This grumpy billionaire has mistaken my house for a hotel.

But hey, who am I to correct him?

It’s been a slow season. My honey has barely sold, and the bills are piling up. How hard can it be to take care of a guest?

I just need to feed him. Clean his room and keep up the ruse until his fancy car is fixed and he can drive into the sunset.

My guest is difficult, though. He’s stern, impossible to please, and distractingly handsome. Worst of all, he’s starting to suspect.

A few more days. That’s all I need to last.

A few more days in his good graces—and out of his bed.

Pit Stop is a short and steamy instalove rom com, starring a grumpy billionaire and the plucky beekeeper trying her luck.

I did not expect this one to be so freaking ADORABLE, TENDER and HOT at the same time. I really liked the atmosphere, a bee farm in the middle of nowhere, just heat, dust and silence, sun-baked wind, purple-tinged sky and mountains looming in the distance, a young lonely woman barefoot and dressed in skimpy cotton shorts with a goat pet and impeccably dressed, stern and stoic older billionaire, a lost soul knocking on her door in this wilderness... There was just something in the writing style that worked for me so well and I simply loved it!

I'm rating it against others insta novellas I've read.

This was fine, but I didn't totally feel the H & h's chemistry. It was also very random and had no relevance to the story that the H was a billionaire. Personally I would've preferred some wandering, rough biker man or something haha would've made more sense for the direction the novella goes.

*And spoilers*
Because it's totally insane that he would, after two days, decide to give up his company and live in the middle of nowhere at a rundown bee keepers house 🧐 like come on...Keya could definitely move. But whatevs.

2-2.5 stars?

This was far from what I'd expected.

I think the biggest disappointment for me was the insta everything here.
And the lack of anything realistic.
And the fact that the heroine was getting on my nerves.

Because we have Rhett, our very famous, extremely successful billionaire whose car breaks down in the middle of a desert. And when searching for help he stumbles upon Keya's Honeycomb Hideaway and mistakes it for a hotel.

And of course we have insta vibes in both our characters' pants, and after 2 days we have an eternal love and the hero decides to drop his entire life and career and live in the middle of nowhere because Keya’s pussy is so addictive.

And that was just stupid for me.
And it felt like another Jessa Kane for me.

Hence the missing stars.

But I still love Cassie Mint, just not this book.
I love Cassie's writing with that element of slow burn that she is so freaking good at.
Not the insta crap.

Mhhm, yes. If you like a stern, disapproving rich man who calls the heroine ‘sweetheart’ boy, do I have the novella for you 😋 (and definitely check out the bonus story too! bonus points for that one 👀)

Rhett is on a road trip to various cities taking meetings for his company since he hates to fly he's driving from city to city. On the way to his next meeting his car breaks down in the desert where there's no cell service leaving him no choice but to go walk and look for a place with a phone he could use. He comes across the Honeycomb Hideaway and Keya who is trying to keep her Nana's beekeeping business going while she's on her world cruise but it's not going so well. Then billionaire Rhett Rockwell is knocking on her door asking if there's a phone he can use inside and she can't help teasing him about the situation he finds himself in. She's embarrassed that he sees the overdue bills piled up so she shows him where the phone is and tells him to go on his way. The mechanic can't come until the next day so he asks for a room since he's under the impression that Honeycomb Hideaway is a hotel. Keya still upset with him charges him triple the rate for a room and gives him her room. They're both attracted to each other and have chemistry together even though they're fighting it. The mechanic tells him it's going to be a few days to get the parts so Rhett tells Keya that he'd like to extend his stay. Now that he's staying longer will they be able to fight their growing attraction and will he find out that the Hideaway is not a hotel? What's going to happen when he does find out? You really need to read this book to see what happens with them.

It had me going back and forth.

I’m not sure about this book. It gave me weird vibes. At first I didn’t really like it, then I started to enjoy it, then I thought the steamy stuff was great, I ended up kind of liking it. I don’t know what to tell you. It had me all over the place. Rhett was super uptight, Keya was a naive cryer, but the impact play was fun.

All in all, if you enjoy Cassie Mint you’ll probably love this. I’m not sure why it had me all over the place.

This was completely a me thing: I know someone with the exact same name and description as the h- and it was so eerily similar (personality aside 💀), that it psyched me out so bad I can't 😭.

I'm annoyed because I've been wanting to read a longer novella by CM for a while. Nevertheless, this was still enjoyable, with a questionable yet enjoyable storyline.

Keya is taking care of her grandmother's honey business while her grandmother takes a long-awaited vacation. Rhett, a billionaire CEO, comes knocking on her door, thinking she's a hotel, when his car breaks down in the desert. Keya goes along with his assumption. Both are attracted, but figure this will not go anywhere. How little they know. Rhett introduces Keya to spanking. She likes it. She wants to do more with Rhett. His car is fixed, and he can now leave. Keya has a hard time letting go. Rhett goes down the road. Will he continue on his journey?

