He’s a playboy rock star living the rock and roll dream... Until a very real baby scare threatens to bring it all crashing down.
Dash Kingston has learned his lesson and knows his hard-partying lifestyle needs to change. To clean up his playboy image, he needs a fake girlfriend.
There’s just one problem: the perfect woman for the job is a gorgeous blonde who once aroused not just his body but his emotions, sending him running. And leaving her to wake up alone.
For the band’s sake, Cassidy Forrester agrees to play the girlfriend role, but she’s not going to fall for Dash’s charm or sex appeal ever again.
Except this Dash Kingston swears he’s a changed man, and he’s out to win Cassidy over - for good. But only a fool would make the same mistake twice, and Cassidy refuses to let their spark burn her a second time.

5 Star Review Just One Spark (The Kingston Family #4) by Carly Phillips
Just One Spark is a second chance at love story and is about Dash Kingston and Cassidy Forrester. It was an entertaining read that ticked all the boxes for me. After a pregnancy scare, rock star Dash knows he needs a fake girlfriend to help clean up his image. Even worse he knows the woman to help him has to be Cassidy, the woman he left behind and ran from.
However the chemistry and attraction between them is too intense to ignore, what will happen when lines are crossed and the flames ignite once again. I fell hard and fast for Dash, there is so much more to the bad boy rocker than meets the eye. Can he convince Cassidy that he has changed and prove to her that he is worth taking another chance?
I loved this story, from the first to the last chapter. The writing was strong, the story fast paced, the characters engaging and easy to relate too. As secrets are revealed will it tear Dash and Cassidy apart once and for all? One click and find out.
It feels like the heroine is too invest and too easy in the relationship with the hero rather than the hero himself😂 She didn't give him a hard time when he left her after having one night stand with her, she was disappointed but after seeing the hero couple of times after that and hearing him saying sorry just like one time, she forgive him and she lets him do whatever he wants with her. Including having a fake relationship at first but then a true relationship because both said they really do want to give this a try and the hero said he was serious with the heroine and not playing around anymore. He said he was scared at first when they do it the one night stand so that's why he left her the next morning because the heroine really made him feel things for a woman for the first time, true loving feelings.... I was loving their relationship but after I saw and realize that the heroine is way too invest in the relationship and not the hero or equally, I don't love it anymore.
It's so annoying to see the heroine have many insecurities flying around her thoughts so yes you read that from time to time and it's freaking exhausting. At first she always worries about her fake relationship with the hero, she worries if the hero will treat her bad or cheat on her or go to someone better. Like hello... You're both in a fake relationship, it's fcking fake. She also agreed to have s3x with the hero in their fake relationship, she was the one who came up with the idea. Like seriously clingy too much?!! 🤢
The heroine even feel so down and sad when she found out that her ex boyfriend got ENGAGED in instagram, she felt insecure again thinking if he was cheating on her with that new fiance of his. When she was in a real relationship with the hero. Seriously?! So damn annoying.
From time to time the hero always think about his past with groupies and woman and how he slept with a lot of woman, it's freakin annoying af. He thinks those things are useless and stupid of him to do it. But why even think about it again and again though😂😂😂
The hero and heroine chemistry is okay though. I love that the hero always calms down when the heroine is around and wants the heroine close to him as always even when he have to do a public appearance with his band or just himself. He is protective to the heroine. BOTH ARE CELIBATE after they spend that one night stand together, the hero only wants the heroine. The hero is obsessed with the heroine but I think both are obsessed with each other 😂
This book is not my fave though so I don't feel enough energy to write a long ‼️‼️‼️ like i used to. Just gonna write a short one.
‼️‼️‼️ POSSESSIVE HERO BUT NOT OVER THE TOP, NOT MANY JEALOUS SCENES FROM BOTH, NO CHEATING AND NO SEPARATION AFTER BOTH IN A OFFICIAL RELATIONSHIP, NO VIRGINS, NO DRAMA WITH OW AND OM, NO GROUPIES COMING AROUND OR SHOWING UP, SAFE, LOCATION NEW YORK CITY, THE HERO IS 28 years old and i forgot how old the heroine is, HAPPY ENDING MARRIED AND HAVE A SON.
