing is disjointed, you absolutely must have read the previous books also, and the heroine acts like an idiot so that the book can achieve the necessary length. The biggest redeeming virtue is that everyone calls the heroine on her stupidity and she does seem to learn from it.
Thank you to Allie for gifting me a copy of this wonderful book. It was a pleasure to read. I lost myself in the characters and the storyline. The only bad thing was when it had to end. I'll be reading more from this author.
Great love story for Troy and Cat. The suspense, mystery, discovery is fantastic. I loved how the Others/Djinn all interact get along great w/their humans! Love this series!!!
