My douchebag of a stepbrother is blackmailing me. Carter thinks he can use me to steal something from the Elite, something he is desperate to bury. Reckless. Frantic. Violent. I didn’t ask for this life, and yet I’m caught in the middle of a dangerous game. And the stakes are deadlier. The Elite, four damaged, gorgeous, arrogant guys, think they own me now. But I have my own family drama. Turns out, my entire identity is a lie. I don’t know who I am anymore.
Disorder is a full length 90k dark high school romance novel, the second book in the Elite of Elmwood Academy series. This series is not RH and ends on a cliffhanger. It is recommended for 17+ due to language, sexual assault, drugs, and drinking.
USA TODAY Bestselling author J.L. Weil lives in Illinois where she writes Teen & New Adult Paranormal Romances about spunky, smart mouth girls who always wind up in dire situations. For every sassy girl, there is an equally mouthwatering, overprotective guy. Of course, there is lots of kissing. And stuff.

She is the author of the International Bestselling Raven & Divisa series.
That twist, what? No. Also, this girl is too dumb to live. She keeps making the same stupid, life threatening, mistakes over and over again. And not seeing completely obvious traps. I am going to read the next book though. Let’s see if I dnf. 😬
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars! The second book was so good, picked after the last book ends on a cliffy. They get better and better. Can’t wait until 11/15/21 to read the last in this trilogy. One of the best bully books I’ve read in a long time, most them are really just a rinse and repeat and borderline savage cruelty. Definitely recommend this one.
Och här trodde jag att det inte kunde bli mycket värre. Jag hade fel, om det är någon som undrar.
"James", he growled. "Taylor", I spat back. His arms folded over his chest, that sexy mouth no longer smirking. "I´m still furious with you." The rigidness in my shoulders eased. "I know." "We´re not done. Follow me." "In those sweatpants... anywhere."
I turned my gaze out the window before Grayson caught the sudden water that sprang to my eyes. Don´t cry. Don´t cry. But I hadn´t been quick enough. "Are you crying?" he asked softly. [...] "No", I replied, my voice sounding funny, giving me away. [...] His eyes returned to the road, mouth flattening. "Well, my triplet telepathy is calling bullshit." [...] "It´s okay, you know. You don´t have to be this brave badass chick all the time." [...] "You think I´m badass?" [...] "Don´t let it go to your head. I´m trying to be serious here." [...] "Fine, continue having your big brother moment." [...] "You ruined it. But what I was trying to say is I can be brave for both of us, if you let me."
"Let´s go out. Give me ten minutes. And I better not get abducted or beaut up tonight, clear?" "So that leaves room for shot or buried alive", Micah joked. Mads whacked Micah on the back of the head. "You´re one morbid asshole."

This series is so close to being perfect but needs more editing
The chemistry between brock and Josie just leaps off the page, Mads and Micah I adore and his character comes across really well Greyson seems like such a good guy but I don’t know much about Flynn still
Definitely would like to murder carter those his character is so well written you HATE him
This book was on par with the first book. However, the familial twist was hard to swallow, the assumptions they make about how it happened, how Angie responds to the reveal was all.... too much. Especially how Angie responds by spilling her guts. NO way would she have done that.
Anyway, now we have more family drama for the next book. Let's go see if that book embraces every cliché possible about it.
The h keeps doing stupid shit and putting herself in situations that gets her ass kicks or outs herself in danger(repeatedly) . I hardly do this but this was DNF book for me and I hate doing that. I’ve tried to finish it over a week. Instead I’ve picked up 2 other book and finished them.
I was originally looking for a really good enemies to lovers/bully romance and this series popped up and am I sooooo glad I read it!
The Elite guys are amazing!!!! The twists and turns in the book and also this series are soooo fun and have me on the edge of my seat!!! Loving the relationships the back and forth! Sooo good!
How the hell has brock not asked her out yet. But except from that it’s a good book. This series is so good for a chilled quick read but with drama and plot twists
The Evil Stepbrother, Disturbed Mother, and Elmwood B Turn Up The Heat
* Spoilers Ahead You Have Been Warned*
So, this Second book takes up exactly where the first one ended.
With THAT bombshell from Brock.
Yep. Josie & Greyson are brother & sister. Well, along with Kenna, they are triplets
So. Now that’s out the way
How did this happen???
Well, in true soap opera style, the evil Angie swapped her dying daughter for Josie in the hospital…I kid you not…haha!
Now the Elite (this includes Josie) have to hold on to their little secret a bit longer so they can break the new to Greyson’s parents first, that there daughter is alive, while dealing with Angie.
However, it would appear that the awful, rapist, stepbrother Carter may also know this tidbit of information.
