ولد بوليتزر في نافيغارود (هنغاريا) عام 1903، وغادرها عام 1921 على أثر استيلاء الرجعية على السلطة التي كانت تلاحق والده. درس في السوربون وأسس مع هنري لوفيفر وآخرين مجلات فنشر فيها دراسات في علم النفس والتحليل النفسي ونقداً للبرغسونية.ـ
فبوليتزر هو ذلك الفيلسوف المتسق مع نفسه، عاش وقضى في سبيل مثله الأعلى، على حد تعبيره، رابطاً هكذا بين النظرية والممارسة في وحدة لا تنفصم.ـ

Mill's famous essay "The Subjection of Women" is a brilliant argument for equal treatment of women with respect to property, marriage, education, and vocation that should appeal to a wide range of readers, including libertarians, conservatives, liberals and feminists.

Libertarian and conservative readers interested in the history of philosophic thought about liberty will find many important threads in his argument. The first thread, and the one that the reader would expect to find given Mill's association with utilitarianism, has to do with the cultural, social and economic costs of depriving women of education and opportunity to compete in the marketplace. ...

Mill then jumps from the social to the psychological arena, arguing with remarkable insight that the subjection of woman does not lead to elevation for men; on the contrary, it almost inevitably distorts their character to live as the authorized master of others. ...

Mill's ability here to reflect on the role of experience in forming judgments and developing personal character is remarkable from an epistemological perspective. Mill, of course, is one of the great thinkers on the problem of induction, that is, on how to reach appropriate generalizations from individual concrete experiences, and (in part) how to avoid incorrect generalizations where one's experiences are incomplete. It is one of the great triumphs of this essay that Mill is able to show how his contemporaries' limited experience of what women may be capable can blind them to any alternative. In the process he is able to set himself just far enough outside that context to appreciate just how limiting it must be, building to a crashing conclusion: "...we may safely assert that the knowledge which men can acquire of women, even as they have been and are, without reference to what they might be, is wretchedly imperfect and superficial, and always will be so, until women themselves have told all that they have to tell."

No presentation of Mill's essay can stand without a review of the remarkable precursor essay written by Harriet Taylor in 1851, "Enfranchisement of Women." The relationship between Mill and Taylor was extraordinary. They first met in 1830. Both were under 25, but Taylor was married and raising three children. Over the course of several years they developed an intense intellectual working partnership and emotional relationship that continued until the death of her husband in 1848. They married in 1851 and continued working together until Taylor's death in 1858. لم أتصور أنني أقرأ رواية كتبها فنان عربي شاب ، ولم أتصور أن هذه الرواية الناضجة الفذة � فكراً وفناً � هي عمله الأول . لقد أخذتني الرواية بين سطورها في دوامة من السحر الفني والفكري ، وصعدت بي إلى مرتفعات عالية من الخيـال الفني الروائي العظيم ، وأطربتني طرباً حقيقياً بما فيها من غزارة شعرية رائعة .

ولم أكد أنتهي من قـراءة الرواية ، حتى تيقنت أنني � بلا أدنى مبالغة � أمام عبقرية جديدة في ميدان الرواية العربية .. تولد كما يولد الفجر الجديد المشرق ، وكما تولد الشمس الإفريقية الصريحة الناصعة. فمن هو هذا الفنان الشاب ، وما هي روايته ؟

إنه كاتب سوداني لم أسمع عنه ولم اقرأ له شيئاً قبل هذه الرواية ، واسمه الطيب الصالح . أما روايته فاسمها � موسم الهجرة إلى الشمال � � وكل ما عرفته عن هذا الفنان الشاب أنه من مواليد 1929 ، وأنه تخرج في إحدى الجامعات الانكليزية ، ولذلك فليس أمامنا إلا أن نواجه الرواية نفسها بدون أي مقدمة عن المؤلف ، فأثمن ما لدينا عن المؤلف هو الرواية .

مسرح الأحداث غرفة البطل الوحيدة وتمشياته الطويلة في شوارع باريس وريفها، والحدث الوحيد هو عزلته المفاجئة دون أحداث كبرى او قرارات مصيرية.

