Lenny Primrose is a puppet.
A temptress sent to make my life bloody miserable.
Adored by the public and used for her father’s benefit.
Every man wants her, and every woman wants to be her.
She’s good for my reputation.
That’s the only reason I agree to the little devil’s proposal.
I’m game.
Willing to play pretend to get what I want.
Until what I want is her.
Now, there are no rules.
I’ll wage a war against the world just to keep her.

Even the deadliest men have their vices, and she happens to be mine.

*** *Oaths and Omissions is a full-length, standalone, dark contemporary romance inspired by the Helen of Troy myth. It is NOT fantasy or a literal retelling. If you’re not a reader of the genre, this book may not be suitable for you. Reader discretion is advised.

Probably my favourite couple in the series ever! I love Jonas and Lenny but then the execution of this book doesn't give them justice.

I feel like they were a lot of stalling and focuses more on their past and relationship growth, which is very much appreciated, but I wanted more in the plot and romance department.

Also Peston can go dig his own grave!!

Sav’s Monsters & Muses series honestly just keeps getting better and better with each new installment. I think Jonas is my new favorite of her heroes in this series. I might even be enough of a Jonas simp to add him to my book bf hall of fame.

Lenny wants to get out from under her fathers thumb, Jonas wants to destroy Lenny’s father for his part in his own fathers death. Enter: fake relationship to piss everyone off. Except, it doesn’t end up being so fake, does it?

Jonas is a killer for hire, used to a very solitary lifestyle. Lenny comes into his life like a shooting star, fucking up his routine in the best ways. Jonas and Lenny are well matched, complimenting each other with both their similarities and differences. And Jonas falls first, which is something I always LOVE to see.

Spice wise, this was some of Sav’s best work. The mouth on that man, good lord. If it was possible to get pregnant via reading, Jonas dirty talk would be the way to achieve it.

“I want to eat it. I want to spend breakfast, lunch, and dinner drenching my chin between your thighs, doing my best to get my fill of you.
“And when I’ve gotten my fill—a great feat, mind you, because I don’t think I’ll ever not be starved for your taste—I’ll spread you out, tie you to my headboard, and fuck you full of me.

i just hate false advertising. i’m not as triggered as i was during the second book bc now i know not to trust this author. i don’t understand the need to call this book “dark when its all fluff and more fluff.

this is why i hate booktok authors, they always wanna add stupid tropes so that that one scene is featured in a video. this book had so much potential. actual chemistry but wtf?? WHERE WAS THE DARKNESS?

even though i loved the couple, cough cough, jones wolfe, i found the whole book boring. i kept waiting for the shoe to drop but nothing happened. it was all at the same exact pace. there wasn’t a peak there wasn’t anything. there wasn’t any sexual tension between them. they just got together. even though i loved how wolfe communicated, it wasn’t enough to make me love him more than kal. even the subplot happening with her past was so obvious and just ugh idk i'm very underwhelmed. i didn't set any high expectation for this book but its still disappointing.

I really enjoyed this story! It was such an easy read, and oh my Jonas... where can I find a man like him? He’s swoon-worthy, and the slow-burn romance between him and Lenny had me hooked. Both a little dark, both a little broken, and both completely drawn to each other. Jonas tried so hard to resist, but Lenny knocked down his walls one by one, and I loved every second of it. His protective instincts made my heart melt, even when he wasn’t sure of his own feelings.

I loved the fake dating, the intense "touch her and die" vibes, and the possessive alpha energy. All the things I love! The only thing I wish we got more of was Lenny working through her trauma. We got some glimpses, but I would’ve loved to see more of her emotional journey. Still, it didn’t take away from the story. I just couldn’t connect with her as much as I hoped.

But overall? LOVED. Would read again. And I’ll never look at a paintbrush the same way again iykyk.

excited to read this! Decided to put a 5-star rating in because another user put a one in hopes of balancing it out. It would be a different situation if the ARC was out, I hate the thought of readers being dissuaded from reading this amazing series because it was poorly rated prior to being released.

