يحتاج النظام التعليمي في المملكة العربية السعودية إلى إصلاح جذري يرتكز على القيم الثقافية الأصيلة مع مراعاة المتغيّرات التي طرأت على تلك القيم من خلال عقود من التنمية والتحضّر.

هذا ما يخلص إليه هذا الكتاب الذي يتناول قضية إصلاح النظام التعليمي في المملكة العربية السعودية تناولاً نقدياً، ويعرض الأسباب الرئيسة التي يرى أنها تعيق مشاريع إصلاح النظام التعليمي وتقف وراء إخفاقه في إنتاج أجيال متعلّمة تعليماً عصرياً وقادرة على مواجهة تحدّيات الحاضر والمستقبل. ويدعو إلى وضع حدّ لثقافة التشكيك والتوجّس والخوف من التغيير والتجدّد.