‼️‼️‼️TRIGGER: Drugs, death and violence.
👉🏽👉🏽👉🏽Thank you so much for reading my review❤️❤️ For you who loves my review and follow it, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I did not get paid or be told to do a review on a book. I’m here just to write review about a book so i can remember it. Its my honest opinion😚 I didn’t know at first people will find me and follow me and trust me to be honest, I was surprised myself to look at the notifications from people who reach out to me😆 So everything i write down here on a review is based on my personal opinion and based on my true writing. I DID NOT COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW OR WRITING SKILL because at first when i was using this app for one year i didn’t know how to scroll down on a book and see the reviews from others😂😅🤣 I know, silly me but hey I finally learned my lesson 😛😛😛 Thats why when people assume i copy someone’s review i was like what? Because at first i didn’t know how to use this app properly and i didn’t know how to open someone’s review because for a year i never follow someone or add friends or someone😂😂😂🤣 (I’m laughing so hard) 🤪 AND I NEVER COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW EVER. IF I WRITE SOMETHING WRONG OR DOESN’T MAKE SENSE PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND BE NICE OKAY. 👈🏽👈🏽👈🏽✋🏽✋🏽
I have a disclaimer down bellow if you have negative thoughts about my review😙😙😙
🌐🌐🌐➡️↘️⬇️➡️This is my own personal thoughts and opinion about the book so if thats not sit right with you or you feel I’m not being fair blablabla, please know that everybody in this world have their own different things that they like and don’t like. It may not be the same thing with you but thats okay because i am my own person and you cannot control me or tell me what to do. For example; i put ketchup (tomato sauce) on my fried chicken. You think that’s disgusting? For me its not and i’ve been eating it like that for many many years. You tell me to put another sauce and see if i like that better? I already did many many times in years but i still like the way i like it. It’s called differences between me and you and billions people in this world😊 be open minded😙 I respect people’s opinions about my opinions but in the end of the day if i say I don’t like it or i do like it, its up to me and its on me. And in the end of the day i always liked and show my respect to books and people’s opinions on books whenever that book is good or not good in my opinion 😊 Respect people’s opinions guys😙😙 I don’t want to write this down because its not really my thing to do it. To like address something like this when obviously i know the people who’s been reading my reviews many times and all the time, they are smart enough to understand and respect other people’s opinions no matter what their opinions on book or their point of view 😙😙 am i right? 💕 also there are people even though i already write “this book is different because i have my own taste of book those people still comment my taste is this and that when HELLO everybody have their own thoughts on books and what they want to read why i read it then? I read it and give it a review because i have to read a book to give it a review why not read the description book to understand before I’m going to read it? Hello just in case you haven’t notice, description books can be tricky because they write this amazing things about a book but turns out the story is so toxic. Maybe for me its toxic but not for you? YES HELLO THATS WHY US HUMAN BEING HAVE OUR DIFFERENCES, WHAT I LIKE IT DOESN’T MEAN YOU WILL LIKE IT AND EITHER WAY TOO. why i still write the review then if i just don’t like a book? Because I CAN and i want to, you cannot tell me what to do and not what to do🤪 if you still wants to be negative and be karens about my review on book after all of what i just write, i will never acknowledge you and simply ignore you because its not that hard🙏 I won’t respond to negativity comments🙏🏼🙏🏼 DON’T ASK ME AGAIN ABOUT WHY NOT RESPONDING TO YOUR NEGATIVE COMMENTS BECAUSE I ALREADY SAY IT HERE AND I WON’T BE EXPLAINING AGAIN BECAUSE WE’RE NOT CHILDREN SO ITS NOT HARD FOR YOU AN ADULT TO UNDERSTAND😌😌 YES MY REVIEW IS LONG BUT YOU READ IT ANYWAY AND ITS FINE ACTUALLY I CAN WRITE AS LONG AS I LIKE😎 YES MY GRAMMAR IS BAD SOMETIMES AND MAYBE ALL THE TIME BUT LUCKILY MANY PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT I’M SAYING🤪 ⬅️↖️↕️⬅️↩️⤴️
Jennifer's Review - 4.5 stars Dash Kingston has a bad reputation. As the front man for the band The Original Kings, he is always in the paparazzi with a different woman and rumors swirl about him and his hard partying, womanizing ways. Looking to fix his image, he needs a girlfriend that will make him appear to be settling down. Cassidy Forrester fell once for Dash’s charm and has been avoiding him since. Now she is in between jobs and working with the band, where her brother is the new drummer. When Dash and his team come up with the fake girlfriend idea, she is the perfect choice. As Dash grows tired of the partying, he begins to realize that he wants Cassidy as a real girlfriend. There are some roadblocks to get to their happily ever after, but together they can do anything. I am really enjoying this series. Carly Phillips stories never disappoint. Really looking forward to reading more about this awesome family!
