What a beautifully-written, well-thought out story. This is truly a quality book/story. It was an engaging read, I learned a lot about the culture of Spain, and I fell in love with Barcelona. Most of the time when I read a book about books I like them or love them. I mean, what avid reader doesn't love reading a story about a meaningful book or books?

The story is set in Barcelona, Spain, 1945, written by Carlos Ruiz Zafon and translated into English.

Shelves: favorites, 5-stars-recommendations

Originally read in 2013 and rated it 5 Stars. I don鈥檛 think I realized then that the story continues. So I just reread in order to refresh my memory before continuing. Still 5 Stars. I was surprised to learn that I still loved it even though I kind of knew its mysteries.
