ترومن کاپوتی رمان کوتاه صبحانه در تیفانی را در سال ۱۹۵۸ منتشر کرد. هالی گولایتلی، شخصیت اصلی رمان، مشهورترین شخصیتی شد که کاپوتی خلق کرده و همچنین یکی از مشهورترین شخصیت‌ها� تاریخ ادبیات امریکا. نثر کاپوتی در این رمان را هم می‌توا� اوج پختگی نثر او دانست، تا جایی که همین کتاب باعث شد نورمن میلر، نویسنده‌� هم‌دوره‌� کاپوتی، او را «کامل‌تری� نویسنده‌� نسل من» بنامد.

دفعه دوم برا اینکه حواسم پرت نشه، کندتر خوندم و سعی کردم بعد از هر باری که گذاشتمش کنار، توی ذهنم دوره‌� کنم. شخصیت هالی رو دوست داشتم. ینی هم گذشتۀ جالبی داشت و هم نویسنده به‌نح� مطلوبی گذشته‌ش� ساخته بود و رسونده بودش به هالیِ الانش. حواشی این شخصیت هم جذاب بود حتی. اون یارو شوهرش، بچه‌هاش� عشق شهرت و زندگی پرزرق و برقی که می‌خواس�... راوی کارکردش فقط راوی بود. با اینکه اول شخص بود اما از یه زاویۀ دیگه. ازین نظر موافقم با بقیه که می‌گ� مثل گتسبی بزرگ بود. اونجا هم راوی کارکردش برا شخصیت مقابلش بود. همچنین شخصیت مقابل هم جذابیت کافی رو واسه اینکه مرکز قرار بگیره، داشت. و خصوصیات مشترک هم داشتن. گتسبی و هالی.

اما به‌نظر� صبحانه در تیفانی خیلی قوی‌ت� از گتسبی بزرگ بود. یادمه گتسبی بزرگ یه جاهاییش کند می‌ش� یا حس می‌کرد� زیادیه و حجمش هم بیشتر بود. صبحانه در تیفانی خیلی خلاصه، فشرده، موجز و جمع و جور بود. درنتیجه نقاط قوتش بیشتر به چشم می‌آ�. داستانش هم بیشتر دوست داشتم. گتسبی بزرگ یه سری روابط آشفته بود که من اصن نمی‌تونست� درک‌شو� کنم. اما اینجا نویسنده فقط روی یک شخصیت سرمایه‌گذار� کرده و تونسته ابعاد خوبی رو ازش بیرون بکشه. نحوۀ افشاسازی و کشفش هم قشنگ بود. جایی‌ک� عکس‌ها� نوجوونیِ هالی رو می‌بینه� بچه‌هاش� می‌بینه� یا اونجایی که شوهرش برمی‌گرد� دنبال هالی و از زندگی‌شو� برا راوی می‌گ�. چقدر این تیکه معرکه بود. توی ذهن آدم می‌مون�.

هنوز فیلم رو ندیدم و انگار فیلم بهتره. ازون‌جای� که سخت‌تری� بخش داستان پایان‌بندیه� به‌نظر� پایان صبحانه در تیفانی یکی از قوی‌تری� پایان‌بندی‌های� بود که تا حالا خونده بودم. خیلی وقت‌ه� یک کاری قویه اما پایان‌بند� صرفاً در جهت تموم شدنشه. یا به‌هرحا� می‌تونس� بهتر باشه. چیزی که در خداحافظ گاری کوپر اتفاق افتاد به‌نظر�. اما اینجا ما یه پایان‌بند� عمیق داریم. بعد از دستگیری و بعد آزاد شدن هالی و دوباره از سر گرفتن رؤیاهای دیوانه‌وارش� راوی گربه‌ش� پیدا می‌کن� و طوری توصیفش می‌کنه� انگار گربۀ هالی تجلی خود هالیه. راوی‌ا� که هیچ‌وق� از گربه خوشش نمی‌اومد� حالا وقتی به گربه تشخص می‌د� و سیر زندگی‌ش� درک می‌کن� و همانندسازی با هالی می‌کنه� احساسش تغییر می‌کن�. پایان فقط این نیست که هالی می‌ر� دنبال دیوونه‌بازیا�. ما انتظار اینم داشتیم، با اینکه دستگیر هم شده بود. اما می‌دونستی� بالاخره که می‌آ� بیرون. اگه همون‌طو� می‌مون� که پایان خیلی ضعیف بود. اما جریان بیرون اومدن و برزیل رفتنش هم جالب بود و نویسنده فقط خوب بهش فکر کرده بود. بعد هم گربه. این تغییر حس و تغییر مرکزیت کوچیک و نهایی رو خیلی دوست داشتم. برا پایان‌بند� می‌خوا� پنج ستاره بدم.

