This is my guilty pleasures series. This is my favorite of the series so far. The heroine is the only known Zetithian female. Because she was rescued and raised on Earth she knows nothing about her own race. She doesn't understand her hardwiring as an alien. When she meets Trag, a Zetithian male she doesn't understand her odd response to him. Neither one of these two fall in love at first site, which I liked. He is in love with his brother's wife and although he wants his own mate, Micayla seems too much trouble and she doesn't seem to really like him so he just leaves her alone which neither of them understand is not how Zetithian mating is supposed to work. It's kind of a blind leading the blind thing as neither one is knowledgeable about the customs of their race since their world has been destroyed.

This book was pretty well written and the plot made sense especially since we finally find out why the planet was destroyed. They do eventually fall in love but it takes them awhile to grow into each other. So the romance was well done. The scenes where he realizes he loves her and tries to tell her while protecting his own heart are very touching and sweet.

The sci fi is light but consistent and pretty well done. The laws of physics (within sci fi boundaries i.e., space travel must be feasible) seem to apply which is not always the case with SFR.

These are pretty hot stories as to the lovemaking element and pretty goofy but hey I accepted the snard in the first book and have just gone with the flow since then. Hey snard joke. Snicker.

I hope this isn't the end of the series.

I was really interested in finding out about Hero just for Micayla as she's the last female of her kind left and wondered what she would be like.

Raised on earth, Micayla is the last living Zetithian female. Typical of her species, she's aloof and uninterested in men, that is until she meets Trag, the Zetithian pilot for an intergalactic arms dealer and the sexiest, most irksome man she's ever met. Trag has sworn he'll never marry, unless he can find a Zetithian woman. Considering the odds, it's a safe bet, until he encounters Micayla. Fighting the enemies who are determined to wipe out the Zetithian race may be easier than convincing these hardheaded lovers that they were made for each other.

Hero is a sci-fi romance meets erotica romance and is brilliantly written by Cheryl Brooks. The background to the story is about a breed of warriors who are a mix between cats and humans and their planet has been blown up and any survivors are hunted down and killed and no-one really knows why. The Cat Star Chronicles is all about the few warrior survivors of the war who fought together and were all sold into slavery and how they've survived since, found their mates and are trying to find each other again.

Hero was everything I could have wanted to happen with Micayla and Trag. I'll admit I did find the beginning a bit of a let down but I was determined to see Micayla and Trag have their own HEA and was really glad I stuck with Hero because it really had potential once it got going.

I loved the scene where Micayla hissed at Trag, but really disliked Trag's attitude to Micayla after it happened. He was so stuck in his 'I love my brother's mate, I am doomed to be alone' routine that he never saw what Micayla did as what it was meant for. Thank god for Cat and is interfering ways otherwise I wonder if Micayla and Trag would have ever worked it out for themselves that Micayla's hissing was meant to entice Trag.

I really liked Micayla, she was really confused about her feelings for Trag and knew how he felt for his brothers mate yet stood up for him when they clashed about Trag's behaviour.

It was really great to find out who the actual bad guy was and why he wanted all the Zetithian's wiped out and it was a really lovely and sweet ending to find out there were more than the 7 surviving Zetithian's left and who had saved them all! Brilliant end to a lovely and interesting series that never failed to make me laugh.

The Cat Star Chronicles series is based around the galaxy of Zetith and the good looking cat like men that come from this galaxy. A long time ago the galaxy of Zetith was destroyed and the feline men were sold off as slaves.

Hero is Tragonathon “Trag Vladatonsk’s story. Trag was in Rogue, the third book. Trag is lonely and wants to settle down. Though, Trag won’t settle for anyone less then a fellow female Zetithian. A female Zetithian is rare. Trag is willing to wait.

