Wow I am disappointed in this book.. I didn’t hate it but there were a lot of aspects I didn’t enjoy. One of them being that there was basically no plot. The plot about the trove and Briallyn was barely mentioned throughout the book and solved so easily in the end. The main plot it seemed was Nesta and Cassian sleeping together and thinking about sleeping together. Their relationship just feels lustful to me and I hate that. Also, Nesta didn’t become likable to me until the last 100 pages of the book. I just wish this book would’ve been about a different character like Azriel! I love his character and there is so much to still learn about him. Or even Lucien! With all that being said there were some aspects I did enjoy. Like Nesta going through the rite. The plot really started to pick up then. I also enjoyed the friendships Nesta made and the tiny crumbs we got of Azriel. I hope we’ll get a book soon about him or Lucien!

I first want to say thank you to the publisher and author for sending me the ARC of this book. I am very grateful. I really liked the plot line of this book, but I feel like the book needed to be longer to really establish the plot. I also think more world building would’ve helped me understand the world and kingdoms better. I would’ve liked to see the relationships develop more slowly. I couldn’t feel the connection between any of the characters because I didn’t see it develop over time. I did enjoy the representation of anxiety in this book since it is so rare to see it in fantasy books.

This is one of those books that you do not want to put down. I’ve never read a book with a plot about Vikings and was very excited to branch out and read this book. First, I want to thank the author for sending me this book. If you like a fast paced romance book this book is for you. Unfortunately I like a more built up romance story. I felt like we didn’t get a build up to the relationship it just kinda happened and it was all under a year. I do feel like the mom and daughter aspect of this book was written well to where that wasn’t the main storyline. I did like reading something a little new because I have never read a love story that included a celebrity so I did enjoy trying something different.
