Prize is the second book in the Omega Prey series and runs in parallel to Prey. It finishes on an HFN. There are more adventures for Priya in book 3, Taken.
I am prey.
An Omega prey that our dreaded enemy, the Blighten, search for.
I am a prize
One that noble lords vie for.
I don't want to become a lord's prize anymore than I want to become the Blighten's prey.
One would be a swift death.
And one would be slow.
That I must marry soon is not a decision for today, though, but a decision for tomorrow.
Only tomorrow's choices never come.
For tonight brings outlaws who remind me that I am prey.
Publisher's note: If you’re looking for a super SWEET omega verse with enthusiastic consent before action, this is NOT the book for you. Prize is a FANTASY (not even vaguely close to the real world) book on the medium-dark scale of omega verse with LOTS of domestic discipline (think hands and belts) and consent driven by the heroine/hero response to pheromones. Trust that our heroine is a sweet and stubborn brat, and if she gets into a tussle with her mates, it’s so she can test they’re worthy. Our heroes embrace their role in claiming and protecting their mate seriously and adore their sweet charge.
In a secret garden hidden behind a wall of shrubs and trees amid a tiny English village, you'll find L.V. Lane's writing den, where she crafts spicy adventures...Magical and mythical creatures, wolf shifters, and alphas of every flavor give our sweet, sometimes willful omegas and heroines a guaranteed HEA. If you like my books, you might also like my contemporary pen name, Verity Arden!

Priya (and Hawthorne, and Caden, and Brook) is quite the prize! I know I say this every time this author releases a book, but this one *really* is my favorite. Ethan and Ryker, you've been displaced as my favorite Alphas! Hawthorne, Caden, and Brook win hands-down. Hawthorne is the perfect soldier, and I loved the support and solace the other three gave him. My heart broke and ached for Caden and Brook, and because I know a little secret, I CAN'T WAIT for more of their story. Priya came across as bratty, entitled, and slightly unlikeable in Prey, but Prize totally changed my mind about her. My heart broke for her, too, and I LOVED the way the author showed the difference between her relationship with her father (who was not a nice man) and her fathers' relationships with Bram and his other children. I loved seeing the events of Prey from another perspective, particularly the excitement of the "perfect Omega" coming to the castle, when Belle is such a perfectly imperfect Omega. So highly recommended!
Having read Prey, I was looking forward to this one, and it didn't disappoint. It runs parallel to Prey, and gives us a good idea of what's going on in the Eldest brothers home before the arrival of his kin and their newly-bonded mate. In this book, we learn about the sister Priya, and the challenges she's faced growing up. Having not revealed as any dynamic of yet, things haven't been all sunshine and roses for her despite what people think. Watching her grow up, watching her interact with her family and the men tasked with protecting her was a fun, sometimes sweet, relatable, and then wildly sexy journey. A nice addition to this still-budding series.
This one kept me up til 4am. I could not put it down!!
I only recently discovered this author and have been binge reading all her stories. This one is up there as a favourite. Reverse Harem Fantasy with plenty of actual storyline.
Priya is the perfect spoiled little sister. I loved her brattiness. Her independence and her refusal to bow to everyone’s wishes. Talk about an opportunity for some discipline. Seriously HOT discipline. Hawthorn, Brook and Caden = seriously hot interactions. I loved how each alpha brought something different to the story.
This one had fantastic characters. A delicious slow burn feel and a HFN Ending that left me wanting more of these characters. Definitely recommend.
I was so hoping for a good book. A second in a series. What I got was large flashbacks/prequel stuff. And I like the omega needs punished trope as much as the next girl but what has happened in this book is not maintenance discipline. The story is set up so every vindictive person in the castle can run to the Hs and the h will get beat. Then she didn’t even finish the book. Between all the flashbacks or preface stuff and spankings there wasn’t much room for her to finish the book. I won’t be following up because of this issue.
'Prize' is the 2nd book in the 'Omega Prey' series by the amazing ( being the first one). In this book, we follow Priya, the sister of our dear Alphas in book 1.
In most of the book, we are behind the scenes of what is going on with Priya, Hawthorn, Caden and Brook. We met all of them briefly in the first book, but mostly at the very end.
