The Reckless Damned #4

Luck of the Devil

Rate this book
One demon. One angel. A relationship that’s failed so many times. Could it really be just one human they’ve been missing?

Dagon

For centuries, Dimitri and I have tried to make it work. Each time we’ve been torn apart by our dominant natures, neither of us willing to back down. A hundred years ago, I thought he’d betrayed me in the worst possible way. In a fit of anger, we made a deal that led to my downfall.

Now Dimitri is back in my life, reshaping our history with the truth. But love still isn’t enough to make it work, not when being together tears us apart.

When he tells me he’s met our human mate, I can’t help but hope that Lucky will be the key to loving Dimitri the way I’ve always wanted.

But with Hell knocking at our door and an uprising threatening us all, can we persuade Lucky to give us a chance before it’s too late?

Dimitri

I haven’t given up on Dagon for one hundred years, and I won’t now.

When Lucky crosses my path, I finally understand why Dagon and I have never quite worked. Fate never intended us to be a couple…we were destined to be a triad. Lucky is the piece we need to complete us.

Winning Lucky over won’t be easy. Someone is hurting him, making him put up walls that are nearly impossible for us to cross.

But chasing Dagon has taught me that I’m a stubborn angel. I won’t give up on either of my mates.

Lucky

What an ironic nickname. Never in my life has anything lucky ever happened to me.

But everything changes when I meet Dagon and Dimitri. Two super-hot guys who aren’t put off by my inexperience? All my dreams are coming true.

Not for long though. Even with my boss and his family looking out for me, I know it’s only a matter of time before my past catches up to me.

So, for now, I’m going to soak up every drop of happiness Dimitri and Dagon have to offer.

Drink it up and pray they forgive me when I do what I always do.

Run…and don’t look back.

Luck of the Devil is an action-filled, fated-mates MMM paranormal romance with an HEA and no cliff-hanger. It is the final instalment in The Reckless Damned series, which is best enjoyed in order due to the overarching plot. Each book focuses on a different couple or triad and has an HEA.

Please tell me this is a joke. Because I will genuinely riot if it’s not.

Is this author seriously telling me that she gave us the perfect set up for the most epic love story with Dagon and Dimitri, only for her to turn it into a POLY ROMANCE!? Like, I’m sorry, but who asked for this to become a threesome? And WHY??
It’s just so weird that there’s gonna be this random dude added to the mix when these two have so much history and pining between them.

I mean, I’m sure that my general dislike for poly romances is clouding my judgement, but still. It seems like such a waste for these two to have someone else come inbetween them. They could have been so amazing. And now it’s just not.

I’m super disappointed and I’m honestly not sure I even want to read this anymore.

reread:
best comfort series that ever comforted.

btw after reading this entire thing back to back i can confirm that riley isn’t mentioned anywhere, therefore he will play some kind of big part at certain point. (my logic is that lark is sneaky and there are a TON of little things that make sense only in later books so yeah, riley? main character).
i don’t think i can wait a month and a half for ferry.
also, who the fuck is matty? sounds like another mc in my head.

original review:

big rant before the review because i tried to keep my mouth shut and obviously failed. scroll if you don’t care.

in italy we have a saying that goes “if you mind your own business, you’ll live 100 years. i have absolutely no intention of living that long, so let me start by addressing something. you have the right to be disappointed, you have the right to say whatever the hell you want, however if you rate a book when it’s not even out yet, you sound like a problematic twelve year old that hasn’t mastered their big feelings yet. if you’re actually 12, don’t read this book. however, if you’re out of high school, grow the fuck up. you don’t like a book, move on.
and if you think that the poly relationship came out of nowhere, reread the previous books while listening to exile by taylor swift, you’ll be bon iver that sings “you never gave a warning sign and lark is taylor “i gave so many signs, so many times. it will be an enlightening experience.

now, the review:
first of all i am shattered because this series has come to an end. yes, there will be a spin-off, but it would’ve been better if lucifer fucked like a damned rabbit and produced like a thousand kids. he had the time. he could’ve made me happy.

there is no way that i can express how perfect this is. there isn’t a single thing that i would change. well, i would like ferry’s book right now, but i digress.
they are so perfect together. perfect.
this couldn’t have been just dagon and dimitri. the triad makes so much sense and the author was phenomenal here. again, perfect.
i love them so much individually, but together? i would give my life for them. literally.
i would also like to say that dimitri and i have the same amount of tact, a number very close to zero. that made me laugh a lot.

i started this very well, taking notes so i could write a decent review at the end, but i absolutely failed and stopped. literally no thoughts just vibes. but i’m not mad, because for me that’s the best kind of reading experience. and really, were you expecting a serious review from me? are you new here?

i’m so happy i started this series and i’m so happy that this author just keeps getting better.

