The Reality of Wright and Wrong

Rate this book
What do you do when you catch your fiancé grinding on another woman? Well, if you're me, you run off with a sexy, ink-covered tattoo artist who goes by the name Wrong.

Then you marry him after a week.

This isn't a story of love at first sight--love didn't come into play until after I had ruined it all. It's the reality of what is right and what is wrong when it comes to soulmates.

"Save me and have me, fix me and I'm yours."

Leddy Harper

Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.

She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.
The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.

The blurb sounds interesting. It was. However, try as I may, I cannot feel the genuineness of Brogan and Mercy's love towards each other because everything happened so fast. So, instead of feeling, it felt more like I was being told that what they had was real.

You can't blame me especially since he plays around a lot. Yet after he sees her, he's a goner. He was burned before but was not afraid to chase after her.

She's somehow a commitment phobia. A runner.. I guess she was just born that way. Thinks a lot. Afraid of something bad will happen. Unsure of everything. Have trust issue.

Their getting to know stage was limited. Other than in bed. It has some drama although I find

However, the author still manage to stir my emotions when it comes to Brogan. Whenever he was hurting, I felt it too... which was good. What I cannot stomach though is that

I love the poetry and the epilogue.

This book was just so... Much.

So much emotion. So much getting to know the characters. So much plot development. Just so much everything.

I liked Mercy. Maybe I didn't ever quite reach loving her, but I liked her a lot. I also liked her best friend Stella. But who I fell in love with from the very beginning was Wrong/Brogan. He was so patient and kind and supportive and loving. He was everything I could want in a book boyfriend, including the tattoos.

This story was an angsty journey that ended in the best way. Leddy Harper has another winner on her hands with this one.

Me. Harper took my dream man and turned him into a delectable, heart stopping book beau. I can’t picture a man more perfect than Brogan. Even his name made me swoon. I was teased from the blurb, the line dangling in front of me just begging me to bite, and boy did I. She then reeled me in with the beautiful prose, The details so vivid and wonderful that she had me completely at her Mercy. (See what I did there? ;) )

This story is unique, showing us yet another side of her writing that makes you want to devour every word she’s ever written, and beg her to give you more. I look forward to seeing what she can come up with next.

The premise of this book was promising, and I did like it. I thought it was very romantic, and just what I needed. That being said I did not love the heroine. she was an idiot. A simpering, can't make her mind up idiot. She annoyed me to no end, but wrong was oh so right. He was patient, romantic, practical, and hot. The story was well plotted out, and the characters flowed well together. This story is told in dual pov.

I love it when the title is intentionally misspelled in order to match something in the story. It also has a double meaning. The first meaning comes from the blurb (It’s the reality of what is right and what is wrong when it comes to soulmates. ) and the second is from the character names. Our heroine is named Mercy Wright and our hero's nickname is Wrong and everything with the exception of Mercy calls him that. His real name is Brogan.

Mercy is a commitment-phobe and it's obvious from the very first page. It's also the reason why her relationship with Brogan was not always smooth. She was always trying to find the way out. Brogan was the glue in their relationship. Both of them were trying, but I felt like he was the one who put the most effort in it. He is raw and hurt and he is trying to have a good marriage with the woman who came into his life. He certainly is book boyfriend material and I loved him.

The one thing I didn't love about this book was Indy and Brogan's hookups. In the past, these two were frequently hooking up and it was mentioned a few times. I was not a fan of the idea of the two of them working together and having Mercy in the picture. I didn't mind the mention of the other random women, but it felt more with Indy. Still, I liked Indy and I would like to read her story.

The Reality of Wright and Wrong is one of the few books that managed to get me out of my book funk and I enjoyed reading it, up to the point where Mercy's commitment phobia became too much. Overall, this book is one I would recommend since I enjoyed reading it and the characters were good.

This is my third Leddy Harper ARC! I am beyond grateful to receive such an awesome opportunity.

This is the love-story of Brogan "Wrong" Daniels and Mercy Wright... hence the title... Brogan is a well-known tattoo artist and a reality tv star unbeknownst to Mercy... He is pretty intense and broody and keeps his cards close to him. Mercy is a wide-eyed, fresh college grad armed with a teaching degree. She was going to surprise her fiancé by flying in early but caught him in a compromising position with another woman in the club.. She upped and left without saying anything then got drunk... long story short, she and Brogan met outside the bar and that's when it all began...

