<![CDATA[The Thomistic Response to the Nouvelle Théologie: Concerning the Truth of Dogma and the Nature of Theology]]> 75670855 The Thomistic Response to the Nouvelle Thologie: Concerning the Truth of Dogma and the Nature of Theology retrieves the most important and largely forgotten exchanges in the mid-20th-century debate surrounding ressourcement thinkers. It makes available new translations of works by the leading Thomists in the exchange: Dominican Fathers Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange, Michel Labourdette, Marie-Joseph Nicolas, and Raymond Bruckberger. In addition to a lengthy historical and theological introduction, the volume contains sixteen articles, thirteen of which have never appeared in English. All the major critical responses of the Dominican Thomists to the nouvelle thologie are here presented chronologically according to the primary debates carried on, respectively, in the journals Revue Thomiste and Angelicum. A lengthy introduction describes the unfolding of the entire debate, article by article, and explains and references the ressourcement interventions.

Unfortunately, the history of this important debate is largely surrounded by polemics, half-truths, caricatures, and journalistic soundbites. In the articles gathered in this volume, along with the accompanying introduction, the Toulouse and Roman Dominicans speak in their own voice. The central theses that define the two sides of the debate are sympathetically set forth. However, the texts gathered here show the immense lengths to which the Thomists went to initiate an authentic and fraternal theological dialogue with the nouveaux thologiens. Frs. Labourdette and Nicolas repeatedly argued for the importance of ressourcement work: they applauded its historical efforts, and they were generally sympathetic and complementary (although always pointed and persistent in gently expressing their concerns). Even Fr. Garrigou-Lagrange--whose infamous intervention is remembered as being a theological "atomic bomb"--is revealed as being no more guilty of escalation than the Dominicans' interlocutors in their own responses to him and Fr. Labourdette.

This volume will greatly aid in the task of theological and historical reconstruction and will, undoubtedly, assist in a certain rapprochement between the two sides, as the essential texts, concerns, and theological arguments are made available in their entirety to professional and lay Anglophone readers.]]>

<![CDATA[The Order of Things: The Realism of the Principle of Finality]]> 56036036
In the first part, Fr. Garrigou-Lagrange sets forth the basics of the Aristotelian metaphysics of teleology, defending its place as a central point of metaphysics. After defending its per se nota character, he summarizes a number of main corollaries to the principle, primarily within the perspective established by traditional Thomistic accounts of metaphysics, doing so in a way that is pedagogically sensitive yet speculatively profound.

In the second half of The Order of Things, Garrigou-Lagrange gathers together a number of articles which he had written, each having some connection with themes concerning teleology. Thematically, the texts consider the finality and teleology of the human intellect and will, along with the way that the principle of finality sheds light on certain problems associated with the distinction between faith and reason. Finally, the text ends with an important essay on the principle of the mutual interdependence of causes, causae ad invicem sunt causae, sed in diverso genere.]]>

As a child, no one in my catechism class ever told me there was more to learn—I wish I had discovered this book sooner. While it references Vatican II at times, most of its content is rooted in earlier Church councils. For those interested in the ongoing crisis in the Church and seeking a solid pre-Vatican II theological framework, this book is a valuable resource. That said, when Vatican II is cited, it’s wise to cross-reference with pre-conciliar sources. Overall, Church crisis aside, it's a rich and balanced read—dense yet concise, covering a great deal of ground effectively.

Thinking, Fast and Slow 11468377 Thinking, Fast and Slow, Kahneman takes us on a groundbreaking tour of the mind and explains the two systems that drive the way we think. System 1 is fast, intuitive, and emotional; System 2 is slower, more deliberative, and more logical. Kahneman exposes the extraordinary capabilities—and also the faults and biases—of fast thinking, and reveals the pervasive influence of intuitive impressions on our thoughts and behavior. The impact of loss aversion and overconfidence on corporate strategies, the difficulties of predicting what will make us happy in the future, the challenges of properly framing risks at work and at home, the profound effect of cognitive biases on everything from playing the stock market to planning the next vacation—each of these can be understood only by knowing how the two systems work together to shape our judgments and decisions.