Priya is an interesting character, she's quite bratty even as an adult, she's quite young at the beginning of the book, and we get a small window where we are introduced to her, as well as being able to establish a sort of first-impression with her. I found the Author to be quite good at really making me actually see Priya's young age (she's 13 in the beginning) - compared to her older adult age of 18. This is something that's always good to experience as a reader, her bratty ness, her high handedness, her fierce independence etc is all quite clear, and as a mother, I did recognize a lot haha.
We then move on to the present time and I fell in love with her Alphas. How could I not? L.V. Lane is a very skilled writer and I am finding myself not able to put the book down. From the fierceness of the battle scenes. to the erotic bedroom scenes, to the small fun parts that make you smile and giggle. It's an art form at it's truest and just as I loved the world-building in Prey, it continues in Prize.
The book does have a bit of a soft cliffhanger and we do have a 4th Alpha.... he's not there yet - but the build-up to his story and the continuation of this story is very well set. I know there will be a "Prize book 2" and I am already frothing at the mouth for its release!
This book series has a medieval feel to it that I really love, I said as such in my Prey review, and I feel we get an even greater feel for it in Prize. The Alphas are big, strong, battle-hardened and fierce - and unlike some Omegaverse, though there is spanking and punishments for our dear Omega, I didn't find anything to be non-con. There is ofc a bit of Dub-con involved, this is Omegaverse after all and this world is not at all to be mistaken for normal "humans", because they aren't. :D The society is very different, but this is not a dark romance, not at all. I find this series to be more on the fluffy side, but with very good action scenes, extremely hot steamy sex with copious of fluids and knots. ;)
Another great fantasy omegaverse in Ms. Lane's series. I'll admit I wasn't too sure about Priya in the first book, but I'm in love with her men! Looking forward to seeing what happens next!
If you have read Prey, you already meet Priya, Hawthorne, Caden and Brook.
Priya is the little sister. The brat who everyone in the castle is just love to hate. But she's misunderstood. Her brothers are all too busy with their live to see. Her mother is just too much of a lady of the Manor to see more than Priya lack lady like behaviour.
No one see her fear of the unknown of the dynmic since she has not awaken to be omega yet. No one really see the little girl who have to lose her father, the only man she sees loving her more than anything.
Until firm hands of the alphas.
Hawthorne the older and the first Alpha who take control with discipline yet tender purr. Caden the second Alpha who is silent and look so in control while inside he's brewing of need to claim and be claim by his omega. For his love is strong and he would do anything to protect what his. Brook the third Alpha who is more playfull and dirty but no less fierce when it come to his omega.
But as the Prize wanted by so many, an omega like Priya is bound to welcome enemies attacking the castle threaten. While another issue reveal. What happened when an Omega scent doesn't change even after being bond?
From the first book of Ms. Lane, I love her omegaverse world. Her h/h have their own mark for me. Strong, bratty, sassy girl hiding her vulnerability. Just waiting for her Alpha to discovered it. Her Alpha are mouth-watering lol if not making your blood boiled with their strong handed way yet their purr just weaken your knee. And that's why I don't need to read anymore blurb from this author upcoming books. I just jump in and enjoy her story telling. So if you like me, watch out for the cliffy in Priya and enjoy the adventure!
The writing and editing was fairly clean in the ARC version of the manuscript, with only occasional typos. The world building was competent. The characterization was well done, with the heroine and heroes being complex individuals with strengths and weaknesses. The development of the romantic relationship was was very hot. Five chili peppers. The plot and pacing were tight and exciting, meaning I read this novel in one sitting. There was little angst and very high stakes in this novel, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Brat trope common to BDSM romance. The world building, plot, and pacing were all four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship was also four stars. The fact that this story is not a complete romance is two stars. It ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. I far prefer my romances to end with a Happy Ever After ending instead. I recommend this novel to fans of BDSM and m/f omegaverse romances. I look forward to reading the next book in this series, even though this one ended on a bit of a cliffhanger and that usually turns me off a series entirely. I plan to buy the omnibus of the complete romance if the author releases it in that format.

