Rose Cassidy doesn’t truly live; she just exists. Numbing herself to fear and pain is the only way she can survive in this cruel world. So when she’s taken as collateral by the notorious Danny Black in a deadly game of power, she’s thrown by the deep fear she feels rising within her. And, worse than fear, a profound desire. She’s heard tales of The Brit. He’s callous. Coldblooded. But no one ever said he was wickedly beautiful and darkly captivating. He sees past her mask, giving her a cruel sense of hope. But she must fight their twisted attraction or risk losing the one thing she survives for.

When Danny Black took an enemy’s beautiful lover as security, he never anticipated the repercussions. Or the warped attraction they would share. Rose Cassidy pushes Danny to the brink of madness with her impenetrable façade and savage allure. He has to remind himself that she’s bait. A solution to a problem. Yet she evokes powerful feelings in Danny, and feelings are risky when you’re wanted dead by endless enemies.

The most dangerous game is about to be played.

But can either of them win?

*This story is gritty, dark, edgy, and contains scenes that some people may find uncomfortable to read. It is NOT for the fainthearted.]]>

Ok where to begin with this pile of garbage.....

Let me start off by saying that i am DESPERATE for a good book. Any book. So when i saw this pop up in my feed i just jumped right in, thinking to myself "how bad could this possibly be." Turns out pretty bad that it gets a prime spot in my 'stupid hall of fame' shelf. Here are my 3 main reasons why this book is a waste of time and money.

1. The hero.
He was a literal dumpster fire. This author does not know how to write a bad ass anti-hero to save her life. Just because he drops the f-bomb every other sentence or threatens to shoot people in the face every other page does NOT make someone a bad ass. In fact, i think it does the complete opposite. This dude really thought he was a German Sheppard when in actuality, he came off as a loud and obnoxious Chihuahua. Small dick energy for dayzzzzzz. If you're going to write a main character this horrible, you better have amazing character development and this just did not have that.

And to make his character even worse, he has sex with OW when he feels sexually frustrated over the h. Talk about the least sexy thing a romantic lead can do in a book. ]]>

First of all. Th writing is terrible and the authors make out all the women of the world to be sex crazed lunatics. Like I said, I knew going in I wasn’t going to like the premise so I was prepared to leave no rating. The writing and characters are the reason it gets 1 Star.

Second of all. Hero fucks heroines sister and many women after.

Third. The heroine is STILL a fucking virgin somehow. Because she’s still gotta be squeaky clean for the hero that fucks THREE WOMEN A DAY.

Forth: the H and h are secretly together but the H still goes out and has two sex appointments a day while the heroine waits around for him at his apartment.

And last but not least. There was no logic to this plot. If all men suddenly died, women would figure out a way to move on. It’s called sperm banks and artificial insemination. But noooooooo its more “romantic for the hero to sleep with hundreds upon thousands of women and pick the wallflower virgin h. It just warms my heart.

Someone needs to put this book out of its misery.]]>

The "Stupid Hall of Fame" Shelf.

I honestly do not know what to day about this book. It wasnt terrible but I definitely didnt feel happy after reading it. I could write a novel about why im confused but that would just be a waste of time and energy lol.

But if I had to write SOMETHING about this, I think I can describe it as sloppy.
-Sloppy as in; insane plot holes and bizarre actions/reactions from the characters.
-Sloppy as in; did any other person review this book before it went on sale and did anyone tell the author "hey, um, this makes zero sense."
-Sloppy as in; drama for the sake of drama with no real meaning for it.

My main problem was the heroine: Bitch I get it. You were sexually and physically abused when you grew up in the foster care system. She brought it up every chance she could get to make the hero feel like shit and at a certain point she lost my support/sympathy. Her constant tantrums and tunnel vision made her a chore to read. Also including the fact that she...
a. Cheats on the hero AT THE VERY END OF THE BOOK
b. stabs him in the leg because she was too fucking stupid to be a rational person
c. Physically abuses the hero on multiple occasions
d. Is a psycho
E. Is super gullible, like concerning so. She asks the H random questions to try and prove that he’s the killer, but only wants the answer she wants to hear. For example:
Heroine: “do you like basketball?
Hero: “ugh, yeah?
Heroine internally: “omg he likes basketball that MUST mean he’s a killer!

- On another note... why did the author make her clueless on literally everything?!? She didnt know how airplanes or audio books and other every day things worked... I get that she was homeless, but homeless people dont live on another planet. Theyre not Martians and theyre certainly not as clueless as this author was making the homeless out to be. Just seemed in bad taste.

Safety:
-Not safe at all. Heroine cheats (sleeps with another man) at the very end of the book.
*literally, what was the point of this?!?! See bullet point about drama for the sake of drama*
-Rape/abuse of characters in the past. Not too descriptive.
-Slight OM/OW drama
-Slight seperation
-I guess theres push and pull on both sides?

TLDR;
If shitty heroines, passive hero's, and truly asinine plots make you angry, then dodge this book like the plague.]]>

<![CDATA[Beast: The Beginning (Hate Story, #1)]]> 28095140
I thought selling myself to a mafia boss was noble. So what if they called him the Beast? I grew up in rags, and he would lift me to riches. All I had to do was give him my soul.

He was punishing. Insatiable. Captivating. Nothing like I expected him to be. Each day my reality blurred, leaving me wondering if I was slave or princess.

The longer I stayed, the more I lost myself to him. Even after every cruelty the Beast visited upon me, I longed for his touch. Even after every savage word he spoke, I begged for his lips. I thought the worst thing he could take was my body. I was too naïve to guard my heart.

Once upon a time, I thought love was a fairytale.

Now I know better than to speak of happily ever afters.

Beast is the first book in the Hate Story duet. About what it means to fall in love with the person who has absolutely destroyed you, it contains disturbing and graphic situations that may be a trigger for some.]]>

Lovely, the “hero rapes the heroine and is also a sex trafficker. Just what I want in a hero. Groupie (Texas Mutiny, #2) 32145489 /ˈɡ͞DZŧ/
a person, especially a young woman, who regularly follows a celebrity in the hope of meeting or getting to know them.

See example Tiffany Wendel:

Whore. Slut. Cleat Chaser. I’m used to the names so they don’t bother me. These are my boys. My friends. So what if I like to have dirty sex with them? My body is no one’s business but mine.

Why is Rowen Flanigan making me re-think how I live my life? Making me question my choices? He’s only a rookie.

Ǵǰ·
/ˈ͝ǰŧ/
a member of an athletic team in his first full season in that sport.

See example Rowen Flanigan:

Player. Son of a legend. Rookie.
Sure, I’d heard the stories of the groupies before. Who hasn’t? I’ve just been more sheltered than my teammates. So what? I didn’t expect her to be smart. Witty. Kind. She brings me to my knees in every way except one.

That part? I’m saving until the time is right.

So how in the hell did I end up falling for a Groupie like Tiffany? And how in the hell is this going to work when everyone at my job has had a piece of the one thing I haven’t?]]>
