Major Samuel Griffith was one of the most beloved and humble Marine Corps Officers to serve his country. Fiercely dedicated to becoming an F-18 aviator, he embodied perseverance and grit. He led his men with wisdom beyond his years and loved making everyone laugh. Sam was truly living the dream.

One tragic day, Sam was killed in action, leaving behind a now "Gold Starred" wife, children, parents and sister–Renee. Renee quickly realized as a new Gold Star sister, that siblings are often the "forgotten mourners," and had to fight through depression, anger, and even estrangement with virtually no support or community.

As a result, Renee felt compelled to share her honest, raw and at times gut-wrenching account of what it was like losing a sibling to war in hopes of helping others like her connect and work through their own grief.

Always My Hero will have you laughing one moment and moved to tears the next. Get to know Sam and the amazing Marine he was through the eyes of his sister and fellow servicemen and discover how to exchange sorrow for strength so you can crawl out of the trenches of despair and finally find...hope.

Renee Nickell, author and Gold Star sibling, penned her first non-fiction memoir Always My Hero after her beloved brother, a Marine Corps Officer, was killed in action. She is a devoted military wife, mother of four, and supporter of military service members and families, especially Gold Star families. Renee's mission is to inspire others who have experienced loss of a family member to overcome the pain and trials and find hope and healing.]]>

<![CDATA[Built Through Courage: Face Your Fears to Live the Life You Were Meant For]]> 57468186 New York Times bestselling author Dave Hollis knows what it feels like to realize you’ve been chasing someone else’s goals and sacrificing your own. He has taken control of his life and future, and he’s ready to share the lessons he learned along the way with readers who are facing similar struggles.

After his hardest year also became his best ever, Dave came to appreciate the power of cultivating courage in the face of adversity. Taking steps into the unknown came at the expense of his comfort, but the willingness to invite discomfort and use it as fuel was precisely why he grew through it to get a step closer to the person he was meant to be. The same can be true for you. After weathering a highly publicized personal crisis amid the backdrop of a global pandemic and navigating the enjoyable but unpredictable waters of being a single father to four kids, he has been forced to become the captain of his own life and is ready to teach others how to do the same.

Built for Courage will help you:

- Develop a deep understanding where you are, a clear vision of where you’re going and the practical steps it will take to get you there;
- Cultivate the courage to face your fears and embrace discomfort to live the life of impact and fulfillment you were meant for;
- Unpack the deliberate design and specific purpose that you were created for along with the fundamental daily habits and routines that you’ll need to attach yourself to if you’re going to honor the intention of your creator;
- Dive deeper into the stories, values, and beliefs you attach yourself to and decide once and for all if they have credibility or if it’s time to cut bait;
- Identify and, if necessary, adjust your goals to ensure they are clear, don’t belong to other people, and are not contingent on immediate results;
- Accept failure as the richest source of intelligence and help you reframe it as a requirement for your own progress and growth; and
Much, much more.

Built for Courage gleans wisdom from sources vast and wide, as well as from the life experiences of Dave himself, to get you to the place you’re meant to go and become who you are meant to be, regardless of any anchor holding you back.]]>

This means that the most powerful information about change will always surrender to pre-existing thought processes. When we learn how to influence thought processes we learn how to influence meaningful change.

Not all pathways of learning lead to the same destination. The kind of learning that allows engineers to build bridges will never inform our ability to love one another well. The kind of learning that comprehends quantum physics will seldom open the door to personal transformation.

Enter the world of Think Differently Learn Differently: Communication with Change in Mind and hone in on the kind of learning that leads to deep and meaningful life change. If you want to change your life or the lives of others these ideas are ground zero.

Inside you will find a combination of brain science, counseling theories and scripture blended to maximize the power of your thinking and the power of your communication to change your life and the lives of those to whom you communicate.]]>

<![CDATA[Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tough Conversations. Whole Hearts.]]> 40163165 New York Times bestsellers, Brené Brown has taught us what it means to dare greatly, rise strong, and brave the wilderness. Now, based on new research conducted with leaders, change makers, and culture shifters, she's showing us how to put those ideas into practice so we can step up and lead.