Micayla Johnson works on Orleon Station. She is the last Zetithian female. Micayla is spotted by Rutger Grekkor, head of the Commerce Consortium. Rutger despises the Zetithian males. Micayla over hears Rutger gloating about destroying Zetith. When Rutger spots Micayla he aims to take her. Micayla runs and ends up on a space craft with Trag. Trag’s first meeting with Micayla is not lover at first sight. Will the second time around be the charm?

Hero is the sixth book in the Cat Star Chronicles series. I have lapped up every single one of these books. It was great to see Trag again and to get to know him better. Trag is a brooder. Though, I could forgive him, as he is too good looking for his own good. Micayla made me laugh. They way she first reacted to Trag was funny. Every time she got near him, she would hiss or want to bite him. I like that Micayla opened up fairly quickly and became likeable. Trag and Micayla make a good match. If you love sci-fi, romantic paranormal fantasy mixed with a little erotica then you will love these books. Cheryl Brooks is my Hero. I can’t wait to get my hands on book seven, Virgin.

I really enjoyed "Hero" which is Book #6 in The Cat Star Chronicles. Cheryl Brooks has created an incredibly unique world of creatures. Although most of them are clearly not human, they still have very human problems. Like all of the books in The Cat Star Chronicles, this is an erotic romance and leaves nothing to the imagination. The hero, Trag, tugged at my heartstrings from the second I cracked open the book. He's in love with his brother's wife and has assigned himself to a life alone...at least until he meets Micayla. Micayla is the last known Zetithian female left in the universe. She's never felt passion for any male...not even a little. She wanted to--- but phsycially---nada. When she and Trag meet, she hisses in his face and has the urge to bite him. I dont' want to spoil anything...but let's just say that's not a bad thing. There's lots of humor, tons of adventure and buckets of passion. If you're looking for a hot series that's outside the usual paranormal, then you should pick this up. Well done Ms. Brooks.

Another great installment of the Cat Star Chronicles

I did enjoy this book but not as much as I was looking forward to it. To finally see the side of a Zetithian female I thought was going to be really intersting and from the little we got it was good but I felt as if I would have like to know more.

The story line was a little slow to follow and the love scenes not as hot as the others in the series, but still all out a good novel.

The reoccurance of past characters especially Jack was awesome I love finding out a little more about their lives.

We actually find out who the culprit is who detroys their home planet so that is resolved and the introduction of more potential characters is also a plus as I see this series could go on for a while which is great.

I felt that Trag and Ty didnt interact as much as I would have liked they are brothers I thought there would be a conversation between them about Kyra or at least about Mick.

The Cat Star Chronicles is one of those series that I just can’t get enough. I was anxiously awaiting Trag’s story and it didn’t disappoint. Most of the book was fantastic - my favorite part being Trag’s reaction when Micayla hisses at him. The only thing that I didn’t like was Trag’s feelings for his sister-in-law. For more than half the book Trag believes himself in love with his brother’s wife and it bothered me. I don’t think it is an admirable trait and couldn’t help but dislike Trag a little because of it. Other than that one thing, I really did enjoy the story line. This book wraps up the story line of what happened to the Zetithian planet and gives closer to the characters.

This book was much better than the last in the series. It took me only a day and a half. Which is saying something since I took nearly 20 days to finish the last.

Trag finds a female of his own kind and we find out that that's not what he really wanted. It was just an excuse to get everyone off his back. So he could keep mooning over his brother's wife.

My impression of Trag before this book was that he was selfish and childish but my opinion of him rose here.

I really felt for Mick. Not knowing her species all her life or why she didn't feel anything sexual with anyone. Feeling constantly like something was wrong with her.

The first sex scene between the couple, I found, was quite tasteful. I enjoyed it a lot. Especially the biting. I would have enjoyed more hissing as well. Lol.

One thing I did not find realistic was Trag's reaction to Mick's hissing. If you're going to say hissing is instinctual when a female is interested... Then shouldn't it follow that the male's purring is as well?

Mick knew nothing of her culture and hissed so why did Trag not instinctually purr? It seemed as though, up till this book, purring was instinctual when a female was chosen.