I LOVED THIS BOOK. Hands down, my favorite in the series. And completely worth the wait!

OK, so first off, you must read this series in order. Even though each book focuses on a new couple, all of the characters interact so much with each other in the whole series, and the overall story with Lucifer builds over the course of the series, so please read in order!

Dagon - a demon, and Dimitri - an angel - have struggled to make things work in the thousand years they have known each other. I love that we got a glimpse into them when they first met and were first circling each other and trying to make things work. I love that it wasn't until Lucky came into their lives, that everything just clicked into place. Dagon and Dimitri, both very alpha, need that person to care for and dote on, and have that extra gentleness in their lives. Lucky is perfect for them.

I have been anxiously awaiting Dagon and Dimitri's story, especially once we learned that they would have a third member in their mating. I adore Lucky, my heart broke for him when we first met him, and I LOVE these two for him. I honestly love how all the demons and their mates interact - from the group chats, to hanging out, to having food taste tests as a ploy to get Lucky more food. I love these demons and their love for their mates and found family.

Of course, being poly, one thing that can be tricky to navigate is making sure that no character, especially the new one coming into an established relationship, ever feels less than or like a third wheel. I think Lark did a fantastic job of navigating this and ensuring that Dagon, Dimitri, and Lucky are all equals in this relationship. And phew, these three had some incredible chemistry together!

Of course, we also have the growing struggle against their father, Lucifer, and it all comes to the climax and conclusion in this book. I won't say anything to ruin the surprise, but I love how everything played out. And I LOVE the setup for the spin-off series. There are already characters I want a story for, and I cannot wait to learn more about Ferry! (And Micah and Nox OMGGGG, and Sebastian! And Blaise and Tobyyyyy)

Definitely check out this series if you haven't already. It was one of my top favorite reads from last year and will continue to be this year. LOVE this author and I cannot wait for the next things from her!

All yall rating this 1 star when ARCs aren't even out to people yet purely b/c it's mmm - get a life.

Don't read the book, whatever. But don't sabotage the average rating purely because of your discomfort/dislike.

I received a copy of the book, and this is my honest review.

Holy mother of God. I’m dead. I’m alive, but I’m dead. What a fantastic end to a fantastic series. The conclusion of this series was a perfect mix of the romance we have all been waiting for, and the end to a fight that has had us chewing fingernails and sitting on the edge of our seat. I’m so in love with this series and how the author tied everything up with the princes of Hell.

When I realized in the last book that this book would be an MMM, I was shocked. I never expected that result, but it works SO well. This is the first MMM book that I have read that I can 100% understand the need for a poly romance, and in turn that makes this book my favorite MMM romance I have ever read.

This book was beefy. There was a lot going on with Dagon and Dimitri’s past, meeting Lucky, figuring out their relationship, fighting Lucifer, etc. It was fabulous, though. I have a lot going on in my life right now, so I would have to limit myself on reading time, but it’s so hard to do that with a good book. I would lay down at 9 p.m and be like, “Okay, we are going to read for a couple hours and go to bed. And then a few minutes later I would glance at the clock, and it would magically be 3:30 a.m. I loved it, though. I can handle being a little tired, so long as I have a good book.

I loved Dagon, Dimitri, and Lucky. Mori and River are my favorite couple, and this triad was giving them a run for their money. I loved figuring out Dagon and Dimitri’s past, even though some of it made me want to cry my eyes out. My poor Dagon. I’m so glad those two were able to meet Lucky, and finally have the relationship and love they deserve. Getting Lucky to lower his walls was a challenge for those two, though. Lucky is running from something, and he did not want to give in to Dagon and Dimitri. He didn’t want to get attached when he was inevitably going to leave. It made me want to hit Lucky upside the head. Like dude, you are mated to a demon and an angel. They can handle your problems. But in his defense, he didn’t know they were supernatural. He just thought they were in a mafia or something (haha).

