Book Rating: 4.0 stars While dark and sad, the book was interesting. It's a case I haven't heard much about, one podcast I listened to covered it.
The book did make me really like the victims and feel quite sad when they died. The author did a good job of making not only the murderer a fully fleshed-out person, but also the victims, which isn't always done in true crime.
Overall, it's a fairly well-written book, though it did drag in parts.
Narrator Rating: 4.0 stars The narrator did a great job! However, she's not quite good enough to reach above four stars.

Book Rating: 1.5 stars If you're in the mood for some hardcore family bragging and entitled whining, this book is for you. I do feel sorry for Fred Trump in some respects but also from this telling he's the most well-adjusted Trump of the bunch.
Honestly, in my opinion, inheritance should be capped at a certain dollar value, like 10 million, and the rest should go into social security. Then older and disabled people could afford needed medications and rich people wouldn't be so adversarial about these things, plus honestly, no one needs more money than they could use to support themselves reasonably. No one needs estates and multiple houses! Generational wealth is how the US got this way and it's a huge problem.
I can see him and his sister being mad about being partly written out of the will, but his immediate family wasn't hurting for money in a way that would have put them on the streets. Yes, the quality of care he was used to for his family was threatened, but honestly, 99% of people never have access to that leave of care or help in the home. I mostly heard a lot of entitled whining.
He also seemed more than happy to revel in the perks of knowing the president, and not just to help the cause of developmentally challenged adults. I'm glad he wants to help people like his son, but most people who have problems like his son don't get that quality of care or even any chance of accessing it, and that's a problem. The family history was somewhat interesting.
Narrator Rating: 3.0 stars He did an acceptable job of telling his own story as far as narration.

Book Rating: 2.0 stars The book was okay. I felt like the author glossed over how during the trial all the talk of sex outside of marriage and other sexual things biased the jury in Denise's case, due to sexism and outrage among the religious who they talked so much about.
I also feel like the author harped too much on the religiousness of everyone involved. It was talked about again and again to an excessive point.
I was glad she talked about the "Eve factor" and how in these types of situations when infidelity and murder are involved the woman is punished and judged more harshly. As if, men as a whole have no self-control and are only led by their peckers.
Narrator Rating: 5 starsÌý I only stuck with the book to the end because of the excellent narration.
