Alright, so Chloe knew it was just a little crazy to have a crush on a sexdroid, be he ever so cute and great in the sack, but she did, and she wasn’t about to let the company ‘disassemble him, by god, even if she did have to rob the ranger station to rescue him! Jared and Kane didn’t think she needed the fucking fuck droid, not when they had the same gods damned programming and were ready and more than willing to practice their own pleasure droid programming on her! But Chloe Armstein wasn’t an easy woman to dissuade when she set her mind to something.

She glanced around the room at the cyborgs. “The ship’s old and not very comfortable, but make yourselves at home and help yourselves to the supplies.
Captain Chloe is a very nice girl who for some reason likes to collect and save stray cyborgs. Firstly she will save Jared and Kane from the frozen planet, then she will save Damon (her first lover) and three more prisoners (Lucien, Sebastian and Thor) from planet Thagorous. Apparently all six of them will fall in love with her like stray puppies who need a home.
While they try to escape, they will find Reuel (that we met in ) and his cyborgs and Chloe will try to lead all these homeless cyborgs to their new paradise, a planet where they will be free from humans and they can create their own city and evolve more.
The book is really funny. Especially when riots start in the ship because of the sexually frustrated cyborgs, their jealously and possessiveness. Basically most of cyborgs are virgins and they have just started feeling sexually awakened and they are not sure what they are supposed to do with it.
If you like reverce harem books and sci-fi romance, I could definitely suggest this book and this series.
3 "As many Cyborg dicks as your heart desires" Stars
Jared
Kane
Damon
Captain Chloe,
And let me see…there were three more guys, Sebastian, Lucien, and Thor. I should have posted pictures for them…but really…that's just three more dicks than Captain Chloe had holes for. But she was a trooper and managed to satisfy her six cyborgs. She even tried doing three at a time once, but that just turned into a nasty fight when the other three walked in on the orgy and got jealous. LMAO…I'm still laughing over that scene.
Captain Chloe was beyond stupid for the first 45% of the book, but managed to redeem herself by the end. Let me just say I am not a Prude and I am all for some multiple partner sexcapades…but six guys is three too many. I am still loving this series. Reuel, my favorite of the Cyborgs, shows up in this one and is just as Yummy as Ever!! *sighs*
I think these books are listed in the wrong order. This was listed as book 6, but the events in this book take place right after and before so it should have been listed as Book 2 of the series. I hate it when books get mislabeled, but it did not ruin the story for me.
The Awakening was apparently penned much later than this early entry to the Cyberevolution series and it shows. This had none of humor, thrills, or character chemistry of the high octane adventure that proceeded it. Chloe seems to be perfectly fine babysitting six possessive, sex-obsessed cyborgs that have very little personality outside of 'ooga booga' chest-beating, but that's not a story that holds my attention.
12/21/2015. I've read this before, but it's been a few years and I don't really remember this story. I'm raising my dating from *** to **** because I just love Kaitlyn O'Connor's humor. I have a lot of her books under this pen name and others, and I re-read some if them several times a year.
I took off 1 star this time, because 6 cyborgs are just too many. And, there was the spot where Damon became Damien. Also, I didn't recall reading a description of Chloe, and I like a physical description of book characters. There was more about the cyborgs than about Chloe.
When reading Ms. O'Connor's books I really try to put myself into her ditzy heroines more than with any other author. I think her stuff is highly amusing... such a head game in most of her books. I don't understand how someone can actually think this way, much less write it. Much different from any other writer I've come across. I can see how Chloe is not used to being around people, and her experiences in general are very limited because she lives on a space ship with never more than 3 others! Pairing that with cyborgs, whose communication skills are decidedly lacking, and there's plenty of fodder for this story. I actually like her quarrelsome cyborgs... they are like grumpy siblings.
I recommend this whole series... start at Book 1! It's my favorite cyborg series and one of my top menage series (but I like all of her menages).
The first book in this series was so good but I see the rest have devolved into ridiculous plots with stupid heroines and a silly attempt at humor which falls flat.
I adore Kaitlyn O'Connor's books, especially the Cyborg novels. Total Recall was no exception.