The sex in this book is probably some of the best sex in this series, in my opinion. Threesome sex is always so good. They can get real creative, and that makes it very fun to read. Dimitri is also so so so so dirty. Who knew and angel would have the mouth of a demon?

The action at the end of this series was wild. I actually got nervous reading it. Lucifer made an appearance in this one, and I have been waiting to meet daddy dearest. Does it make me a bad person that I wouldn’t mind reading a book about him? Could you imagine a little twink whipping him into shape? What if he called him Lucy!!! I need to send this author a fan letter. Anyway, the action was really good. I don’t read much books that contain action, and this book made me question why I don’t. Fabulous.

I’m going to miss this series. I believe the author is going to have spin off books for some of the side characters, so that’ll be absolutely fabulous. That way I won’t have to say goodbye to my princes of Hell and their mates.

Luck of the Devil is a great way to end this epic series. I was so intrigued by how Dimitri and Dagon would finally get their HEA, considering the many years they have tried making their relationship work. They finally realize they are both missing something in their relationship, which is why Lucky is the perfect person to even out their sharper edges and give both Dagon and Dimitri someone to care for, possess and protect.

I find a triad relationship tricky in finding the right balance between all the characters. All of my worries were quickly and succinctly put at ease due to the way this author is able to delegate everyone's experience and perspective. Dagon, Dimitri, and Lucky all of their moments to shine and allow their presence in their dynamic to take center stage.

I also appreciated the slow building of this relationship. Lucky at first fears being a third wheel, without realizing his pivotal role and place in this relationship. This aspect of the story takes its time, which I really enjoyed. I also loved when truths are revealed, which then really ramps up the intense action and final act of the story. This part never really relents and creates such an intense and satisfying ending for all characters.

I am saddened to see this series end, there are many other stories in this universe I really want to see realized. Although the brothers have their HEA, I look forward to seeing their appearances in future stories.

DNF - 70% Dimitri and Dagon had so much potential, enemies to lovers with a long history and lots of tension throughout this series so far. Unfortunately turning things poly just made it feel cheap and it lost the vibes of two strong characters coming together. These two turned into bumbling uncles to their romantic partner, doting on him in cringey ways and basically losing all their demon/angel badass integrity. This went way too fluffy too fast. Lucky felt like an awkward plaything for Dagon and Dimitri. I didn’t buy into their romance and the repetitive smut is boring me. Wish this had more depth and development.

Lark Taylor is an absolutely amazing writer! Every book I read seems to just get better! This book has now taken over the spot of my favourite book in the series and my favourite book by this author overall! If you haven’t started this demon series yet what are you waiting for???? Definitely make sure to start at book 1. They should definitely be read in order to fully appreciate the awesomeness!

Dagon, Dimitri and Lucky were an amazing triad. I loved everything about their relationship and the characters on their own, in couples and the full triad. The demon and angel were a lot different than I was expecting. Dagon was a lot softer and sweeter and Dimitri was more blunt but I really enjoyed their dynamic and how they very much loved each other but would do anything for Lucky!

Not only is the romance amazing in this book but the plot kicks up a huge notch as well! Lots of action and not knowing what’s going to happen next. It was a wonderful mix and very well done! I’m so happy with their HEA and it was great to see them altogether at the end.

I 100% recommend this book, series and author! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and fall in the wonderful rabbit hole of Lark Taylor stories!

Where do I start?
Well, I enjoyed "Luck of the Devil" quite a bit: it's no surprise that Lark Taylor's writing works for me. Her debut, "The Devil's Mark", was an absolute gem and I loved the two sequels too, especially River and Mori's story.

I think I need to point out that this was my first MM+/poly romance, and that probably starting with an ARC wasn't precisely a good idea; sometimes I need a few books to warm up to a specific genre or trope, but regardless of that, I was very much looking forward to giving this one a go, especially since I'm such a big Lark Taylor fan and I've been excited and curious about Dagon and Dimitri's story since the very first time we meet them.

Anyway, I ended up enjoying this story and there are a lot of elements I truly loved.
First of all, the plot and the action: the whole book, but especially those last few chapters, kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The conclusion to this series is gripping and thrilling and exciting, and I really loved how everything was wrapped up in a satisfying way, while leaving enough loose ends for more stories in Taylor's magical universe.

