Read this before I was on goodreads but still feel ick over the premise. The heroine makes a sextape with the hero without his consent (hidden camera) with the intent to send it to her ex to make him jealous. She doesn’t send it but doesn’t delete it either and keeps it on her cloud for two years. She then starts dating the hero and finds out his reputation is incredibly important to him because he supports his family back home. Back home is South Africa and he is a biracial man so has dealt with terrible racism his whole life. His reputation is everything to him and yet SHE STILL DOESN’T DELETE THE VIDEO! It ends up on the internet because her evil stepsister finds it and causes significant career damage to this soccer player. This is SA and probably a crime so not exactly a funny, haha premise for a romcom.

The hero was such a sweetie too and deserved way better than this stupid af heroine.
How can anyone root for these two to be together after the FMC sexually assaults the MMC. Can we please stop with this shit? Skip this one.

Payback was my first book by Amy Daws and I’m looking forward to reading more- especially about those Harris brothers! I thought this was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the writing style.

Allie Harris has had a rough go of it recently. Her long term relationship ended in the worst way you could imagine. Nothing is worse than a cheating ex, except maybe if they cheat with someone close to you. Allie went to England to visit family for a wedding and comes up with a plan it’s not the brightest plan, but at the time, she only has revenge on the mind.

Roan Dewalt unknowingly takes part in this plan. He and Allie have a beyond memorable night and then they don’t see each other for about 2 years. Allie then moves from Chicago to London and she and Roan reconnect. Things between them are amazing, but Allie has this secret she’s been holding on to for years, and she’s terrified to let it out

Honestly, there were times I thought this was going to be a 5 star book because I just loved the heck out of it, but then there were times I wanted to rate it a 3 or below because Ultimately, I was satisfied by the way it was handled and went with a 4.

This book was narrated by Aaron Shedlock and Erin Mallon with multi-cast performances by Will Watt and Charlotte Cole. It was so cool to not only have duet narration for the main characters, but have a full cast for all the secondary characters. Audio books are my favorite way to read anymore and when the narration is so good, it makes the listening that much better!

Overall, this was a highly entertaining read that was sexy, fun, and romantic. I loved the hero and the setting of the story so much. I can’t wait to read more from this series.

This one made me mad, folks. Why? Because it’s a well-written, funny book with a hot, hot, HOT hero that seems like a genuinely hard-working, nice guy, and the heroine is...a complete twatwaffle that I hated with the fire of a thousand suns.

Plot overview: Allie seeks to get revenge on her cheating ex by filming herself having a hot one-night stand with football star Roan. A sex tape scandel ensues.

The plot was right there in the blurb, and I should have read it before downloading. But I usually really like this author, and I downloaded without question. Big mistake.

My problems with this entire plot, and Allie as a character, are two-fold:

1. You SERIOUSLY thought the best way to get even with a cheating ex was to film yourself having a one-night stand with a hot stranger? That’s REALLY the best you can come up with? Not only is that an irresponsible and completely immature plan, but it never occured to you that if you sent a sex tape to a dude who has proven himself to be a lying, deceitful jackass that he—or the chick he cheated on you with—might do something bad with said sex tape? Like maybe distribute it? You’re an idiot, Allie.

2. Let’s assume for the sake of argument that it had been Roan who filmed himself having sex with Allie without her permission. That would be gross and unforgivable and we’d want him strung up by the balls, wouldn’t we, ladies? It’s an unconscionable violation of trust! So, why should we root for a heroine who did that VERY thing to a man? I don’t believe in double standards, and Allie doesn’t deserve a happily ever after with Roan after what she did to him. She could’ve ruined his career—his LIFE—by distributing that film (accident or not), and for what? A stupid, half-baked revenge plot against a dude who shouldn’t even matter to Allie anymore? It’s disgusting and it made me hate Allie as a character WAY too much to be able to read more of her story. She doesn’t deserve Roan.

So, I DNFd with extreme prejudice. It won’t stop me from reading the author’s work going forward, because like I said, I’ve enjoyed her other books. But this one was a big ole NOPE for me. Allie can eff all the way off.