Engaging the reader in a lively conversation about how we think, Kahneman reveals where we can and cannot trust our intuitions and how we can tap into the benefits of slow thinking. He offers practical and enlightening insights into how choices are made in both our business and our personal lives—and how we can use different techniques to guard against the mental glitches that often get us into trouble. Thinking, Fast and Slow will transform the way you think about thinking.]]>

<![CDATA[The Catechism of the Council of Trent]]> 40520949 The Council of Trent was called to counter the Protestant Reformation by unambiguously affirming the distinctive truths of the Catholic faith. To disseminate these truths, the Council of Trent commanded a Catechism to be written. Composed under the supervision of St. Charles Borromeo and promulgated by St. Pope St. Pius V, its value as an authoritative exposition of the Catholic faith has only increased through the centuries.

While originally intended for priests to use alongside the Sacred Scriptures in defending the faith, its straightforward and logical explanation of Catholic doctrinal and moral teachings makes it a useful reference and guide for the laity more than 400 years after it was first published. Today, it continues to enlighten souls who seek to discern between true and false teachings.

This edition is the definitive translation of theCatechism of the Council of Trentfrom the original Latin. The book is divided into four parts which explain, respectively, the Articles of Faith, the Seven Sacraments, the Ten Commandments and the Lord’s Prayer. There are also appendices on the Immaculate Conception, Papal Infallibility, Christian Marriage and on Frequent and Daily Communion.

The Nag Hammadi Scriptures 387216 The Revised and Updated Translation of Sacred Gnostic Texts Complete in One Volume

The year is 1945. At the foot of a cliff along the Nile River, near the city of Nag Hammadi, an Egyptian peasant unearths a large storage jar containing ancient manuscripts.

The discovery turns out to be a treasury of fourth-century texts, including the Gospel of Thomas, the Gospel of Philip, the Gospel of Truth, and many other writings the scriptures of the mystical tradition commonly called Gnosticism, from the Greek gnosis, that is, esoteric or secret knowledge.

There had been malicious references to these works by early church fathers, but these were among the first copies seen in modern times. Since this discovery of the renowned Nag Hammadi library, our picture of the world of the historical Jesus, Judaism, Greco-Roman religions, and the early varieties of Christianity has begun to look remarkably different.

The Nag Hammadi Scriptures is the most complete and up-to-date English-language edition of these sacred texts from Egypt. Also included are the Gospel of Mary (from the Berlin Gnostic Codex), the controversial Gospel of Judas, and the previously unknown Book of the Stranger (both from the recently discovered Codex Tchacos). The documents have been newly translated with clarity and grace by a team of prominent international scholars. In addition, this volume features introductory essays and extensive notes to help readers understand the context and significance of texts that have revolutionized the study of early Christianity and ancient religious thought.

The Nag Hammadi Scriptures is essential to any reader who wishes to understand the history of Gnostic thought and mystical spirituality and the impact of such thought upon the Christian church from its formative period to the present day.

When it was just me and the book, the impact was profound. From the first subsection, I was engrossed. The promises and wisdom contained within were truly delivered.

This is a book I plan to revisit, perhaps every five years or so, as I believe it will continue to reveal deeper insights over time. I recommend reading it slowly and reflectively—spending a week on each chapter if possible. Personally, I spent a day or two on each subsection, allowing its depth to truly sink in. This book is truly a spiritual masterpiece. I began reading it during a 3-day silent retreat with fellow traditional Dominican Tertiaries, where we attended conferences on the Interior Life, as presented by Saint John of the Cross. <![CDATA[The Montessori Toddler: A Parent's Guide to Raising a Curious and Responsible Human Being]]> 38103723
I felt the same way when my children were small and I was struggling to get them to do things. I felt enormous empathy for them, but wasn’t sure what the alternative was to threatening, bribing or putting them into time out.

It’s been my mission since then to find another way. I’ve now been working in Montessori education for nearly 15 years and love to learn from the 100 toddlers and parents I see every week in my classroom. I am so happy to share with you what I have learned and help you understand your toddler better too.

This book is the result. Your comprehensive guide to raising toddlers in a Montessori way.

A quick aside for those of you that don't know Montessori. It is an alternative education system where, instead of the teacher standing at the front of the classroom telling the kids what they need to know, the children are free to explore a classroom of well-designed materials covering language, mathematics, daily life skills and more. The result is that the children are able to follow their unique natural rhythm and development as well as learn with concrete learning materials to make discoveries for themselves. But that's it. It's not just for school aged children - you can apply exactly the same ideas in your home and with your toddler.

And when I say toddler, I'm talking about children around 1 to 3 years, give or take a few months.