I also loved the writing, and of course, the world-building: it's rich and varied and complex, and I can't wait to see more of it.

I also adored the rich cast of characters, both side and main, and the fantastic, heart-warming found family they've managed to create together: the found family aspect was probably my favourite thing of the entire book (and series!), and it shine through here.

But what about the main romance, the triad between Lucky, Dimitri and Dagon?
I gotta say, I was very surprised by the author's decision to turn Dimitri and Dagon's second-chance romance into a poly romance with Lucky as the final person to finally complete (and in some ways, stabilise) their relationship. I wasn't disappointed per se, but I'm a sucker for second-chance romances, and I couldn't help but kinda mourn the "what-would-have-happened-if".
But yeah, I'm not going to dwell on that because the author knows best, and I think that, regardless of my personal preferences, Dimitri and Dagon here wouldn't have worked without Lucky, so there's that.
They definitely needed a third in that sense. So yeah, I ended up enjoying their romance quite a bit, and there were tons of moments that made me swoon and fan myself.

Regardless, I still had a great time with this novel: it's fun and entertaining and emotional, and the affection and love that ties Dimitri, Lucky and Dagon comes through loud and clear.
"Luck of the Devil" was a satisfying conclusion to this series, and I enjoyed getting to see the gang together one last time (as protagonists, obviously; I'm hoping we'll get to see them again in the next series!). That last chapter was amazing and hilarious and heart-warming, and I have only one thing left to say: River, my disastrous, horny son, I love you.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Book 4 in the Series.

So before I give my review I’m gonna list some things about this book to entice you to read it NOW!

MMM, hot as fuck men, Angel/Demon/Human, British banter, chapter 11, DP, possessive arseholes, super over the top protective men, did I say MMM, all the damm feels, amazing found family, massive fight, oh and it’s MMM!!!

So this book! Lark edged me so damm bad, right to the last pages!!! She made me shout and swoon, and have to defend my hot flushes to my husband as me starting the change 😳

This is the 4th and last book in the series and god damm did it go out with a bang!! When I say it has gone to the top of my best read book this year I’m not lying, it’s knocked off another amazing book so you know this one is top notch!!

These men were EVERYTHING!! I can’t even!!!!

Dimitri and Dagon have been together for century’s, but they don’t work and they can’t figure out why they can’t complete the bond. Dagon is about to give up on them ever being happy as the alphas just don’t fit together right, but Dimitri has already met HIM, the human that is theirs and will complete the bond. All he has to do is convince Dagon to meet him and then for them both to bring out the big guns and try to woo this broken, timid man. Oh and go back to Hell, nothing to complicated!!!

Jeeeze I loved every minute of this thiccc book! I’ve been looking forward to for at least 50,000 years!!! The banter and possessiveness over their mates gives me tingles I love it so much. I’m really hoping for all these new characters to get a book!! Go read this brilliant series!!

“I may have…stalked you a tiny bit. He slid nearer, and my skin tingled.
“How much is a tiny bit? I shivered, unable to think with him so close.
“Like, every time you came to Earth? Maybe?

I recommend going and reading my reviews on the other books in this as well because man did I just plow right through them.

Book 1 - : review here

Book 2 - : review here

Book 3 - : review here

Book 4 - this review

I still really loved this one but it was probably my least favorite of the series. I only say this because there were three MMC’s it felt like we lost the personality between Dimitri and Dagon a lot. They really just started to blend together, which was so hard for me because there was such this build up between them in the first few books and to have them just start to mesh into one personality while reading them was a little of a bummer.

That being said though, I still was super into the whole thing and it probably had the most action and adventure out of all of them so far.

Lucky, Dagon, and Dimitri were perfect for each other, and the spice was *chefs kiss* .

I’m very very very picky about my MMM romance reads, they either disappoint me or fall flat a lot of the time because they aren’t done super well. That is not the case here, other than my one little qualm about the personalities melting together, it was done super super well.

We end with a bang for sure!

This book was worth every little tease given to us in the precious books about the relationship between Dagon and Dimitri. I was so curious to understand why they were never able to be together, to learn what led to their heartbreak and this book answered it all.

I felt so much for Dimitri and everything he went through all those years ago when a misunderstanding led to him loosing Dagon for a century 🥺. He waited for him and never strayed from their promise to always be there.