And don't forget to check out the Romance Rehab blog for more rants, raves, book lists, and other fun romance-y stuff:

4.5 The Chemistry was Real Stars
* * * * 1/2 Spoiler Free
Daws does it for me...every time. I found her not through The Harris Brothers series but through her book, Wait With Me. I loved it totally and then devoured Next In Line when it was released. It was after those positive experiences, I found out about those sexy, hot Harris brothers, and their families.

Well, when I had the chance to read Payback, I asked pretty please and was thrilled for the opportunity. This book has it all:

A woman who needs some rebound naughty goodness to wipe out a past ex who cheated with her bestie...
A man who has wit, charm, and the ability to give naughty as good as anyone around...
A major dose of all the Harris Bros and how wacky, sexy, and fun they are...
And a story of how to overcome mistakes and have forgiveness which opens the door to love everlasting...

Not too shabby, right...
Oh, and did I happen to mention the chemistry between these two is off the charts and oh so very yummy...

Well, it all was, and even though there was a plot point that did not ring my bell...The writing and character development worked and I was able to go with it.

This has a very strong flow to it and I did not want to stop reading...just like all of my Amy Daws reads... so get crackin', get the book, and fall for this man, these Harris Bros, and the cute cousin they all want to look out for and love.

I was so close to dnfing this book at 87% mark, so close..but then I am using this for a challenge read so there is that..onward we go..

listen if the shit the heroine of this book pulled was done by a hero there would be pitchforks hunting and poring of outrage so let me say NO to double standards..

heroine Allie is a cousin to all other Harris brothers that this series is about. She lives in Chicago with her boyfriend of five years. She is 24 years old. One day she finds her boyfriend and roommate/stepsister in bed together. Of course, she is hurt and goes to London for an aunt's wedding and is looking for a rebound. She also wants revenge against the boyfriend. So her "brilliant plan" is to have sex with a stranger, give him a striptease, and film it. Then send it to her ex to make him jealous and regret hurting her. So far so good. Am I right or what? Talk about excellent thinking.

So the hero of the book, Roan doesn't know of this plan. See my reason for outrage. He didn't consent to be filmed and sent to the everlasting web life. Because you can guess that this will go out. She never considered deleting this. For two years!! I can even understand her lack of reason when she did it and excuse her stupidity then but what about the next two years.

this was a stupid plan from the get-go..imagine planning to send an incriminating video of yourself to the person who did you wrong and doesn't give a shit about you.

she didn't send it but the evil stepsister found it on her cloud and sent it to the world...

anyway, he gets mad, they fight, he forgives her, they are in love...happy end!!

if anything this can be a cautionary tale!!

Payback is live and I'm so so excited for everyone to meet Allie Harris and Roan DeWalt! This was a story I wasn't for sure going to write but when these two blew up in my mind, I basically had to see them through to the end! Payback is a 90,000 word full length novel about a South African striker who plays alongside the infamous Harris brothers. When his teammate's cousin comes to town and propositions him for a one-night-stand, Roan knows it's a bad idea. But that spark between the two of them makes bad ideas suddenly sound very good.

Strange but good revenge story!

This was a pretty good story but there were parts that were sort of predictable. Alice flies to London for a family wedding after finding her boyfriend and her step-sister/roommate/best friend in bed together (her bed). So she is determined to have a one night stand and she wants to get back at the ex by filming the beginning striptease part between her and the guy to make the ex jealous.

However, when she tries to hit the stop recording button, it doesn’t stop and she gets the entire experience on film. Fast forward two years later and Alice moves to London and sees her One night stand, Roan again. He still plays for the professional soccer (or as the English say “football) team that her Uncle coaches and Cousin plays for. She has kept the video on her phone and watches it often but feels guilty about it when she starts dating Roan. Especially since he has a very good reputation and something like that coming out could ruin him.

The book is good, but you can see exactly where this is going even after she deletes the video. Though like me, you have to read the book to find out more. The romance between Roan and Alice is good though a bit tame. Her family is pretty funny. I laughed out loud a few times throughout the book.