Okay, this was deffo the best one in the series so far. Jonas was fantastic, despite his overuse of the word ‘bloody (it came up 84 times - yes, I checked) and I actually really like Lenny as well. Their dynamic was interesting, especially as it gets domestic throughout the book, and their smut is pretty fucking hot, no lie. The only reason why I'm hesitant to give this a four star rating is because the plot just wasn’t strong enough; it wasn’t strong enough in a way that the promised ‘war in the synopsis was left (again) to the last 10% (which meant you have to bear through 90% of stagnancy) and it wasn’t strong enough as in the climb to the climax was drawn out too much and the fall that comes after was too short/unsatisfying. It feels like Sav’s pattern at this point to leave the third act problem to the last sixty pages or so, and while that doesn’t discount her skill as a writer in any way, I do wish she’d bring the drama forward slightly just so we experience the tension a little bit longer. But, what I do love was how much darker this story felt compared to the first book (I'm eternally disappointed by P&P because Kal.... wasn't as much of a Dr. Death as I expected him to be......) I love how Jonas was a lot more brutal, and Lenny is not that innocent either. So it was a great read overall and I think I’m actually going to continue reading the series just because apart from the Dark Olympus series, this is the only other dark romance that touches on greek myths which is always a yes for me. Would recommend this for readers who prefer character-focused books as opposed to plot-focused ones!

I love this book so much. This might be my favorite book of the whole series. The plot is crazy but still very enjoyable and the romance if amazing. The plot was off the walls which some people might not like but I personally loved that it was off the walls. It kept me on my toes for the last 50 pages. I adored it.

I can definitely see this EASILY being my favorite book of the series even though there is still 3 more books to go.

Jonas Wolfe is my new found obsession, his entire personality was everything. I didn’t know I needed a tall sexy flirtatious British assassin book boyfriend in my life until now and I honestly couldn’t be happier 😭. I loved how he was with Lenny the entire time, he was the sweetest, the way he got back at everyone who hurt her without her even having to ask was everythingggg. And OMG every time he called her “love I was literally giggling, kicking my feet and smiling so hard my checks hurt😫. I simply couldn’t get enough of him.

Lenny was such a fun fmc, her and Jonas are definitely the perfect fit. I found her entertaining and she was so strong after everything she had gone through, I just wanted to give her a big hug.

The story itself was really well written I enjoyed it a lot and I didn’t get bored at all. The pacing was really good and I didn’t feel as though it was rushed or dragged. This book made me remember why I LOVE the fake dating trope soooo much, the possessiveness and tension was amazing, I don’t often get the feeling of wanting to reread a book right after I finish it but after finishing this I already want to re start it 😭.

(Btw this is a Tom aka Lenny’s dad hate account and don’t even get me started on Preston, I could’ve guessed I was gonna hate him based off his preppy ass name 🙄)

Anyways Jonas will now be living rent free in my head for the foreseeable future and I don’t even mind it cause I love that man🫶ðŸ¾

Sav R. Miller (Monsters & Muses, #3)

"This is exactly where you belong, love."

Jonas Wolfe and Lenny Primrose sign a mutual agreement–embark on a fake arrangement to get back at the monsters of their past. Only, real feelings get in the way of revenge, delving into a complicated story of twisted deception.

So... this might have just dragged me out of my book slump. Transparently, I was very skeptical of this book because I really did not like the first book in this series, , at all. The reason why I read this book anyway was because of the 1) fake relationship trope and 2) Sav R Miller's writing is literally so good that I'm constantly in awe of it. I have genuinely not enjoyed writing the way I have enjoyed hers in a very long time.

Lenny is a sheltered princess who has never really been able to live her own life because of the expectations her family has of her. Her entire life has just been a cumulation of events she's forced to go to strapped to people she's required to interact with. Honestly, her backstory was so heartbreaking. I really did like her so much–a good mix of sweet but with a spine nonetheless.

Jonas Wolfe might have made my list of my favorite book boyfriends. Because oh my god he is literally perfect. This British, possessive, dirty-talking murderer who cares for nothing was honestly such a sweetheart for Lenny only. Everything he did–the shopping sprees, the painting–stole my heart with absolutely no hope of return.