And he forms a sneaky plan to blackmail Josie in order to get his hand on a thumb drive the Elite own, containing damning intel, on the students, parents, & teachers of Elmwood.
The story eventually drags us through angsty, sex, & more family drama than you could poke a stick at. Leading up to the confrontation with bio parents towards the end.
The only thing the Elite have to do now is deal with Angie, & take down Ava and Carter.
Problem.
Brock’s brilliant plan is to let Ave believe he still wants her, THEN embarrassing her in front of the whole school. Of course, Josie is not thrilled with this plan, so we get more angst & fighting. But, don’t worry all is resolved in a gag worthy moment when Josie takes control of the situation at Brock s party. Leaving us with an..OH! FFS moment, with the Scooby gang all punching the air with glee, hugs all round, and Josie being officially welcomed into the Elite in front of the attending student body…Aww …groan! This whole part has the boys, & the equally interfering Mads feeling quite smug in their little “I told you so wink moment. ( Mads…Ugh..What a pain she is)
Groan worthy moments -
*The make out session in the middle of the road when Brock found Josie had gone home against his advice. I mean, why were they having a conversation in the middle of the road about Brock sleeping naked??? .I just don’t get it?
*Mads dressing her up for the car races God,I HATE the best friend giving the females leads makeover cliche scenarios that every god damn novel appears to have.
Speaking of the car racing, how did I know Josie would end up riding shotgun for one of the guys???.Oh yeah! Because I have read it before in a dozen other books.
This authors is hitting all the teen, bully, angsty marks
*Josie’s flashback to her kidnapping while she slept. Allowing Brock to wake her up to comfort her*cough* cue the “comfort sex that they always use.
*When Josie got jumped by the mean girls in the alley, and once home, all the Elite boys showing up to make sure “she was okay
Quite frankly, I skimmed over all the parts in this book where Josie and Brook had sex because, I just couldn’t put up with her endlessly gushing over how much she needed him, how gorgeous he was, how safe he made her feel. Not to mention, one sexual encounter pretty much was the same as all the others.
It also felt like the author was desperate to insert sex into every couple of chapters just to remind us she she was getting off writing about these two. Sex is always Josie’s ‘go to coping mechanism WHICH is bloody annoying. Even SHE realised this ain’t healthy.
Seriously, everything turned her on. His wet hair, his smell, his tight butt, his sexy smirk, his Aqua eyes, etc..etc.. We were ALWAYS being told about her obsession with him…CONSTANTLY
Two things at least that never, NEVER bode well for female leads -
Telling themselves that they won’t fall in love with male lead. It’s just sex. Then! Oh. I’ll just sleep with said male lead once, & get him out of my system.
WRONG & WRONG
Josie has the resolve of a nat when it comes to sticking to a plan, or keeping away from Brock Taylor.
And just when I thought the author had got all the F ing out of the way so could get back to the plot unfolding.
No.
We had to have one last session between J & B in my male Locker room…God sake!
“We fit so fucking perfectly. It was like God had crafted him just for me. Gushes Josie (FYI. A statement that I have read sooo many times in other novels. Is there a BR checklist to ticked off?)
There were parts of this book that were worth reading plot wise, just as there were parts where the author over indulged in her descriptive writing, & over explaining dept,.
Plus, no WAY are these guys 17, in High School, planning there futures together, with all this plotting, when their first reaction to a crisis is to hit the hard liquor (bourbon) or F it out of their system.
Next book, make the darling sister Kenna that Josie/Mikayla has been so looking forward to meeting come between the Elite, & Brock. Who’s side would they chose if THAT happened.
Whatever, I just want Brock & Josie’s relationship to go completely of the rails, & for her to end up with Micha and Mads with Flynn. NO BROCK & JOSIE HEA!!! ***
Page turner but heroine is victimized repetitiously
Debated a bit on 3 or 4 stars. This author really kicked the heck out of this heroine. She couldn't catch a break. Many was self afflicted. The villains were allowed way too much leeway to be complete demons.
I felt the villains were too exaggerated and allowed to much rein. It made the main characters seem weak and like losers. Author gave the villains too much power. The lack of power of the main characters was over did.
It was hard to read and depressing at times. Overall a good read, great writing but a bit morbid and weak. The heroine was victimized and powerless way too often.
There is a lot of scenes and situations that she shows weakness and stupidity. If you have such evil creatures surrounding you, been kidnapped, almost raped, when will you take better caution and care of yourself?
So author will have me to believe that these people are just brainless? At least keep a blade on you. Don't go into back alleys by yourself without telling anyone or talking directly to person you are meeting. Seriously! 🤦🏾♀. Anyway, book was a good suspenseful read. Will be reading book three.