I gotta say this was a fun ride. It was sweet, funny and smexy and there were some great moments between all of the Kingston fam and those they call their own.
I already loved Cassidy because of all that went down in Just One Chance, but getting to go deeper and see how strong she really is was a lot of fun. Dash was the one that had me going hmmm because of some of the things he did, but I really enjoyed seeing him evolve and do everything he could do simply be better. Their second chance journey was a lot of fun. The chemistry was already there, and watching Dash show Cassidy, in various ways, that not only was he changing his own life around, but that he truly liked her and wanted more was all kinds of sweet, smexy and fun and I really liked how everything turned out for them.
This was another great addition to the series. Outside of Cassidy and Dash’s journey, I really enjoyed seeing how the relationships within the Kingston family evolved and how close they all are. And up next is Aurora, which I am all kinds of excited to get my hands on and see her finally get her HEA!

Just when I think I’ve had my fill of billionaire romance, this crafty lady reminds me once again what there is to love about them. Then she sets the story in the rock star world, and I already know it's going to be an excellent read!
Super star Dash Kingston's personal life is a mess. With one scandal too many, his PR guru suggests a fake girlfriend to show the world he's settled and serious about his music. Except the perfect girl for the job is not only the band's personal assistant and his bandmate's sister, but someone he has a lot of groveling to do in order to get back into her good graces. For some reason, Cassidy Forrester agrees to help out Dash and the band, but she’s determined to keep her heart out of the equation.
It always amazes me how much emotion this talented writer infuses into a shorter length romance. It takes a skillful writer to evoke such a vast array of feelings in the reader while being economical with word count. She succeeds at it brilliantly, like no one else I’ve ever seen.
I quickly fell in love with these characters and absolutely had to see how things would work out. Between the fake relationship becoming less and less fake and an addition element of tension, I devoured this one quickly. Funny but heartfelt, and sexy but poignant, this masterfully written, phenomenal read is a fantastic way to start the new year!
Lordy, who doesn’t love a reformed bad boy rock star romance?? Especially one that’s a bit of an enemies-to-lovers second-chance romance! I know I sure do, and I loved Just One Spark the latest in the fantastic The Kingston Family series.
I’ve been waiting for Dash and Cassidy’s story since their . . . er . . . connection in Just Once Chance and I knew sparks would fly once Dash set his mind to showing Cassie he’s a reformed man. That he wants what she wants—to be loved and have a family. That he’s ready to settle down. And having Cassie act as his pretend girlfriend to change the narrative of the band’s latest gossip.
And against her better judgment—but her libido is fully on-board—Cassie agrees to this crazy plan. But she didn’t plan for her heart to become involved the more she got to know the real Dash below his rock star façade.
I loved Dash and Cassie together. Their connection and spark was undeniable. They definitely had some work to do to get past their issues, but it was so nice to see them work things out together, as adults and actually talk about things. And I would be remiss to not mention how much I adore this Kingston family—how everyone rallies around each other, to be there for each other in support and of course some good-natured sibling ribbing.