Allie makes a sex video, unbeknownst to Roan, of them going at it hot and heavy in some cockamamie plan of hers to get revenge on her ex-boyfriend who cheated on her with her ex-stepsister/ex-best friend.

Two years later, H and h’s paths cross again and they fall in love. But gasp! The sex video (which she never deleted bec it was a deeply profound moment of her with the hero *rolls eyes*) is leaked to the public (on a porn site!!) by evil ex-stepsister/ex-best friend. Drama, angst, mortification, blame, and regret ensue. But somehow, even amidst Allie’s stupid decisions and actions, they patch things up and get their HEA.

***

I don’t understand how this book got/gets as many high ratings as it did/does. Maybe it’s me because I didn’t like Allie. At all.

Who does stuff like this woman??? And my real life boyfriend (back when I was the heroine’s age) cheated on me too. Not with a stepsister (don’t have one) or my best friend. But still, he cheated on me for a good while. When I found out, I was deeply hurt by the whole experience. It was painful and awful; but I never thought, ooh let’s make a striptease-turned-full-on-sex video with a hot, hot guy so that “people will know that I’m not broken and pathetic. WTH?!

I couldn’t understand her thought processes or why she made the decisions she did. I couldn’t connect to her at all. Moreover, I didn’t respect her.

Frankly, I think Roan deserved better.

The only saving grace of this book for me was getting to see the rest of the Harris’s. They’ve got a lot of scenes! 85% of this book occurs 2 years later and everyone has grown.... So if you’re a fan of Vi, Gareth, Tanner, Camden, and/or Booker, this book is like one long extended epilogue.

Amy Daws is back with another Harris book not a brother this time but a cousin! You can’t even imagine how excited I was before reading Payback! I dreamt for another book in the Harris brothers world and she made this wish come true! Thank you Amy

In true Amy’s style, Roan & Allie’s story caught me right away! There’s not a minute I didn’t want to take the book, keep reading and forget about reality. Roan & Allie are like the yin and the yang. They are quite opposite to each other but they complete one another fantastically! Their chemistry was instant; the attraction is off the charts and their banter was so funny! I was rooting for them right away! The path to HEA is not an easy one, the major problem was the payback Allie put in place but Amy Daws manage to make one of my pet peeves when reading into something truly emotional and beautiful.

As I turned the pages, Roan and Allie constantly captured my heart. The place of the family is an important part of the book. Where do you belong? What it means to be part of family. The Harris brothers are close and it was pure joy to be in their close circle. The famous Harris Shakedown is back and I really hope we are not done with all of them yet! I never want to say goodbye to this incredible bunch of guys and the family they create.

Payback was everything I didn’t know I needed! I didn’t read the blurb, I went in blind because I trust Amy with all my heart. I know she’ll embark me in a fantastic journey filled with joy, pain but mostly love.

DNF @ 24%

I like this author and have loved this series, so I just downloaded the next without reading the blurb. And... what the actual fuck, you guys?! How are people not raging about this?

The FMC is a selfish, vapid bitch. She makes a sex tape with the MMC without his fucking consent.

Firstly, her plan is literally batshit stupid: send a SEX TAPE FEATURING YOURSELF to the fucking two people who betrayed you as payback? What? Does your pea-sized brain not imagine for even a goddamn minute that they would do something horrible with it??

Secondly, doing that without his consent is fucking monstrous. It is a violation. It is potentially career-ending and life-ruining for him. But she doesn't give a single goddamn fuck, because she's a horrible fucking human being who should be put in jail.

People, if the sexes were reversed - if HE recorded a nonconsensual sex tape with HER - people would be screaming down the roof, and rightfully so. What's with the fucking double standard?

This is not hot, it's not cute. I can see how it's going to blow up in their faces and the protective Harris family will make me angry by blaming the victim here and not their complete asshole family member, and I am just not here for it.

No. Just no.

WELCOME HOME FROM PRISON, COUSIN ALICE.