We learned in Prey that Priya is a brat in need of some strict lessons and she has finally reached her Alpha brother Bram's limits with her. As he's waiting for his Omega to arrive, he hands over the responsibility of disciplining Priya over to his Alpha commander in charge, Hawthorn and his second and third Alphas, Caden and Brook. The three men are more than capable to take over Priya's lessons and discipline and temper the lessons with their purrs and sexual stimulation after each spanking, cropping or paddling. Hawthorn has decided that Priya needed to be spanked or disciplined every day no matter whether she was good or bad, but she is always bratty so she deserves all she gets. Being a Betathat hasnever revealed as an Omega yet, Priya is disturbed over her lack of classification so acts out but the nen in charge are teaching her otherwise. Although Hawthorn is gone quite a bit of the time, Caden and Brook take over Priya's discipline quite handily lol. I enjoyed the antics of the 4 of them, worried over the mischief Priya gets into and danger that is ever present with the Blighten threats. I didn't like the way it ended exactly, but am content to know there is more to come. Priya hasn't nested yet, so we know there is more to come from their Alphas and Omega situation.
I have enjoyed all of Ms. Lane's omegaverse books, and this was no exception. We were introduced to the spoiled and naughty Priya along with her men in the previous book Prey, and I loved the continuation of their story. Priya is a brat and her character keeps everyone on their toes wondering what trouble she will get into next. Under the careful watch and discipline of Hawthorn , Caden, and Brook the heat builds, and so does the relationships between the main characters. She has not yet revealed as an omega, but there is already a pull between her and her 3 alphas. This story keeps you reading to learn how she ends up with her 3 hot men instead of as a "prize" to a boring high born lord. The world building continues, a new character is introduced, and we are left wondering what will come next. This book is a totally enjoyable read, I highly recommend it.
This is one highly entertaining story with lots of very sexy panty melting moments that will keep you captivated and begging for more.
Priya is one very stubborn brat who definitely needs discipline and boy does she get it with Hawthorn and the boys. I enjoyed her feistiness and all her bratty ways. She had me giggling with her attempts to get away when we all know she would never get away with it with her alphas watching her every move. It made for a highly enjoyable read.
The characters are all fantastic, even including the new characters to the series.
The plot line is thickening and I can’t wait for the next story in this series.
Prize by L.V. Lane. This is book 2 in the omega prey series. I am prey. An Omega prey that our dreaded enemy, the Blighten, search for. I am a prize One that noble lords vie for. I really enjoyed this book. Great story and characters although I didn't like Vivien. I'm looking forward to the next book. 4*.
Another well written omegaverse from LV Lane. This book follows Prey but can be read as a standalone. Priya is our bratty female MC. Given Bram's preoccupation with the coming of Silas (storyline from Prey), the discipline of Priya is given to the head of the Palace guard. Together with his second and third, they form a powerful force of Alphas that our Priya finds hard to resist. This book is more of a slow burn then Prey and it takes time for Priya to come into her own. The book is left somewhat unfinished and I suspect this will become a duet. However, the book is a satisfying 4 stars to read by itself even given the somewhat HFN ending.
This is the second book in the Omega Prey series, but can be read as a standalone. It is fast-paced with one bratty omega and three sexy alphas. Intense chemistry, lots of steam and loads of twists and turns. Looking forward to the third book in the trilogy.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
While I liked the first book in this series, I absolutely loved this one. Priya is a wonderful character. Flawed, impetuous, real and even delightful at times, she is always true to her nature. She gets a true match in her mates and I was thrilled at how the story unfolded. This is top notch omegaverse/reverse harem.
I did enjoy this book, but I felt like book one was better. I am invested in seeing how this huge series goes. I'll be reading the rest of them in between new releases I have coming up. Actually I'm not sure how many of these are ready to be read yet.
L.V. Lane writes books with heart. I love having a mischievous omega who doesn't just roll over. The alphas aren't cruel but firm and the story draws you in. Hated the cliff hanger but I know the next book will make it all worth it.
Books 1 & 2 have different MCs, but parallel stories. This ends on a HFN that will conclude in book 3.
MCs: Priya - younger sister of the MMCs in book 1. Hawthorn - Captain of the Guard. First Alpha in the poly relationship. Oldest of the group. Caden - Hawthorn's second (in guard duties). Second in the poly relationship. Second oldest. Brooke - Hawthorn's third. Third in the poly relationship. Caden's younger brother. Raegan - A half-breed wolf shifter. He currently has a separate plot thread, and will join the poly relationship in book 3.
