the first part of the book : short stories with different subjects : love, supernatural events, hope.. what i want to say is that it made me feel different kind of "emotions" and that was good (except for the first story , i couldn't feel it, it was more like : r u effing me? and i was going to give up on the entire book, gladly something was asking me to carry on reading). another thing i liked is the fact that the characters weren't "physically" described, (sometimes he did mention the color of the eyes or the hair) instead, he tried to make us have a connection with their souls.

En 1954, à l'occasion des 20 ans de la mort de Marie Curie, la revue Europe commande à sa fille Irène un article � resté confidentiel et jamais réédité jusqu'à aujourd'hui � dans lequel elle livre " souvenirs et impressions " sur sa mère.
Irène y aborde l'enseignement dont elle a bénéficié et qu'elle caractérise d'" un peu désordonné ", l'importance qu'elle et sa mère accordent à la pratique des exercices physiques, aux excursions en montagne ou à la mer, à tout type de loisirs actifs. L'une et l'autre aiment la nature et la poésie, à laquelle son grand-père a initié Irène et que Marie avait acquis dans sa jeunesse.
Les années 1914-1918 sont un tournant majeur dans la vie de Marie Curie. Elle équipe des voitures radiologiques et forme des groupes d'infirmières à la pratique des appareils à rayons X. Irène, s'implique très tôt, à 17 ans, dans le travail entrepris par sa mère dont elle devient, avec le même caractère calme et réfléchi que son père, une collaboratrice privilégiée. Elle aura bientôt une place reconnue à l'Institut du Radium où elle entreprend ses propres recherches et rencontre Frédéric Joliot. Leurs travaux communs les mèneront jusqu'au Prix Nobel de chimie en 1935. Une découverte qui complète si bien celle de Pierre et Marie Curie.
Irène aborde enfin la personnalité de Marie, ses opinions religieuses et politiques. Leurs idées se rencontrent sur la science, le plaisir de la découverte, l'horreur de la guerre qu'elles ont vue de près. Mais, contrairement à sa fille, Marie a peu exprimé, en dehors de sa famille, ses opinions sur les injustices sociales, le gâchage des ressources naturelles ou les crédits militaires.