It’s always good to be in the Harris world, and Payback was no exception. Alice is the distant Harris cousin who had lived in America for most of her life. She comes across the pond for a family wedding after a bad break up and has a plan to get a little payback. Cue up one Roan DeWalt. Hot South African footballer who she plans to use to show her ex what’s what. Too bad Roan is more than some random hottie to use, and for the next two years both of them are thinking about the ONS that got away. That is until Alice moves back across the pond for a fresh start, some Harris family loving, and maybe a tiny bit to see Roan again.

Thus ensues this super sweet, funny, sexy, and a little bit tense read. Amy Daws always does an amazing job writing books that are fun and sexy, but have parts that will hit you in the feels box. Payback includes all three and then some. The characters are not perfect and at times make some iffy decisions, but in the end the Harris family and love prevail. Such a good read. Fun to dive back in with the Harris family, and even better to just get a good moderately angsty love story.

Can we have more Mrs. Daws? Can you promise to randomly give us bits of this world forever? Real or fake?

Format: Audiobook

Source: Whispersync/KU

Prompt: Impromptu Amy Daws marathon

Triggers: sex tape made without consent, family drama, cheating (heroine’s ex)

TL;DR Synopsis:
 Contemporary sports romance (soccer/football)
 Romcom
 Awesome meetcute
 Revenge sex turned relationship
 Dapper hero
 Grand gesture
 Badass heroine
 Full cast narration audio

Listen, I know that the heroine’s reaction to her boyfriend of 5 years cheating on her with her step sister/roommate was not the “right thing to do, but damn it was satisfying to read about for SO MANY reasons. And, man, I wish she got away with it. But I digress.

I fell so deeply in love with Roan and how smooth he was without being douchey. I love that he had every intention of being a gentleman until Allie was like, “Yeah, pass, that’s not what we’re here for, and he’s all, “Hold please, let me switch gears here. SUCH a great premise.

I kind of have a thing for vengeful heroines, and that’s exactly what Allie is in this book. I know it wasn’t a great idea for her to make a sextape with an unknowing stranger with the intent to send it to her cheating ex, but, like, I also don’t blame her.

I did actually really like how the video made HER feel sexy when she went back and watched it.
Also, I realize I read this entire series out of order, but I’m not mad about it and I promise I’m going back and reading them in order, especially because the audiobooks are available on Whisper Sync/KU which means if you add the KU book to your library, the audio is under $8.

SPEAKING OF AUDIO I 100% read this book because at the end of Blindsided, Will Watt told me to. He said the magic words “full cast narration. That’s right. A romance novel with a FULL FREAKING CAST. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Amy Daws for caring about us audiobook listeners.

Anyway, I’m in an Amy Daws/Harrison Brothers Marathon and it’s not ending anytime soon. No regrets.

I knew it. It’s happened. Amy Daws has killed me dead with her audiobook for Payback. This multi-cast narrated audio was not one thing short of fucking awesome. Yes, FUCKING AWESOME. I listened to it twice. TWICE. I completely ignored my responsibilities and family because this audio was better than them. Jk! I love them and whatever, but this audiobook was beyond credit worthy. Once again bare with me as I fucking fangirl the entire way through this review. Like zero chill up ahead.

The story was fantastic when I read it the first time, but it pales in comparison to it coming so perfectly to life with the help of Aaron Shedlock, Erin Mallon, Will Watt, and Charlotte Cole. I was beyond overjoyed when I learned Will Watt and Charlotte Cole would be reprising their roles in the series because they are amazing, cannot be replaced and their narrating chemistry is perfection at this point. I mean, Will and Lottie were the reason I fell in love with this series in the first place! (*whisper-yells* I love you, Will!)

But oh my god can we talk about Aaron Shedlock as Roan. OOHMAHGAWD his narration and South African accent in this book did things to me. Delicious, tingly things to me. His performance was scrumptious. It was lick-a-giant-ice-cone-on-Fourth-of-July-with-triple-digit-heat-in-middle-of-the-desert satisfying. Never has my husband been more overjoyed at me listening to an audiobook than he was with Payback. *wink* Then we have Erin Mallon. I mean, it’s freaking Erin Mallon. The woman could say ‘hi in her regular or male voice and it could win awards. Enough said. She’s basically the female audio-unicorn.

