Throughout the Nightworld series, I liked seeing the main characters in earlier stories appear as minor characters in the current story. I hope the final book comes out soon!

While I find the soulmate principle a bit drawn out and over done, overall, the series is quite entertaining.

Usually I like Meg Cabot's books more. Meena just makes the wrong decisions about whether to divulge her knowledge to her team or trust her instincts on death. The love triangle between Meena, Alaric and Lucien was obvious but not developed; it was like reading about two angry, jealous men with no minds.

I thought this book had a strong beginning, but sort of fell apart towards the end. In essence, a historical conspiracy with some secret society out to get them. I liked how Bondurant was a flawed hero - loner, misogynist, and promiscuous, drinks too much, smokes, and still without exercising, he's somehow still incredibly handsome. However, there's too much black and white opposites in this book - Bondurant's the atheist, Domenika is the fervant religious believer. The "evil"society's name looks suspiciously like a misspelling of demon....hmmm, you think they'd have caught that one!

Agree with other reviews about the pacing of the book - too slow in the first half, then too rushed in the second half.

I liked the idea of "le pause" - waiting to see why a child is crying before picking him/her up and the "no kids meal" giving kids a varied diet similar to adult food. Some things we just don't have - like state funded daycare, les creches, and long vacations. America is just not as family friendly in this regard. Some of the ideas are just common sense, but still an entertaining read.

The first book I thought was amazing. This one is a step down from the first. Gwen waffles between loving Gideon and thinking he loves her, to loving Gideon and not understanding why he doesn't love her. Ugh. It became really annoying throughout the whole book. It got to the point where I'm not seeing why she likes him other than his devastatingly handsome good looks and beautiful green eyes.

If you read this mindlessly, it's not too bad. There's a bunch of holes though - like who are Francie & Alexander and why are they making observations on the people in the story? Why is the Sophie so easily seduced? How has no one else in the story recognized the truth behind Caroline's parentage??

Not a bad action chronicle. I'm partial to strong female leads who kick butt! Kira is definitely an awesome character, both intelligent and physically strong. A few things detract from the story - the semi love interests, the weak prince (who's basically useless) and supposed to be the next king.

Not horribly awful. And that's not the best way to describe a book, but this one is just average compared to the previous books in the series. I find it completely impossible that the hero would fall in love with Pauline, the poor barmaid who doesn't even speak proper English! Yes, it's funny that she pronounces the mean character's name as Lady Awful, but overall, I don't see how he could fall in love with her - the first time he sees her, it's described that she sparkled all over because she was covered in sugar. How icky!

I loved Graceling and I love Beauty and the Beast. I just found this one really hard to get into. I didn't like how Nyx admired Ignefix's cruel smile and how he admired her. I get that they both had a bit of wickedness in them, but I wanted to see the good in each character too. I just found Nyx way too self involved, it was just too much about her.