Jonas was the highlight of this book for me, because I adored him with every fiber of my being. Please rail me into the next century, sir, I will thank you for it with my mouth and spread thighs. He calls her love. Don't bang my line, for I am deceased. He's the standard, people. The. Standard.

I don't know when the last time I've enjoyed a dark romance–or a book–like this was. It had everything I wanted from their story, and I only wish I could have seen more more of them and their relationship developing. The literal only reason this wasn't a five-star read was because it took a really long time for the romance in this book to actually pick up. I felt like I only really saw them begin interacting at around the 40% mark, and that's what took me a bit to get into this book. It's a decently plot centered book, which is really well-developed so I can't even complain.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book, honestly. It was such a good read and I'm glad I picked it up randomly. Will never get over the writing–so good.

Kinda a let down after the second one. The plot kinda got lost. Lenny and Jonas have a mutual agreement to fake date (which turns into a fake engagement) but wasn’t really fully executed. Like one of the reasons they got together was for publicity, but I was expecting publicity stunts and more public outings. Yet, a lot of the drama centered on family. The reason why they started as couple became kind of lost (expect the excuse of Lenny being forced to date Preston)

There was so much family drama, it just kept going. I grew bored and uninterested. It felt like there was stalling from the main plot.

Characters would constantly contradict themselves. It quickly became confusing and I had to reread passages several times to make sure I wasn’t the one misinterpreted the text.

Jonas started out the decision of not fucking Lenny. Then in another chapter, he tries flirting with her, trying to have sex. Then the next chapter the idea of have sex with sounds like a bad idea and that he isn’t going to have sex with her.

There is a scene where Lenny is painting and she states: “ð˜ ð˜µð˜©ð˜ªð˜¯ð˜¬ ð˜µð˜° ð˜¤ð˜°ð˜¯ð˜´ð˜ªð˜¥ð˜¦ð˜³ ð˜ºð˜°ð˜¶ð˜³ð˜´ð˜¦ð˜ð˜§ ð˜¢ð˜¯ ð˜¢ð˜³ð˜µð˜ªð˜´ð˜µ, ð˜ºð˜°ð˜¶ ð˜©ð˜¢ð˜·ð˜¦ ð˜µð˜° ð˜©ð˜¢ð˜·ð˜¦ ð˜´ð˜°ð˜ð˜¥ ð˜´ð˜°ð˜®ð˜¦ ð˜°ð˜§ ð˜ºð˜°ð˜¶ð˜³ ð˜¸ð˜°ð˜³ð˜¬.â€

Then a few paragraphs later she says how making money off your art is a modernist way of thinking and the quality and passion is what matters. “ð˜ð˜¢ð˜ ð˜Žð˜°ð˜¨ð˜©, ð˜Œð˜·ð˜¢ ð˜ð˜¦ð˜´ð˜´ð˜¦, ð˜Žð˜¦ð˜³ð˜ªð˜¤ð˜¢ð˜¶ð˜ð˜µ. ð˜ð˜§ ð˜µð˜©ð˜¦ð˜º ð˜¥ð˜ªð˜¥ð˜¯â€™ð˜ ð˜©ð˜¢ð˜·ð˜¦ ð˜µð˜° ð˜´ð˜¦ð˜ð˜ ð˜µð˜©ð˜¦ð˜ªð˜³ ð˜¸ð˜°ð˜³ð˜¬ ð˜ªð˜¯ ð˜µð˜©ð˜¦ð˜ªð˜³ ð˜ð˜ªð˜§ð˜¦ð˜µð˜ªð˜®ð˜¦, ð˜¸ð˜©ð˜º ð˜´ð˜©ð˜°ð˜¶ð˜ð˜¥ ð˜?â€

It quickly became confusing and it took me away from the book.

The way the author writes Jonas voice was almost cartoonish and so comical. Absolutely no British person talks like that. I don’t know how many times he had to say “Bloody or “Blimey or something ridiculous and unrealistic.

In the beginning there is a character death and until halfway through the book, we have no idea who they are until it’s just casually revealed that it’s one of Preston’s friends. Like, it would been nice to know when it was relevant. I was kind thrown off guard by this random character attacking Lenny and we knew so little information about why or who.