نمیدونم چقدر میشه اینا رو شعر گفت، ولی اگر بوکوفسکی رو دوست داشته باشین خوشتون میاد. همون نگاه نیشدار که نمیفهمی باهاش بخندی یا متأسف بشی، سادگی و رک گوییِ بی مانندش که در دنیای امروز کمیابه، و اینکه اینقدر جسور باشی که اینقدر شخصی بنویسی و منتشر کنی. معلومه که دوستش دارم.

عجیب اینکه اینو خواهرم همراه یکسری کار دیگه که همینطور زیرزمینی (!) ترجمه و منتشر شدن، پارسال برام فرستاد. خودش نخونده بود، فقط تصادفاً پیداشون کرده و میدونست من بوکوفسکی دوست دارم، فرستاده بود برا من.

ممنونم از مترجم این کتاب اول از همه، فکر نمیکردم بشه فارسی خوندش. خودِ همین تجربۀ جالبی بود، اینکه یه کتاب رو بدون سانسور بخونی اونم کی؟ از بوکوفسکی با این صراحت بیانش.

تلخ و دردناکه و قلبم ریزریز شد بخصوص برای کوئنتین، همینطور برای کدی، همینطور برای بنجی. عجیب اینکه جیسون اینقدر قابل باور بود که دلت برای اونم میسوخت! چیکار کردی فاکنر.

و حالا بعد از ده سال، احساس کردم زمان بوف کور خوندن رسیده. هم دلم میخواست یه کار ایرانی بخونم، همم این علاقۀ قدیمیم به صادق هدایت رو از سر بگیرم. این سری احساس کردم شاید عامل اصلی ای که بوف کور رو به تأخیر انداختم، این بود: مقاومت. مقاومت در برابر اینکه چقدر کلمه به کلمه ش رو بفهمم یا ذهنش رو درک کنم. ترس از اینکه اینقدر با نویسنده ای که به سیاه نویسی معروفه، احساس نزدیکی کنم.

Italo Calvino's novel is in one sense a comedy in which the two protagonists, the Reader and the Other Reader, ultimately end up married, having almost finished If on a Winter's Night a Traveler. In another, it is a tragedy, a reflection on the difficulties of writing and the solitary nature of reading. The Reader buys a fashionable new book, which opens with an exhortation: "Relax. Concentrate. Dispel every other thought. Let the world around you fade." Alas, after 30 or so pages, he discovers that his copy is corrupted, and consists of nothing but the first section, over and over. Returning to the bookshop, he discovers the volume, which he thought was by Calvino, is actually by the Polish writer Bazakbal. Given the choice between the two, he goes for the Pole, as does the Other Reader, Ludmilla. But this copy turns out to be by yet another writer, as does the next, and the next.

The real Calvino intersperses 10 different pastiches—stories of menace, spies, mystery, premonition—with explorations of how and why we choose to read, make meanings, and get our bearings or fail to. تا میانه‌ها� داستان هم ریتم آرومه و حس می‌کنی� با یه داستان درست‌وحساب� طرفیم. اما وقتی تموم می‌شه� می‌بینی� فقط قالب خوبی داشته. انگار شما یه قالب خوشگل رو واسه شیرینی‌هاتو� انتخاب کردین و به هرکی می‌گی� شیرینی‌هاتو� چه شکلیه، ذوق می‌کن� و می‌خوا� بخوره. اما وقتی براش می‌آری� و می‌خور� و ازش می‌پرسی� چطور بود؟ می‌گ� خیلی زحمت کشیده بودی. خوشگل بود. دستت درد نکنه. اما خوشمزه؟ نه. خوشمزه نبود.