I'm too pragmatic to throw caution into the wind and find myself shacking up with a complete stranger and then gone ahead and married him within a week—without even confronting the (ex-)fiancé first off.

I mean, I understand Brogan has a commanding presence and is so easy on the eyes but still, she's a grown, intelligent woman... and I guess she was emotional and distraught because of what has happened, and he was her knight in shining armor. I mean what happens when the fog clears out and ya'll realized you don't know this person at all??... thank goodness none of them turned out to be crazy, psychotic serial killers... but in true whirlwind romance fashion, the pet peeves started to manifest as the days went by... doubts kept on creeping in... your ideas and his ideas don't match... etc.

But thats the beauty of Love... you don't know when it sneaks up on you and of course you fall for the most unlikely person... I'm still pragmatic, but I do believe that when it hits you, you're powerless over it... anything is possible in the world.

To tell you the truth, I didn't like Mercy that much... I feel like she was exasperatingly flaky. But I guess it was part of the story... for her to be that way.

I've read many with the same storyline but romance is romance, and I'm a huge romantic sap... And I'd like to conclude that Brogan is by far my favorite... he maybe a tad closed off for my liking but it doesn't overshadow his sweet, softer side. I remember, while I was reading the book, I was like I wish he was real and I wish there were more guys like him, lol.

This is not only a story about love, but also a story about resilience and taking chances... and to never give up on someone based on misplaced pride.

For the fans of Monica James, Lila Monroe and Stacey Lynn, this is the book to pick up next.

What’s more important to follow - your heart or your head? Is there such a thing as fate and soulmates? Do you take a risk on a feeling?

Mercy Wright and Brogan “Wrong Daniels meet in not the best of circumstances. There may have been an instant attraction but the deep pull and chemistry that built throughout the story is what lured me in. The premise of their story and the questions about their pasts and future were more than enough to keep me turning those pages. I wanted to know them better as they got to know each other better. The sureness of Brogan made me swoon and the cautiousness of Mercy had me edgy.

The Reality of Wright and Wrong gave me what I wanted in a romance - a thoroughly enjoyable escape.

And I don’t very often do this but I thought this line was perfect from their story:

Because fate doesn’t make sense.

YASSSSSSS! The book matched the cover in greatness! I loved this book hard. Great characters and storyline. Let me just say that Bogan could be my "Wrong" any day! Hes a super intense man. He knows what he wants and when he wants it. Not afraid to go after it. Love that about him. Mercy, however, almost made me mad a couple times. I legit wanted to shake her and be like look woman.... Get it together. The angst of their relationship had me all in my feels. I loved it. Amazing read. Extremely well written and great flow. Definitely one I wont be forgetting anytime soon.

If loving Wrong is wrong, I don't want to be right. Mercy Wright is not sure if she believes in fate or soulmates, but she can't deny the instant connection with Brogan, whose nickname is Wrong. For Brogan, he knows Mercy is the one, his soulmate. Now if he could only convince Mercy they belonged together. There are many twists and turns that threaten their relationship. Brogan and Mercy have to trust each other and trust that what is meant to be will always find a way. Sometimes fate just needs a little help along the way. Are Wright and Wrong right for each other, or is the timing wrong for them? Another amazing book from Leddy Harper!

Dear Leddy,

Your middle name should be One-of-A-Kind! Dope! You just don't know how much I love your words. You just don't know how much I was craving on your works. You have a superb writing. Luckily, I was able to read an advance copy of the The Reality of Wright and Wrong, thanks to your generosity. You never cease to amaze me. I need more of your works, dear. But I tell you this, I want to kill your heroine slowly!

Annemarli, xo

The Reality of Wright and Wrong by Leddy Harper, I must admit was never in my radar up until just recently. So recent enough that I almost begged her for an advance readers copy close to her realese. Being gone for long in the book community, I just couldn't pass this one up. She's one of those amazing authors with amazing plots I keep on coming back for more. So here I am, gushing over Wright and Wrong but most of all, amazed with our woman here with yet again another book you should not miss. Because overall, this book is a must read.

Admittedly, the first that caught my attention with this book was the HOT COVER! Let's face it, good covers makes great impression and every Leddy's covers were impresive. Add up a promising blurb and I was glued to it the moment it hit my reader. I was eagerly reading that even if I wasn't able to read it fully the first time due to life's craziness, the moment I did, I devoured it. I just love it and it just flowed perfectly for me. The character's love story wasn't a conventional one. But boy, how I love it. It felt close to home.

