I’m a monster. I kidnapped the wrong girl, and under excruciating circumstances, we fell in love. I took every beating and form of torture meant for her. For months I protected Everleigh, only to lose her when we finally escaped.
It’s been years, and the ghost of Everleigh Adams still haunts me. The nightmare of losing the only woman I’ll ever love has driven me to insanity. And then I start to see her everywhere. Her ghost has left my nightmares to taunt me in my waking life.
Turns out Everleigh never died, and she’s kept a secret from me. When we come face-to-face after four years of pure hell and agony of living without her, she’s still out of my reach. But if insanity has taught me one thing there are no rules. I’ll take what’s mine. There’s nowhere Everleigh can run to escape me.

This was my favorite from this series! I’m sad it’s the end of this amazing world 🥲
I refuse to give anything away for this book, you really should go blind and just enjoy the pain train that Michelle has so kindly provided.
The book is set into two different parts: The Past & The Present.
We find out a lot about Alek and his past, we find out why he is how he is. The events that occurred that altered his life, the reason he has animosity towards his father. His brother Vincent's demise. How he has been dealing with things for over the years and it’s not pretty.
We meet his love interest Everleigh in this book and let me tell you, she was not what I expected. The whole story was nothing like I expected. It was without a doubt really hard to read part 1. There is so much to unpack and to survive from.
These two truly go through literal hell and it takes a long time to reach the happiness they both so deserve. I appreciated Everleigh's strength and perseverance. She needed to be brave for many reasons, but I suspected one of the reasons (you'll what I mean when you read it).
I kept waiting for the reunion to happen and the crossing paths was frustratingly angsty. Alek stole my heart from the second he was introduced, and he deserved this incredible story (and the incredible girl/love).
I finished this in one sitting, I refused to put it down and needed to get to the end just to see how this whole world was wrapped up. I'll admit I got teary eyed throughout the book, and not just because it was the end but because of everything that occurs.
We got great cameos from past favorites, and I know why Michelle won't be making anything books in this world as everyone gets older, and not everyone can live forever but it's a bittersweet goodbye. Who knew that 15 books later I would wish for even more?
Wow this was such a beautiful ending to this series. I devoured this whole series so fast Omg it is so so good. Michelle Heard books are short and AMAZINGGG. This book was really good omg I felt everything 🥹🫶🏻 I love Alek, he’s so 🤌🏻🤌🏻 the way he treated Everleigh. I can’t get over it he absolutely ate 🕺ً
Heard really did so well when writing this series because it had me in a chokehold I was so excited to read the books about the characters mentioned in the first book and here we are. ONCE AGAIN. SUCH A BEAUTIFUL ENDING.
that’s it. That’s the review. Highly recommend !!!
this did not give. this did not serve. this was horrible.
I think it is officially safe to say that me and this author really don't vibe 🤣 I don't think I have really liked any of her books and I dont think I ever will.
One good thing I will say about her books is that they are SO EASY TO READ. You can easily read them in a day. You also know what you are going to get with every story because they follow the same outline.
Let me start off with saying the CHILD in this book... I don't think I have EVER disliked a child more. He was SO annoying and so unrealistic. His age and actions did not match. He was also such a brat (not in a good way). If that were my child I would have thrown him out of the fucking car. He was insufferable. The kids in books make or break them and in this case, the kid sunk this book into the garbage.
The romance? Oh I think you mean the insta-love 😍 (Guys if you didn't know this is my favorite trope in the whole big wide world... NOT) Basically they get kidnapped together and spend everyday with each other in this dark cement room for like a month I wanna say. They tell the kidnapper they are in love so he doesn't kill the girl and can use her against the guys. Kidnapper doesn't "believe" them so he makes them fuck in front of him and all his men. The girl is a virgin. They fuck. Magic, sparks, love flies through the air as their bodies join together in the horizontal tango. I think they go back into the room for a while, I can't really remember. Kidnapper kills guys brother. Guys dad and other brother come and save them, but OH WAIT ofc the night before or whatever they ✨💞😍make love😍💞. They get rescued. The dad "kills" the girl and leaves her in a field on the side of the road. The guy thinks she is dead. Girl moves to Cali cause thats were the love of her life said he always wanted to live (EVEN THOUGH she never wants to run into him again cause the mafia life is scary). YEARS LATER SURPRISE the guy moves to Cali! The same town, GET THIS!, she moved to!!! OMG HOW SHOCKING! It's almost like he always said he would move there. The child is insufferable. The man goes crazy possessive cause he has found HIS WOMAN and she must be safe.