Lenny, I kind of didn’t care for her in the beginning. Nothing stuck out to me about her until the climax scene. I actually really like that she was able to take charge like. The ending was probably the best part, and Lenny really rocked it. (Minus the running away scene)

The smut was pretty good. I liked some scenes more than others. It’s definitely a slow burn (well as close as a slow burn Miller will get) so most of the smut was toward the end.

I liked seeing Kal and Elena again. Elena definitely played a bigger role than the second one. Elena and Lenny’s friendship was sweet. I liked the Riley cameo.

I did like Jonas and Lenny, I wanted more scenes together- I feel like some of the family drama took that romantic buildup away.

Overall, not my favorite. Wasn’t interested until the last hundred pages. Although I’m curious how Jonas brother, Alistair, story is going to go. I’m looking forward the next one.

I started this around 10 PM and it’s now nearly 5 AM the next day because I simply could NOT put it down.

WOW.

I’m going to go to sleep and I’ll collect all of my thoughts to review this when I wake up.

But seriously WOW.

Update: let’s talk about it.

I feel like Sav really has her own brand of dark romance. This story was one hell of a ride from start to finish. By no means is it for the weak of heart or stomach. It gets very graphic and violent. Please see the list of CW / TW before reading. It’s not mentioned on the list, but know that there’s quite a few references to a binge eating disorder.

Lenny’s impulsive behaviors and toxic coping mechanisms were something I strongly related to. It felt equally reassuring, healing, and frustrating to see that portrayed in such a raw manner. I was also immediately enthralled with Jonas. That man is deliciously wicked.

I really enjoyed getting the little pieces of precious chargers from the series. The plot kept me hooked the entire time (clearly- I chose it over a night of sleep). The slow burn romance / tension was divine and when it hit? IT HIT HOT!

This book is certainly very niche, but well done nonetheless. Thank you to Give Me Books Promotions and the author for my eARC in exchange for an honest review. Opinions are my own.

Another book full of intensity, beautiful prose, and more than a heaping pile of angst! The tropes of this particular book normally light me on fire- age gap, force proximity, fake relationship- and inspired by a Greek classic. And, I certainly enjoyed it, even if I wanted to be consumed bit it more. The story is certainly infused with the epic tonal quality of its classic inspiration, but the pace was a bit slow for me, with the exposition not quite capturing me at first. Once the relationship takes off, Sav brings all her usual fire, lots of emotional energy and steam. The chemistry was harder fought, but ultimately these two find a path to connect more authentically - just a much slower burn than I anticipated. All in all, another beautifully penned Sav story. <3.5 stars>

“And here we are, finishing wars that never should’ve belonged to us in the first place.

taylor wrote london boy about jonas wolfe.

at first i couldn’t take his name seriously bc of the jonas brothers and all but because i am so brave i got past it in the end.and now i want him

this was so funny and i rly ate it up but also it was so unnecessarily frustrating sometimes. sav rly said let me gatekeep from the readers! like one chapter ended with ..but because i want his truths, i will give him this. and then the next page was a completely different day. WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WIL LGIVE HIM THIS BABYGIRL U HAVE GIVEN HIM NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS!!

anyway i cant believe i thought i hated this series it’s kind of like crack. dark romance but w out being too trashy or badly written like. some other books!!ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ like. they don’t make sense but then they do but then the part that didn’t make sense before still doesn’t really make sense but it’s okay because now new parts are making sense. yk!!! if it all made more sense more often i would give it a higher rating but there’s always that and an element of frustration to everything. she never told jonas the full extent of what happened to her and it kind of felt unresolved bc of that.

i also could not stop imagining Alistair as an old greasy italian i’m sorry

If an author writes a murderous OTT Alphahole, I’ll read it every single time. lol
Jonas is my newest obsession.

Here’s what I loved:
The plot was both heartbreaking yet completely entertaining. I couldn’t get enough.
Both characters are damaged and thrown together due to the most unlikely circumstances.
Sav R Miller knows how to do spice.
The secondary characters are awesome. I’m always down to see more Cal.

