opening this book i knew it would be similar to the hunger games and the lord of the flies. however, i was not disappointed at any point in this book. this read had me giggling, gasping, and groaning (in agony of course) at every turn. the love triangle between our main character, her childhood best friend, and a poacher was extremely unexpected and such a great surprise. when Tierney’s (our main characters) mother was actually on her side all along it was such a shocker, a PLEASANT surprise. the fact that even though she thought her parents were both monsters, when it turns out they were on her side all along was such a bittersweet feeling for myself and Tierney. not to mention, the author was dropping subtle hints about her being pregnant without actually spoiling it, so when we find this out along with the county, it was SHOCKING to say the least. i HAD to flip back through the pages and only then did i notice the subtle hints. when Tierney ran away from Ryders body, it was so out of character for her, she’s always been a fighter. but knowing now that she was pregnant, it makes so much sense. i think the depth of this book was phenomenal and had such a deep meaning. the symbolism for the flowers? amazing. overall i really loved this book and my only complaint was that I wish it was longer.

would have DNF if i was a quitter, fortunately im not. however with that being said i have some STRONG feelings about this book. Sin is honestly a monster. that poor girl needed to be left the hell alone. i can’t even count the amount of times she was r-word in this book. and i get the feeling she was only into it BECAUSE of her trauma. it makes my stomach TURNN. it wasn’t even CNC at that point, just NC. My poor girl Ellie needed a fucking therapist, not to be locked in a basement and screwed for days at a time. i’m a dark romance lover but this? this was just terrible. this is the first book out of the series that has made me feel this way however so i will continue to read the series, i just hope that whatever BULLSHIT this is doesn’t happen again. WOWW THE TEAAA, plot twists at every turn. the whole “chosen one�� thing was actually SO creative. the book was so descriptive. plot was PLOTTTING. this is SO much more than a spicy read. i’d count this as a slow burn in a certain light. the beginning of the book was so intriguing right away, i was hooked 10 pages in. i sincerely had a hard time putting this book down. Ryat is crazy, possessive, and scary as HELL but only for his girl Blake. he kills for her multiple times in this book and always made good on his promises. their relationship is filled with many of fights, scares, and harsh realities. including facing how they actually feel about each other. I love Blakelys character and i can relate to her so much. I GET IT GIRL. she has some SERIOUS mommy and daddy issues but she puts her trust into Ryat anyway and i am SO glad she did. Matt is a piece of shit honestly and he kept me on my toes during the whole read. an amazingly written villain. every time i even thought of getting comfortable in this book, new information was thrown my way and left me kicking my feet and giggling or it left me GAGGED. no in between. The writing was amazing and it really showcased the growth in our two main characters. I would absolutely read this again and recommend it.