Honestly, Im so tired of writing this review 💀
Blah, blah, blah she pushes him away cause omg he's is in the mafia. He pursues her. She gives in in .2 seconds.
Im so done. Just know, I kept waiting for this book to get better and it did not 😃
This was so good! I've read Michelle Heard's books before, and even though I ALWAYS find them cliché, I do enjoy them! her mafia books deliver all the things I want to read about! 😭
the writing style isn't THAT great, but the point comes across. each & every hero is so good to the heroine after their initial kidnapping or hate stuff 😮
Aleksandr Aslanhov & Everleigh Adams 24-22
I've read about Alek before, and even though I was interested, I never picked up this book—but I should've. the second chance romance where they both thought that their 'other soul' died, and finding them again was great 😩
i thought something bad would happen in the end, but it's clear they both already suffered too much! because of their abduction together, they were practically forced to bond and fall in love. then his asshole father shot her, and they both got separated. I love how she's so strong that she did what was necessary for her child and took care of him and got settled!
Alek and Vincent's bond was so cute 😢 I love this kid! all the scenes were so cute!! I was really craving this type of book and i was sooo happy to read ViktokRosalie's cameos 😭 i didn't know that he'd be in this book so it was a surprise and THEY WERE CUTEEEEE!!
Seriously fantastic conclusion to the series! Possess Me had me hooked from the first page and just didn't let go. The writing and storyline was fantastic, but it was really the characters that had me in a choke hold. It was a super emotional rollercoaster ride that had me nearly in tears multiple times, but had me all put together again by the end. Definitely my favorite book in this series and I walked away with a huge smile on my face. I've been a fan of the St. Monarch's universe since the release of the first book and am super sad to see it conclude, but I'm excited to see what Michelle has for us next!
I'm so overwhelmed by everything that happened here, but it's a good kind of overwhelmed. The first part of the story was too much to handle and what happened to them really broke my heart and made me cry my heart out. But then the second part totally made up for all those heartaches and I'm just so happy that they found their way back to each other.
The years they were separated weren't an easy journey for both of them, but they pushed through and made something out of it. The unbreakable bond and love between Alek and Everleigh is still stronger than ever. Even after the horrible things they experienced together they never let go of their love and remained faithful. This was so sweet and swoony and I'm here for all of it.
The only thing I would've wanted more is to read an extended epilogue and to have a glimpse of their lives years later. But this still made my heart feel so full and happy 😊
Bittersweet that’s what I’m currently feeling. I remember being over the moon when the series was first announced and now like every good thing, it’s time to say goodbye.
And what a blockbuster goodbye it was! I can’t believe it’s the same Alek who was first introduced in ‘Destroy Me! The pain behind his facade is heartbreaking. I loved his character growth in the book. He matured so much in the book.
To say the first few chapters were brutal is understatement. Uff, I was literally counting pages so the pain would end. For me, star of the book is Alek. His loyalty, his utter devotion and dedication to Everleigh was everything. Even though he believed her to be dead, he never even thought of another women. His pain tugged at my heart.
I loved their near- miss encounters in the present. It felt like even fate wanted them to have a second chance. And when they met again boom! That was my favourite scene in the book. Alek’s reaction was everything. Every time he opened his mouth my heart broke for him. He just wanted his Everleigh. And i’v respect for her because she was selfless and strong.
But I felt that the last part should’ve more angst and it was kinda lukewarm. After all Misha, Armani and Alek have been through I NEEDED a scene with all of them. Ending was a little abrupt.
Overall a fantastic addition to a Fantastic series.
—second chance done right. —Angsty, TW. —forced proximity, fake relationship. —unhinged hero x sweet but strong heroine. —amazing friendship.
P.s special mention to Alexei and Victor they were amazing in this book.