I liked this story. I liked Keya and Rhett a lot. I liked that their thoughts were on the same lines. I liked how free they were with each other. Keya had a sunny personality. Rhett was more of a grump. I loved the last two chapters best. I liked also that we got both points of view.

Looking forward to reading more of Cassie Mint.

Good

This was a good story. Rhett hates flying and drives to all his meetings if they can’t come to him. On his way to a meeting in California his car breaks down in the middle of the desert in Arizona. Getting no signal on his phone he heads off on foot and finds a run down business he thinks is a hotel, in truth it is a honey business. Keya is trying to keep her and her grandmother’s business afloat while grandma is away on vacation. When Rhett shows up at her door looking for a room and being a little rude in the process she has no problem giving him her room and over charging him for it. The two are extremely attracted to one another and have great chemistry. But he is only in town for a few days, can forever be built in 3 days?

Safety and Spoilers
Completely safe. No ow/om drama. I’m pretty sure the H was celibate for a few years and h was a virgin. I did find the h a little immature but that might have been to being so young and dealing with a lot of emotions. She didn’t handle him possibly leaving very well. There was a little bit of a daddy/lg element to their sex even if the words weren’t used. No abuse.

Sooo sweet and cute! The writing for this was really funny and adorable. I laughed hard at the descriptions of the rundown "hotel." Rhett and Keya were a cute couple, and both had entertaining internal thoughts.

This story is about Rhett, a billionaire businessman who was taking a road trip for work, only to have his car break down in the middle of the desert. Keya is a young girl who lives in the middle of this desert, owning a honey shop that's struggling to produce and make ends meet. Rhett mistakes the shop for a dilapidated hotel, and decides to stay there until his car is fixed. Cue hilarity and hot moments of chemistry between him and Keya.

This story was very well written, and I even felt quite emotional at the end when they separated, even though I knew they would be together in the end.

As for heat and sexiness, it was pretty hot. I was hoping for some exhibitionism, with them doing it in the middle of the desert with people from the neighboring nudist colony watching 👁👄👁. But I'm just perverted like that.

Safety:
Heroine is a virgin, only experience was experimental kissing when she was young with another girl
Hero not a virgin, but celibate for a while
No cheating
HEA with pregnancy at the end

Dignity a Distant Memory for Keya the Desperate

Ain’t that the truth. It was fairly exciting to read an ethnic FL in a short story romance. They come few and far between with this type of genre. The downside is the author made Keya out to be such a pill and a clingy one at that. She was written out to be the dreaded “pick-me girl only with less dignity.

I understand instalove when there’s an inkling of a foundation, but instalove plus enemies-to-lovers is such a bad combination because there is very little time to establish a proper connection between the FL and ML. In this case, regrettably the author made Keya to be the pathetic clinger who needs to be saved by the billionaire.
***minor spoiler*** There was a particular scene after they were intimate, where she was desperate to make Rhett to stay and so her brilliant solution? Getting down on her knees to give him a BJ while crying. ***end of minor spoiler***
Girl has no sexual experience prior to Rhett whatsoever and that’s her Hail Mary pass. And it’s at that point where I decided enough was enough because I couldn’t further read how she makes even more of a fool of herself. What a way to degrade a character in less than a hundred pages. How this got the 5 star ratings it received is beyond me.

Super hot, super rich, mid 40s man meets dumb, innocent 20 year old girl that he does what he with. And of course she's all too happy to let him. Gone is the slightly more interesting girl from the beginning of the book who gave him attitude, replaced not even a day later with this all too eager to be punished and fucked by him boring girl. Seriously you've known the guy less than 24 hours and you're fine with kissing him, then a bit later letting him spank you and tease you with your vibrator because he caught you in a lie about your home being an inn/hotel. And I mean, let's be real, HE assumed it was one and she just didn't bother to correct him. Not to mention she was about to go do the right thing to tell him and give him back his money but he finds her vibrator instead and decides I'm just going to use her as my plaything.

Seriously I don't know why I read these books anymore. I do like insta love but this one isn't really that. It's just some horny mid 40s rich guy having a bad day and seeing a young girl that he can take out his frustrations on. Not saying she's any better since she knows exactly who he is and is probably living in some weird fantasy where she thinks he'll be her prince charming.

Keya & Rhett

Gosh this could have been a five star if Keya wasn’t so damn impulsive and mopy between the scenes.
Like when it’s their last day and instead of talking to the man she runs out crying, tending to the bees and tell them all of it.
Only to then explain to him what’s going on inside her. Why did it have to be so dramatic?

Just a simple “Is it weird that I don’t want you to go? after he told her that the car could be repaired a day early.

Ah I don’t know. It’s just. She indeed acted like a child but also Rhett pointing that out? Did not like that.

Anyway.
Beside that whole shebang I really enjoyed the book. Their banter was genuinely funny at times, they had great chemistry.
I liked it.

I did not get the situation with the grandma bc it felt like she wasn’t going to come back after her trip but apparently she did but Keya was left with the books in the meantime?