Each section of the book is super practical and it is beautifully designed to make it even easier to read. It’s perfect if you are a busy parent, carer or even grandparent. And it doesn't matter if you are brand new to Montessori or have been using Montessori for a while - or even if you aren't planning to send your children to Montessori school. You can read it from cover to cover. Or just open up the book at a page that interests you and you will find something practical you can try today.

You’ll learn how to set up your home to get rid of the chaos and bring back some calm into your lives. You will get the tools to work together with your child. How you can lead, guide and support them, especially when they are having a hard time (and throwing themselves on the ground in the most inconvenient of places). You’ll also get ideas to create Montessori activities at home that are just right for your toddler.

You will find answers to your questions. To see there is another more peaceful way to be with your toddler. To help you plant the seeds to raise a respectful and responsible human being. To work on a relationship with your toddler which you will be building on for years.

So are you ready to say goodbye to frustration and hello to peace and calm? It’s time for us to learn to see through our toddler’s eyes - The Montessori Toddler.]]>

<![CDATA[Beyond Order: 12 More Rules For Life]]> 56019043
In 12 Rules for Life, clinical psychologist and celebrated professor at Harvard and the University of Toronto Dr. Jordan B. Peterson helped millions of readers impose order on the chaos of their lives. Now, in this bold sequel, Peterson delivers twelve more lifesaving principles for resisting the exhausting toll that our desire to order the world inevitably takes.

In a time when the human will increasingly imposes itself over every sphere of life—from our social structures to our emotional states—Peterson warns that too much security is dangerous. What’s more, he offers strategies for overcoming the cultural, scientific, and psychological forces causing us to tend toward tyranny, and teaches us how to rely instead on our instinct to find meaning and purpose, even—and especially—when we find ourselves powerless.

While chaos, in excess, threatens us with instability and anxiety, unchecked order can petrify us into submission. Beyond Order provides a call to balance these two fundamental principles of reality itself, and guides us along the straight and narrow path that divides them.]]>

Intellectuals and Society not only examines the track record of intellectuals in the things they have advocated but also analyzes the incentives and constraints under which their views and visions have emerged. <![CDATA[Catholicism's 21st Century Opponents: Al Kresta Responds]]> 10481964
"Al Kresta is like a powerful satellite for Catholics in this country. He picks up the signals of cultural trends and he beams us the message we need to take home." -- Scott Hahn , Professor of Biblical Theology at Franciscan University of Steubenville

"In this primer on the intellectual potholes in our increasingly bizarre culture, Al Kresta helpfully scouts some of the roughest terrain on which the New Evangelization must contend for the soul of the West. Fasten your seat belt for a bumpy -- but essential -- ride through the wastelands." -- George Weigel , author of Evangelical Deep Reform in the 21st-Century Church

"Al Kresta has saved you about 10,000 hours of study and research with this book. Read it." -- Matthew Kelly , founder of DynamicCatholic.com

"Dangers to Faith is for our century what Chesterton's Heretics and Belloc's Great Heresies was for the last century. It is a damning indictment and demonstrative demolition of the major errors of our age." -- Joseph Pearce , literary biographer, writer in residence Thomas More College

"Al possesses a unique array of intelligent, articulate, witty and incredibly aware of those issues most pertinent to today s Catholics. If Al takes the time to write it, it is worth reading." -- Tom Monaghan , founder of Domino's Pizza and founder of Ave Maria University

"Al Kresta is one of the modern Church's most articulate, thoughtful and authentic minds. His book, Dangers to the Faith, is a superb analysis of the challenges not only to contemporary Catholicism but the whole of global civilization." -- Matthew Bunson , author Pope Francis, general editor of the Catholic Almanac

"Al Kresta's new book offers a tour through today's pretenders to spiritual superiority over Jesus Christ by a warrior who takes our age as a wonderful time to be alive." -- Michael Novak , Scholar in Religion, Philosophy, and Public Policy at the American Enterprise Institute

"Al Kresta is as fearless as he is comprehensive, covering everything from Islam to New Age, from reincarnation to relativism to consumerism. Through it all, Al Kresta remains ... well, orthodox." -- Paul Kengor , Ph.D., professor of political science, Grove City College

"There is no lay person better qualified to address the threats to our Church than Al Kresta, who five days a week, two hours a day for many years has explained, proclaimed, and defended the Catholic faith on his Ave Maria radio broadcast. Kresta, in short, has become our nation's preeminent Catholic apologist." -- Deal W. Hudson , founder of Catholic Advocate, former publisher Crisis Magazine