این راوی نابینا ما رو داشت به یه فضای سوررئال می‌بر� که خیــــــــــلی می‌تونس� ازش استفاده کنه! اما وقتی فهمیدم خودشو بند کلیشه کرده و در همون حد مونده، خیلی خورد توی ذوقم. اگه همچین قالب خوشگلی نداشت، این‌ق� نمی‌خور� توی ذوقم. از اول می‌دونست� با شیرینی خفنی طرف نیستم. اما تا وسط‌ها� داستان، هیچ اتفاقی نمی‌افتا�. همه‌� شرح بود. داستان درون شخصیت اول می‌گذشت� از طب و روش کارش با گیاهای مختلف می‌گف� و فصل‌بند� قشنگش هربار ما رو امیدوار می‌کر�. دیگه این فصل قراره حسابی به وجد بیایم! و این فصل تموم می‌ش� و باز عنوان فصل بعدی، گول‌مو� می‌ز�.

دغدغۀ این دختر نابینا، از جایی شروع شد که هم می‌خواس� از خونه‌شو� بره بیرون، همم از یه طرف مادرش مریض‌احوا� بود. بعد حتی خاکش کرد، گربه‌ه� اومدن و با وجود ترسش از گربه‌ها� اونا رو دَک کرد و داستان رفت به‌سمت� که دیگه سوررئال نبود، اما می‌ش� حداقل یه فضای وحشت‌انگی� ازش کشید بیرون! می‌ش� یه داستان وحشتش کرد. دنیا برای یه نابینا با این اتفاقا خیلی ممکنه ترسناک باشه. اما همۀ اینا ول شدن.

رابطه‌ا� که با بوعلی و بورخس داشت، خیلی چیز نابی بود. داستان توی همین حجم کمش اطلاعات دقیق و ظریفی می‌دا� و شخصیت‌پرداز� حساب‌شد� بود. از راوی استفاده می‌کر� و کشف و شهودهای دلچسبی داشتیم. فلش‌بک‌ها� دربارۀ کودکی خودش و خانواده‌� و اتفاقایی که براش افتاده بود، همگی مهندسی‌شد� بودن. جالب اینکه برخلاف خیلی از کارهای ایرانی، راوی به‌خاط� ناتوانیش غر نمی‌ز�! ناله نمی‌کر�! درون‌گویی‌ها� همه‌� در وصف نابینایی و ناتوانیش نبود و به‌خوب� از این ناتوانی استفاده می‌کر�. این ساختمون تا بالا رفته و کامل شده بود. اما داخلش لُخت و خالی بود. با همۀ زحمت‌هاش� شیرینی‌مو� فقط خوشگل بود و ظاهر خوبی داشت. مزه بی مزه.

انگار همۀ این رمان مشقی بوده برای نویسنده تا با شخصیت تازه‌� آشنا بشه. وقتی می‌گ� تازه، ینی هم تازه برای خودش هم برای مخاطب. این همه شخصیت‌پرداز� کرده تا تجربۀ زیستی این آدمو درک کنه. و اون‌ق� توی این مرحله مونده که نتونسته به داستان ساختارمند برسه. من یه نقد رو دیروز خوندم از این کار، مال گودریدز نبود. یه منتقدی روی این کتاب نوشته بود. منتقد بزرگوار می‌گف� این کتاب ارجاعات برون‌متن� داره و فلان جا به فلان چیز اشاره کرده و چقد نویسنده داستانو پُر کرده. و من باز گفتم خدایا تا کِی می‌خوای� این اداها رو دربیاریم؟ ارجاع برون‌متن� دیگه چه کوفتیه؟ یه المان داستان پست‌مدر� رو می‌آری� می‌نشونی� جلومون و می‌گی� بفرما. اما اول باید ببینیم داستان اصلاً ساختارش درست هست، که بعد روی پست‌مدر� بودن و المان‌ها� بحث کنیم! من نمی‌فهم� چرا هنوز هم بعد این همه مدت و با وجود این همه کتاب� دربارۀ نقد ادبی و اینا، بازم سطحی نگاه می‌کنی�. دکور رو می‌بینی� و می‌گی� همین خوبه. همین کافیه. به‌کرا� توی نقدها می‌خون� پای یه المان رو از یه مکتب و رویکردی اوردن وسط، درحالی‌ک� مشخص نکردن اثر در قالب اون مکتب و رویکرد موفق بوده اصلاً یا نه. وقتی ما هنوز نگفتیم قهوه‌مو� موکاست یا لاته، چطوری می‌خوای� دربارۀ روش درست‌کرد� و نسبت شیر و شکر و قهوه و آب و اینا بحث کنیم؟