Plot: Priya is a spoiled brat whose father (now deceased) gave her anything she desired. Her older brother Bram, tired of her disrespectful ways, gives her to Hawthorn for disciplining and training. Hawthorn, along with his closest friends, Caden and Brooke, take over the care of Priya. Eventually, they become bonded mates.
We learn that the bond between them was started years ago, when Priya, Caden and Brooke were kids. Priya as an Omega has precognition as all Omegas do. Caden and his family had gone to the Wittner estate, in need of shelter and work. When her father had asked Priya, "What should we do?" She answered, "They must stay."
Caden later said, "Priya gave us our lives, and I vowed that I would give her mine in return." 🤗
THE GOOD:
The Humor. Priya's suitor is repeatedly made fun of: 🐑 I don’t care where a man gets his fancies, but I draw the line at sheep. 🐑 He’s charming and passing handsome, and if he did not have a fixation with livestock, I might consider him a tolerable choice. 🐑 “Over. My. Dead. Body. Are you going riding—or anywhere alone—with lord sheep. 🐑 “We have enough troubles dealing with lord sheep-lover after last night.
The Characters. While indistinct, they were all likable. The Alphas are strong, very protective and possessive. Priya may have been spoiled, but at heart she was a sweet person.
The Action. There are a few good fight scenes with the Blighten (orcs), who are the empire's biggest enemy. They're stealing land, killing the innocent, and also trying to steal an Omega for their precog talent.
The Romance. For the most part, the well written, steamy sex scenes were enjoyable to read,. The frequent discipline, always leads to pleasure for all.
Raegan. Once again, the wolf-shifter is my favorite MMC (like book 1). These guys are the lovable rogues with wit and humor.
THE BAD:
🔻 The Final Sex Scene. When Priya awakened as an omega, there was too much wetness. Priya had lots of slick and the men had lots of cum. I skimmed that scene to get through it faster.
🔻The Spanking / Whipping. There were too many discipline scenes for my taste. I don't mind some, but it felt like half the book, which is more than in book 1. I'm hoping that since Priya is less bratty and the MCs have a loving bond, there will be less discipline in book 3.
Corporal punishment is part of this world, with even the men being whipped as a punishment. They get no aftercare, though, which is a bummer for them. 😢
When the girl becomes a woman, the Omega is finally revealed.
Priya is the highborn sister of Alpha Lords. She is yet to reveal as an Omega and has convinced herself she is a broken Beta and will become the Prize for some lowly Beta Lord that her brother Bram, first born Alpha son and lord of their family since her father passed, allocates to her.
Hawthorne is the Head of the castle guard and as such, the first Alpha among them. His Second and Third are young Alpha brothers Caden and Brook who have been at the castle and under Hawthorne’s tutelage since they we nine and ten years old. Caden is the elder of the two brothers and together they have watched over Priya since their arrival.
Priya has always been a mischief maker and required constant discipline from her Alpha brother Bram, but he really has no stomach for it and hands her care over to Hawthorne as his trusted guard and friend. Hawthorne and his Second and Third guards take on the responsibility of caring for Priya and curbing her waywardness. Not an easy task and definitely one that tests the Alphas to their absolute limits.
With the arrival home of Priya’s Alpha brothers with their new Omega mate, Belle, the castle is focused on the new arrivals when an unexpected attack sees mayhem befall the hapless Priya as she finally reveals as the Omega Prize that she is.
This story is not the direct continuation of the first book in this series Prey, however it does have a few crossover sections. I strongly recommend you read book one first. The character building and plotline are well developed and delivered in this story and we get another look at the evil Blighten enemy (Orcs) and a brief glimpse at another wolf shifter, Raglan whose loyalties are yet to be determined.
Heat level in this instalment is a little slower to build but not less scorching once it hits it peak in this book. We are treated to some very steamy build up as foreplay in the form of discipline and comforting crashes through the pages relentlessly before gripping us in its firm hands and tossing us over a cliff of delightfully sinful sensation once we reach the crescendo. This author knows how to write a sex scene that will leave you gasping for air much as our Omega does when fulfilment is attained. Warnings for steamy sex scenes, power exchange and spankings. Some blood and gore added to make this an 18+ read. I gave it five stars.
At least I have more insight on the female heroine here compared to the first book but what is this obsession of portraying this Omega women like a child. I've read some Omegaverse books but this, I think, is the first that shows them like an errant child that needs constant discipline and them demanding like a children their wants, e.g. "I WANT CADEN!" Yes exactly like that. I didn't talk about this cos I thought it was just Belle from the the first book but nope, its also Priya- the spoiled Omega princess.