It's rare for me to read a book out of order and enjoy it, but Total Recall was the perfect opening to the Cyborg world. It was wonderful to see Reuel before he met his match. It was even better to read how the Cyborgs ended up on their new world. O'Connor does a wonderful job of making you believe in her world, in her characters. Heat, humor, and fast-paced writing all combine to make Total Recall an amazing read. Hell, she's going to make you fall in love with a Cyborg and you'll love every minute of it!
I hope she isn't finished with this series because I'd love to read more her world!
The thought didn't appeal to me at first then I remember reading from a few years back
and then I'm like
Cyborg lover? wait.. six cyborg lovers?
When's the next crew sign-up?
Enter Captain Chloe
Occupation: Salvager of stuff across space
See she and her dad stumbled upon broken cyborgs Kane and Jared when they salvaged Xeno-12 and she was pretty adamant to save them. Now both boys work for repairing ships and taking orders and sometimes playing board games with the captain to pass the time.
But oh-no 'total recall' happened and the company wants the boys back to disassemble them and she's like fuck-no-i'll-keep-this-piece-of-eye-candy.
But what about her Damon sexdroid back in the brothel from where she popped her cherry. Her sweet, loving and super pow-wow at bed Damon?
Okays, so she gets him then saves a bunch of these cyborg dudes along the way namely Lucien, Thor, Sebastian. That was great. More eye-candy !
And just when you think the plot will be lost beyond redemption
..swoops in Rogue leader Reuel to save the plot along with you-guessed-it mooooooooore cyborgs.
Captain Rogue has great idea. Maritime Sex Act.
whoop-dee-doo.
As enthusiastic as I want to be for this, my eyes kept skimming over the pages.
I HATED the dialogues between the 6 cyborgs!! HATE IT HATE IT! They would have been a lot more 'charming' if they didn't speak at all
WHAT'S WITH ALL THE 'GOD DAMNS FUCKING' SWEARING?!
I have nothing against swearing but this book?
Why would you inject every cyborgs' dialogues with 'gods damn fucking'??
Seriously, it's getting old.
And honestly, 'Mayhap' and 'Gods damn fucking' in one sentence?
Seriously?
Don't. Get. Me. Started. With. The. Sex. Scenes.
I was 50% percent confused all throughout the entire scenes. The writing was seriously confusing. I needed to reread a couple of lines more than a few times to understand.
What is this!!
Sex scenes and dialougues aside, the plot and world-building were great is all I can say.
2nd time reading. Another wonderful read. I've upped my rating because I enjoyed it so much. Had me crying through a third of the book, which I love. I had read a comment from another Goodreader who said that this author's heroine's are pretty much the same. I had the opposite conclusion. This woman was so different than Abiogenesis' Dahlia. Chloe is rough around the edges but extremely caring. The one thing the women do have in common is they look at actions and try to find out what the ulterior motive was, even criticizing themselves when they feel they contributed to any disharmony. In between my library books I'm planning on going through the entire series again.
Previous review 07/01/11 I should actually be book #1, it takes place about 6 months after the war on Xeno-12 and is when they find their own world. I think this is the last book in the series. And with the mix of humor and pain (sometimes both emotional and physical), it has become one of my favorite series.
I've always enjoy a Kaitlyn O'Connor book and this one is no exception. I will say that a O'Connor book is not for the faint of heart. There is group sex and more than one partner. She tells a good story and this book is no different.
Okay this was very amusing. But in the same vein as that first book in the series that I liked the most. They used the same jokes over again and just added 3 guys who weren't clearly differentiated and were basically gimmes. Still amusing, gonna try one more and then if no good then SWITCH!!
So there’s one woman, Chloe, and six cyborgs! Really? I lost count of who was who after three. Jared, Kane and Damon were more than enough. I personally thought this story would have been less confusing without the others.
Chloe was a bit helpless most of the time but she was okay. Her ill thought-out rescue of Damon annoyed me. Could she even shoot a gun? I just think the fact that she’d lived in space with guys all her life would have made her a bit more kickass. Much like the first book, I didn’t really get why her cyborgs loved her other than she was the only human girl they’d ever met.