اومدم باز یه ریویوی نه چندان خوشحالی‌برانگی� بنویسم. راستش من خیلی به این کتاب امیدوار بودم. اسمش، امان از اسمش. خلاصه‌ا� که ازش خوندم هم بی‌انداز� وسوسه‌آمی� بود. هم به‌خاط� نوع روایت و شخصیتش، هم موضوعش. دختر نابینایی که کارش خشک‌کرد� و درست‌کرد� گیاهای داروییه و در زمینۀ طب سنتی کار می‌کن�. شخصاً تا همین چندسال پیش گرایش زیادی به طب سنتی داشتم و مطالعه هم می‌کرد�. راوی هم راوی جدیدی بود. من توی کارهای ایرانی، ندیده بودم یه راوی نابینا. که می‌ش� اینو گذاشت روی این حساب که من اصن از ادبیات‌داستان� ایران کم خوندم. به‌هرحا� به گوشمم همچین راوی‌ا� نخورده بود توی کارهای ایرانی. حالا شما تصور کنین یه راوی نابینا با یه شغل عجیب و غریب که چیز زیادی ازش نمی‌دونی� توی این زندگی شهری و صنعتی و لاکچری(!)‌مون� چه ترکیب محشری می‌ش� برای داستان‌پرداز�!

این کتاب با یه سری فکت‌ها� روان‌شناسی� زیست‌شناسی� تاریخی و همچنین ادبی توضیح می‌د� که چرا بشر داستان می‌گه� برا هرچیزی داستان می‌گ� و دنبال داستان توی هرچیزیه. داستان برا ما مثل هواست. مثل آب برا ماهیه. دورشو گرفته، احاطه‌� کرده، در محاصرۀ آبه اما از اون هم داره تنفس می‌کن�. یه تیکه‌ا� که دوست دارم، اونجاییه که می‌گ� خیلی‌ه� شرلوک هلمز رو دوست دارن و باهوش و خبره می‌دونن�. ولی باهوش نیست و حتی نویسنده ما رو یه جورایی گول زده؛ چون با یه سری استنتاجِ ظاهراً منطقی، شرلوک رو کارآگاه باهوشی نشون داده. این تیکه رو دوست داشتم چون خودمم خیلی بهش فکر کرده بودم و خیلی جاها می‌گفت� چطور شرلوک این‌ق� دقیق از یه سری نشونه نتیجه‌گیر� کلی می‌کن�. ولی از طرفی این‌ق� هم مجذوب شخصیتش شده بودم که دوست داشتم باور کنم اینطوریه!

کتاب فصل‌به‌فصل� جذابه. دلم می‌خوا� بازم بخونمش. دوست داشتم برا فصل‌به‌فصل� نظر بدم. ولی یه مدت گذشته و باید یه دور نگاش کنم. یه تیکۀ دیگه‌ا� هم که دوست داشتم، اونجایی بود که دربارۀ بازی‌ها� نمادین بچه‌ه� صحبت کرده. چیزی که بین 1 تا 7 سالگی بچه‌ه� انجام می‌د� و کاملاً تخیلی و خلاقانه‌ست� اما رفته‌رفت� پژمرده می‌ش�. چیزی که بهش خیلی احتیاج داریم. اما با بزرگ شدن در خودمون می‌کشیمش� درحالی‌ک� در طول زندگی‌مو� بی‌انداز� بهش نیاز پیدا می‌کنی�. بازی‌ها� نمادین هم یه توضیحی بدم محض محکم‌کاری� همین که بچه‌ه� خاله‌باز� می‌کن� مثلاً. موز رو برمی‌دار� فکر می‌کن� تلفنه! یا نقش‌ها� مختلف رو بازی می‌کن�.