I’m looking forward to Aurora’s story next. It’s going to be messy, and I cannot wait! ~ Missy, 5 stars
I’m really enjoying this series but this wasn’t my favorite so far. I still liked it well enough but it was just a little better than ok. Rounding it up to 4 stars is just because the series has been so addictive. This rock-n-roll star tattooed sibling is a little different than the rest of the siblings but that’s another thing that makes the series good. They’re not carbon copies of each other. I’ve said this before but as much as I love this series…it’s not realistic type fiction. It’s still enjoyable as hell. The audiobook narrators are good on this one. It’s dual POV and I love that.
Just One Spark is a second chance rock star romance that intertwines with a little of a fake relationship trope. Dash is your typical rock star, leaving women in his wake but when he gets a wake up call plus struggling with the regrets of the one woman he should never have walked away from, life is about to take a different turn. When his PR assistant gives him the perfect opportunity to try to mend what he broke, he jumps at the chance to try to repair what he destroyed. The spark between Dash and Cassidy is electric but with the fear of rejection clouding Cassidy's judgement it might just take more than chemistry to win her heart. There is drama, confrontation, regrets and a low level amount of angst to hold you gripped within the pages. It also is overflowing with passion, love, friendship and family. A beautiful love story that serenades your heart.
When a pregnancy scare has rockstar Dash reconsidering his life choices, it opens up the possibility of redemption with the woman he's never gone without a day without thinking of. Will this be a second chance for him and Cassidy? Or will this fake relationship remain fake because Cassidy doesn't trust he won't revert back to his old habits?
I always love it when a character is able to change and grow, to gain some redemption for past bad behavior. This is exactly what happens with Dash. He had a lot of growing up to do, in order to be the man Cassidy deserved. Thankfully he was up for the job, and the two were able to find their happy. I loved how strong their connection was, both emotionally and physically, and Dash's bandmates and the Kingston family were there to provide needed love and support for our couple.

Rockstar romance is not my go-to trope but I do so love and I just had to read the next of the Kingston clan to meet his match - especially since we got a quick tease of Dash and Cassidy in the previous book in this series, . With that said, fear not, this book stands completely alone although the cameo game is strong from other Kingstons, Dares and their friends and extended family.
Dash is a playboy rockstar that has enjoyed the fruits of his fame for many a year. And by fruits I mean women - lots and lots of women. Again that’s not normally my jam but at least it’s not shown on the page and Dash is a suitably changed man once he encounters Cassidy. Although yes, he freaked out after their first night together and ran for the hills. Now he’s all in and the need for a fake girlfriend is the perfect excuse to get Cass close to him again.
Despite his profession, I did like Dash. He was sweet and determined and was definitely trying to make something real with Cass. He did have his problems, which were explored in a sub-plot, mostly to do with drugs, the loss of a friend and his relationship with his father. These weren’t overly important to the story but gave a nice depth to Dash’s character. And of course, I always enjoy the banter that Ms Phillips does so well within her big, close-knit families.
Likewise, I enjoyed Cass’s character. She was a strong and self-sufficient woman who knew her own mind and knew that she was in real danger of falling for Dash by taking part in their fake relationship ruse. She had a nice touch of vulnerability which helped her come across as real rather than clinical as she’s often got her guard up - understandably so.
Dash and Cassidy have some great chemistry and we get more than the usual sex scenes as they are already aquatinted and, for the beginning at least, are attempting to make people believe their fake relationship is real. Oh, and did I mention that Dash is a dirty talker? Mmm mmm mmm - more, please!
There were a lot of different elements to this story and each one morphed into the next seamlessly. It was absolutely a page-turner and I never had to force myself to pick it up and read some more. I did have a little bit of wondering about whether to give this 4 or 5 stars - but I eventually went with 5 stars as I think my hesitation is purely from my usual aversion to rock star romances. And I really did enjoy this book - how could I not when it’s by one of my favourite storytellers, ?