Dagon was heartbroken and had a very hard time dealing with the loss of Dimitri. Once he learned the truth of what happened so long ago and their missing piece was finally revealed, he was all in. I loved seeing the bond between Dagon and Dimitri being mended, how they refused to ever let anything else come between them. The way he called him Dima had my heart melting 🥰.

Their first meeting with Lucky was hilarious. How two immortal angel/demon can be so tongue-tied and awkward was just too funny 😂. Lucky had a hard time letting them in because he needed to run from his past and didn’t want to get attached. He was the sweetest and kindest human, but I also loved seeing him put his two mates in their place when their fussing was excessive. He adapted to his new reality and learning of the supernatural world with an open mind.

MMM books always scare me because I fear one of the character will be less involved/included in the relationship. It was NOT the case in this book. Even though Dagon and Dimitri had an established bond already, Lucky was never made to feel like a third wheel. They all loved each other so fiercely and it was beautifully written.

Harlow, once again, was one of my favourite characters. He included Lucky right away in their little family and made him feel right at home 🥹.

"Our love story isn't a pretty one."

"Neither of us comes out of it looking great."

Like most fans of The Reckless Damned series, Dagon and Dimitri's book was one I was looking forward to ever since we were given that first hint that there was history between them. I knew they loved each other. That was never in question for me, especially since every time Dagon got hurt Dimitri inevitably came running, or well flying I guess. What I didn't know was why the hell these two weren't together. I mean it had to be something major if it was keeping them apart despite how much they loved one another. And as it turns out, there were a few reasons, that once added together led them to where they are when the book begins.

We left off in book 3 with Dimitri having met Lucky. Not only was this a shock to Dimitri who knew Dagon to be his mate, but it also filled him with hope. Hope that Lucky was the missing piece of the puzzle Dagon and Dimitri needed to complete them. Because not only could he tell the human Lucky was his mate, but that Lucky was fated to be Dagon's as well. A triad. Finally they had a reason their bonding never took. It was because they were missing Lucky.

As alpha males Dagon and Dimitri butt heads often. They longed to be needed, to protect those they loved. The problem is neither man wanted the others protection and it led to many an argument between the two. Lucky joining their relationship provided them an outlet for this need. He was vulnerable and human. Not to mention Lucky ate that shit up when both his mates doted on him. He'd had a hard life and no one deserved the devotion of two men more than him. Honestly all three of them hadn't had it easy so I was ecstatic they were finally finding some happiness for once. And when the three of them got down and dirty? Whoa nelly! 🔥🔥 DP anyone?

"Dagon was sweet with you tonight.

But I won't be."

I must say I am looking forward to the future spin offs of this series and crossing my fingers for a few. I think Ferry's is next, but a few other couples are teased and I need them all!

This was definitely my least favourite of the four books.

I understand why MMM was used for the overarching plot (heaven, hell, earth) but it just didn't work. The relationship felt completely forced so it wasn't a believable romance for me. Dimitri and Dagon had so much history, and so much potential to be an epic enemies to lovers story, but Lucky just felt like a spare part. When Lucky said they only wanted him because they couldn't complete their mating bond and be together without him, I was in total agreement! It did feel like that and you can't claim Dagon and Dimitri weren't good together as a couple because they were both too Alpha and dominant, yet have their book follow River and Mori's who are *omg* both Alpha and dominant! It made no sense, and kind of ruined the end of this series for me personally! I am a fan of poly / MMM when everyone feels like a true part of the relationship, but this just gave super strong third wheel vibes.

There were also far too many sex scenes and I ended up skimming through them after a few because it was repetitive, didn't add to the story and overall just felt like over justification of why a poly relationship was used. I always wonder if it's an Ace perspective, but why in the middle of a war, or in a time critical situation are you stopping to get off?? For me it makes no sense, get the job done and then entertain yourselves!! This genuinely always annoys me because it slows the story and makes the plot / smut feel unbalanced.

Other than the focal relationship of the book, I actually really enjoyed the conclusion of the ongoing story and I'm keen to see Toby's story. Also, as much as Micah annoyed me, I'm hoping we get a true enemies to lovers, demon and angel story for him, and I really want Ferry's story too.

Reseña breve:

“We aren’t asking to be our third whell. We’re asking you to be our purpose.

Meh. 2.5 stars rounded up. As usually happens near the end of even the most mediocre series, I do have a bit more enjoyment due to attachment to all the other characters.