You guys! Seriously, this was so so good. Hilarious, addictive, had all the feels, and a cast of narrators that I never knew I absofuckinglutely needed in my audio life!! And did I mention Aaron Shedlock’s accent is amazing? GET THIS! Listen. Over and over and over. It’s the audiobook that keeps on giving.

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

There's nothing like the feeling of a new book announcement for a series which was technically supposed to be complete. The Harris Brothers series is one of my absolute faves, this family has totally stolen my heart. So when Amy announced that there was going to be more Harris family? Holy moly, I was excited.

Allie is the Harris's cousin, and our female lead. Roan DeWalt is our male lead, and we have previously met him, if only briefly, in the Harris boys books. These two have instant chemistry and I was keen to see how their story would play out, from the minute they met.

Allie is a very easy to like main female lead, and Roan is damned adorable. Once these two finally get together, I just love everything about them. And there are so many moments with our favourite Harris family, that it feels just like being home. Because these characters have truly made their marks on my heart.

We also got a couple of new-ish secondary characters in their friendship circle, and let me tell you I really want them to get a book too. Anything else in this series really, I just want more and I will never say no.

Loved this one so much, it had great characters, great chemistry (sizzling sexy time scenes), and a perfect ending. Can't wait to see what we get next from Amy.

Another Harris member, this time Allie is in the limelight becuse of her sex tape blunder with Bethenel Green Player, Roan De Walt
It's a sweet, funny story with the truckload of Harris clan.in fact the focus often shifts from main couple to the crowd around them. Even when on a date they're talking about the Harris family, which was confusing and distracting for me
But I enjoyed the audio book and you would too

Another Harris gal. Yeah! Cousin, Allie, was raised in the US but after a terrible betrayal she flees to her homeland and the family she hasn’t seen in years. A devious plan for payback, a willing football hunk, and a newly confident Allie is a combo for disaster two years in the making. It’s no surprise where this storyline is going but it’s so much fun and so so sexy getting there. Roan is a wonderful, sexy hero and a boss in the bedroom. So perfect in his family first commitment and low key personality. No groupies or fast living for him. His pursuit of Allie was so sweet and swoon worthy. What was wrong with that girl? I really wasn’t getting her resistance based on her one fail at honesty but you have to admire her moral fortitude. Loved catching up with the crazy funny Harris family. And what a hoot Mac and Freya are. Can’t wait for their story. Love this author’s writing with her fabulous characters, great family and friends, funny bits and steamy romance. Amy Daws is back with another Harris book - but this one the main character is their female cousin!! If you have never read any of her Harris Brothers books, do not worry, this one can be read as a complete standalone. But you do get glimpses of the Harris brothers, which will just have you wanting to go read their books next.

The blurb for this book is pretty much all you need to know going into this book. If I tell you any other tidbits of the plot, I would be pretty much surmising the book for you and that is just not cool.

I love the way Amy brings life to her stories. Amy's characters are always relatable and real. I love how we see growth in Allie and how she handles herself. Roan is just WOW. That man is definitely one-of-a-kind. His pursuit of Allie and how he treats her is just out-of-this-world amazing.

I loved so much about this book. I laughed, a lot, and even teared up a bit. I know that with every book that Amy writes, I am going to be living in the characters' shoes and I love that. It makes the book that more authentic and real.

I highly recommend Payback - whether it be your first Amy Daws book, your first Harris Brothers read or a continued fan of of Amy's - you will enjoy this book so much.

5 SKIPPING CROWNS

Amy Daws + The Harris family = complete romcom, dramady perfection! I love this family, and I don’t think a day will ever come when that changes. As a result, I never want it to end. EVER.

Roan DeWalt....swoon. Omg! I love him. His sweet nature, his uncharacteristic good boy athlete persona, the way he wants to take care of his family. THE WAY HE LOVES ALLIE. I’m just here for all of it. Every single delicious bit of this man.

Allie is a bit of a mess in this book, understandably so. She makes bad choices that have disastrous outcomes, but like any good family, she has people who rally for her, who show her one mistake doesn’t define her. I enjoyed her evolution as a character and reveled not just in her HEA with Roan but that she achieved a HEA with herself.