Similarly to the previous books in this series, the characters deal with some pretty heavy issues, so check trigger warnings if necessary.

I flat out loved it and Jonas is currently living rent free in my head.

Uuuggh, while I loved this, I really really wanted more from Jonas and Lenny. I really loved the two of them together, and separately. Jonas is perfectly cold and murderous, and Lenny is fierce and feisty.

But damn, she really put up with some crazy shit from her family. Not a fan of that dynamic, though I suppose it resolved itself in the end. My issue with these books is that the couples are all hands off and not into each other until the very last minute of the books and then all of a sudden BAMTHEYREINLOVE.

All that aside, I did really like this book. I just couldn’t feel the love from these two. Which is a shame, because the potential was amazing.

Oaths and Omissions is the exact amount of dark and delicious that I love—and I’m full on obsessed with this world Sav has created.

Fake relationship with a hitman? A hitman who also tried to off your father and has been haunting your family ever since? *chef’s kiss* The chemistry is off the charts and I LOVE stories in which the hero is weak for nobody but the heroine. He falls first, y’all! This book brings it in spades and the spicy scenes are fantastic.

In addition to the romance, Sav always does a fantastic job of creating compelling backstories and larger plots for her characters and this one was great. And of course, you can expect another cast of fascinating side characters (and several Kal + Elena cameos!). I can’t wait for Alistair’s story, those little hints near the end have me intrigued!

Definitely check the content warnings for this whole series, as they are on the darker side of dark, but never fear because there is a great HEA!

2 stars Again with the other books from this series, there’s too many plot holes which made the story goes somewhere else and that it's also not memorable since I forgot most of what happened already. But the smut in this book 🤭 it's actually good ngl.

also whenever the mmc has an accent i would’ve been giggling and all. But somehow Jonas pisses me off from how his constant use of “bloody in every sentence like stop- The only exception was him calling her “love 🫦

The first book in the Monsters & Muses series was significant to me, I think that it is perhaps the best book in the series. The second one disappointed me, falling straight away from the original plot of what the monsters were. However, the third instalment of the series rounds back to this same idea of the mafia and monsters in crime.

Lenny Primrose is a character that has been hinted at throughout the series, her family and its history appearing in the first book briefly. She is the stereotypical golden child, who is put as the face of the family to profit off. However she is different from this, she has a darker side to her nature that should have been explored further. This sadistic side of her personality was swept over briefly when it should have been one of the main vocal points that brought her and Jonas together.

Jonas and Lenny's story follows a similar pattern to that of Elena and Kal's. A rich daughter of a company and a man who has a severe enjoyment of causing others pain, as well as pursuing revenge. Seeing Elena and Kal in each of the books after the first has been great since I really enjoyed how they interacted together as a couple and believed that Elena and Lenny would make great friends.

There seems to be a lot of tension between Jonas and his brother Alistair, but once again this conflict is merely skipped over a lot of the time. Even towards the end of the book when the conflict seems at its all-time high, Jonas and Alistair never have that full experience of a sibling fight. Jonas has a list of people to hunt and kill, but once again you never really learn everything full circle. It wasn't a terrible read, it just missed some elements that I think would have really added to the experience.

I gotta admit, the first book started this series off a little rocky IMO but it has quickly picked up. I’m honestly obsessed with Jonas. The British accent and the way he calls her “my little puppet. 👀🔥 His wit was crazy good, as well. The spicy scenes were GIVING in this one 🥵🌶 { helloooo praise kink 😅 } and Jona’s dirty talk?? 🤌🻠I enjoyed Lenny as well.. the paintbrush being her choice of murder weapon is everything. 🖌

I also need to mention how absolutely gorgeous this book cover is. 🩷💙

Lenny & Jonas 💙

I really enjoyed their story. There was fake dating, touch her & D!e vibes, possessive alpha. It had everything I love.

I think what I was missing was a level of depth to the FMC coming to terms with her trauma. That is really my only complaint because we did get glimpses but I felt like something was missing in the end.

It doesn’t take away from the story I just felt like I couldn’t fully connect with Lenny because we weren’t let in to be able to.

Overall though I enjoyed it & would read it again.