That being said, it was absolutely absurd to make Dimitri and Dagon a throuple with random, personality-less human Lucky. They were set up so well in previous books and I legit found it embarrassing how they were treated in this book like “we were toxic and “we’re both too alpha to be together just the two of us, etc. It really stole the romance.

I feel meh about it all.

Amazing finale to the series. This was paranormal/urban fantasy at its finest. Loved the mix of action and romance. The triad was perfect together, and two alphas finding a little mate to dote on was adorable.
Also enjoyed how Lark Taylor tied everything together in the end, it made the story feel complete with no loose ends.

CW and tropes (spoilers):
- MMM
- demon-angel-human
- fated mates
- found family
- orphan mc
- hurt/comfort
- past abuse
- Asian rep
- virgin mc

Are they meant to be? Dagon, one of Lucifer’s four children, and Archangel Dimitri run in circles around each other for centuries.
Dagon thought he got betrayed and cheated on, but oh boy, was he wrong.
There are centuries of hurt, so much, after they exchanged marks, the bond couldn’t be complete, they were so sure.
Somehow they aren’t compatible, as if something is missing.

“I’ll tell you a secret: an angel’s impulse control is as bad as a demon’s. We just hide it better.

When Dimitri and Dagon understand Lucky is their mate, a mate who seems to have bruises, they conclude to keep him safe, eliminate the threat, and convince Lucky he belongs to them.
A bit easier said than done. Lucky is convinced he doesn’t deserve love.

“Our lips met, and I knew I was lost. This moment was everything. It was the start of the rest of our lives.

Dagon who feels inferior to his brothers, is convinced they don’t need or even want him. Oh my sweet Dagon, if you only knew.

Let's not forget the threat of Lucifer, the Uprising and the ghasts. I’m not gonna spoil it, just read it all yourself! Let’s just say it’s quite spectacular! Goosebumps all over!

Dragon and Dimitri’s healing process made me emotional, they so deserved their happiness, they’d come so far.
Finding Lucky was everything they needed. This triad worked so well, the chemistry is scorching.

The magic about fated mates is the deep-bone understanding, the feeling in your soul, knowing without even knowing how, when you see your mate it’s BAM. Finally finding your solid ground under your feet. I love this so so much. That’s why I felt so emotional when they finally found their third.
The circle is round.
The author did such an extraordinary job writing their story. It was everything.

Beautiful triad relationship with lots of steam.

Dagon and Dimitri desperately wanted to be a couple but there was always an issue with their relationship. As much as they loved each other and had marked each other, there’s no longed for bond which they searched for answers, for centuries, with no luck. Neither were willing to compromise on what they wanted from the relationship when they both needed someone to protect and dote on, and they couldn’t be that for each other. Until Lucky. Then the missing puzzle piece fell into place, a buffer to their alpha like tendencies, a mate to both, a human to smooth their frayed edges and knit them all together.

Lucky’s life has been nothing but hardship and he doesn’t find trust for others easy to come by so when Dagon and Dimitri woo their mate it doesn’t come easily for them. Of course as fated mates the chemistry between them all is sizzling and it doesn’t take long for the heat to ignite but the Angel and the Demon work long and hard to make Lucky feel cherished and safe for the first time in his life.

There’s plenty of action and drama to balance the romance element in this very engaging and enjoyable read along with some angst. Lucky takes some convincing before he truly believes he’s not there to just to be a bridge between Dagon and Dimitri, but is an integral and equal member of the triad. Lucifer and his minions cause chaos as per usual but that doesn’t stop these three wonderful characters from getting their hard earned and well deserved HEA. I loved every moment of this final book in the series and even though it’s the series end, my heart was happy.

For those people that are giving a 1 star rating without even reading the book because you didn’t want it to be MMM - show some respect for the author. If it’s not your jam don’t be mean with bully like behaviour. You DON’T have to read it, don’t give it 1 star just to vent you’re disappointment.

A fantastic ending to the series!

Dagon and Dimitri found each other centuries ago and were devastated when the mating bond didn’t take, they tore each other apart trying to make it work and figure out what they’d missed. Turns out they were missing their third which became apparent when they met Lucky. Lucky didn’t feel he was deserving of the love and care Dagon, Dimitri and their family were trying to bestow on him.