Towards the end of the story we also get a tiny glimpse into the start of Aurora’s story, who is, if you haven’t been reading all the Dare / Kingston books, a Kingston half-sibling who was rescued by the Dare’s in . And to say I’m giddy with excitement would be a major understatement.
But as to this book, whether you’re a fan of or of rockstars getting their worlds upended by smart and strong women, then I would recommend this book to you. It’s chock full of twists, turns and sexy shenanigans - you won’t be disappointed. 5 stars.
I just love the Kingston and Dare families. Now that the Kingston’s are all grown up, they are so great about taking care of each other. Dash Kingston is lead singer of his band and has sowed some wild oats in his younger days! Dash helped out Cassidy who is his brother’s wife Sasha’s best friend and messed up big time with her one night. I felt bad because Dash really felt something for Cassidy, but was scared as he had never felt that way about a woman. I felt bad for Cassidy as she had something traumatic happen to her parents when she was younger. Then her boyfriend that she had been with for four years broke up with her in a text message. I could understand why she doesn’t trust Dash. It is suggested that Dash and Cassidy pretend to be a couple to help his image. The band’s manager was a piece of work and didn’t listen to what the band members wanted and caused some trouble. Cassidy’s brother has just joined the band as the new drummer and she doesn’t want to do anything to get him kicked out of the band. I hated it when Dash had to face some past ghosts when some news got out. I wanted Dash and Cassidy to get together as I thought they made a good couple. I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
What happens when a man whore rock god meets his match? Hats what Dash finds out! He was smitten with Cassie from the minute he met her. One night in her bed and he’s never the same again. I loved these two together. They both had their own personal issues going on, but yet rose above them to come together for a HEA! I love Carly’s books and this one did not disappoint!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
4 There’s So Much More to this Man than Meets the Eye Stars!!
I absolutely loved this book and Dash and Cassidy in particular. We’ve seen glimpses of Dash in the previous books in this series but there’s definitely some darkness in his heart that we finally get some insight to and he needs to come to terms with!
Cassidy is a woman from Dash’s past and she’s here to help him thanks to him needing to clean up his image, but she’s determined not to let him invade her heart again because she can’t handle that pain again. But fate steps in in so many ways allowing these two to rediscover the feelings they had for each other and this time they’re both older and hopefully wiser and will allow they love they’ve never lost for each other to blossom again.
I loved the pacing of this book and all the secondary characters and how some of their actions have repercussions for our H/h because they play pivotal roles in their lives. I loved watching how Dash and Cassidy evolved. There’s just the right amount of angst with a little drama but so much heart and soul in this book!!
I was anxiously awaiting this one. Dash and Cassidy strong was a light, easy read that sucks you in from the very beginning. They have some serious chemistry and I love that Dash was his real self with Cassidy!! Great read and great addition to the series!!
As a fan of rockstar romances I was immediately drawn to this story and quickly became invested in the second chance this playboy rocker has been given. Though the storyline is familiar, the issues between these former lovers having been dealt with before, this was still an enticing read. From the first page to the last this was a charming tale, a satisfying story of making amends to forge a new beginning, and is another example of how talented Ms. Phillips is in creating quick reads full of heart and soul.
Dash Kingston's the proverbial playboy rockstar, flitting from one woman to the next. When his most recent encounter leads to hard truths he decides it's time to change...and admit what's been weighing on him for years. Leaving Cassidy Forrester behind was the biggest mistake of his life, no other woman has ever been able to compare. With so many scandals his PR people think he needs to change too and they enlist the one person he never expected to see again to help clean up his image. And so Dash is given a second chance to prove he's a changed man to the woman whose heart has been hardened since the morning he walked away. Dash was a likable hero, one who grew and matured as the story progressed. He was fun and flirty and with each turn of the page he showed himself to be a man with a big heart more than ready to give it to the only woman for him. Dash might've frustrated me a time or two at the start, but by the end of the story he had completely won me over.
