This is a great read if you want something fast paced to cheer you up. It’s fairly low angst, amusing as hell, and the romance is well developed.

Every book of Tiana’s I’ve read so far has nailed pacing. This was my book club’s read this month, and many of us were losing our minds waiting for book club to happen so that we could read the rest.

I’d say this is perfect for NA readers. It’s a more adult book but the characters are in college and the storyline is pretty easy to follow whilst remaining interesting for adults.

I did have some slight issues with the plot that made some things unbelievable / did feel a tad ridiculous.

There is a tiny dash of spice too.

It was slow and draining but in a way I oddly appreciated. You find yourself as uncaring if the apocalypse will hit or not as they are. I think it is an interesting commentary on family ties, privilege and consumerism. Even in the apocalypse, peoples worries are so self centred.

Saying that�� god it could have been far shorter. The first 4/5ths really focus on little of interest. I would have liked more exploration on the apocalypse side or some more drama.

As always Armfield’s writing was beautiful; there are some lines in this that I reread five times.

This was an absolute joy to read! So much LGBT+ representation and a wonderful, magic-filled world.

First of all the art for this is brilliant. It’s colourful and whimsical, with warm colour pallets that draw you in. I also loved the character art style.

The story itself is a little cheesy (in a good way), fluffy and endearing. It’s a slow-burn, filled with adventure and mishaps.

A really solid read.

This was a really witty spin on serial killer animals in a previously calm small town. Think Dexter meets Wind in The Willows.

It’s one of the more intriguing horrors I’ve read in a while. This is pretty gruesome which is a stark contradiction to the cozy animal town the author sets it in. If you want something utterly peculiar this is likely for you.

The art style is also really beautiful and at times does feel like the older animals children’s picture novels which does lend to the absurdity of the story more.

A really solid read.

This is a smutty demon/human dark romance that was fairly gripping. I did enjoy both the story and the smut in this and it was well written in that sense, and for that reason would definitely rec it if you’re not bothered by errors. The characters are all well fleshed out and keep you gripped and the pacing was solid. It is heavy at times so check the TWs.

Saying that there were many grammar/punctuation issues, sentences that simply made no sense, and other things. It did read like it was written in a rush and could have benefitted hugely from editing or proofreading. This didn’t personally bother me too much but just as a heads up if you’re buying it.

This is not for the feint of heart, it is a more dystopian/horror leaning dark romance with a fair bit of gore around the wild spice scenes. I found it a really interesting premise however and really enjoyed the fusion of dark romance and dystopian genres here.