I never like writing reviews for a series as a whole because there is just so much to say about what happened to the characters along the way. But this series was one of those that I couldn’t put down long enough to write a review for each book. Josie is something else. She’s fierce and loyal and doesn’t back down to anyone. I think that’s why her and Brock go so good together. She pushes him in ways that no one has ever dared to do before. In the span of this 3 book series, Josie’s world is knocked over and tipped upside down. I can’t really say much else without giving things away, but it just amazes me how resilient she is. She’s able to overcome everything that was thrown her way. At first I wasn’t too sure about Brock. He came off as a bit of a jerk, and he is, but not to the people he cares about. He protects Josie the best he can throughout the series, even when she’s too stubborn to accept it. I can’t quite tell you how much I really enjoyed this series. Not only did it have love and romance but also mystery, suspense and danger. I’m really going to miss Brock and Josie, but that just means that I’ll have to come back to their story sometime in the future ♥️
Josie just found out that she has a family. Not the jerk of a woman that calls herself her mother, but a real family. But....she has to keep it under wraps for now. Brock and the Elite have a plan to finally get Carter out of the picture and they want to make sure this information is not leaked to anyone. Carter is trying to blackmail Josie, but no ne messes with what belongs to the Elite. Carter just doesn't know it yet. Angie is in seventh heaven playing the new wife role. She thinks she is high on the list and can look down on anyone. She blames Josie for all issues she has with Carter. But she has a HUGE secret, one she certainly does not want to come out.
Josie is a triplet. Wow. Can things get any more weird? Of course they can. But the book is very good at creating controversy and playing the ultimate game of who did what to whom. Josie gets jumped by the resident b*** and her merry band of followers. Bad move. What happens next may disgust you or you may want to join the fun. The only problem....you have to read to find out what happens.
I am completely obsessed and addicted to this series!! Disorder is the second book in the Elite of Elmwood Academy series, and it’s just as intense and addicting as the first book was! After the first book, Turmoil, left me reeling from that cliffhanger ending, I couldn’t wait to jump back in and continue the story! Carter is still trying to use Josie against the Elite, Ava and her squad are just as cruel and evil as before, and the four Elite boys are as fiercely protective of Josie as ever. But I think my favourite thing about this book was the relationship development between Josie and Grayson. It was great to see him really step up and be someone Josie can truly rely on. There was a ton of scheming and plotting throughout this book, and it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat with all the anticipation and suspense! This book leaves off on yet another cliffhanger, but thankfully I found it slightly milder than the previous one! I absolutely can’t wait for next book to see how everything plays out!
I read book 1 and this book back to back without stopping until 3:30am - I honestly couldn’t stop, this storyline is fantastic, the twists and suspense really had me. I love that you expect one thing to happen, but then the twist completely throws you - perfection. This book is very well written with such detail and emotion, love, love , love Josie - she is a fantastic MC, especially in this book when she really stands up for herself and won’t take any crap. The Elite boys, while they are cocky and hot AF, you really start to see that bond they have shining through. You get to know some secrets which enables you to understand why they are what they are. The villains- Ava and Carter. These characters are so well developed and written, you honestly love to hate them. They really make this book as much as Josie and the Elite. I really like Mads, I feel her character is biding it’s time and she will hopefully shine in the coming book. Overall a fantastic book, loved it!
The constant twists & turns of this series are great!
Josie cannot catch a break! I swear this girl goes through more crap, I would have broken down but she just dusts herself off & keeps going & I love it.
I love love love Brock & Josie. I love their chemistry. I love the tender moments. I love the protectiveness of Brock & he gives off, touch her & I’ll kill you vibes.
Carter was psychotic & deserves to go to juvie or jail, seriously!
I did not agree with the Brock/Ava storyline. I also think Josie gave him a pass. He didn’t really have to work for her forgiveness & she didn’t stand up for herself. She is weak when it comes to Brock.
There were things that I wish the characters did. They could have simply told someone, given up the flash drive. I know it was to complicate things but this could have been a story resolved in 2 books.
The grammatical errors were pretty rough. Sometimes the sentences didn’t make sense. A few times names or places were wrong. Whoever the editor of this book was, they may need to be fired.
First let me say that the first book was good, great even. However, this second book was just blah and a hold lot of cringe-worthy behaviors taking place. The reason for the rating is the story wasn't relatable and the FMC was written to do stupid and unnecessary things. How are you afraid that your stepbrother might grape you but you never tell an adult. Not your father, teacher, best friends parents, and even your pseudo-mother. If anyone reading my review and doesn't feel safe please tell an adult. Then when she gets jumped and go stay with her father she decides he cannot handle it. Like what, girl ppl have failed you repeatedly. Also, you tell your biological parents that you are their dead daughter and not everything about the crazy stepbrother. The author says repeatedly how the elites are such a powerful group but to be honest the FMC got touch too many times with the villains in the book for this to be true. I will not continue reading this series.