I received an advance review copy and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.
Guess who's a clown for thinking that this book would have been a good read? I should have known. I'm not a huge fan of Michelle Heard's writing but I really thought this one would be different because some of her books that I've read previously were halfway decent. Joke's on me lmao. I hate to say this, but the writing was so fucking cringe and felt like it had been written by a fourteen year old. This book needs a lot of editing and work. Extremely disappointed. And now I def won't be touching any of this author's books lol. I just needed a light, quick read and instead I'm leaving with a fucking migraine and severe boredom and irritation. The plot and flow of events was unrealistic and wayyy too dramatic, not to mention. Like, miss girl, you really expect me to believe that far fetched shit?👀 The only thing I liked was how both the MMCs stayed celibate throughout the four years they were apart - usually it's always the H who moves on while the h pines after him in a second chance romance (double standards much?) Also, petition to remove the word "manhood" from the English language. I'm fucking done with that cringey ass shit y'all *proceeds to cry in clown*🤡🔫
What a bittersweet ending!!! Bitter because after 15 books placed into the same world, we need to say goodbye, and sweet, because we finally received the most anticipated story of the 'Corrupted Royals' series and it was one hell of a ride, in true Michelle Heard's fashion!!!! And yes, it is officially!!! I have loved all the previous books in the series, but this was my most favorite!!! This story was gut-wrecking, very emotional and addictive as hell!!! Alec took his sweet time to tell us his story, but his story was so freakin' intense and beautiful in a heart-wrecking way!!!
"Don't love me, Alec..." "If I don't love you, they'll kill you. Your only purpose is to break me."
If you have read the previous books in the series, then you are very familiar with Alec... We had already taken glimpses of his tormented soul and we were all wondering what had happened to him in the past and who was the woman that had such an impact to him!!! This book was separated in two parts... Past and presence... And in the past, we have met Alec's girl, Everleigh, a girl that accidentally stepped into his world and she paid the price with tears and blood!!! In a very hostile enviroment, Alec and Everleigh had connected very deeply and when they managed to get lost into their feelings for each other, they were ripped apart...
"It's like the darkness has fused us. I don't even where I end and you begin."
In the presence, Alec is moving out of St. Monarch's academy and he is preparing to take his place beside Viktor Vetrov, the Bratva's head... Alec is going through life, but his heart never healed from Everleigh's loss... And now, he is seeing her everywhere and he is in the doorstop of insanity... But then, he is discovering that the woman he lost and never forgot is very real and that she is carrying a secret that can change their lives forever... Is there a second chance for these two when Alec's world destroyed Everleigh in the past???
"Love me, Everleigh. Don't leave me in your past. I want to be more than a memory."
I loved this couple so much!!! Their past destroyed me and made my heart beat wildly... I was breaking for Alec and Everleigh's ugly fate... Their future brought me hope and a smile on my face... Yes, it wasn't an easy ride, but after what they went through, they deserved happiness together... Alec wasn't at all as I was expecting and he had melted my heart with his devotion and adoration to his woman... And Everleigh had a calm and determined presence that won me over... I liked the way these two were loving each other!!!
"You're embedded in my soul, Everleigh. To remove you would rip me apart."
And of course, I adore all the cameos by Michelle's previous characters... It was nice seeing Viktor and Rosalie, for once again.... But what had melted my heart was Alexei Koslov, my beloved Alexei, whom in here proved us for once again what a great man he was!!! Alexei was my obsession before and now, Alec had become another one obsession of mine... Michelle Heard, what are you doing to me??? God, I will miss these world so much!!! I had so many amazing mental trips in the company of this crew and I will always remember these characters fondly!!!
"I'm never letting her go again. Never."
**I received an ARC for the exchange of an honest review**
I can't believe this is the end of the St. Monarch universe, and it's bittersweet to say goodbye. Congratulations to Michelle Heard for writing 15 incredible books that completely immersed me in the St. Monarch Universe. Being on Michelle's ARC team has been an absolute honor, and I've loved every moment discussing these books.