"Dangers to the Faith is a serious, substantive, significant work of cultural apologetics. Al Kresta deserves much credit for providing such a long overdue taxonomy of toxicity a guide to what ails the body politic." -- Patrick Madrid , host of the Right Here, Right Now radio show

"Kresta communicates in an accessible, enjoyable style that edifies any truth-seeking reader. The book has already informed my teaching because it meets people where they are and leads them to the fullness of faith in Christ." -- John Love , S.T.D., Assistant Professor of Theology at Mt. <![CDATA[A Student's Guide to Natural Science]]> 1744169 Student’s Guide to Natural Science aims to give students an understanding, in broad outline, of the nature, history, and great ideas of natural science from ancient times to the present, with a primary focus on physics. Barr begins with the contributions of the ancient Greeks, in particular the two great ideas that reality can be understood by the systematic use of reason and that phenomena have natural explanations. He goes on to discuss, among other things, the medieval roots of the scientific revolution of the seventeenth century, the role played by religion in fostering the idea of a lawful natural order, and the major breakthroughs of modern physics, including how many newer “revolutionary theories are in fact related to much older ones. Throughout this thoughtful guide, Barr draws his readers attention to the larger themes and trends of scientific history, including the increasing unification and “mathematization of our view of the physical world that has resulted in the laws of nature appearing more and more as forming a single harmonious mathematical edifice.]]> 90 Stephen M. God or Nothing 26204284
Robert Cardinal Sarah grew up in Guinea, West Africa. Inspired by the missionary priests who made great sacrifices to bring the Faith to their remote village, his parents became Catholics. Robert discerned a call to the priesthood and entered the seminary at a young age, but due to the oppression of the Church by the government of Guinea, he continued his education outside of his homeland. He studied in France and nearby Senegal. Later he obtained a licentiate in theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, followed by a licentiate in Sacred Scripture at the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum of Jerusalem.

At the age of thirty-four he became the youngest Bishop in the Catholic Church when John Paul II appointed him the Archbishop of Conakry, Guinea, in 1979. His predecessor had been imprisoned by the Communist government for several years, and when Archbishop Sarah was targeted for assassination John Paul II called him to Rome to be Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples. In 2010 Pope Benedict XVI named him Cardinal and appointed him Prefect of the Pontifical Council Cor Unum. Pope Francis made him Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments in 2014.]]>

<![CDATA[Subverted: How I Helped the Sexual Revolution Hijack the Women's Movement]]> 26212102
In Subverted, Sue Ellen Browder documents for the first time how it all happened, in her own life and in the life of an entire country. Trained at the University of Missouri School of Journalism to be an investigative journalist, Browder unwittingly betrayed her true calling and became a propagandist for sexual liberation. As a long-time freelance writer for Cosmopolitan magazine, she wrote pieces meant to soft-sell unmarried sex, contraception, and abortion as the single woman’s path to personal fulfillment. She did not realize until much later that propagandists higher and cleverer than herself were influencing her thinking and her personal choices as they subverted the women’s movement.

The thirst for truth, integrity, and justice for women that led Browder into journalism in the first place eventually led her to find forgiveness and freedom in the place she least expected to find them. Her in-depth research, her probing analysis, and her honest self-reflection set the record straight and illumine a way forward for others who have suffered from the unholy alliance between the women’s movement and the sexual revolution.]]>

<![CDATA[Finding True Happiness: Satisfying Our Restless Hearts (Happiness, Suffering, and Transcendence) (Volume 1)]]> 25506063
The problem seems to lie less in the external environment than in the internal one. We seem, in the words of Viktor Frankl, to be suffering from an absence of meaning that pervades both individuals and societies, giving rise to a collective emptiness, loneliness, and alienation.

Finding True Happiness attempts to provide a way out of this personal and cultural vacuum by helping people to identify and then reach for happiness. As Aristotle noted 2,400 years ago, happiness is the one thing we can choose for its own sake—everything else is chosen for the sake of happiness.

After an exhaustive investigation of philosophical, psychological, and theological systems of happiness, author Fr. Spitzer developed the “Four Levels of Happiness, which he based on the classical thinkers Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, and Aquinas; the contemporary philosophers Marcel, Scheler, Buber, Ricoeur, and Jaspers; and the modern psychologists Maslow, Frankl, Erikson, Seligman, Kohlberg and Gilligan.