Brogan made it to the list of my book boyfriends. With his tattoos, piercing , positive dispostion, add up patience like no other and a sex on a stick, I was a goner. I do not know but reading his inner self made me remember someone so close that it was him I imagined whle reading. It was their similar thoughts with Leddy's delivery and story telling that keeps me going. In fact, I hghlighted almost all his lines and even now, I can still feel it deep in my bones.

Mercy on the other hand, was a different story. Often times, I want to punch throat her, or maybe kill her slowly. I do not know but it irked me how she dealt with the situation she was in. But I want to smack some sense into me too, because I fully understood her. I understood where she's coming from. In as much as I want my heroine strong enough, I want her to be true too. And that's what she did. With her flaws, I find the woman in her. The confusion and finally her ability to finaly decide who's who. To finally let go and just follow where her heart will take her. Then again, because it took her forever I want to kill her! I can't count the times I want to throw my phone because of her! She drove me nuts!

Overall, I really love this book, I connected to it easily just as I had an instant connection with the characters. I might have a hate relationship with Mercy but boy, how I felt her inner self. Her flaws and Brogan's character were the reason this book was just perfect and it added a different taste to the story. For instance, Brogan's belief on soulmate was admiring. I live through it. He perfectly made sense and I adore him for that. I love how he is with Mercy. how he kept on pushing her to just let fate be, to not overthink things and trust what they have. Oh boy, how I was taken with their flawed journey. I flove it!

Fantastic story! One you just want to read over and over again.

Review by Jen Skewes

I have read just about all of Leddy Harper's books and I have loved each one of them for different reasons. The Reality of Wright and Wrong may just be my new fave of hers. For one, I LOVE Brogan and two I devoured this book in one day which lately has been rare for me. This book hit so many emotions. There was angst and some drama and two characters that I loved from the moment they met. And the story line was different.

Mercy was so excited to surprise her fiancé by coming to town a day early. But she was the one that the surprise of her lifetime. With a broken heart, a sway in her step, due to too many drinks, she finds herself outside of bar with no place to go. Then she hears his voice. A voice that is not familiar to her at all but affected her in so many ways. Yes Brogan Daniels c an do that to women. He offered her a ride a place to stay. And as stupid and unsafe as it sounds she took the stranger up on his offer.

Brogan Daniels, AKA Wrong knew from the moment he saw Mercy that there was something about her. She was it for him even if he could not understand why. Mercy had a week until her flight back home and that week was spent with Brogan. At the end of the week he asked her to marry him and she said yes. Her plan to go home and pack up completely blew up in her face. She had a best friend, her parents, the truth behind who her husband really is and an ex-fiance to deal with. Mercy was unsure of a lot of things when it came to her life but one thing she knew was that walking away from Brogan would not be easy not was it something she wanted to do. She would go back to him and they would make it work. But finding out who he really is, seeing his past, and knowing what could lie ahead scared her. Mercy and Brogan may have been married but can someone really fall in love in a few weeks? Were they together for the wrong reasons? Would they be able to get past their own fears, but most of all was there such a thing as fate?

I loved this book so much. I loved Brogan, a hot, sweet, sexy tattooed hero who you will fall in love with from the moment you meet him. Mercy was at times a little harder to love but that is just because of her being a little wishy washy at times. But I understood it and her reasons for hesitating. But then when you Brogan Daniels is yours, don't question it....lol.

From the moment that they met you just felt the chemistry. I can say it was love at first sight, or maybe lust. But I honestly have to say that it never felt like that. It felt to me like they have known each other for years, that they truly were soul mates and meant to be. The banter between them, the chemistry, they sexiness. Every part of them being together made sense. Time was never a fact for me. And that is what I loved. That you felt how connected they were and their love and connection just felt so real and so right. Reality of Wright and Wrong has the right amount of drama, a sexy hero, a love story that is different and was perfectly written. Loved it!!

‘The Reality Of Wright and Wrong is the first book I’ve read by Leddy Harper. I was given it in exchange for an honest review, and I could not put the book down. It was a captivatingly addictive read, and I couldn’t stop myself becoming completely and utterly immersed in Brogan and Mercy’s story.

