Uno de esos libros en los que realmente no pasa nada. Se lee casi más como una crónica de una época en la que todos los acontecimientos narrados parecen tener el mismo ritmo y la misma importancia, sea una orgía marciana, una crítica a la derecha en internet o una representación de una antigua guerra galáctica. Siendo objetivos es bastante coñazo, pero la verdad es que funciona y se mantiene constante en su sorna.

Temáticamente además es la misma novela que El Gusano, del mismo autor, pero con distinto (o no tan distinto) marco. Y diría que también de Parásitos Perfectos. Me parece interesante como ejemplo de weird y de cifi latinoamericana (o estrictamente colombiana) aunque El Gusano sea mejor.

Me ha gustado mucho, aunque creo que en algún punto le vendría bien detenerse un poco a explicarle al lector las cosas que ya sabe el personaje. Porque es bastante bastante lioso. Aun así muy chulo con una prosa un poco recargada y un par de giros muy conseguidos.

A los relatos de Howard: uno piensa en de donde partió y a donde ha ido a parar gran parte del genero fantástico mainstream y le entran ganas de meter la cabeza en el horno.

Los viejos huesos del emperador. Tim está a punto de conseguir lo que lleva deseando desde la niñez, solo debe encontrar los ingredientes para el plato llamado: los viejos huesos del emperador y así engañar a la muerte.

Little ease. Las malas prácticas inmobiliarias en un barrio que se quiere gentrificar sirve de escenario para este relato sobre el lenguaje de los ángeles y las atrocidades que se cometen en pos de investigaciones inauditas. Ginevra Chrane es una exterminadora a la que se le encarga no acabar con una plaga de un edificio en concreto. Toni Cifuentes (Barcelona, 1978) estudió Filosofía y Letras en la Universitat de Barcelona. Entre sus publicaciones más recientes se encuentran El jardín de Marta (Cazador de Ratas, 2019) y la colección de narraciones fantásticas Autotomía (El Hidroavión, 2013). Sus relatos han aparecido en diferentes revistas literarias, ha realizado cursos relacionados con el guion, ha ganado algunos premios y ha escrito obras de teatro, algunas representadas en Málaga. Admirador de Vonnegut, Dahl y Poe, entre otros muchos, es un apasionado de los manuales de escritura. En su carrera profesional ha trabajado como vendedor de revistas, proyeccionista, librero, administrativo o cajero, y actualmente es guía de yacimientos arqueológicos y corrector de textos. No es tanto un libro como una serie de textos cortos que sirven de trasfondo a una serie de ilustraciones que ni siquiera me parecen especialmente imaginativas. Es un PDF que un random ha subido a internet y de alguna manera ha generado un pequeño culto de fans, que además enfocan esta obra desde el body horror cuando claramente es un intento de ciencia ficción. El autor intenta ir un paso más allá que Olaf Stapledon y no lo consigue, dejando un rastro de imaginación a medio gas mezclada con moralina que no supe muy bien a donde quería llevarme. Como curiosidad, tiene un pase, como obra literaria, desde luego que no lo tiene.

Me ha gustado mucho como Coming of age, con muchísimos detalles aparentemente irrelevantes que al final encajan para enmarcar muy bien la adolescencia de los personajes. El angst es muy típico de la época también, me da un poco de pena que matasen a Alain-Fournier tan pronto porque esta es una muy buena obra.

En la temática, aunque predomina el terror, no hay un hilo conductor, y puedes encontrar el relato de una familia que habita una casa sumergida junto a otro acerca de una figura mitológica y misteriosa. Y, en cuanto al estilo, en estas doce historias —escritas entre 1991 y 2018� podemos comprobar cómo es capaz de alternar entre un tono rudo y coloquial y la escritura más poética y literaria.

Un libro interesante prácticamente de adolescencia, con toda la grima y el intenseo que se puede esperar pero a la vez muy bien llevado y muy sucio, ya iban asomando los intereses de Mariana aquí. Como primera novela me parece una pasada, y el prólogo a mi edición es muy interesante.

Me ha costado este libro, porque en su mayor parte no he entendido qué quería decirme. Las reflexiones sobre la vida y la muerte me han parecido superficiales, y el viaje de madurez de Arren no es tampoco nada nuevo. Gavilán, por su parte, me ha parecido a la vez una crítica y una loa a una filosofía de la inacción que me parece también superficial.