Leadership is not about titles, status, and wielding power. A leader is anyone who takes responsibility for recognizing the potential in people and ideas, and has the courage to develop that potential.

When we dare to lead, we don't pretend to have the right answers; we stay curious and ask the right questions. We don't see power as finite and hoard it; we know that power becomes infinite when we share it with others. We don't avoid difficult conversations and situations; we lean into vulnerability when it's necessary to do good work.

But daring leadership in a culture defined by scarcity, fear, and uncertainty requires skill-building around traits that are deeply and uniquely human. The irony is that we're choosing not to invest in developing the hearts and minds of leaders at the exact same time as we're scrambling to figure out what we have to offer that machines and AI can't do better and faster. What can we do better? Empathy, connection, and courage, to start.

Four-time #1 New York Times bestselling author Brené Brown has spent the past two decades studying the emotions and experiences that give meaning to our lives, and the past seven years working with transformative leaders and teams spanning the globe. She found that leaders in organizations ranging from small entrepreneurial startups and family-owned businesses to nonprofits, civic organizations, and Fortune 50 companies all ask the same question:

How do you cultivate braver, more daring leaders, and how do you embed the value of courage in your culture?

In this new book, Brown uses research, stories, and examples to answer these questions in the no-BS style that millions of readers have come to expect and love.

Brown writes, "One of the most important findings of my career is that daring leadership is a collection of skills and practices that are 100 percent teachable. It's learning and unlearning that requires brave work, tough conversations, and showing up with your whole heart. Easy? No. Because choosing courage over comfort is not always our default. Worth it? Always. We want to be brave with our lives and our work. It's why we're here."

Whether you've read Daring Greatly and Rising Strong or you're new to Brené Brown's work, this book is for anyone who wants to step up and into brave leadership.]]>

<![CDATA[Everybody, Always: Becoming Love in a World Full of Setbacks and Difficult People]]> 36289256 New York Times Bestseller!

What happens when we give away love like we're made of it?

In his entertaining and inspiring follow-up to the New York Times bestselling phenomenon Love Does, Bob Goff takes readers on a journey into the secret of living without fear, constraint, or worry. The path toward the liberated existence we all long for is found in a truth as simple to say as it is hard to do: love people, even the difficult ones, without distinction and without limits.

Driven by Bob’s trademark storytelling, Everybody, Always reveals the lessons Bob learned--often the hard way--about what it means to love without inhibition, insecurity, or restriction. From finding the right friends to discovering the upside of failure, Everybody, Always points the way to embodying love by doing the unexpected, the intimidating, the seemingly impossible. Whether losing his shoes while skydiving solo or befriending a Ugandan witch doctor, Bob steps into life with a no-limits embrace of others that is as infectious as it is extraordinarily ordinary. Scripture talks about transformation. Paul says we should be transformed by renewing our minds. How do we do that? What does it even mean?

In his new book, Unveiled: The Transforming Power of God’s Presence and Voice, Alan Smith seeks to unveil an all too often hidden aspect of the Christian faith. Grace: The Power to Change 356538 It is as if we are caught in a maze of formulas and rules. We know there’s something missing, but we’re not sure what. In our search for truth, we lose our way among the dos and don’ts of religion. Christians everywhere have been missing the truth about grace--and the result is defeat and frustration.
In this life-changing book, Dr. James Richards unfolds the mystery of grace. You will find the power to overcome instead of repeatedly seeking forgiveness. You will conquer personal issues instead of enduring them. You will discover God’s power of effortless change instead of your best effort to change. This reality will transform everything you are experiencing with God.
The Power to Change will bring you into the dimension of Christian living that Jesus called “easy and light. This is a must-read for every believer!

Early on, she practiced the most effective treatments and prescribed them for her clients. But when she experienced depression herself, she found that the treatments she had recommended were lacking. Her experience showed her the missing component in treating depression.
In "Hope Prevails," Dr. Bengtson writes with deep compassion, blending her training and faith, to offer readers a hope grounded in God's love and grace. She helps readers understand what depression is, how it affects them spiritually, and what, by God's grace, it cannot do.
