1. The thing is, I'm a huge fan of the "immoral parent redeems self due to love of child" trope. You know those few tropes you will consume regardless of whatever form it comes in? This is one of mine, and I liked it enough to get through two volumes of largely plotless fluff, but we're in Volume 3 now and I'm starting to run out of patience.
2. So okay there is technically plot-stuff happening in here, but it feels a lot like a few hooks are baited and then left dangling in favor of more fluff and impending romance setup. Which is not ideal. Dranste has a backstory revealed but it doesn't seem to do anything to actually affect the plot. Caitel is my trash fave and he also gets backstory expansion but it's placed in a very weird part of the story and also seems to very little to do with the current and future narrative. Ria continues to sigh over Asisi a lot and think about him a lot and I want to scream because he is the most boring character in this entire story. Plus, that one set of panels where Perdel teaches Monarchy Apologia/Justification 101 made me roll my eyes SO HARD.
3. The future love interests appear, which again- does not bode well and makes me suspect this story is soon going to devolve into yet another beautiful woman courted by multiple men plotline. Judging from the way Asisi is put on a pedestal, I'm gonna guess the white-haired kid is going to end up being Ria's husband, and I am so bored by the idea already and I barely even know these kids.
4. Sigh. It's really sad when stories use up the goodwill you've poured into them in a flurry of nonsensical, status-quo preserving scenes with no point except to rhapsodize over characters the author feels deserves praise. For some reason.
5. The MOST BORING CHARACTER in the entire cast I s2g.
More father/daughter dynamics and loyal knights ¨R?¨Q I'm glad everyone's in agreement that Asisi is the prettiest (or Caitel's words "prettier than most woman"). Anyways I love Ria and Caitel's relationship, especially right now with how teasing they both are, and just the fact that Caitel won't admit that he loves his daughter even though it's so obvious. I hope we'll get more chapters from his POV in the future because there always interesting to read. My only gripe is that the story can get dragged out a bit at times, which is why it took me over a week to catch up, but it's not that big of a problem.
Ria and Caitel have such a unique father-daughter relationship, but you can clearly tell that they care deeply for each other. It¡¯s also nice to see the evolving relationship between Ria and Cito. And I get the feeling that Asisi might actually be Ria¡¯s uncle, but I guess I¡¯ll have to wait until the next volume to see if I¡¯m right.
** spoiler alert ** (Since this is a webtoon series, I'm just going to include my reviews for the series from the beginning up until now)
3.5 - definitely funnier than the last season but why is she crushing so hard on a 11 year old when she's in her 20s?!?!
Pretty art style, cool premise but the main character's personality changes a little too much? - like she's supposed to be in her 20s but reads more like a pre-teen/teen, there were some missed opportunities in terms of exploring human nature (like someone from our world is transported to a country with a monarchy and your father is a literal tyrant? Lots to explore but barely any of it is...)
Spoilers: I do hope the readers of the story know that the emperor is in no way redeemable right? Like homeboy is a legit tyrant who ordered the deaths of many literal children, including his own, because he didn't have the time or patience for them. But this story feels like it's meant to have a redemption arc when he does not deserve it and does not have it. Especially when he shows little to no remorse for the death and pain he has caused.
but if you want something a little more light-hearted, with fluffy moments - then this is the webtoon for you

plot: as the time goes by, the princess and her father were turning close to each other. but when her father was needed at the battlefield, he had to leave her. days passed, months passed. and soon he was back but with a mystery knight ¡ª the black knight. the knight always ignored her, and this was her mission. mission to befriend Assisi.
OMG, leave caitel I want Assisi, gosh he is so cute *hearts hearts hearts*
Read this if you love: |? intriguing plot |? funny cheesy dialogues |? overprotective father |? dynamic relationship between father-daughter
Caitel goes away for war which makes it clearer to everyone that they really are parent and child with how they miss each other and his welcome home. Ria may be a bit cruel when she makes her caretakers think she's forgotten her father briefly, but Pardel is even worse when he plays on Caitel's fears with the voice crystals. If anything, he's probably very lucky Caitel didn't follow through and come home right away just to chase him around with his sword and use him as a punching bag for scaring him like that. This black knight seems to be a new mystery as well, but he also seems somehow kind in a lot of ways. Now if only Dranste would stop pushing this marriage agenda he's gotten hooked on, and just what is his tie to Caitel's sword that it won't hurt him?

Her papa loves her. The kingdom loves her. There are riots in the kingdom and assassination attempts on her life. She in growing older, now 8 years old. Understanding the nature of the warring kingdoms and no longer in the safety bubble of an infant.
If you¡¯re reading this in hopes that it gets better, give it up. The paperbacks are gorgeous. I read it just to see if it was worth buying. It is not. Whiny princess, puddle deep characters, expressionless art.
I don?t want it to be over... but at the same time it?s currently consuming my life so I need it to be over T.T
I?m glad there are chapters from Caitel POV (I love him and that?s the hill I?m willing to die in), sometimes Ria?s POV gets repetitive ... but overall I really like all characters.
PS. The clothes of Ari and the Emperor are so amazing! Seriously, this manhwa is porn costume.