أحيانا تحلم بأن النوم موت بطئ يغزوك، تخدير ناعم ورهيب في الوقت نفسه، تآكل لذيذ، يتصاعد البرد على امتداد ذراعيك، يتصاعد على مهل، يغيبك، يلغيك، إبهام قدمك جبل ناء، ساقك نهر، خدك مخدتك، تسكن بكاملك في إبهامك، تنصهر، تسيل مثل الرمل، مثل الزئبق، لست بعد سوى حبة رمل، خلايا مضغوطة، شئ لا قوام له، دون عضلات، دون عظام، دون ساقين، دون ذراعين، دون عنق، مختلط القدمين واليدين، بشفتين هائلتين تلتهمانك.



لفخ: هذا الوهم الخطير في أنك _كيف تقولها_ غير قابل للاجتياز، في ألا تيسر للعالم الخارجي أي وصول إليك، في انزلاقك، غير قابل للمس، مفتوح العينين الناظرتين أمامهما، مدركا كل شئ، أدق التفاصيل، دون أن تحتفظ بشئ، مسرنم متيقظ، أعمى قد يمكنه الإبصار، كائن دون ذاكرة، دون رعب.



لقد كفاك تماما، يوم من أيار شديد الحر، الترابط غير الموفق لنص كنت قد أضعت خيط المعنى فيه، كوب نسكافيه بمذاق أصبح فجأة مرا أكثر مما يجب، حوض من البلاستك الزهري اللون ملئ بماء يميل للسواد تطفو فيه ستة جوارب، كي ينكسر شئ ما، يفسد، يشوه،تظهر في النهار الساطع _غير أن النهار لا يكون ساطعا أبدا في الحجرة الصغيرة في شارع سانت اونوريه_ حفيقة مخيبة، وحزينة، ومضحكة مثل طاقية حمار، ثقيلة مثل معجم (جافيو": لا ترغب أن تستمر، ولا أن تدافع عن نفسك، ولا أن تهاجم.

تصارح "منى" القارىء بأنها لا تجد ما تفعله حيال ذلك ، فماذا تفعل حتى تكسر الملل؟! هى تريد روايتها عن "العشق"، عن ذلك الرجل الذى إقتحمها وعاش فى أوردتها، تريد أن تحكى تجربة خاصة جداً قد لا تهم أحداً من القراء، ماذا تفعل؟! هل تضيف عناصر البهارات والفلفل مثل الغيرة والمعارك الصغيرة بين "الحبيبن" كى تصبح الرواية أكثر تشويقاَ ؟!

تجردت منى برنس فى الرواية من الكثير من قناعات المرأة العصرية أو المثقفة، وقررت أن تعيش قصة حب خالصة تخلو من الأهداف أو الأغراض، فرأينا فتاة من لحم ودم وليست نموذج مصنوع تحرص على تقديمه معظم الكاتبات فى عالمنا العربى، فتاة على فطرة الحب الأولى لدرجة أنها تنقل لحبيبها نصائح صديقاتها ووصفاتهن لإشعال نيران الغيرة فى قلبه!.