Who thought we needed a second book of their story? Who said that was a good idea?
Tell me it's gonna get better because the more I read into the series, the more it gets downhill.
It was hard to turn off the feminism for this one. This book didn’t even pretend to introduce the concept of consent. Not to mention the questionable age gaps - while current ages are unspecified, all three of the male characters were adult men hired as household guards before the FMC was 13. The whole book is these men punishing (whipping, caning, and then sexually abusing) the weeping girl for such crimes as “asked brother question, “asked permission to ride her own horse, and my favorite, “gave someone tea with too much honey.
I’m seeing other reviews call the FMC annoying? She’s a child with no friends in a household of people that seem to hate her, being groomed and abused by multiple guards. The VERY LEAST the author could have given this girl was a safe word.
Prize is Priya's story. She is the bratty sister given over to Hawthorne for much needed discipline. I enjoyed this book as much if not more than I did Prey. Priya is such a refreshing heroine. She is quite spirited, but there’s a lost and vulnerable girl hiding behind her bratty attitude. I loved the alphas, especially Caden. He remained a bit of a mystery for most of the book, but his bond with Priya seemed really special. As you would expect from an omegaverse story, this book is scorching hot and full of punishment as well as pleasure. It end in a HFN and I can't wait to see what happens next!
This is the second book in this Omegaverse series and it can be read as a stand-alone. Priya is an omega and doesn’t want to become a prize for someone. How because she is an omega there are slow enemies that want her as well. Which will she become, a prize or prey? Fast-paced read with one omega and three sexy alphas. Intense chemistry, lots of steam and loads of twists and turns. I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it.
I always love reading books by LVL. The world-building along set in the Omegaverse trope checks my boxes. I've really been enjoying this new world and was glad that the author choose to continue to write more about it. It's so intriguing. Each book gives the reader a little more of a glimpse into the bigger world and who the Blighten are.
The reader gets to following the of Priya in this story. She was mentioned in "Prey" (Belle's story) briefly as the younger sister to the Alphas who had a late awakening to being an Omega. She is bratty and mischievous, arrogant and sometimes spiteful; but underneath it all she is a lonely girl who feels everyone hates her and thinks of her as a nuisance. She believes that she is a 'broken Beta', unable to have children, worthless. Her Alpha guards know better. They have seen the small little signs that intimate l indicate that she will be an Omega, it's just a matter of time. They are willing to wait, but they will not wait to fix her bratty behavior. She may not like the discipline that she will have to receive, as she thinks it is beneath her; but these Alphas are determined to show her in bother action and deed that she is theirs to protect and correct. She just didn't know it yet.
It's another great follow-up book with a Cliffie that has you wondering if there is another mate in the future?!?
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
If you are a lover of Omegaverse, than this book is one that shouldn't be missed. Really, you will love all of LVL's books, but this one is probably my favorite, so far. Part of that is because of Priya. Her insecurities and the way she acts out because of them really connected with me. She is so unsure and worried about her place in the world, that she doesn't really think about her own safety or whether or not she matters to those around her. Her Alphas, or at least the Alphas her brother hands her off to for protection, don't let her get away with any of her crazy antics, though. They are going to keep her safe, and show her how important she is, whether she likes it or not.
The ending of this one is a bit of a cliffhanger, and not the happy kind, but it does give some ideas as to where the story is going to go. There are a lot of sexy scenes in this one, and they are completely inline with what is expected from an OV read. It's dark and dirty in the best possible way, and I'm totally here for it.
I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. I enjoyed the first book in the Omega Prey series and really looked forward to book two. It did not disappoint in any way. This story is about Priya, Hawthorne, Caden and Brook. She is the young, bratty, big hearted little sister. The alphas are perfect for curbing her attitude. I could not decide who I liked best, but Hawthorne might be in the lead. If omegas and alphas are your type of genre, you do not want to pass up this series. This book has a little mystery, drama, discipline, lust and love. These three will have a few obstacles to get thru to get their happy future. I thought the storyline was well written and pulled you in. Priya, Hawthorne, Caden and Brook all proved to be great characters. I am really looking forward to what L.V. Lane gives us next
