Ho amato il suo stile di scrittura così raffinato e molto fiabesco. Il libro si prende tutto il tempo necessario per raccontare la storia e far conoscere i personaggi al lettore, e per questo motivo può risultare lento da molti. Io invece sono stata molto felice delle tempistiche del libro, proprio perché i nomi non mi erano familiari e avendo questo ritmo "lento", sono riuscita ad entrare praticamente fin da subito nella fantastica ambientazione creata dalla Arden.
La storia è semplice e lineare. Non bisogna leggere questo libro aspettandosi un libro fantasy pieno di colpi di scena e azione. Anzi.
Ho amato Vasilisa, una protagonista ben caratterizzata, pronta a tutto pur di non sottostare alle scelte degli altri e ad avere la sua libertà.
Ho trovato anche molto interessante l'introduzione nel libro della Chiesa e quello che la religione ha imposto. L'ho trovata una riflessione davvero interessante.

Libro davvero eccellente per essere il libro d'esordio di Katherine Arden.
Ho amato il suo stile di scrittura così raffinato e molto fiabesco. Il libro si prende tutto il tempo necessario per raccontare la storia e far conoscere i personaggi al lettore, e per questo motivo può risultare lento da molti. Ho trovato il libro decisamente TROPPO LUNGO e troppo ripetitivo. I pensieri di Edward sono gli stessi per tutte le quasi 800 pagine e questo non ha fatto altro che aumentare il mio odio nei suoi confronti.
Le parti più interessanti sono state assolutamente quelle in cui si viene a scoprire qualcosina in più del suo passato, le visioni di Alice e i vari pensieri degli altri personaggi. Ho adorato inoltre la chiamata tra Charlie e Carlisle (forse perché non erano presenti i discorsi o i pensieri di Edward?).
Le tre stelline (scarse) sono motivate dal fatto che comunque la prima parte del libro mi ha interessato abbastanza, ma secondo me la grande pecca è data dal fatto che è decisamente troppo lungo. Erano davvero necessarie tutte quelle pagine per raccontare la partita di baseball? Perché io non credo.

Inizio con il dire che questo non è assolutamente un libro adatto a tutti, dato che contiene scene di violenza e di sesso molto esplicite.

Detto questo iniziamo a parlare del libro!

Il worldbuilding è decisamente il punto forte di questo libro. Spettacolare, pieno di dettagli e costruito minuziosamente. All'interno del libro sono presenti delle note che spesso andavano ulteriormente a spiegare meglio il worldbuilding. Molte volte le ho trovate molto interessanti, altrettante volte le ho trovate inutili e le ho un po' odiate perché andavano a rallentare la lettura.
Lo stile di scrittura è molto denso e soprattutto all'inizio abbastanza lento, ma con spruzzi di umorismo e ironia che io ho adorato. Kristoff si prende decisamente il suo tempo per farci immergere in questo mondo e per cercare di farcelo capire al meglio senza utilizzare i tipici spiegoni che ormai sono di uso comune da tutti.
Per quanto riguarda il personaggio di Mia... È assolutamente una protagonista con i contro caxxi, caratterizzata benissimo. Mentre per quanto riguarda il restante gruppo di personaggi che incontriamo li ho travati quasi tutti (con qualche eccezione), poco approfonditi, ma con il fatto che ero principalmente concentrata su Mia, non l'ho accusato più di tanto.
Detto questo sono molto contenta di aver letto questo libro e non vedo l'ora di sapere come continuerà la vita di Mia.

Leggendo le varie recensioni e vedendo che quasi tutti ritengono il secondo superiore al primo, mi sono ritrovata ad essere doppiamente delusa da questo secondo volume.
Lento, noioso, non succede praticamente niente (se non nelle ultime cinquanta pagine) e soprattutto vengono aggiunti personaggi che non hanno un minimo di caratterizzazione e che servono solamente per aiutare i personaggi principali ad andare avanti con la loro missione.
Ho odiato Mare. I suoi continui sbalzi di umore e di idee mi facevano venire il mal di testa.

Rimasta molto delusa da questo secondo libro, ma credo di avere una maledizione che incombe su di me. Tutti i seguiti dei libri distopici mi deludono. Sempre.
Anche se Regina Rossa ha un po' di difetti, si è fatto leggere senza problemi ed è stato un libro che alla fine mi aveva creato una certa curiosità. Leggendo le varie recensioni e vedendo che quasi tutti ritengono il secondo superiore al primo, mi sono ritrovata ad essere doppiamente delusa da questo secondo volume.
Lento, noioso, non succede praticamente niente (se non nelle ultime cinquanta pagine) e soprattutto vengono aggiunti personaggi che non hanno un minimo di caratterizzazione e che servono solamente per aiutare i personaggi principali ad andare avanti con la loro missione.
Ho odiato Mare. I suoi continui sbalzi di umore e di idee mi facevano venire il mal di testa.

Libro carino, dove l'idea di partenza mi è piaciuta ma in alcuni punti l'ho trovato un po' troppo sbrigativo e approssimativo per quanto riguarda il worldbuilding. Anche la mancanza di una mappa si è fatta sentire dato che vengono citati, per molta parte del libro, luoghi che non trovano una collocazione geografica nella mia mente. Inoltre spero che nei libri successivi sia ampliato tutto cioè che riguarda i paesi confinanti, perché sono stati a malapena accennati all'inizio del libro e mai più nominati.

A parte queste note negative, la storia mi ha interessato e intrattenuto. Ho trovato il personaggio di Maven molto interessante.

Ambedue hanno lottato per uscire dal rione natale, una prigione di conformismo, violenze e legami difficili da spezzare. Elena è diventata una scrittrice affermata, ha lasciato Napoli, si è sposata e poi separata, ha avuto due figlie e ora torna a Napoli per inseguire un amore giovanile che si è di nuovo materializzato nella sua nuova vita. Il tutto sullo sfondo id una Napoli, di un'Italia che preparano i connotati allarmanti di oggi.
Della trama non anticiperemo niente. Storia e forza della scrittura fanno tutt'uno al punto che ci pare sconveniente guastare al lettore il piacere di leggere sorprendendosi a ogni pagina.