Now, let's talk about the final book, Possess Me. It's undeniably one of the best books I've read by Michelle. Brace yourself, because this one takes you on an emotional rollercoaster. It broke my heart into a million pieces, especially the "past" chapters that were incredibly difficult to read. But fear not because the "present" chapters blew me away. They beautifully repaired my heart and brought everything together in the end. It's a testament to Michelle's talent as a writer.
I was particularly excited about Alek's book, and let me tell you, it was delivered! Michelle showed us the depths of what he had to endure and revealed why he was the way he was in the previous books. And let's not forget about Everleigh's character. I absolutely loved her. She was brave, fierce, and fiercely protective of her loved ones, even after everything they went through.
As much as I'm excited about Michelle's new series, I will genuinely miss all the unforgettable characters in the St. Monarch universe. They've become a part of me, and it's hard to let go. But I know whatever Michelle writes next will be just as captivating and unputdownable.
Thank you, Michelle Heard, for this incredible journey. 🫶🏻
this book brought tears to my eyes and warmed my heart
we follows alek and eveligh’s story, they go through the most intense and emotional time of their lives together but finally get their deserved happy ending (or i would’ve throwed hands)
anyways, i had so much fun bingeing this series in a matter of days and so sad too see it end
but i’m omw to the binge the saint series as i fell in love with those characters in this series
We finally got Alek's story, and his was so heartbreaking!!! We don't get his time in the school, which I'm glad. We get the past and present time.
Let's start. Alek is a newbie, and he and his brother have a job from their father, kidnap a girl. But they kidnapped the wrong person. Everleigh was at the wrong place wrong time. But before anything could happen, they get kidnapped by someone else. And it's darkish when they're kidnapped.. At first, Alek puts on a strong font, not trying to care for Everleigh, but he is smitten when they go through stuff.. poor Everleigh the things that they went through the connection and then to watch something horrible happen and lose someone. And we'll things get more drama when they get rescued.
We then fast forward to the present time, and Alek is doing his thing, still focused on the job. No woman, nothing, he lost his soul mate thinking she's dead. As for Everleigh she hasn't moved on but she has someone she needs to take care of and that is all she is focused on plus she does have some ptsd with the mafia/bravta so it's hard when Alek and her reunite. My poor heart was all tearing when they talked and shared what happened and what they wanna do now.
No ow drama/tiny om drama, no cheating, secondary character, drama, sexy times, no virgins
Slowburnish Tiny push away from h 18h/20H (in the past) 24H/22h (present time) Seperation 3 years Physical/emotional and mental torture Violence Senses deprivation Starvation Degradation PTSD Exhibitionism Death/murder Mentions of grief No condom Hea
This was SO DAMN GOOD!!! Second chance/reunion done right!! Ohh all the feelers I felt! I was on the edge of my seat until our lovers were reunited again! So, so good! 5 Stars
Now Michelle Heard never disappoints, but what an end to this amazing Mafia Era.
I knew Alek was going to break my heart and put it together again.
Ok so, Alek is given orders to kidnap a mafia princess. In a mix up caused by Everleigh swapping clothes with her in a nightclub he grabs the wrong girl. By the time he realises Everleigh is the wrong girl, he, his brother Vincent and Everleigh are then rammed off the road, ambushed and taken hostage.
In this time they go through harrowing experiences together and fall in love. This is until they are rescued several months later by Aleks father, who decides to shoot Everleigh as he sees her as a liability.
Left for dead.Everleigh wakes and is given heart stopping news and a BIG reason to leave Russia and go back home to the USA away from any Mafia connections..
In this time Alek is losing his sanity and can barely bare to be without Everleigh.
When takes a job under the wing of the famous Bratva leader he then encounters the woman he thought was dead.
How they come back together, the secrets, the trauma and the pain.
A second chance where both MCs stayed loyal to each other during their separation where hey thought the other was dead. How they actually met again was OTT and it was where my enjoyment kinda dimmed but overall it was an ok book.
Another amazing book and what a way to end one of my favorite mafia worlds! I’m just sobbing over here because of how much I love the St Monarch’s universe. I’m so grateful to Michelle for giving us these 15 books, 3 series, and the endless new book boyfriends. It’s been a helluva ride and I’m honored to have been able to follow along this journey!
