i am a regular reader of zia hassan's post in fb. I was awaiting eagerly to read this. Being in Canada it was quite a challenge to get it in hand. I finally finished it. This is as important as his regular commentary on BD. He did an awesome job in explaining underlying weakness of BD economy. The first 100 pages were just too good. In the next 100, it became little monotonous because we actually would not need so many graph to prove his hypothesis since he has already established that in the first half of the book. It did pick up the pace by the Third act. Great thing is that a second part is coming. It would be amazing if he can give us the real numbers rather than the sham ones used to hide everything.
Strong write-up with lot of evidences regarding author's conclusion about the economy of Bangladesh. However, some explanations seemed to be mundane and verbose. Full of graphs, charts and numbers which could be excluded for easy-read. Personally I would love to see if author could do some devil's advocacy to his own opinion while bringing the facts and evidences towards some of the positive changes of the economy as well.
