a wonderful collection of drawings from David Byrne inspired by Dingbats with brief poetry interludes all pieced together during covid of which you’ll see sprinklings of throughout the book especially near the end. I managed to get myself a signed copy with a legible signature. The book is brief and while i did enjoy it, it’s not really something for everyone.

Keanu Reeves first foray into comics, violent and bloody the comic will definitely draw comparisons to John Wick in the first few pages - mostly because the main character has been drawn to look like Reeves. As the story continues we start to see sprinkles of an interesting story appear but it never quite seems to grab your interest totally, however this is a first issue so maybe I’m being too harsh. Illustration style reminded me a lot of the walking dead / image comics style.

I previously read “Lost City Of Z� and really enjoy Grann’s writing style and admire the tremendous amount of research that goes into each of his books.

The first 100 pages were particularly difficult for me, the story keeps swapping between different characters and it can get quite confusing as to who is saying what or where the story is going. Not to mention that sometimes things are over explained, what could be explained in one sentence seems to drag for pages at times.

I never felt any desire to pick this book back up at any point and it’s took me a lot longer because of that. I’d read 10-20 pages at a time, each time it feeling like a chore to continue reading though I wanted to continue to the end. I had no real investment in any of the characters and Paul became more of annoying little brat as the story went on.