The book begins when Mercy Wright has had her world shaken, in one evening her future happiness is dashed, and she is left outside of a bar hurting. But before she can really get a handle on her situation, Brogan Daniels, the man they nickname ‘Wrong spots her and becomes her knight in shining armour.

Brogan is everything that Mercy shouldn’t want, but they instantly connect. One moment together, conjuring feelings of a thousand years, and they are unable to deny the feelings that flow easily between them. However due to the abrupt start, Mercy worries that he is her rebound, and if by chance she may be his.

Their life together is filled with unexpected twists and turns, all which had me gripped to my seat and turning page after page. I love the story within a story of Brogan owning a tattoo shop which is being featured on a tv show, and all the side characters such as Stella and Indi.

The book is filled with beautiful poetry, and this story spoke to me about the reality of love and that some things are just ‘too big and too unexplainable for us to control.

I adored this book and I can’t wait to read more of Harper’s work. This is a must read for all romance lovers and I can promise you, you will become as addicted to Brogan and Mercy as I am.

”You’ve heard people say, ‘when you know, you know, haven’t you? That’s exactly how it is. It’s the other half of you; a mirror of you. You recognize that person, and it’s instant. It doesn’t require time to develop feelings or learn to love them. It’s innate. It’s powerful and unstoppable and more significant than anything you can feel for anyone else. The love is there from before you meet; the rest of it is simply falling in love.

Wow. This just spoke to me. It sums up so much of the story in one beautiful statement.

Mercy was tough to swallow at times. I wanted to shake her and say "girl, do you not get this man is the unicorn of men...snap out of it.", but Brogan. Dear, sweet and sexy Brogan. Holy hell, I just loved everything about him.

"Wrong" is everything that I love in a romance story. Brooding bad boy with a heart of gold, smothered in tattoos and wrapped up in angst.
If Brogan is Wrong then I never want to be Wright!

The Reality of Wright and Wrong by Leddy Harper is a thrilling read full of angst and passion.

I loved the story so much. I did find the pacing of the story rather quick, but I think that was what the story was meant to be. It was full of drama and angst, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The main characters were so loveable, although sometimes Mercy really annoyed me with what she was doing in the story. As for Wrong, oh, man, I am crushing on him so hard! Besides the tattooes, he has a heart made of pure gold, and I loved that he was getting a chance at finding love. A tough, but loveable and inked bear!

I loved wrong and mercy together. Even quite a take between the two, I loved their chemistry and fell in love with them instantly.

The Reality of Wright and Wrong was a brilliant and angst ridden read. If you love insta-love and angsty drama, then this is the perfect recommendation for you.

I’ve been dying for this book since the author kept teasing us with it! This book lives up to the teasing and then some!!

I really enjoyed this book! Brogan is HOT!!! And you can’t not love Mercy!! I started this book before work, that was a mistake...I wanted to keep readying. Was able to dive back in as soon as I got home and refused to put the book down! I finished at 3am I think.

I know that when I read a Leddy Harper book I’m going to get a really good book, characters I’m going to love! Ok well some love to hate, but I was supposed to, and make me feel emotions.

Recommend this book, but Brogan is MINE. ;)

The Reality Of Wright and Wrong is the first book written by Leddy Harper that I have read. I definitely enjoyed the writing, the storyline and the characters.
Mercy runs into Brogan when she is at her lowest point in her life and he seems to be her white knight when she really needed someone. With all of his tattoos and piercings he certainly doesn’t look like one, but looks can be deceiving. They seem to have this immediate connection but life is messy and now Mercy has some big decisions to make. What will she do? Who will she choose? Read, enjoy and find out! You will not be disappointed!

A●R●C ~ I was given The Reality of Wright and Wrong by Leddy Harper as an Advanced Readers Copy (A●R●C) from Give Me Book Promotions. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

This is the first book I’ve read written by Leddy Harper and I really liked it!
Mercy was a bit stand offish with her having to go through things on her own but Brogan was an amazing character and Stella was the comedic relief needed. Jordan was the bad to everyone else’s good.

I never did find out what happened to the ring from chapter 1 but that’s my little question left unanswered.

Good read and looking forward to more books by Letty Harper.

Leddy Harper has delivered a beautiful and angsty read about two heartbroken people. Their story is one of fate and soulmates but along the way their are many bumps in the road they have to overcome. I loved the story of Mercy and Brogan and how they met and how strong their connection was only after just meeting. And how they continued and strengthened their relationship despite everything trying to keep them apart.