Charming. Delightful. Hilarious. This story has it all. The chemistry between the H and h is equal parts emotional and physical. It has the comedic moments we expect from the Harris family and Amy Daws, and for fans of the series, we get to see moments with the family we have come to love. While the conflict is very much clear based on foreshadowing and inferences placed throughout, it did not lessen my enjoyment in any way. I couldn’t get enough. And that ending. I was smiling like a loon.

This series of standalones is just perfection. The crazy Harris family never fails to entertain me. With every book, I fall in love with the couple just as much as I fall in love with the family! Roan and Allie are just the metaphorical cherry on top of my very favorite cake.

Wow 😍😍😍!

This is the first book I've read from Amy Daws, and I'm pretty amazed. She did a really great job with this book and brought us a well-written story.

Once you start reading "Payback" you can't put this book down till the end 😉.

Allie and Roan are so beautiful characters. I fell in love with them from the first second I've started reading the story.

Their love shows us that nothing in this world can't break true love. Because if you love somebody with your whole heart then you can forgive them their mistakes, however, huge they are.

If you love reading sports romance, then you need to read this book.

P. S. I can't wait to read the whole series from the beginning and get my paperback edition of "Payback" !

There is no greater reading joy then the joy I find in every Amy Daws book I read, especially when a Harris is involved!

Roan and Allie are unconventional, crazy, quirky and hilarious! From start to finish I laughed, I cried and a defiantly skipped with joy! Their story sucked me in and didn’t let me go till the end and I am dying for more! I seriously can’t get enough of the Harris clan and my goodness I WANT ANOTHER ONE! This family has burrowed deep into my heart and Payback has sealed them there forever!

Roan is confident and ambitious! His family is his world and he’d do anything to make sure they are taken care of! Allie doesn’t know what it feels like to have the deep loyalty of family! She’s made adjustments in her life to get by but after a devastating heartbreak she wants MORE! When she finally finds the more she’s always wanted she fears it’ll all be taken away and she just might be right!

ARC received for an honest review

Move over Harris' boys (not my Clarke man though) because there is another football star headed our way, and he is sure going to give you a run for your money!

We have quickly met sexy Roan DeWalt in the Surrender/Dominate books, and boy oh boy was I excited when this pretty arrived on my Kindle.

Is pretty the right word? No, actually I think #sexyarmporn is the word I was looking for hahahq!

I was sad when the Harris brothers series came to an end - I mean, really, how was I ever going to get more of My Hayden (who isn't a Harris btw but a Clarke!).

Then Ms Daws announced this spin off series, which has just enough of the Harris brothers, but now widening the scope and having a Harris cousin!

I didn't read the original short story that had our sexy South African and Allie Harris - however that does not matter, as it is all covered in this story.

Oh how does that Roan make me swoon! Seriously swoon. I don't want to give anything away. however this man, from the minute I met him was just everything.

I loved seeing the personal growth in Allie as the story progresses. She was so down on herself and her family at first, but watching her grow to realise that it is not her, it is them that are the ones not worthy made me smile.

I also love love loved seeing the man that Vaughn Harris has become since the beginning of the Harris Brothers series, and in particular Surrender/Dominate.

Sigh, I was in a quandry with this book. I wanted to devour it, needing to know what would happen next, however I wanted to savour it, as I love all of Amy Daws' words.

Now I just hope she doesn't keep me waiting for ever for more words. Is it time for Sedate With Me yet??

I just couldn't give this book more than 1 star and that was solely because of Allie Harris! THE worse heroine I have read in a long-arse time. I LOATHED her with a vengeance.

Don't get me started on the sex tape she needed a good smack in the face!

So, if you haven't read any of Amy's Harris Brother's books (and why the hell wouldn't you?!) then you won't be at all excited to know that this book is the LONG AWAITED cousin Alice's story.

When Amy announced she was giving Allie a book, I was SO excited. Not only because she teased us with a little preview last year in the KU Korner, and not just because we get taken back to the world full of the Harris brothers, but because we would get more of sexy South African Footballer Roan DeWalt. Let me tell you, Roan gives those Harris boys a run for their money!