This is Alek & Everleigh’s story. These two went through the toughest of things together and they are so deserving of their HEA. I don’t want to say much because I think going into this book blind makes for the best experience!
It was such a thrill getting to read about some of the original characters from her Saints series like Alexei and Demitri. Alexei is one of my ultimate favorites and it felt like the universe came full circle with him in this book.
I cannot recommend this book/series/universe more!
“It’s like the darkness has fused us. I don’t even know where I end and you begin.
(I haven't read any of the books before this finale one, so I'm solely going off of the story that was written in this one)
"Don’t leave me in your past. I want to be more than a memory.
The beginning few chapters were just as I like my stories: dark. Everleigh and Alek met under intense and scary circumstances. Their dynamic and journey started in a place of literal darkness. Physically, they were drawn to each in a time of intense fear and intense closeness and in that closeness they connected emotionally a well.
I will say, there are parts that I wanted, for once, not throttle the girl but more the guy. Alek, at times, was a bit much, but I'm glad Everleigh (and a few voices of reasons) was there too calm him down and bring him back from a place of insanity and chaos.
A sizzling romance novel that had me completely hooked from start to finish.
First things first, let me tell you how much I've come to adore the characters in this book. Everleigh is the kind of woman I could relate to strong-willed, independent, and unafraid to go after what she wants. And then there's Alek, the dark and mysterious stranger who oozes sexiness and keeps you guessing at every turn. The chemistry between these two is off the charts, and Michelle did an incredible job of making their connection feel genuine and oh-so-electrifying.
Now, let's talk about the writing. Michelle's style is laidback and easy to get lost in. Her words effortlessly transport you into the world she's created, allowing you to feel the raw emotions and intensity of Everleigh and Alek's relationship. I found myself swooning during the tender moments and gripping the edge of my seat during the suspenseful twists and turns. The pacing was spot-on, keeping the story moving at just the right speed to keep me engaged throughout.
Speaking of the plot, Possess Me delivers a delightful blend of romance, suspense, and surprises. It's not your typical love story, as Everleigh and Alek find themselves caught up in dangerous situations and facing external threats that keep you on the edge of your seat. The mystery surrounding Alek's past adds an extra layer of intrigue, and I was constantly on the edge of my seat, eager to unravel the truth.
As much as I enjoyed this book, it's with a heavy heart that I acknowledge the series coming to an end. I've grown so attached to these characters, and it's bittersweet to say goodbye. If I had one minor quibble, it would be that I wish certain plot points and character backgrounds were explored in more detail. But hey, even with that little longing, it didn't dampen my overall enjoyment one bit.
Everleigh, eighteen and travelling. After losing the two most important people in her life, she sets out to fulfill the one thing they were all supposed to do once she graduated. She has absolutely no idea what she wants to do in her life. During her day out and about in Russia, she finds herself in a nightclub and after one decision, she doesn't realise the change it will have in her life.
Alek, oh my f* heart. Have been waiting for his book ever since finishing the first book in this series and his story was just 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒘𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈. One job that's all he had to do, and he kidnaps the wrong girl. And that's when his entire life changed.
Everleigh and Alek, find themselves in the most devastating circumstances, with only each other to rely on, and after weeks of captivity, their feelings become so much more. And when they finally have freedom, Alek's father 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒚𝒔 his whole world.
After his training Alek has become more dangerous, and unpredictable. And when he realises that he isn't hallucinating and the woman he loves with everything he has is still alive with a little secret he will do anything and everything to keep his family safe.
...holy hell, Alek and Everleigh's book was just the perfect heartbreaking book to finish off this amazing world / series, that Michelle Heard created.
The connection these two developed due to their situation changed their whole life, the love they had was just for each other which led to both never moving on in their lives, and when they are reunited, the chemistry was intense as f***, the steamy moments 🥵🌶
Everleigh, going through the hell she did, but having to move forward. Her pain and fear was just 💔 and Alek 🔥 oh my gosh!!! Talk about a loving, dangerous, unpredictable, f* possessive hero.