I was so happy to come back to this story and see what is going to happen next!
I really like Josie as a character, and boy did she go through a lot in this one! It was great to see her grow as a character as well and see her mature dealing with the hand she has been dealt but taking charge and going for what she wanted. It was good to see more of her vulnerability as well.
I loved seeing more of the boys and I really want more from Micah and Flynn now that we know a bit more about Grey and Brook. I liked mads too in this one especially how she bounces off of Josie as well. There really is a lot of likable side characters in this story and makes it never boring.
A lot of twists and turns, I will say a lot I did see coming but it has for sure set up for the next book to be really interesting. I just want Josie to be happy and on her own 2 feet at the end of this.
I COULD NOT PUT THIS DOWN!!! The cliffhanger from the first book lived rent free in my mind for weeks, I was honoured to get an arc of Disorder, but now umm i need revenger. This book is filled with action, I lost a lot of sleep over the weekend because I needed to keep going. This bully romance just hits differently. The shit our poor Josie goes through, but she takes control and man people better get out of her way. Her and Brock tho... man i want to be with an Elite.. Why am I like this? LOL
and the book ends with another damn cliffhanger DUN DUN DUN. I need Revenge sent to my kindle right MEOW
I’ve savoured this book. I’ve limited my reading time so I could truly enjoy it and I have! Love this new series and the twists and turns that are unravelling. Where will JL Weil take Josie on her journey? How much more will she put her through!
This is an addictive read. I love The Elite and their different personalities. Brock maybe the main love interest but I’m hoping we see more of the other characters and they get their own books. Mads and Micah especially.
If you fancy a high school romance with twist and turns then you won’t be disappointed. The characters are well written and the plot well thought out.
. This story line gets better and better with every buck. Josie and Brock have this chemistry that is off the charts add in her new phone brother the school's biggest man whore and the quiet flirt and you got a package deal although the two other guys flirt hardcore with her they may want her but Brock has her heart. Secrets have been revealed and she now knows that she has a brother and a sister she's been kidnapped and her mom is not her real mom. She meets her real parents and things just keep unraveling and it keeps you interested and so much is going on and you just want more and more and more it is a great book or series.
The continuation of Josie's life trying to make sense of the crap her mother has served to her all her life. Finally she confronts her mother and her mother shares her tale of woe is me. Josie then goes to her father, who is not her dad, and tells him the story of the her being taken from the hospital when his real daughter died. He is of course shocked and Josie gives him the information she has.
Her father(the one who raised her) is shocked and he turns Josie's mother over to the police to have her charged with baby kidnapping. The story takes off from there. Josie really doesn't want her kidnapper to suffer too much and she is sure that she will be able to wiggle out of it. Carter is still after her and her sister, who he raped years ago. He simply wants what Brock has.
Honestly the 2nd book was just as good as the first book.
More drama unfolds in book two and so many more emotions. It’s definitely a roller coaster of ups and downs. I loved how strong the Josie’s relationship with the elite has come together. Each one is definitely unique.
This one ends on a cliffhanger as well and it’s a definitely a surprise. I’m hoping the return doesn’t brings Josie something positive not more hurt! We shall see.
I definitely recommend continuing on! Due check the triggers! Also there a few errors in the book but seriously you can read over them. Blame the editor!
Ahhh Hell Yes!! Disorder is exactly what this story is, and I am here for every moment.
I freaking love this series, it has so many things that I love. There is so much drama, there is OM and OW, lots and lots of sexual tension and some hot and steamy goodness. I am loving the twists and anticipation.
Josie and Brock take one hell of a ride, there is so much back and forth and damn it did I wanna strangle Brock a few times. Everything with Ava frustrated me to hell but damn did it have me completly captivated. I love the protective instincts these two have, with not only each other but also with their "family".
I need Revenge like right now, I want more of these guys.
Absolutely love the elite boys they are friend goals along with Mads and Ainsley. Brock got a little bit much at times but still love him and the way he is there for his friends and Josie. I wish I could castrate a character through the pages that's what Cater deserves such an entitled little piece of shit. His dad is just as bad along with Angie's drunk abusive ass. I'm glad that Josie has an opportunity to have the family she needs. Did anybody else know that Kenna was coming or get a bad feeling about her sudden return?
Enjoyed the second instalment of this series. I love the characters in this sseries, especially Micah and Mads. Intrigued as to where book three will go. I get the feeling we haven't seen the last of Ava and Carter. And that new character turning up at the end will sure change the dynamics of the group. Love Brock and Josie together and looking forward to the next part of their story.