I love every single thing about this book. From Allies funny little idiosyncrasies, to Roan's closely guarded private life, to the Harris Brothers natural inclination to butt into everything she does. In true Amy style, she delivers the perfect mixture of romance, comedy and those moments that make your heart start to break, before she pieces it back together again. Throw in an epic Harris Shakedown and you have yourself an incredible story that you won't want to end.

I love Roan. I love Allie. I love that they are so opposite, but work so freaking well together. I love that this is a complete stand-alone and you can pick it up and read it without having read the Harris Brothers Series (but you're going to want to anyway!) I can't wait to see who Amy brings us next, and I can only hope we see more of these two in the future.

This book started off like a rocket igniting, it was fricking hot but also set off on one hell of a ride. Somewhere along the way I started to get a bit jaded, convinced this was such a predictable trope following a predictable pattern, I wasn’t honestly sure I was going to continue reading on. But I did read on, I was touched by the sincerity of the torment and vindictiveness and support...hell all the emotions. I don’t often cry, but I surly did shed tears, but I also laughed and smiled. I really liked this one, sometimes it’s good to turn off my “know it all, figures it all out brain off and just be in the story.

Oh my gosh! Allie Harris is actually one of my all time favourite women I have ever read about. I love her!

ARC received in exchange for an honest review

So, the moment I seen Amy reveal there was going to be a new Harris family book I was super excited and then I found out it was a Harris cousin and I was intrigued. I absolutely adore the Harris family so getting to know their cousin was really quite exciting. I knew it was going to be amazing, I knew it was going to captivate me but what I didn’t expect was how freaking incredible this book was going to be and I’m in awe right now, just wow.

Allie Harris is trying to overcome a bad break up by having a fun, sexy night with a stranger for payback but what she didn’t expect is the repercussions that could possibly follow that payback. We all expected something to happen, what we didn’t expect was the amount of feelings that we would endure.

Roan DeWalt I didn’t expect to fall for him as much as I did but his charm and his devotion and the fierce way he loves the ones closest to him had me melting into a puddle. That guy is everything you hope for in a man and extremely good under the sheets. What an absolute charmer.

Watching these two from the very first meet has been scorching hot, the chemistry between these two is off the charts. They work so well together and damn, I’m in love with these two, yes, yes I am!

Amy Daws NEVER fails to blow me away with her Harris family, their stories just get better and better. The Harris family will forever be stuck in my heart, they’re the kind of people once can never forget and I’m forever thankful to Amy for bringing these characters to life.

Payback is fun, extremely sexy with a dash of heartbreak. This book was capture you from the beginning and hold you hostage until the end. It’s a book you 100% NEED to have on your kindle and is without a doubt one of the best reads of 2019 hands down.

OH! The ANGST!! From the moment Allie clicks record on that video, my heart was in my throat waiting for the other shoe to drop!!!

This story was one that I wanted to rush through to find out what happens, but it was SO GOOD that I just needed to read slowly and savor every bit of it!!

“I roll my eyes, annoyed that he has me right where he wants me. Jutting out my chin, I press my finger to his chest and say, “Well, I’m a Harris. You don’t even want to know what we’re made of.

Payback on audiobook is amazing! All I can say is you don’t know what you are missing until you hear Roan DeWalt brought to life by the swoony voice of Aaron Shedlock!!

It was so good being back in the Harris Brother's (and sister) world. I remember Roan from previous books, but this time the spot light was on him and Harris cousin Allie.

Immediately this book hooked me. From the "warm welcome" Allie received in the beginning to the very awesome end. Once again Amy Daws amazed me with her wonderfully well written characters. Allie and Roan were impossible to not love. I fell in love with these two just as I have with every other character she's ever written. But that's just a testament to how good she is. This book had me feeling so much. Humor, happiness and even moments of sadness and anger. But it was so well written and just flows so well you find it hard to put it down to do adult life things.

I highly recommend this story and cannot wait to listen to it again on audio.