So then was Mick not attractive to Trag at first?

As usual, the sex devolved into porn after the first sex scene. But it wasn't as annoying because there was enough of a story to carry it.

There was no orgy-like scene this time. Thank goodness. I enjoyed very much just revisiting all the characters, without delving into their sex life.

We find out the culprit to their planet being destroyed and, I know this series is old and ended but i felt a bit of excitement, hearing there was a ship full of Zetithians emerging out of hiding.

Proving that your entire race was attacked by one man is difficult, right? But in the pages of this amazing book, you'll find the tale of Trag, a gun runner's pilot who found love where he thought none existed, and Micayla, a staton communications expert who doesn't know what she is, and is on the run for seeing something she shouldn't have!

LOL I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I KEPT READING ON Writing was alright and I like the creativity behind the author’s vision. However, judging from a romance reader perspective, there was little to no emotional development between hero and heroine, the sexy scenes were nothing special and it just overall did not do it for me.

It sucked - a pornographic novel about alien species and their mating habits. Is there a rating lower than 1?

Romance, genocide, revenge, and justice. All these mixed in with space travel, alien races, and steamy sex. It just doesn't get any better. Oh wait, I forgot to throw in the hot men. Yep, that about does it.

Micayla has never fit in with her classmates, workmates or neighbours. Considering that she has cat-like eyes, pointed ears and she can purr, it's not surprising. The last thing her mother did before she was murdered was to give Micayla to a woman in spaceport and ask her to keep her baby safe. Since that time she has never met another member of her race, what ever that might be. While working as a communications officer on Orleon Station she catches a glimpse of man that she feels compelled to find. Who could he be and why does she feel she has to risk all to find him.

Trag has been working as a pilot for several years and once again finds himself docking at Orleon Station. His shipmates have sent him to find "female" companionship even though he has publicly sworn to marry only when he finds a Zetithian female, knowing there are none left in existence.

This was a funny and totally entertaining book. The love and denial between Micayla and Trag was almost predictable, though I couldn't imagine it happening any other way. I enjoyed watching both these characters develop and learn more about their earlier lives. This is the sixth book in the series and while I haven't read any of the earlier ones, Ms. Brooks did a great job of recapping and getting me up to speed with all the main characters especially Trag.

Genocide, revenge and justice play major roles in the second half of the book. It's amazing the lengths that one man will go to to sooth his bruised ego. All I have to say to that character is grow up, look to your self for your faults, stop blaming them on others. As for the Zetithians, they take the highroad and show why I think that in future editions of this story they will have the strength to survive and possibly even thrive in what has until now been a hostile universe.

I look forward to reading more about this race and finding out their earlier history. Note that this book contains material that is not appropriate for younger readers.

I got this book for free (hence why I started the series on number 6!!) and I will say that, although I do wish I had started the series from the end, it didn't impact on my enjoyment of the story.

The book is set in a Star Trek like universe where space travel is possible and all the planets visit each other. We begin on a docking station in the middle of deep space. Here we meet Mickayla, a feline-looking woman, who grew up on Earth, but has no clue what race she is. We also meet Trag, one of the last Zetethian males. With a bounty on his head, and with the self dispair at loving his brothere mate, he is travelling with a gang of nice but rough males (and giant insects!) on a arms dealing ship that docks for the day. He swears that he won't mate anyone but a Zethian female, believing them all to be extinct, but then along comes Mickayla.......

I enjoyed this book. It starts off with no hope of a hook-up between the two characters. Mickayla begins the romance plot by hissing at Trag (with no clue as to why she is!) and he dismisses her straight off the bat. They are attracted to each other on instinct alone but, as both have no clue about their own heritage and customs, they dont realise that they do! Its builds nicely but when they decide to give in to their own insticts the chemistry is explosive. The sex scenes are really quite steamy and very well written.