Anyway they rescue cyborgs and go off in search of a planet where they can also settle. There’s a lot of inner reflection about whether she should join them or not but a HEA in the end.
Enjoyed this one a little less than the first. The constant brawling between the guys got old fast. Then there was Saline's psycho behavior that wasn't explained and came out of nowhere. And to be honest six guys are three too many in my book. The story got a few laughs out of me but the abrupt ending had me going 'really?'
Again, I felt like the other three cyborgs added something that didn't need to be added to the romance. I liked the original two and then the pleasure cyborg. The other three didn't make sense. Also not a fan of the Sex Act/Law though I understand it was a plot tool to drive erotica.
I almost DNF this story twice. I was annoyed with Chloe and her naivety. Then seriously, six? After not even a week she considers some of them her team? Then the bickering and posturing between the guys got old. Like a bunch of little kids.
continues the story that was begun in book 1, , of the "rogue cyborgs" on the run from "the company" that is out to exterminate them to cover up their illegal and unethical practices. The company secretly used a higher percentage of "farmed" human organs and material (because it was cheaper than bionics) in their cyborgs. This gave the cyborgs more human characteristics. When the cyborgs "awakened" and began functioning as sentient beings with independent will, the company issued a "total recall" so that the cyborgs could be destroyed.
Chloe (the heroine) is a space salvager. Her crew is comprised of two cyborgs, Jarrod and Kane, who she earlier nursed back to health when they were picked up as "scrap". Chloe also has fond memories of a pleasure cyborg, Damon, with whom she had her first sexual experience. When Chloe notices "changes" in Jarrod and Kane, she is at first convinced that there is something wrong with their programming--a defect that is causing them to believe they are experiencing physical and emotional feelings like humans. Although a cyborg sympathizer who is attached to her cyborgs, Chloe never gives them credit for the depth of emotions that they have. That makes her seem clueless, and she repeatedly causes them to be painfully jealous of one another. She never seems to figure it out.
Reuel (the Cyborg leader of soldiers Chloe welcomed onto her ship) is the most interesting and intelligent character. He rises above every fray and models tolerance for the frailties of humans and cyborgs, although he enforces discipline without hesitation. I hope we will see a romance featuring Reul and a human female in a later book in this series.
Chloe and her ship full of cyborgs must evade the company and the authorities as they look for a safe planet to start a new life. They also have to work out the problems that arise from extended cohabitation in close quarters aboard ship.
Although I didn't like this one as much as book 1, , it is still a fun read, and I am recommending the Cyberevolution> series to those who enjoy sci-fi action-adventure-erotica.
Kaitlyn O'Connors' books would most likely win the prize of worst book covers if a such a contest existed. I'm not saying that the books are equally terrible as the covers, in fact, I've loved most the of the books I've read written by her.
But not this one. This one is really bad. I hated the main character, Chloe is not the strong-willed and intelligent woman I'm used to read about on Kaitlyns' books.
Moreover, I'm starting to question if all aliens and cyborgs use the same expressions! Every time I read "Mayhap" I wanted to punch something. An advanced cyborg created by humans saying "Mayhap"? Shouldn't cyborgs speak like their creators?
Anyway, one thing that I also didn't enjoy was the fact that Chloe was in love (more like in lust) with a cyborg who took her virginity, when her dad decided to take her to a brothel! That was so ridiculous, and so unrealistic! Come on! Your dad takes you to a brothel? That just doesn't happen, no matter in which century you are born.
And why can't one character date and/or love only one man? Why? Is monogamy overrated? Not that I mind a little sandwich men action, but constantly reading about it makes me feel fed up with it.
These points I just made are just some of the few things I strongly disliked about this book. This book also helped me realize that I probably won't be reading more books of this series.
I never thought I'd say this, but... too many damn heroes in this book! Really, if you're going to put in 6 heroes (or however many there were..) they need to have the same exposure. They were just total carbon-copies of each other. Even Damon, who started out unique, ended up being exactly like the others. Which is extremely ironic, seeing as they start out as cyborg machines who are all exactly the same except physically and gain "awareness"... whatever.
