We final got to see more of Caitel¡¯s past and learn about Dranste. This was a wild ride and I¡¯m excited to see how everyone grows up in the next volume. And what¡¯s gonna happen with the fake son?

Rather disorganize and repetitive
I kind of want to say this volume was a bit of a hot mess. The first few chapters are new content, but they're not really doing anything with it and at one point it felt disorganized. It was very awkwardly cut between the first chapter and the second chapter, it just kind of left you hanging wondering what the heck was going on with this new kid. Then suddenly in chapter 3 he's back with minimal acknowledgments to what was going on. Once those three chapters were over, all these new characters are just gone and suddenly we're in flashbacks. The vast majority of this volume is a collection of random moments from all the earlier volumes and just rewritten from the emperor's perspective. Now, normally I'd say having nearly an entire volume dedicated to flashbacks would not be worth your time, and honestly if you really had to skip a volume this is the volume to skip, but I actually did enjoy having the ability to read the emperor's inner thoughts. I felt like there was some great insights. Problem was, there was so much of it that it took up the majority of this volume. The end results of reading this volume made me feel like the author as forgotten what the story they're trying to tell is. There's no progress in anything and it just leaves you wondering what was the purpose of this volume.
At the end of this volume Ria is 10 years old. According to the afterward the next volume is going to have her at 18 years old. That's a huge time skip, this suggests to me that maybe the next volume will be the last one in the series. There's got to be a reason that we're going from having nearly every year highlighted to skipping the chunk of time that the vast majority of manga likes to focus on. I'm actually quite surprised that we're not going to get the dramatic high school days and with all the love interests that she's been collecting already missing out on the dramatic puberty stuff seems like almost a missed opportunity. This is why it makes me think the author is either burned out or possibly running out of ideas. Maybe they're bored? In any case, I'd be surprised if there's much more left from the vibes I'm getting.
At the end of it all, even when you get what I would consider a miss I still like this series quite a bit. There's just something warm and happy about the story being told here. I think that anyone who got to this volume is probably a fan of the series too and actually would appreciate the content in this one volume. I guess you can tell, I have mixed feelings as far as my recommendation. Lol.

This edition felt like it didn't have much in the way of new content, but went over a lot of different points of view from Ria's childhood, especially from her "Papa". We do get some new insight into not only Caitel, but also Dranste and Asisi that is interesting. We have yet another little boy who seems angry and afraid at first but also seems to be thawing around Ria as well. The author comments at the end indicate that the next book will show Ria grown up, so that could be interesting, especially as a lot of the commentary and observation this time around is specifically about Ria as a child and how she seems different from other children, also pointing out her unknown importance to so many people, including Caitel, who makes a point of in general not liking or wanting to be around children. Ria isn't wrong when she thinks that Caitel's actions and explanations sound and look a lot like love despite his blunt refusal to call it that.

Uff, de repente me dieron un salto en el tiempo de 2, 6 y 8 a?os. La princesa ya vive sola, todos los chicos a su alrededor son caballeros y est¨¢n re grandes. Tantas cosas que me habr¨ªa gustado leer pero de las saltaron... Aunque ya era hora de que creciera m¨¢s y no de a puchito como ven¨ªa hasta ahora. Me encanta que ahora Kai puede decir abiertamente que la quiere, o que Asis est¨¢ m¨¢s relajado, Ferdel es el que menos cambi¨® pero bueno, igual es un buen personaje. Si quer¨ªan sorprenderme, todo el pinche tomo lo logr¨®, en especial ese final donde volvemos a ver al emperador de Praezia ??

3/25 The timeline for this one was all over the place. I couldn't see where this was going and was planning to give up on the series, but apparently she's finally an adult in the next one so I'll give it one more volume to show signs of a plot.