Finding True Happiness is both a philosophical itinerary and a practical guidebook for life’s most important journey—from the mundane and the meaningless to transcendent fulfillment. No other book currently available combines such breadth of practical advice and such depth of philosophical, psychological, and spiritual wisdom.]]>

<![CDATA[Last Testament: In His Own Words]]> 31372248
Last Testament is nearest to an autobiography from the shy and private man who has remained “hidden to the world in a former convent in the Vatican gardens. He breaks his silence on issues such as:

- The “Vatileaks case in which his butler leaked some of his personal letters that alleged corruption and scandal in the Vatican
- The presence of a “gay lobby within the Vatican and how he dismantled it
- His alleged Nazi upbringing
- His attempts at cleaning up the “dirt in the church (clerical sexual abuse)
- The mysterious private secretary “Gorgeous George

On a more personal level he writes with great warmth of his successor Pope Francis, who he admits has a popular touch, a star quality which he has lacked. Much controversy still surrounds Pope Benedict`s Papacy--in this book he addresses these controversies and reveals how at his late age, governing and reforming the Papacy and particularly the Vatican, was beyond him.]]>

<![CDATA[Noble Beauty, Transcendent Holiness: Why the Modern Age Needs the Mass of Ages]]> 35705761
Peter Kwasniewski offers a lively account of the noble beauty and transcendent holiness of the traditional Roman liturgy, which humbles us before the mystery of God, stirs us with its pageantry, carries us into sacred silence, and bears us to a world of invisible realities. He contrasts this priceless treasure with the rationalistic reforms of the sixties, which yielded a Catholic liturgy severed from its own history, inadequate to its theological essence, unequal to its ascetical-mystical purpose, and estranged from its cultural inheritance. His conclusion: if there is to be a new springtime in the Church, the widespread restoration of the traditional liturgical rites will be at the heart of it.]]>

<![CDATA[The Power of a Positive No: Save The Deal Save The Relationship and Still Say No]]> 2439233 --Jim Collins, author of Good to Great

No is perhaps the most important and certainly the most powerful word in the language. Every day we find ourselves in situations where we need to say No-to people at work, at home, and in our communities-because No is the word we must use to protect ourselves and to stand up for everything and everyone that matters to us.

But as we all know, the wrong No can also destroy what we most value by alienating and angering people. That's why saying No the right way is crucial. The secret to saying No without destroying relationships lies in the art of the Positive No, a proven technique that anyone can learn.

This indispensable book gives you a simple three-step method for saying a Positive No. It will show you how to assert and defend your key interests; how to make your No firm and strong; how to resist the other side's aggression and manipulation; and how to do all this while still getting to Yes. In the end, the Positive No will help you get not just to any Yes but to the right Yes, the one that truly serves your interests.

Based on William Ury's celebrated Harvard University course for managers and professionals, The Power of a Positive No offers concrete advice and practical examples for saying No in virtually any situation. Whether you need to say No to your customer or your coworker, your employee or your CEO, your child or your spouse, you will find in this book the secret to saying No clearly, respectfully, and effectively.

In today's world of high stress and limitless choices, the pressure to give in and say Yes grows greater every day, producing overload and overwork, expanding e-mail and eroding ethics. Never has No been more needed. A Positive No has the power to profoundly transform our lives by enabling us to say Yes to what counts-our own needs, values, and priorities.

Understood this way, No is the new Yes. And the Positive No may be the most valuable life skill you'll ever learn.]]>

Actionism 36639149
Written by renowned author Lennart Svensson, Actionism is footed in perennial metaphysics. Essential reality is immaterial, eternal ideas and patterns rest in the causal sphere where they affect the material world and material man, all “incarnated souls in the confluence of samsâra. This kind of ontological background makes this into a refined selfhelp guide, the statements and assertions forming the core of the book being founded in the esoteric thought of western and eastern tradition.

As intimated, a prominent place in the book is occupied by responsibility. The basic of all reality, of God, is will, thought and passion, and the individual human being, having a spark of the divine light, is a being of will, thought and passion. And from will is derived the value of responsibility, a much neglected virtue in the mindless emotionalism of today. Thus the subtitle of the book: “How to Become a Responsible Man.

Along with will there’s a conceptualization of thought and passion, Actionism thus forming a valid ethic for the mindful operator of today. This is about eternal values, operational in your everyday. This is a serious essay in popular form, a “tight but loose deliberation on the deathless issue of, How Shall I Act.