The sub-story is really quite horrible as it revolves around an act of genocide. The main pair spend the entire story either running from the people who tried to wipe out their entire race, or running towards the culprit to get revenge when they discover it is. The rest of the characters in the book were well written and 3D so they were fun to read....I wouldnt mind reading Leroys book!:)

Overall a good read

Book #6 in the Cat Star Chronicles series

We first met Trag in when he was a slave on Draconia with his brother Tycharian. Ty had shared Kyra with him one time & Trag has never been able to get over Kyra. He's sworn that he won't mate unless it's with a Zetithian woman, believing that none of the women survived the destruction of their home planet.

Micayla is the last know surviving Zethithian woman, but her parents were killed when she was very young, so she has no idea about her origins. She's always thought there was something wrong with her because she's never had any desire to be with a man. Sex has always been something painful & very un-fulfilling for her. When she first meets Trag, she hisses at him. She's thrown for a loop because she's never reacted that way with anyone. Then after she gets to know him a bit better she's wanting to bite him & she's never reacted that way either.

Other than the budding romance between Trag & Micayla, the arc of this book involves the Zetithians finding out who master-minded the destruction of their planet. And there's a little bit of a cliff-hanger in the end.

I've read the other books in this series and I must admit that this book, while not my absolute favorite, closed out the main storyline with a bang and gave the poor Zetithian survivors a bucket of hope for what the future will bring.

Probably my favorite aspect of this book was how neither Trag nor Micayla had any idea how to deal with the instincts they felt for others of their species. The first time Micayle meets Trag she hisses at him, completely to her chagrin. Having never met others of her kind, she doesn't know what's normal and what's not. For his part, Trag has never met a woman who hasn't fallen at his feet over either his looks or for the sexual abilities of the males of his species and he's at a loss how to approach her. It's sweet and funny how they fumble around when they're in each others presence.

Overall, it was a satisfying end to the series arc. It looks like there's a 7th book coming out in the Spring of 2011 which will hopefully give us a little more story on how this nearly extinct species is going to fare in the future.

Sixth book in Cheryl Brooks' Cat Star Chronicles, Hero is the story of Trag. We met Trag in book number four, as the brother of Tychar. Trag is unique in that he wears his emotions on his sleeve. He's not afraid to put his feelings out there. He's also unique in that while all the other Zetithian survivors are falling for Terran women, Trag is holding out for a women of his own race, even if one no longer exists due to the destruction of his home world.

There's one. Micayla was raised on Earth. When they meet under the most unusual of circumstances and find themselves together for a lengthy voyage on a spaceship, it gets VERY interesting. This couple is subject to instincts and a biological mating ritual neither understand and both mistake as dislike rather than attraction. The sparks really fly in this one. Nothing in this story will disappoint. And if you've been reading the entire series, there's a special treat for you in the ending of Hero. Satisfaction Primo!

Book 6 in the series. Can be read without reading previous books but you will get quick snidbits to catch you up.

Trag Trag Trag. Hmmm what can I say about him and his aversion to blue. Spreading his love or rather his Zetithian special joy juice throughout the galaxy's and is very popular in betrothals. Telling everyone he is holding out for a Zetithian female to mate to avoid Kyra and Tychar (his brother and his mate) and his confusing lust for her.

Micayla doesn't even know what species she is until her friend Windura tells her. Never understanding her lack of response to men until she meets Trag and then it gets a bit interesting. If you ever wondered why Zetithian males have all those extra surprises then you find out it is because Zetithian woman have/want to be enticed. And whoo hoo if that wasn't fun to watch develop.

Besides the Zetithian mating or enticing whatnot we also have the slowly building conclusion to who is behind it all.

I gave this book 4 stars because Micayla wasn't as easy to relate to. I think it should have gone a little more into her struggle to relate to others growing up instead of focusing on everyone thinking she's a cold bitch. Just my opinion. Other than that of course I love Trag and he just made the book worth reading. I didn't like Kyra much in this book at all. Mabye it was just because it was written from a different perspective? It was like she felt she had some claim on Trag and wanted a say in his life but wasn't willing to go farther than that. Anyway once Micayla stood up to Kyra I liked her more. All in all it was a great story with an awesome ending! I can't wait to read the next book.