In the background you have an uprising in hell, an attempt to replace Lucifer and suddenly the possibility of the apocalypse makes the prophecy surrounding the three of them impossible to ignore. Together with Dagon’s family and some surprising support they have to work to save the world and keep hell where it belongs.

Lucky, Dimitri and Dagon were absolute perfection together, I loved everything about their relationship. How Dimitri and Dagon worked together to support Lucky and make him his best self, the character development for all of them was perfect.

I’ve absolutely loved this series and I can’t wait to see more from Lark 🖤

My LORD. The big finale in this series was EVERYTHING. The love, the grumpy/sunshine vibes and the action of the over arching plot throughout the series wrapping up was truely everything I wanted it to be. Dimitri and Dagon, the angel and the demon have been teased throughout the series as this possible couple that couldn’t quite get it right and I’m telling you, the way they needed their human Lucky to tie it all up was magical, I was swooning the whole time. The way the gruff boys absolutely dote on the struggling Lucky is perfection, but don’t let that fool you - their little human is the strongest and I loved him wholeheartedly. The brothers and their partners were as always, hilarious with perfect demony banter too. Seriously, if you haven’t read this series yet, please start its magical and I loved every book & couple.

I have very conflicted feelings about LUCK OF THE DEVIL so I'm just going to jump right into this review. I've enjoyed this series from the beginning and it's been fun seeing these demon brothers find their mates and fight against Lucifer. As a series finale I thought it did a pretty good job with the final battle and delivering a pretty satisfactory ending for everyone. But getting there was slow and a bit boring in some of the middle parts and I found myself losing interest a couple of times. The biggest reason why was because each chapter would go back a bit in the story and quickly rehash what had just happened, this time from a different character's POV. It wasn't a word-for-word recap or anything but it was enough to disrupt the story flow and slow down the pace.

Outside the overarching series plot was the initially tumultuous relationship between Dagon, Dimitri, and Lucky. I think I might have been the only reader of this series that didn't really care about Dagon and Dimitri prior to their book. What can I say, I don't really like enemies to lovers. When I found out Lucky would be both Dagon and Dimitri's fated mate I was really excited and maybe my anticipation for this book got too high to live up to.

If you're looking for some high heat MMM action then this book will deliver that in spades, but Dagon and Dimitri's POV chapters were not distinct at all and as characters, they were basically the same person and the majority of their personality was centered on making Lucky happy. I also think the emotional connection (outside of the fated mates attraction) could have been stronger if readers had the chance to see Lucky bonding with each guy individually. And I don't mean sex, I mean getting to know them as separate people rather than spending pretty much every second as a group.

Overall, I think this series started out strong but struggled a bit along the way. While this last book didn't quite deliver for me I am interested in reading more by Lark Taylor.

Content Warning: blackmail and stalking; on page panic attack; references to past abusive relationships of side characters

“I felt the same way when I saw him. Like he’s the final piece of myself that I’ve been searching for without even realising it. It doesn’t diminish the love I have for you. He hasn’t taken over a part of my heart you already own. It’s simply doubled in size to make room for him.

I'm very picky with MMM romances so I was nervous going into this one but thankfully I had nothing to fear. This is hands down my favorite of the series. I just adored Dagon, Dimitri, and Lucky so much and have zero complaints on them individually, together or their story.

I've been so excited to read this, since it released! A captivating series finale. I'd fun binging this series!
A MMM paranormal romance b/w Demon, Angel, Human Action-packed story with ALL THE FEELS! I loved Dagon, Dimitri, Lucky; & devoured this in around 12hrs (over 2days). This was the longest book in the series, I enjoyed it all! Gosh, LOVE these brothers & world so much 😍.

Dagon is 1 of the younger "(former) Princes of Hell" demon brothers. Jokester of the group, also spent extra time down in Hell. Protective, cocky, vicious yet so soft, caring for his mates. #PansexualRep
Dimitri is an archangel. A sexy bad boy, stubborn, blunt, possessive, filthy talker, & totally whipped for his mates!
Lucky is a human who works in Mori's club. An orphan of S•Korean descent, been blackmailed 😠 & running from a betrayal. Inexperienced in love (& sex), shy, cautious 🥺 but beneath it is resilient, bossy & sassy.