The first seven chapters of the book lay the foundation, explaining the Actionist way of life with references to Nietzsche, Castaneda, the Bhagavad-Gîtâ and the Bible, introducing concepts like “action as being and “movement as a state, and the need for mental calm and a memento mori mindset. After a look into the role of art the passion of compassion the study takes a look at operators like d’Annunzio, Evola and T. H. Lawrence from an Actionist viewpoint. Then Svensson deliberates on operations how to operate as a hiker, a soldier, a trained chef and such, all within the framework of Actionist ethics. This is an operational pro spilling the beans about “how to act, not some philosophy professor making abstract examples.

The mid part of the study discusses how contemporary society might be conceived of in Actionist terms. We here read of things like “declining war trend, “the nature of decadence and “the society of the future, Svensson in the latter case giving a structural outlook on how to arrange and re-arrange a modern society.
Finally, part three of the study again focuses on the microcosm, on individual man as an ethical operator, by referencing greats like Poe, Kierkegaard and Neale Donald Walsch. It all results in a veritable “hymn to the active life since, as you know by now, we all have to act.

In 2015 author Lennart Svensson published his metaphysical essay Borderline A Traditional Outlook for Modern Man, a study focusing on holistic metaphysics and epistemology, a perennially footed conceptualization of everything. Now, in Actionism, we finally have Svensson’s magnum opus study of prescriptive ethics and morals, an arousing vision of an active, mindful lifestyle a clarion call to live the responsible life, to become the first ever Responsible Men in the history of mankind.]]>

The 48 Laws of Power 1303 Amoral, cunning, ruthless, and instructive, this multi-million-copy New York Times bestseller is the definitive manual for anyone interested in gaining, observing, or defending against ultimate control from the author of The Laws of Human Nature.

In the book that People magazine proclaimed “beguiling and “fascinating, Robert Greene and Joost Elffers have distilled three thousand years of the history of power into 48 essential laws by drawing from the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, and Carl Von Clausewitz and also from the lives of figures ranging from Henry Kissinger to P.T. Barnum.

Some laws teach the need for prudence (“Law 1: Never Outshine the Master), others teach the value of confidence (“Law 28: Enter Action with Boldness), and many recommend absolute self-preservation (“Law 15: Crush Your Enemy Totally). Every law, though, has one thing in common: an interest in total domination. In a bold and arresting two-color package, The 48 Laws of Power is ideal whether your aim is conquest, self-defense, or simply to understand the rules of the game.]]>

<![CDATA[Operative Traditions: A Book where Ernst Junger and Julius Evola Meet at Last]]> 35880023 Operative Traditions provides a practical and didactic approach to the heritage of the West and the East, focusing on the core values present in traditional craft and art. Through a deep insight into the operative aspects and spiritual character of such disciplines, this book approaches one of the least studied aspects of modern culture: technique and its importance as a key factor for spiritual development.

Operative Traditions uncovers the important ideas of one of the most obscure philosophical works of the 20th century: Julius Evola's Theory and Phenomenology of the Absolute Individual. Evola's gnoseological approach draws from the crisis experienced in modern times by Transcendental Idealism (Kant, Hegel, Schelling) and establishes an immanent critique beyond all discursive relativism and speculation. Evola provides the individual with a series of epistemological "tools" that allow the establishment of transcendent immanence: the projection of the core values of Tradition upon the most diverse and complex human realities. The great value of Evola's philosophy resides in its capacity to be directly applied in the most materialistic, reductionist, and highly technological conditions of the 21st century. Operative Traditions studies these technical conditions, aiming to describe the fundamental framework that influences an individual's traits and habits.

Operative Traditions also examines The Worker (Der Arbeiter, 1932), one of the most misunderstood works by Ernst JUnger. This serves to provide a new dignity for technique and work, no longer regulating these activities to economic or class-related factors, but instead as opus, a means for forging the diamond brilliance of the spirit.

Operative Traditions presents a more appealing and highly artistic vision shared by these figures than is commonly found the political context, instead revealing a creative path where the individual can attain the absolute, persuading all the stars to revolve around him.

Operative Traditions offers a multidisciplinary exposition that aims to establish a dialogue between readers who are interested in the metaphysical aspects of Traditionalism and Perennial Philosophy with a broader range readers who are involved in the actual operative conditions of our time. Operative Traditions aims to provide new perspectives, approaches, and disciplines for all those who want to follow Evola's advice of "riding the tiger," here and now, who are no longer content living as "men among the ruins," and want to become men who strive to develop new creations.]]>
