Stuart Parker is looking for love. He goes on the occasional date, but none of the guys want to stick around. If they bother to show up at all. On the rare times a date has come to his house, Stuart's diva cat didn't exactly give him a warm welcome. He swears the cat is purposefully sabotaging his love life by hissing, growling, and even hiding his condoms and new underwear.
Si isn't your typical house cat. He’s been trying to work up the courage to tell Stu the truth for a year, but how do you tell your human mate that you’re not the feline that you appear to be?
After being stood up yet again, Stuart's brother Keiran takes him to Purrs nightclub, where Kei is the assistant manager. When Stu meets one of the club's owners, Silas, he's struck still. Besides being the most beautiful man Stuart has ever seen, the collar he's wearing looks an awful lot like the one Stu designed for his cat.
You know, his cat named Si.
Life suddenly takes a drastic turn for both human and feline. Has that elusive happily-ever-after Stuart’s been searching for been right under his nose the whole time? Will he run in the opposite direction when he discovers who his pet really is?
Each book in the Purrs series takes place during the same time period. Details from one story may be expanded upon in another. Some events in a previous book might not have taken place yet in a subsequent book.
The books in the Purrs series cannot be read as standalones. While each one focuses on a new couple, their stories are all linked to the series as a whole. Some secondary characters may seem insignificant in one book and be quite significant in another.
Note that past sexual abuse is discussed briefly in Silas (Purrs, #1). While nothing is on-page, this may trigger some readers. Keep this in mind before downloading the book.

Good golly but this was cute. Like over abundantly cute. But also semi dark in places, but those were few and far between.
Spoilers ahead
In here we have Stu, a young banker who we meet when he is getting stood up on a date. His brother Kei (apparently his story is happening at the same time?) picks up his drunk tush and takes him to Purrs, which is run by cat shifters.
For some odd reason, we are supposed to know about Kei and Indigo being into each other.
Side note, this whole all the stories happening at the same time thing doesn't work well when the other stories are not available.
Anyways, Stu meets Silas, the brother of Indigo and has an instalove reaction to him, but is told that because he is wearing a collar, he is taken. There are a lot of "wink wink" setups in here to make sure you get that Silas and Si, Stu's cat are the same being. Stu has had this cat for over a year, yet didn't know he was a shifter.
So things happen and all of a sudden Stu knows that Si/Silas are the same being and after googling, figures out cat shifters are real.
Y'all know what happens, they admit everything and hook up at 90%.
And there lies why I was kind of disappointed with this one. I liked the cat shifter living with his fated mate, I bought that with no issues. What I had problems with was the lack of any communication between the main mcs. I mean there were talks with Stus brother, Silas' dad, sister, and all that, but none between these two until 80% into the story.
I need to see some interaction between them.
Over all, this is cute. And if the other book is released, I will read it to see how Stus brother is getting his hea with Silas' brother.
The good + The relationship between Stu and Keiran + Silas being a total diva cat + Stu's revenge on Silas + The Kitt family + Stu telling everyone who's willing to listen that his cat steals his condoms and underwear
The neutral o I understand Keiran's book is only the second book in the series, but I still felt slighted at how Stu was kept out of the loop on his relationship
The bad - Silas got away too easily with his deception. More groveling (or revenge!) was required - Silas played a significant role in Stu's insecurity and extremely low self-esteem, which even resulted in frequent sadness. Silas' excuses don't make up for the hurt he caused and also don't imply he'd be a very attentive mate - Stu had no chance to get to know Silas, especially not as well as Silas knew him - By the time Silas finally revealed himself and declared they're fated mates, the book was over
This book was a fun and enjoyable read. The ending came too abruptly for my liking, especially since Stu did not yet have a chance to get to know Silas in return. But I did really like Silas' diva cat side and Stu's evil revenge plot. I'll try more books in the series, especially because I want the dad's story.
Nice first in a series. I like the Kitt family and Stuart and his brother. Love the Dad because I'm a slut for older men. Ah, Stuart's brother. Can I keep him? Stuart's nice and all, but I loved Silas and his brat cat ways. Total opposites attract. It's just long enough to get a feel for the characters. I'm curious about what I'll see in the upcoming books. Back to Stuart's brother. Everything about this guy is my type, right down to his purple eyeliner. I need his story stat. Conclusion: Cute, funny in some places (Si's cat is a bit of a brat, as I said), and some sugary sweet sappy moments. There's major insta love, which is alright by me. Just what I needed on a bleh rainy day. Bring on Kei's story!
I was a bit disappointed in this book. Felt it was repetitive at times, too much telling the story which meant it ended up just lacking in feeling the connection between the MC's. It's a shame because I loved this authors Kinky Elf books, but not sure if I'll continue with this series
A really original idea: Silas is a cat shifter who found his mate, Stu, and got himself adopted by Stu in his cat form then didn't know how to reveal the truth to him so stayed with him as his cat, keeping him company and sabotaging his dates.
Unfortunately the execution was not good. The writing style was bland and the characters flat, I mean they expose Stu & Kieran's tragic backstory and it's entirely without impact. There's no character or relationship development so it's entirely boring.
Once Stu works out what's going on, he pretends to string Si along, buys things to prank him. Ugh, just talk about it already.