In the last 3 books, I've loved each interaction of Dimitri & Dagon! They've centuries long history as we see here. Enemies yet secret lovers. A deep connection broken due to being too alpha & stubborn. A fallacy & deal. Hurt so bad, but now they've a 2nd chance —with Lucky, their missing piece, purpose, the 1 who balances them. Winning L over isn't easy, but our guys ain't giving up. A beautiful bond, fated mate triad 😘.

The story unfolds with flashbacks, D&D clearing the air (finally 🥺), Lucky meets 🤤, Win plan 🤭, Insecurities & hurt 😭, Tension 🙁, confront 🤬, all the truths (& supes!), Lake Cabin, & the sweetness 😍. I loved the 3's dynamics, how they fit, care for & lift eachother up, banter! I love PolyAm, Lark did it well. The sexy times are HOT. Teaching L, kinky (voyeur) fun. They're so sweet 🥰.

The action 😈 is PACKED, uprising & 3's prophecy! Climax is f'ing intense with Lucifer himself, attacks & WAR, the human mates standing up to their nightmares (I'm proud 🤗), deals, & a fall! The ending's swoony, HEA well-deserved. Loved it, so happy there's a spin off series 😭.

Story ratings: (Enjoyed 5+/5)

POV: 1st Person, Triple POV
1) The Characters & relationships: 5/5
2) The feels: 🤫😳🤨🙁😆🤗😘🥺🤐🤒🤯😍🤤🥰😏🥴🤬😦😜😄🥵😊
3) Story & world: 5/5
4) Sexy/Steamy scenes: 4/5
5) Levels: Mildish Angst, very Cute, Mild Dark (Past abuse, Paranormal killing stuff)
6) Writing style: 4.8/5

P.s. Always wanted to write that Lark took Ariana's song "God is a Woman" literally here. Love it lol! The bonuses were fun 😍🥵.

Audiobook ⭐⭐⭐⭐

As usual Dan Calley and Joel Leslie did a wonderful job with this... They need applause 💋
This book was so beefy and I love Dagon and Dmitri wanted some more alone time with both of them just exploring themselves... But I also felt like before Lucky they did all that. I also enjoyed figuring out Damon's and Dimitris past even though some of it made my eyes well. My poor sweet dagon. I also felt like Dagon and Dmitri were never truly complete... Both of them are too controlling for each of their sakes 😹
They needed something to fuss over, to protect and care for🙂
I'm actually glad they met lucky though and finally having the love they deserved.
And then there's Lucky... Getting him to lower his walls was a challenge he didn't want to get attached to both of them when he was inevitably going to leave. It made me want to smack him on the head 😒 like dude you mated to a demon and angel they can handle your Problems but in his defense he didn't know they were supernatural.
He just thought they were in the Mafia or something 😹

The sex in this book was something I will tell you that 😹 and it's one of the best sex scenes in the book... After Harlow's of course (just my opinion though 🙂) I don't think anyone would top harlow for now 😹
I'm sorry 😔
Threesome sex is always good they can get real creative and it can be fun to read.
Dmitri is so so dirty 😹😭 gawd who knew an angel would have the mouth of a demon
I think this is one of the reasons I loved his Character the action in this book was wild 😭
I hesitated to listen to it to be honest and I actually got nervous reading it
Lucifer made an appearance in this one and fuck I have been waiting for daddy dearest 😭😹
Does it make me a bad person cause I actually do want to read a book about him😔
Do you imagine a little Twink whipping him into shape...

This was a great conclusion to the series that leaves plenty of open threads for future spin offs. Dimitri, Dagon, and Lucky are perfect together- almost too perfect at times. I loved them, but wished we had a little more angst, especially between Dimitri and Dagon, whose on and off love story spans centuries. There were some wonderful flashbacks to their time together, but I wish we'd had some more. Nevertheless, it becomes obvious how much they've needed Lucky. He's able to call both of them out on their bullshit, while also giving each of them someone to dote on. There was so much love, while also having some veryyy hot sex scenes. The overarching story that's developed over four books comes to a head in this one, and I find the way the conflict was resolved to be satisfying. I'm genuinely sad to say goodbye to these demons and their mates, but I'm hopeful we'll get them as side characters in the upcoming books about the myriad of characters whose love stories have been teased from the sidelines (Ferry and ?, Blaise and Toby, Nox and Micah (an angel/demon pair who genuinely hate each other), and maybe Matty and...Sebastian? (the contrast between them would be great) ).
