It is a warm and thoughtful book. It made me go through my life and look deeply at what I'm taking for granted and think "What would happen if this thing disappears?"
It also made me more grateful and thoughtful.
I like how it affected and reached me.

And now I want to read more and more Japanese books.

What a good read!
The story is nice and i truly enjoyed reading this book sooo much.

What you don't get in other books about abuse (i.e. toxic relationships, domestic violence, etc) you'll get to understand in this book.

The way the relationship is described is way more detailed to shed the light and make one reevaluates their relationships!

"They lure you in. They make you feel like you're the best thing to ever happen to them, like you're the most special woman in the world- like you're seeing something rare. But that's the trap. It's how they get you close enough to drown you. And . . . Nobody can save you until you're ready to save yourself."

That is totally true, the relationship being so perfect at the beginning makes one doubt themselves when things start to change, and it is also soooo true that unless they are ready to change and leave or no one can break the cycle of abuse.

Usually when someone is abused, they also are blinded about their worth, since they are blamed for their right to be mad they think they deserve what happens to them.

This is one thing the writer tried to do in this book, she described how an abused would feel, in details, so one could relate and give a name to what they are going through. And this is something that i loved.

And love is a thing but as Alexis said"i think the safe thing was the biggest part of it."
One should feel safe when they are loved and not scared or emotionally exhausted.

This is the second book i read for Abby Jimenez and i can say that i like how she focuses on an idea to shed the light on through her stories, it is not only about the romance. There is a message.