anti-héros. Un homme qui abhorra les coutumes de son époque (début 2ème siècle),
dès sa jeunesse, alors qu'il vivait au sein d'une tribu renommée dans les hauts
plateaux de l'Est algérien. Mais il ne put rester longtemps un original isolé et retomba
lentement dans la tradition tribale et s'y conforma par la suite bon gré mal gré. Sa
vie débuta par une aventure et continua par l'action et en action jusqu'à sa mort. Il
fut outrageusement riche par rapport à sa société et en profita pour consommer et
abuser des femmes, et fut un fervent polygame contrairement à ses principes de
jeunesse et à son opposition à son propre père. Son intelligence et sa faculté de
manipulateur, ainsi que le travail et l'abnégation de ses fils lui assurèrent une grande
notoriété tout au long de sa vie. Sa richesse qui lui donna beaucoup de plaisir, fut
aussi la source de beaucoup de soucis et surtout la cause de sa mort. Il subit
l'influence des colons français voisins, de leur mentalité, un certain temps, puis finit
par s'en éloigner et participa tacitement à l'action des moudjahidines à qui il prêta
un local dans sa ferme. Par contre son fils, en rupture contre son père lui aussi,
réalisera davantage les idées modernistes de son père, sera l'artisan de la
désintégration de la tribu et de l'esprit tribal de la famille, et participera bien plus
activement à aider les moudjahidines implantés dans la région pour des raisons assez
diverses.]]> 426 Redha Boubeguira 9931504072 Rah 4 J'ai toujours eu un faible pour les biographies et les mémoires, les livres qui dénudent la réalité en reflétant la vie des êtres humains, en relatant des vies réelles, d'une manière si vivace! Et ce livre là, si on peut le considérer comme une biographie d'une famille, est certainement l'un des livres les plus chers à mon cœur.
Le livre m'a permis de suivre le cours d'une vie qui s'est déroulée un siècle auparavant à la ville même où j'habite, citant des endroits que je connais, qui me sont proches; ce qui m'a permis de revivre et de remémorer des histoires de ma propre famille. Le roman ressemble aux histoires que ma mère et mes grands-parents m'ont racontées de leurs parents, surtout en ce qui concerna la condition minable des femmes à cette époque là.
Les dimensions psychologiques et sociales données au livre sont fascinantes! L'auteur a bien réussi à incorporer les valeurs d'une vie algérienne au douar des années 1900: l'honneur, la bravoure, l'honnêteté et la force étant les éléments crucials qui forment la dignité d'un homme. Les femmes étaient réduites à néant, et j'ai bien aimé la façon dont l'auteur a concentré sur ce point, et a illustré plusieurs fois les misères qui accablaient la femme algérienne à ce temps là: Viols, violence et abus des femmes, mariage forcé, polygamie, le rôle des femmes étant réduit à cuisiner et à accoucher, et la façon dont une femme subissait sa famille et la famille de son mari, ainsi que le sort qu'elle subissait au cas où elle exprimait son avis ..tout ceci a été évoqué et illustré d'une façon si vivace que ça donne mal au cœur!
Un autre point ayant à voir avec les femmes était la polygamie et le désir incessant de Ajal envers les femmes. Le désir qui l'a aveuglé, et qui a prospéré sa famille : ainsi reflétait l'inégalité régnant la société, et démentant l'image de pudeur si pure et parfaite que nos grands-parents veulent qu'on ait d'eux.
L'autre point ayant été démontré à plusieurs reprises était : comment la fortune de Ajal a été un avantage lui facilitant la vie, tout en étant le fardeau qui lui a coûté la vie. C'était une leçon de vie acquise à travers les événements.
Sans oublier: la Révolution. Le livre, sans vraiment toucher à la "sacrée" révolution, a démontré depuis l'histoire de Ajal avec Francine, l'incompétence et l'ignorance dans lesquelles nageait le peuple algérien .. ceci a continué jusqu'à la fin, avec l'histoire de Khoja qui a illustré la qualité de "certains" moudjahidin: quelques ingrats ayant profité de la révolution pour se faire des titres, eux qui, auparavant, n'étaient que des riens dévorés et rejetés par la société. J'ai bien aimé le passage où Khoja a expliqué les motifs derrière sa violence, c'était intensément psychologique. J'ai déjà lu des anecdotes à propos des viols des femmes algériennes par des moudjahidin, et j'ai bien aimé l'histoire de Nafissa et le fait que la justice fut enfin appliquée!
426 pages de plaisir, j'aurai tellement aimé que ça s'étend encore plus, parce que j'ai commencé à nouer un attachement aux caractères que je reconnais comme des membres de ma famille maintenant, et j'ai vraiment hâte de visiter les lieux et la ferme de Ajal, question de sentir l'histoire encore mieux.
Une question me tracasse, l'étoile de Ajal, ne serait ce pas Vénus?
Et oui! un autre point que j'ai vraiment admiré dans le livre c'est l'égoïsme de Ajal! Bah, certainement pas l'égoïsme qui l'a poussé à se remarier plusieurs fois en laissant ces fils célibataires, mais plutôt l'égoïsme qu'il avait à profiter de sa fortune durant sa vie! Le passage où il a discuté de ceci avec son ami Rabeh a bien été captif! ainsi que le passage où il a parlé de son paradoxe en étant un humain qui nageait dans les debaucheries tout en espérant s'en laver avec l'argent qu'il fournissait à l'Association des Oulémas..
Une critique? Je dirai seulement que ça manquait parfois de style littéraire intense, seulement.

Concerning its style, the book is well-written, summing up everything in a clear simple way. Yet, when it comes to ideas, and to polygamy itself, I find it provocative, and it disgusts the shit out of me. I am even more frustrated and angry at the concept than I have been before reading the book. DO RELIGIONS HAVE ANY, I MEAN ANYYYY CONSIDERATION FOR WOMEN AND THEIR FEELINGS? Besides, it's so contradictory! I dislike polygamy and the way it's seen, but the book is good, the book explains it explicitly in a clear swift direct way.