4.5 stars. Michelle Heard really put her whole soul into this book. SPOILERS BELOW
this book follows Everleigh who is orphaned and trying to get back on her feet which leads her to go to the club and a mafia princess begs her to switch outfits. Alek was tasked with capturing the mafia princess but accidentally kidnaps Everleigh then both get kidnapped by Alek’s enemy and tortured for months. this book was definitely dark but the connection between Alek and Everleigh might just save them in the end.
in the torture chambers, it was undeniably cruel and violent. gosh i felt so bad for Alek when having to choose between who gets to die. these first few chapters were hard hitting and dark. Alek and Everleigh were forced to have sex in front of their kidnappers to prove that they are dating since if it was revealed that Everleigh was just a regular girl, she would’ve died. flash forward to weeks of torture, where Alek’s father saves them both but kills Everleigh because he felt she was a liability. Alek went ballistic and his whole was been bleak ever since.
gosh, this book started off with a punch to the gut! it was dark and so sad but so full of love between Alek and Everleigh. they really created a connection and even fell in love after months of being tortured together. i could not breathe. my heart hurt because of the amount of agony Alek was in for years thinking that his one true love has died. all his appearances and stoic personality in the other books made so much sense. he lost the love of his life and was never the same again. he was depressed and lost and refused to move on. i really really loved this man wow.
After Alek’s father shot Everleigh, a civilian brought her to the hospital and she finds out she is pregnant with Aleks baby. she goes into hiding for years because she is terrified of the Russian mafia and thought Alek died. later, they get reunited and Alek becomes feral at first, wanting them to get married and never wants her to leave his sight. honestly i was swooning through everything.
what a great book. it was so captivating that writing this review makes me want to reread it. ugh Alek is my man. so obsessive, sooo JP, his whole world was over when he thought she died. like she is his only reason for living. like reading about his agony made my cold heart melt.
safety: no omd/owd, torture/violence, both celibate during 4 years of separation, both thought the other died, heroine pregnant with H’s baby
this one didn't work for me, i didn't feel that intense connection before they were separate. i didn't see them fall in love, i didn't see a thing. So for me it was really hard to believe they pinned after each other that way thinking they were dead. For this reasons i couldn't enjoy it. If they had a proper build up then it would've been another story.
This book broke me, I was crying for almost the entire first half of this book. It deals with VERY HEAVY themes such as kidnapping, manipulation, torture, violence and many more that you can find on the first page of this book; Having said that, I will continue with my review.
The story of Alek and Everleigh broke me, this book is divided into two parts (present and past) and each of them hurts. We see how these two are kidnapped and tortured but in that dark moment of their lives they have each other and form a relationship and here they tell us that due to circumstances they may have feelings for each other and it ends up being true, Horrible things happen while they are locked up and when they are rescued they think that everything is fine but it is not, the father of our MMC is evil and "gets rid of" Everleigh, she survives and from there we get to the second and bigger part of the book
This second part is all that is right, they gave me what I wanted, they made me cry but also feel hope for this pair and above all feel happy. I saw a little bit of the life of Viktor and Rosalie and it was happy to see that they are well and happy. I read that this book already closes this whole mafia world that Michelle created and it saddens me but what a good ending she gave this series with this book that was a roller coaster of so many emotions.
🫂 Thanks to Michelle Heard and Candi Kane PR for the arc in exchange for my honest review 📚!!

I love me an unhinged for his woman Hero, and Alec delivered. Granted, I expected more more action, maybe a kidnapping lol, or more j/p scenes from Alec as said unhinged man, so it was just aight for me.
Also, one pet peeve I had with this book though was the 3-year old child, if you could even call him that. He acted and talked as if he was a petulant teenager and it was not cute like at all. I have a 5-year old niece and she does not talk like that, not even close. Sometimes she even struggles to construct her sentences well, but this 3-year old dude talks as if he’s been to high school. It actually annoyed the crap out of me every time he spoke, and I usually find children in books to be endearing. Not this one, folks. So that put me off quite a bit.
Lastly, let’s please never refer to a man’s junk as “manhood again it inevitably kills all the vibes (for the reader, or at the very least this reader) and then some.
But anyway.
I actually enjoyed this series even if none of the books were perfect (the 4th one was almost a 5-star read for me), and a little sad it’s come to an end. These books have become a guilty read for me after all.