Cassidy was a good match in the plan to remake Dash's image as she's someone who understands the rockstar world with her brother being a member of the band. She's an immensely appealing heroine with a kind heart when readers first meet her, a heroine full of insecurities who doesn't find it easy to express her desires. But in this story she shows a more determined side, a protective side that gets slowly worn down by the rocker bent on proving himself despite Cassidy keeping her heart hardened. While there was a lot of baggage between these two, the sparks flying between them were more than obvious and very believable. Playful and steamy moments were balanced with more heartfelt and sensual interludes as Cassidy slowly saw the importance of forgiveness. To discover the love of a lifetime she needed to finally move on from the past in a journey full of heart and soul that pulled at my heartstrings.
On a whole this was a fast-paced romance of second chances, a journey of redemption, all set in the rockstar world with all the expected glitz and glamor. Dash and Cassidy are an engaging pair, a duo whose actions kept me glued to the pages, rooting for them to find themselves back into each other's arms. There are secrets surrounding them though, secrets and drama that Dash has to deal with in order to prove himself to Cassidy in their emotional journey to HEA. Surrounding this entertaining main couple were the other members of the Kingston clan, a family who was supportive and who I look forward to seeing more of in future installments. By the turn of the final page I was once again left smiling and impressed by the ability of Ms. Phillips to craft yet another man worthy of being called a hero in a book I definitely recommend!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided to me. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
If you like second chance rockstar romance with fake marriage, this book is for you!
Dash Kingston hadn’t cared what the press said or did until a surprise knocked him on his butt. Now is the time to straighten up and hopefully make things right with Cassidy Forrester.
Cassidy’s brother may be the new drummer, but her brother doesn’t know that she has met Dash before and knows what he’s like between the sheets. Cassidy isn’t willing to let her heart get broken again. Especially after Dash already ditched her once before, Cass is ready to help rebuild his reputation. Hoping not to let all of her insecurities
I am more excited to see what happens with Aurora than anything else! I would have liked this story to be told from a dual point of view. I also would have liked it even more if it was. Even though it wasn’t, I still enjoyed it, even though I also skipped through certain parts that bored me.
Dash is a successful rockstar who enjoys the perks of the lifestyle and the fame until he realizes he wants more. His agent has suggested the best way to repair his reputation is to show he is in a committed relationship and the only person he can imagine doing it with is Cassidy. The only drawbacks to this plan is they share a past that not only doesn’t her brother know about but one that also didn’t end well.
Cassidy’s romantic past isn’t without its turmoil but for the sake of the band that her brother is part of she is willing to pretend to be Dash’s girlfriend. He had his chance and walked away so this time she is going to protect her heart, but she wasn’t prepared for how persuasive Dash could be when he decides he wants a second chance.
Hot chemistry and all the feels as Dash has always known that Cassidy was special and he is determined to show her that what they share is strong enough to overcome anything as long as they have each other.
Just One Spark truly was a story of two people that are stronger together than they ever could have been apart. Carly takes us on a journey through heartbreak, overcoming past mistakes, and finding forgiveness in order for love to develop for two people that have never deserved it more. Dash was a great character with all the heart, sweetness, naughtiness, and love that makes him fun to read and enjoyable to learn more about as he grew and changed as he fell in love with Cassidy. Cassidy found her ability to forgive and offer herself to those she loves without holding back that last piece for self-preservation, which truly is the only way to give love. The passion between Cassidy and Dash has been off the scale since they locked eyes on one another in the previous novel, but in their love story, when they slowly opened their hearts as well, the heat became nearly unbearable. Their love story reminds us that while the past has certainly shaped us all, we cannot allow it to continue to rule us and that sometimes the only person that truly needs to forgive us for our mistakes is ourselves. I loved watching these two people opening up to one another, learning one another’s secrets, and ultimately falling in love so deeply there is no doubt it will last a lifetime. I am looking forward to Axel’s story in the next few months and of course there is the lingering question of Dash’s sister Aurora, who I hear will be getting her own fabulous story coming soon as well. There is no end to the fabulous imagination of Carly Phillips and Just One Spark reminds us that her reign as a Queen of Romance is in no danger of coming to an end any time soon!
