Ugh, not a 4 stars story anymore. Will definitey give it 3,5 stars, though. At this point, I'm just reading it for the male characters, pretty dresses and the hair.
This webtoon is reallllly slow, like 'it's trying to kill you with slowness' slow but I really like it. I like how non dramatic it is, how it's centered around their relationship as father and daughter compare to other father and daughter mangas I've read. But I gotta say; Sometimes I'm like damn ... Caitel really fine as hell and then I'm like... But he's also a serial killer hahahaha.
We've only had 3 chapters in S4 so far but I'm already loving it! The art is improving and the story is going to get even better because we're getting really close to a time skip (spoiled myself a bit), she's going to be 18 soon and I fucking can't wait for it.
My baby is all grown up. Oh how bad I feel for you, Caitel is such a dad, he's probably going to be even more insanely overprotective when it comes your love interests Ria (?? ????)
1. UGH. This is the WORST. I KNEW this story would devolve into yet another cliched love polygon. With Ria somehow being less mature and more flustered than the babies around her, just because the babies happen to be men. Woman you are a person from modern-day Korea who has lived two lifetimes. Being a flustered shy mess is NEVER cute but it's doubly not cute with all of your experience behind you.
2. And to top that off we get random FOUR YEAR time skips out of nowhere? Two of them? Preceded by flashbacks to a period already covered in the first couple of volumes? It felt a lot like the author decided Ria was now too old for cute kid stuff but wanted to squeeze some in anyway. With an added dose of POINTLESS ASISI WORSHIP because we have clearly not had enough oft hat already.
3. And of course, all of Ria's childhood companions grow up and become handsome young men. I guess I was at least glad about them still being bullied by her but it's not enough, dammit. (Val is my favourite bc he's a little shit.) And the love interest (who was a flustered feral kid in the last volume where we aw him) is now a suave and domineering alpha male warrior king with blood on his hands and UGH SPARE ME ALREADY.
4. When I read the jealousy scenes made me laugh for a variety of reasons. However, the "must lock my daughter up to protect her from men" thing? Yeah, doesn't really do it for me. I know you are a product of how you're written Caitel and I miss having you around because you are still my favorite but this made me roll my eyes so hard.
5. Ria, aged 18, in charge of the non-insignificant parts of a fucking empire: Daddy threatened to lock me up so I'm going to run away from home. Sierra, adopted mother: Oh princess, you are so precocious. Me: LOL NOPE. I'M OUT.
Asisi is another interesting character and we learn more about how Caitel is related to their closest friends. Asisi seems to be a very deep character on his own with some rather deep emotional damage on top of the physical scars he carries. In her determination to meet this black knight, Ria has managed to become somehow more important to him than expected, to the point he outright asks Caitel to let him go against his vows to his emperor's and vow to be the princesses' personal knight, though of course he'll always follow his lord's commands. Despite his hesitance to let anyone too close and protecting Ria from a distance, he proves his worth rather quickly when unknown assailants kidnap her off the road. Not too surprisingly, Ria just wants to be near her knight in the aftermath as the one who saved her, which is probably the safest place for her at least until her father arrives, and it's unlikely he's too far behind once news reaches him. Now the question may be just how overprotective all of these men will be of their dear princess.

What interesting development. Even though Ria is mentally a 27 yo woman from Japan, her body matures from adolescence into adulthood. Her mind seems to go back to her youthful developmental age of 14 to 18. She's forgetting that her face and charm is winning hearts and she struggles with boys fighting for her affection.
Her education consists of her father's regime and modern society. She longs to leave her country and with the help of friends, she travels outside her father's land for the first time.
Ah I remember now why I never finished this one ¨C as soon as the romance got introduced I dipped. I never felt like Ria had chemistry with the ML. I preferred the second dude. +younger!Ria chapters were just so much better
As always, love this story. Like how we are getting to see all of the new/different relationships of the main character, not just with her father (though I do love the moments that they have together). Love how it can put me in a good mood and get me out of a reading slump. Can¡¯t wait for the next volume!
Ariadna continues to chase Asisi who is stubbornly avoiding her because reasons. But eventually she manages to catch him and break through enough of his walls that he asks to be her Guardian Knight. And Caitel agrees!
This does sound exciting... until you see the story from Asisi's perspective and he's... basically stalking a three year old child. And now he's legally stalking her and I'm getting more and more concerned because Dranste also keeps hinting at Ariadna marrying him... And I'm worried that this is leading up to some very not okay situations involving this ACTUAL CHILD!
Aku menghela napas lega cukup panjang ketika membaca chapter di mana Ariadna tumbuh menjadi gadis remaja yang cantik. Akhirnya Ariadna bukan lagi gadis kecil.
It's just beautiful and charming to see how a little girl can bring out the best warmest parts in a human's heart. It's even funnier when the humans in particular are so tortured their villainous.
I think my favorite interaction is when her father is teasing her. It's so natural and realistic that it is charming. Her daddy calls her a bug, or tells her that she's ugly and that's why people are crying. Those kind of teasings are just too funny. If she didn't have an adult personality stuck in a child's body, they might actually be a little more hurtful but as an older person in a younger body she takes it in swing. That natural teasing it's just too cute!
Ria chasing around Asisi is absolutely adorable. All of these character interactions feel so real, but we got to see some real threats to Ria this time. It¡¯s for the best that Asisi is keeping her safe now. The next volume is going to be intense.