Yes, the language use is starting to grate on me as well. "Nay", "mayhap", and whatever other medieval nonsense... are we reading about cyborgs or is this a historical novel? I understand their speech may be stilted, but that can be achieved by simply leaving out contractions... not by inserting words that were probably made obsolete centuries ago.
Chloe... I liked her in general, but... sooooo naive. And I do not like how every one of these cyborgs basically runs roughshod all over the women who are supposedly above them in command. That actually has me chewing my nails with worry for this cyborg nation. If the men cannot respect the chain of command, how is this place going to work out? And yet the other 50% of the time they are overly concerned with military matters. Everything they do is tackled in a military manner.
This of course does not detract from the cuteness of the cyborgs in general. XD I would like to sign up for this crew as well. And since I have more relationship and sexual experience than Chloe (it would be hard not to, tbh), that puts me in a good spot... :3
I really do like. You can never go wrong with in my humble opinion more than three men or males worcship you. It makes me giddy. They get all very protective and needy for you. I like the fact that the cyborgs are very protective and childlike sometimes in their jealousy towards another male encroaching on their territory. Which is a very confused very human woman. I start this way because I have a lot of thoughts on this story. First of all, the father the previous captian of the ship taking his young daughter to a brothel. I would have thought that he would have been more guarded towards her sexual wise. He did protect her from his men. But still why a brothel? Second issue for someone who was basically raised in space, won't she be more comfortable in space and being in charge if her ship. I mean come on! It's perfectly logical that if you do that job. You had to have qualifications for it. Or be some genius and be able to read people and hadle whatever curveball life throws at you. Sure she was human with a lot insecurities. but still to do a job like that you have to have a good head on your shoulders. I'm not going to complain about the males because they are males and it's expected. I loved that Ruel is a recurring character. And that he is hot. His hotness is very clearly written. He has a very Yoda like way about him that makes me melt. I'll continue reading the series because I'm very interested in the direction of where it's going.
While the first book in this series was entertaining and should be read first to understand what's going on, I definitely liked this story a LOT more. It was much funnier and I adored the cyborgs in this book. Chloe is a salvager and a few months earlier she and her father picked up two cyborgs, Jared and Kane, among a lot of other rubbage. They were dying, but she nursed them back to health. A few months later, her father now dead and the two other human members of her crew having left the ship, it is only Chloe and her two cyborgs for company, when she gets an alert that all S-class cyborgs have had a total recall by the manufacturer. Jared tells her they will be disassembled if she takes them back, so she determines to ignore the alert. Then she remembers that the sexdroid, Damon, to whom she lost her virginity and has had a crush on ever since, is an S-class cyborg. To Jared's and Kane's horror and jealousy, she sets off to rescue him, winding up not only with Damon, but Sebastian, Lucas, and Thor--three additional cyborgs that had been rounded up for the recall when Chloe arrives at Damon's planet. Things get even more complicated when General Reuel, the first cyborg to "awaken", joins Chloe's ship along with his cyborgs. A ver enjoyable read, I highly recommend this book.
What can I say? I love my Cyborgs. Even though this is # 6 it takes us back to the beginning of the series.
What I liked. The interaction between the men was funny to me, though some might not like the constant arguing. They had things to work out and I would rather it be with words than fists, although there was plenty of that, as well.
What I didn't. I wanted it to be longer, it should have resolved a few more things before you read The End.
I wanted to like this book, the premise sounded interesting. Chloe was an idiot! Her mental capacity sometimes was less than a child's. The one cyborg's character she was rescuing was never developed, the two main guys I ended up not liking due to their idiocy and fighting all the time, and the rest ... well I didn't stop reading cause i kept thinking it would get better. Nope.
This entry in the series felt rushed and fell mostly flat. The plot, the character motivations, even the sex were bleh. The best part of the story is Reuel, the leader of the cyborgs (who btw is neither a main character or a love interest). Ah well, better luck next time.
What happens when cyborgs awaken? They go through puberty. Lots of confusing feelings and instant brawls. It was entertaining but became tiresome. Then the Maritime Sex Act is applied.
Ok I was a bit disappointed in the way Chloe and her guys were handled plus 6 guys a a bit much if they do not get along . I read others books with 6 that weren't as chaotic.