I was waiting for Dash’s story, and I was not disappointed. Dash is the fourth Kingston sibling, and he is no less successful than any of his brothers or sister. He loves his life as the lead singer for his band. But a scare has him questioning things, and maybe the life of a rock star does get old?
Easter Eggs to this pair were presented in the book prior. We meet Cassidy as assistant to his brother’s fiancée. Dash meets Cassidy and is smitten in that book, so will they get a chance? Dash’s life is one PR mess after another, does Cassidy want to give her fragile heart to him?
Just One Spark is the fourth in the series, you can read it alone, but you want to enjoy all of the Kingston clan. Also, the author has announced a fifth book in the series, with more than a visit from an old friend.
Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Just One Spark by Carly Phillips gives us Dash and Cassidy’s story and it is full of steamy chemistry and great characters. Dash is a rock star living the dream with no regrets. Until his life is upended with a baby scare. Now he needs to turn his life around. Enter Cassidy. The woman who rocked his world and then he ran from. The one he needs to help change his image. She is willing to do it, but she will not fall for his charm again, right?
It was supposed to be a fake relationship, however, the chemistry they shared was undeniable. Once Dash knew what he wanted he was one determined man. He was charming and sexy. Cassidy is smart, beautiful, and just as determined. Their story was emotional and angsty and we get to see them grow as characters and towards each other. It was a sweet and engaging story.
I have not read the previous books in this series and I think it's possible that those who loved this book have. This book just didn't work as a standalone at all.
There were so many characters and the reader gets bits and pieces of huge past occurrences that happened in the previous books. It was very confusing.
Also, I had a major problem with the lead characters constantly slut-shaming women that the male lead slept with in his recent past. His previous sexual partners are referred to by the leads as SKANKS and GROUPIES on more than one occasion. While our male lead gets a personal growth arc about how he's maturing out of sleeping with every woman he encounters.
Slut-shaming is never okay, even if a female is the book's antagonist.
This book didn't work for me, but I think those who are invested in this series will really love this book. If you want to read it I would suggest reading the series in order so you can enjoy this book even more!
Well this was a great read which is not a surprise since every book in this series has been better than the last.
Dash and Cassidy have a past that's not really a past and when life throws the last curve ball for Dash to catch he finally sees that he needs to change his life and that's starts with correcting the wrongs with Cassidy. He's s more than ready to show her how much she means to him. But he got his work cut out for him because she been hurt one to many times and is not going to let go of it any time soon.
They battle together and come out as winners at the end with the future looking bright.

Just One Spark is the fourth book in the Kingston series and is a second chance, rockstar romance. I've been waiting for Dash's book and I definitely wasn't disappointed. The spark and connection between Dash and Cassidy has been clear from the start and they are perfect for eachother. Ghosts from the past threaten their HEA and make their story a real page turner. Just One Spark mixes some of my favourite tropes, and it's definitely a book I recommend reading.
Just One Spark is the fourth book in The Kingston Family series by Carly Phillips. The author has written a beautiful, fast-paced, second chance, rockstar romance with a great storyline, engaging characters, secrets, undeniable chemistry, drama, a bit of angst, obstacles, passion, lots of feels, and love.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I was so excited to see Dash and Cassidy's story and how he was going to make up for what he did. This moves quickly but gives the reader all the love, family, and steam we need. Once I started, I couldn't put it down and I might have stayed up way too late to finish it. The chemistry is amazing and even though it took Dash a scare to help his playboy ways, I love how he was there with Cassidy.

Just One Spark is book 4 in the Kingston series by Carly Phillips and oh my!
Next up is Dash Kingston and Cassidy Forrester, fast paced, second chance romance, steamy, family mixers, overcome obstacles and so much more! Once you start it could be a late night!! Can’t wait for the next book in this series!!
This book is typical Carly Phillips, you pretty much know what you're getting when you read it, and I mean that in a good way. I didn't quite understand why she gave him another chance when she was sure he would eventually move on and leave her feeling abandoned all over again. But they got their happily ever after in the end.