جایی که دربارۀ نورون‌ها� آینه‌ا� و شبیه‌ساز� و یادگیری مشاهده‌ا� توضیح می‌د� هم دوست داشتم. ما حتی از شخصیت‌ها� تخیلی هم تقلید می‌کنی�. رفتاری رو که توجهمون رو جلب کرده. ما داستان ابرقهرمان‌هامو� رو درونی می‌کنی�. آیا شخصیتی رو دوست داریم، چون شبیه ماست یا ویژگی‌های� رو به شخصیتی نسبت می‌دی� که مال خودمونه برا اینکه اونم دوست داشته باشیم؟

یه تیکه دیگه رو هم دوست داشتم که می‌گف� خیلی از شخصیت‌ها� هنری و ادبی جنون داشتن. حالا جنون واژۀ قدیمی‌ترش�. بیماری‌ها� روانی ینی. اینم سؤاله که جنون‌شو� به خلاقیت انجامیده یا خلاقیت از یه حدی بیشتر بشه، جنونه؟ اصلاً خلاقیت به جنون می‌زن� یا یه مرزی بازم بین‌شو� هست؟

درنهایت هم از آیندۀ داستان می‌گ�. با رشد تکنولوژی تصور می‌کنی� که داستان به‌معنا� اصیلش از بین می‌ر�. ولی داستان نمی‌میر�. همون‌طو� که انسان از دوران غارنشینیش هم نقاشی می‌کرد� و داستانی رو می‌آفریده� تکنولوژی‌های� مثل واقعیت مجازی و بازی‌ها� کامپیوتری بازم نه‌تنه� به خلق داستان کمک می‌کنن� بلکه رشدش می‌د�. بازم داستان همون اقیانوسِ دورِ ماهیه. هرچی ازش بخوریم کم نمی‌ش�.]]> 3.97 2012 حیوان قصه‌‌گو

خب من واقعاً به دوست‌دارا� داستان این کتابو توصیه می‌کن�!

این کتاب با یه سری فکت‌ها� روان‌شناسی� زیست‌شناسی� تاریخی و همچنین ادبی توضیح می‌د� که چرا بشر داستان می‌گه� برا هرچیزی داستان می‌گ� و دنبال داستان توی هرچیزیه. داستان برا ما مثل هواست. مثل آب برا ماهیه. دورشو گرفته، احاطه‌� کرده، در محاصرۀ آبه اما از اون هم داره تنفس می‌کن�. یه تیکه‌ا� که دوست دارم، اونجاییه که می‌گ� خیلی‌ه� شرلوک هلمز رو دوست دارن و باهوش و خبره می‌دونن�. ولی باهوش نیست و حتی نویسنده ما رو یه جورایی گول زده؛ چون با یه سری استنتاجِ ظاهراً منطقی، شرلوک رو کارآگاه باهوشی نشون داده. این تیکه رو دوست داشتم چون خودمم خیلی بهش فکر کرده بودم و خیلی جاها می‌گفت� چطور شرلوک این‌ق� دقیق از یه سری نشونه نتیجه‌گیر� کلی می‌کن�. ولی از طرفی این‌ق� هم مجذوب شخصیتش شده بودم که دوست داشتم باور کنم اینطوریه!

از اینکه خودم اینقدر سطح همدلیم زیاد شده و اینقدر قلبم درد میگیره تعجب میکنم. چقدر لطیف شدم قدرت خدا. :))

+ یک نکته دیگه با اینکه خیلی ازین کتاب گذشته: من اولش این رو به فارسی خوندم، و واقعاً نمیفهمم کتابایی مثل این چرا اصن باید چاپ بشن وقتی اینقدر میتونه برای مخاطب شرحه شرحه شه. گرچه نوشته بودم که مترجم سعی کرده بوده وفادار بمونه به داستان. من انگلیسیش رو خیلی تصادفی یکی دو سال بعدش فکر کنم پیدا کردم و نشستم خوندمش. حالا یادمه بازم شخصیت داستان واقعاً کارهای احمقانه ای میکرد و حرصم میگرفت که چرا اینقد حق به جانبه و توی پوستۀ قربانی فرورفته در عین حال دوست داره پیام آور لطف و رحمت باشه نسبت به کسایی که مثل خودش اذیت شدن. شاید دیگه روم نشده بود بیام ریویوم رو عوض کنم بگم منم خیلی نفهم بودم. الان میگم. شاید هنوزم باشم. ایرادی نداره =)) از طرفی احساس میکنم یه محیط خیلی بد رو هم توی داستان داشتیم که همه چی دست به دست هم میداد کلی اختلال سیستماتیک توی یه محیط و سر یه آدما ایجاد شه و همه چرخه های بد رو تولید کنن. اون موقع کله م داغ تر از اون بود که بتونم این همه سم رو بفهمم ولی پس از گذر سال ها بهش فکر میکنم و میگم خب خیلی عجیب نیست. ]]> 3.71 2007 Thirteen Reasons Why