This can definitely be read as a stand-alone novel; I haven't read any of the earlier books, and had no problems understanding the world(s) and characters.

I loved the fact that neither Micayla nor Trag knew of Zetithian mating practices. They were both clueless and freaked out about the driving need to follow their instincts. Fascinating. And, like others have said, I like that theirs isn't a "Love at first sight" story.

One critique: the part where everyone gets together to plan the Grekkor confrontation seems a bit overthought/overdone to me. It seems that the scene could've been much simpler, much shorter, and had the same basic effect.

This story kept me interested from page 1, and I didn't want to put it down. Definitely a good, intriguing read.

Hero is the sixth book in the Cat Star Chronicles by Cheryl Brooks. Each book can be read as a stand alone book but the series does feature recurring characters.

In Hero, pilot Trag meets the last female Zetithian Micayla. Raised as a human Micayla, doesn't understand her disinterest in men until she meets Trag. Trag is still hung-up on his brother's wife so there is no insta-love in this novel, which I absolutely loved. It was nice to see their romance develop throughout the book. I do love the continued story-arcs and the cameos by previous main characters. Highly recommend this book and series!

Look, this is no great work of literature; it's slightly campy sci-fi erotica, plain and simple, but it's an incredibly FUN novel. The writing is solid (if occasionally a little heavy on vulgarity), the characters are interesting and likable, the story is nothing if not original. I believe this is the last book in the series; I read it first, and don't feel any real urge to read the rest of them, because I can pretty much see how the other stories went from this novel, but THIS one is well worth a read if this sort of thing is to your taste, and it is definitely to mine.

FULL REVIEW:

The characters were great, they had back story and a real flair for dialogue but as far as their chemistry together zilch. Every romantic scene felt forced, these two characters didn’t sound like they were meant to be together. This made the sex scenes less emotional and rather dull. I was not inspired by Hero like Ms. Brooks pervious books, which is a shock. I will be reading her other books though. She’s written some great stuff and I hope this is simply a hiccup in her writing career.

I loved this series. This is book #6 for those who are just now reading it and it was hilarious. Micayla and Trag are the main characters of this book and we see how a Zetithian female reacts to a male of her species not that Micayla has any idea that is what she is at first. Trag, is Tychar's brother from book 4 so we know is trying to get over his brother's mate still and he has sworn to only get with another Zetithian female (not knowing there were any left). They met under unusual circumstances and it gets funny from there.

A bit different because we learn more about the mating dance between a male and a female Zetithian. The characters are back to two dimensional. Still, I found it to be an enjoyable and easy read. Good book for relaxation. The sex is a bit rougher, but nothing edgy. The big mystery is finally revealed. If anyone didn't figure out the mystery after book 1, I'd say they were not paying attention to the book. Easy plot to follow.

I thought this book was pretty good. I started it back in June (it is now September) when I was at the beach. It was good up until about 100 pages until the end. I think I just kept reading it to get to the good part. But when the good part came, it also went...bye bye. lol

this is definitely more of a sci-fi book, and I didn't like it THAT much. I had to force myself to finish it, but if you do like star trek and that sort of thing, this book is for you. And great ending too.

I'd been waiting for Trag's book for a long time. And it was truly one of the better offerings in the series, if not my all-time favorite, which is still Outcast. I like when Brooks writes vulnerable heroes, and Trag totally was. I loved seeing a Zetithian female as well.

You don't want to read these books because they provide high-quality literature, but they are great fun, and I've been enjoying revisiting that world.

I like it isn't love at first sight for Trag and Micayla. I like adversity and conflict with my hero and heroine and this book delivered that. I did find that the multiple sex scenes were repetitive and I honestly got tired of reading about the effects of snard. Other than that it's a great book that advances the series and leaves it in a good place for the next installment.