I loved how sure Wrong was about Mercy being the one. While I’m usually a fan of instalove, this one fell a little short for me in the aspect of how fast they came together. I also had a hard time connecting to Mercy’s character and the way she continuously second guessed her rash decisions.

Gah! I have wobbled back and forth over the stars for this one because I thought Brogan was such a wonderful hero and the set up had a lot of potential and there were real moments that made my heart squeeze, but that was mainly Brogan being the ideal ‘only ever in your heads man.

I found Mercy to be kind of two dimensional, her only purpose seemed to be to create unnecessary angst to drag the story out! Her need to obsess and run was a little much for me, especially when Brogan was clearly loving and supportive from the get go. Props to the best friend character for being the only voice of reason it seemed!

Married to a stranger...a soulmate...being wrong never felt so right.
What we have here is a guy who believes in fate and soulmates.
Characters:
Mercy Wright
Brogan Daniels

Overall:
These characters moved way too quickly. I needed more time to catch up. This certainly was an unconventional way to begin a short term relationship considering the circumstances that landed them together. I couldn’t find the connection I needed to stick with them.
I have to be fair to myself and Leddy by admitting that this story didn’t work for me. I didn’t like this one. She’s still a talented writer. This book didn’t suit my needs. It fell short in the emotional department. I kind of knew from the title and cover that I was going to struggle with this book. There’s an interesting premise behind the meet and greet, but beyond that I got hung up on the doubts and fears. Most of that came with the insta-connection. I’m skeptical of impulsive decisions. That there lies the problem with this story. Mercy went from careful to careless in a nano second of time.
The more Mercy vocalized her fears and doubts unfortunately the more I questioned her character.

The secondary character Stella, which I might add is the same name used for the writing duo Steph and Leddy, shared a banter that reminded me of those two ladies. While I love Leddy’s humor, sarcasm, and wit I wasn’t loving the dynamics between Stella and Mercy.

I struggled with Brogan talking about Mercy as if they knew each other longer than a few days. He had this fated destiny fantasy in his mind that I couldn’t get behind.

This was a sexually driven story where sex and physical appearance were the first two things that drove them together.

Once I got over my initial shock of this unconventional relationship moving too fast I realized no matter how much time you spend with someone you don’t truly know them. Every circumstance in life is dealt with accordingly and how that person reacts is an unknown reaction. “Do you even know anything about this boy? I know enough. The rest will come with time—just like with any other relationship. This is absolutely true. I can’t dispute this statement.

Normally by now I’d be glued to Leddy’s words. Unfortunately, this book and these characters aren’t grabbing my attention.
You win some you lose some. This was a lose some moment. I can’t expect to like every book written. She hasn’t lost me as a fan. I remain hopeful and optimistic that her next book will be a 5stars.

Leddy Harper is a one-click author for me. I don't usually pass up anything she writes because she's such an amazing writer.

I honestly didn't know what to expect when I started reading The Reality of Wright and Wrong because I went in completely blind into this book. I did not read the synopsis because I didn't care, I knew I was going to read it regardless.

This was one of those books that I started on a whim and just couldn't put down.

I loved the characters, the story line was exceptionally well written and the plot was one of those that will have you addicted from beginning to end.

The chemistry between Brogan and Mercy was just one of those that happens instantly. You thought you loved once before and I mean fiercely loved but when you lay eyes on the one person that you definitely know that she or he is the one, then you know they're the ones.

Brogan always thought that his first love was the one that got away but when and after marrying Mercy. He knew, without a doubt, that Mercy was his other half. Even though both Brogan and Mercy might have had something in common when it came to their hearts being broken, they found in each other the comfort and ease as if they knew each other all their lives.

I loved the way they instantaneously connected, even though it felt a little rushed, but I get that after what Mercy witnessed all she wanted was to forget so quickly and who better than Brogan to help her with that!!

Brogan and Mercy's ex were so different. Brogan showed how much he cared for her and how much he paid attention and showed interest in her, there were things he knew about her that her long time boyfriend didn't and that just goes to show you how much he loves her.

They had their ups and downs and with Mercy feeling confused at times caused tension in their short marriage. But the way they worked it out and finally communicating and sharing and talking everything out worked out for the best for them.

Mercy and Brogan were definitely one of those couples that would last after only knowing each other for such a short period of time and having a rushed marriage. But hey, anything can happen right!!