Only for the grandma coming back with her new boyfriend to take over the honeycomb hideaway again? Uhhh. Okay. 😶

Ok so, I didn’t expect much from this novella and wasn’t even mad when I realized how ridiculous the storyline was, because let’s face it, how on earth did that girl live with only her grandma, and then by herself, in the middle of the desert 50miles away from the nearest town for her whole life like that. The whole concept of it did not make any sense. Besides, why would a billionaire give up everything to live there with her??? Why couldn’t he keep at least working from home? Why wouldn’t he just ask for someone to pick him up when he relized he would stranded in a weird ass hotel in the middle of the desert? However, as I mentioned, i don’t really care for the answers. What I do care for and expected was for the sex scenes to be well written and the couple to have good chemistry, which unfortunately they were lacking. Don’t get me wrong, this is not terrible, it’s just not worth it. Honestly, I just think her books aren’t for me; sweet, but not really spicy.

I did not really like it.
The h too desperate (that crying almost blowjob scene). The H so non chalant about leaving her until the end, I really feel like she was convenient to him being stuck there, so their sexual encounters felt cheap. He did not even consider in his inner monologue to stay with her or take her with him, so I did not feel the love. What killed it for me was that he actually got in his car and left, and even if he turned around to come back, he still made the decision to leave. Too little, too late.
Safe
no cheating
No OM/OW
no love
virgin h
very experienced H (when the MMC talks about teaching her about sex, that is too much for me, it is just as gross as a player/manwhore hero)
Also comparing their kiss to the OW he kissed, even though it seemed clinical with other women kissing them with his eyes open, I don't want to imagine him kissing another women. So all together this book was a fail.

Rhett does not like to fly, so there he is driving thru the desert when his car breaks down and his phone does not have service. He starts waking when his phone is useless until he comes across a painted mailbox with Honeycomb Hideaway, he thinks he has found a hotel.

Keya has been working with the bees all day, not much honey this season, when someone is knocking her door. She agrees to rent him a room in her house, she does not tell it is not a motel.

This is a short and steamy read, a grumpy man and sweet as honey beekeeper with a happily every after.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Rhett is not a flyer, preferring to drive wherever business takes him. This is how he winds up broken down in the middle of no where. The only thing around is the house owned by Keya. She lets him believe that it is a bed and breakfast because she really needs the money. Keya has money problems that his visit might fix. While they fight their attraction, her story becomes clearer to him. This was a short, opposites attract romance. Rhett and Keya were good characters and I enjoyed the storyline.

Really fun story between a bee keeper and a billionaire. Rhett is driving to one of his meetings and his car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. He hikes up a dirt road and sees a sign that says Honeycomb Hideaway. He believes he's found a hotel in the middle of nowhere. When Keya answers the door she no's right away who he is. He asks about a room for the night so he can get his car fixed. I love these two characters as Keya has a super since of humor and Rhett is very proper. The give and take was good between them and there is just the right amount of romance and steam. Good Story. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Omg this was so boring. The premise was good and I was excited to see where this was going to go. A nudist colony even. And it fell flat at about 30 something percent.
I couldn’t connect with the characters and thus didn’t care. Keya annoyed me.
I skimmed the intimate scenes. One whole chapter was the first intimate encounter and it was a snore.

I’m supposed to believe these two have a connection, but that was never conveyed properly for me to believe.

Oh and Keya getting on her knees to give a desperate BJ was so gross and cringe. She was literally another woman who threw themselves at Rhett. And she has little to no experience sexually so why do this. The motivation was cringeyyyyy.

Pit Stop is another addictive story by Cassie Mint. The chemistry between Rhett and Keya was off the charts hot. Rhett Rockwell is a billionaire that refuses to fly so he sets out driving his red convertible on a long road trip. When he has car trouble he ends up at the Honeycomb Hideaway where he meets Keya. Desperately needing money to keep the Hideaway in business Keya rents him a room when he assumes the Hideaway is a hotel. As they spend time together Rhett realizes he doesn't to leave Keya. Can he convince her they belong together? 5 stars.

A random romance I picked up from KU while I was travelling / waiting in lines - I figured this would be simple enough read. However, this might have been detrimental to my read as well, since I was pretty distracted while reading this.

Despite the short length of this I kind of lost interest in this about halfway through. I probably would have enjoyed this if I had read it straight through but as it stands - this was ok, kind of cute but nothing really engaging. I mean I glazed over the smut - which is kind of the point here.

Ah well - onwards...

STORY
---------
Rhett is a billionaire who travels with his car and strands in the desert.
So he lands in the Honeycomb Hideaway, which he think is a hotel, but it`s a beekeeping vusiness, where Keya tries to keep her Nanas business.

MY OPINON:
-------------
It was a nice story, fun, although there could have been more things better developed.
I liked their banter, how she sended him to a nudist colonie.
But how she clinged to him, how he turned and handled over his business,.... that was so unrealistic....

That`s why only 2 stars.
